Oriental Scops Owl

Scientific name: Otus Sunia

Commonly found: across eastern and southern Asia

Size: 17-21cm

Oriental Scops Owls are found across a wide part of Asia, in forests from Russia to Thailand. They are nocturnal and have ear tufts which they can prick up or lay flat. There are a few different morphs including grey and rufus which gives them a varied appearance. Their diet mostly consists of insects and spiders.

It hatches from black, bright, brown, facial, flat, hollow, human, last, prominent, rapid, short, smallish, weak, and yellow eggs.

12. Oriental Scops-Owl

Okay okay, Tai. Gojo and Geto as birds, what would they be? I can picture Gojo somehow as a silver fantail pigeon. Annoyingly cooing 24/7.

I'm SO incredibly torn!! There are so many choices I could make for these two, and I haven't quite figured out a decisive answer..

Satoru Gojo .. I'd really like to say I'm satisfied saying he would be some kind of owl? My heart is telling me to go that route not only for various mythology surrounding owls but also due to their ruthless hunting practices and of course their special all-seeing eyes as well. I did some digging into various species, and I picked out just these that piqued my interest for him. (Left: White-Fronted Scops Owl || Right: Oriental Bay Owl)

Of course I could also go with a swan for the same sake as having a purely white bird that looks pretty but would ruin your day if you messed with one? The idea of Gojo being a small bird is pretty funny though.

As for Geto, I REALLY .. want him to be a Rook of some sort. Some kind of corvidae? I just love placing him with a super intelligent species, and also the vibes just fit.

Global Kalyan - Oriental Horned Owl has been found in Kalyan City

Very few people know about this bird. This bird is somewhat smaller in size than other owls and is characterized by dark yellow eyes and dark brown feathers. This bird is mostly found in East and South Asia.

On February 25th 2023, a rare Oriental Horned Owl has been found in Kalyan City and has been given a lifeline by a bird friend. He was stuck in the net of a moth. (Rare Oriental Scops Owl found in Kalyan; A bird friend gave his life)

Municipal secretary Sanjay Jadhav informed bird friend Mahesh Bankar about this as the citizens coming for a walk in the Gandhari area found a bird stuck in the net of a moth. Mahesh Bankar also immediately rushed to Gandhari area and rescued the bird stuck in the net of the kite.

Bird friend Mahesh Bankar informed that this bird is Oriental Scops Owl and it is a rare bird. His body was dehydrated due to being trapped in the bed for many hours and due to the sun. But now his condition is stable and he will be released in his natural habitat tonight, said Bunkar.

Maybes (not sure about but might fit?): Boreal owl, Brown hawk-owl, Great grey owl, long eared owl and the short eared owl
