I actually kind of liked New Tales. I deeply enjoyed the lore and universe expansion it brought to the series, and some of the characters were really cool (I love L0u13 sm). There were some cringe moments - notably that one joke in episode 4 which I will not talk about because it makes me uncomfortable - but like, it's Borderlands, there will always be "cringe" in it, and that's it.

I like Ava, she is written realistically, and I wish everyone who wants her dead a very die. That being said, I think her arc could have been handled better - then again, you could say that about quite a bit of BL3's cast.

Jack stans are awful and we all know that, but I'd argue a lot of Rhys fans are also insufferable (not all of them, but most), especially those that think he's an uwu baby who can do no wrong

book/movie recs??

i dont really watch movies much bc they take a lot of time to process. lots of stimuli and stuff

however in terms of book recs, i can recommend the entirety of the discworld series <3

The majority of "Atlas AUs" are bad. Like, buddy, if you're just slapping Rhys and Timothy together for no good reason that's not an AU, that's just normal shipping. Develop it a little for fucks sake! Remember that Sasha and Fiona exist! Do something interesting instead of repeating the same formula!

The only Atlas AU I like is Jordan and Ewbie's (katagawajr and timothylawrence), because it actually has a non zero amount of creativity and thought put into it. Also it's Rhysha focused and not Rhysothy lol. (Timkat sweep, Naoko sweep, just generally, I love that AU sm, it was the main inspiration for me bringing Katagawa into the fold of folk who live in my rewrite, and also why I call him Hansuke sometimes)

Also tangential but like. Kinda sad that these cookie cutter AUs get way more attention than idk, Kitsu's (kitsumidori) amazing Psyren centric rewrite or owlarchivist's epic lesbian polycule shenanigans or my weird eldritch sciencefantasyish post-canon verse.
