I remember you once made a post a few years ago about your top 3 animes every year since 2010, but it stopped at 2016. Care to finish the list for the decade?

I’ve always thought about doing that actually, so this was good timing. I’d also just like to highlight the following because I noticed that I had failed to make this clear in my original post - This list incorporates solely the TV series versions of anime, so any OVAs or movies will be excluded. That’s rather painful for me to do because a movie like A Silent Voice is not only my joint favourite anime movie of all time, but it would certainly be in my top 3 anime of the decade in general, but alas, this is the rule that I have chosen.

2010:

Special mentions to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Bakemonogatari, both of which finished airing in 2010, and would have both made the top 3, but they both started airing in 2009 :)

After sound checking and declaring that it's summer and hot in Tokyo, KOKIA immediately launches into her first song, Otomaki utamaki no uta. Two more songs follow before KOKIA hops out of camera view for a bit, returning to enthusiastically talk about her third animal album. It's completed! Seta plays a little riff of the 'ton ton ton' intro song from the second animal album to celebrate. KOKIA is really pleased with the album and she hopes we'll enjoy her new animal friend as she'll sing its song next: kurage, the Jellyfish!

It's still very hot, so KOKIA has to resort to pulling out a fan to get some fresh air.

The next song is Happy birthday to you, which is KOKIA's own song (not a cover of the ubiquitous one). It was released as a digital single, because she felt it was one thing she could do during this corona time. She needs our support and encouragement right now, although she does mention she doesn't want to force us to buy things - she also just wants to make us happy and do something nice, and that's how this song was born. You can still purchase the song, by the way. It's available via many services, which you can find here.

KOKIA is on a roll introducing new songs, because next up is a song she first sang just last month, at Suntory Blue Rose, a concert she gave under corona circumstances. She poured a lot of her current thoughts and feelings into it, and she sings it here now too: Hoshi no uta, the song of stars.

She then returns to an older, but beloved song: I believe ~umi no soko kara~.

Despite the heat, KOKIA's fire over her new animal album hasn't dampened and she happily shows off the pig themed cover, along with the new covers for her previous two animal albums. Volume 1 gets the owl cover, while volume 2 gets the pink elephant.

She then mentions there's a new mini album on its way too, featuring Kotou as well. She sang this song in the previous livestream, but despite having written the song years ago, it was never actually featured on an album until now. Just as the next and final song, because it's new: Kaze ga yuu, the wind whispers.

After an a capella ending, KOKIA mentions that if all goes well, the next livestream will be from the UK. Wherever she is, wherever she goes, she'll always remember us. Thank you for watching and supporting, see you next time!
