is it really a family holiday gathering if u don't end up trying not to cry
#rambles#my cousin's dog peed on one of my gifts 🫠#among other things#once you turn like. 21/22 you're supposed to enter the adult pollyanna#instead of getting gifts from everyone else like you did when you're a kid. you get one gift from your secret santa#and it was my older brother's first year in the pollyanna this year#and yet. and yet. he got legos from half the family. in addition to his pollyanna gift#meanwhile my sister and i (not in the pollyanna yet) just got cash from the same ppl who went out of their way to get him legos#and like. i’ll use the cash. but it kinda feels like they didn't care enough to even think of one thing to get#esp bc we put a bunch of things on the google doc#and all the stuff i put on was like. under $20#like don't get me wrong i am more than grateful that i got money and so much of it too#but it feels hollow
