okay now that i'm no longer trying to keep a project secret from certain people i can complain publicly about a thing i've been losing my mind about:
why the fuck is the evo wiki like that.
listen. i know. i know fandom wikis being decent entirely relies on whether there are people who both want to obsessively categorize things enough to fill out the wiki, with the free time to do that kind of obsessive categorization, and the desire to manage it all as a wiki. believe me, i know. but please i'm just trying to do research please, please at least bigb's page was just Entirely Empty so i knew i had useless information and just left. why the fuck did the mafia's page, by contrast, have this:
Tumblr media
a sentence that is actively LESS USEFUL THAN IF IT WERE NOT THERE.
and then grian's page - GRIAN'S. GRIAN'S. THE ONE PAGE I THOUGHT MIGHT HAVE A SHOT OF BEING FILLED OUT. JOKE'S ON ME I GUESS.
Tumblr media
BECAUSE IT HAS THIS????? I'M LOSING MY MIND. WHY ON EARTH IS THE WIKI LIKE THIS. WHY IS IT THIS BAD. PLEASE I'M JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT EVERYONE'S RELATIONSHIPS WITH JIMMY AND MARTYN WERE PLEASE,
anyway thankfully i had friends who could help me with their own knowledge and who also found the evo recap but in conclusion i have been being driven mad by this for weeks, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

recap: werewolves are assigned with a soulmate and once they reach the age of 23, they would find who their soulmate is. you have always been in denial about being in love with your best friend, johnny. as the clock struck 10:34 pm - the exact time johnny was born - that’s when you felt the universe unfold within your veins. you are johnny’s soulmate. it would have been a successful fairy tale but johnny loves you too much to let it happen.
It has been almost a week since you and Johnny last talked. You thanked the universe for not letting you cross paths with Johnny in school. It would be dishonest to say that your heart isn’t breaking each second you’re away from him. You miss him, so much. It’s only been 5 days since his birthday but you just want to run to his house and see him again. Your friends grew suspicious about what happened between you two. It’s always been Y/N and Johnny every hour of every week. Now, it’s just you.
“Okay, Y/N, cut the bullshit,” Your friend, Nayeon, along with Yeri and Jungwoo, sat in front of you, demanding for answers. “What’s going on between you and Johnny?”
You rolled your eyes. You appreciate their concern so much but you knew they were gonna demand every details about your misunderstanding. Nayeon, Yeri, and Jungwoo are vampires. Vampires aren’t assigned a soulmate. They are free to choose who they’ll spend the rest of their lives with. Although they are also close friends with Johnny and your other friends who are werewolves, you are skeptical if they would understand or not.
“We just had an argument during his birthday. No big deal.” You replied.
“Uh? Of course, it’s a big deal.” Yeri started. “First, you and Johnny? Not talking for almost a week? Second, you two arguing during his birthday?”
“It’s hard to explain, guys.” You sighed.
“We have all day, Y/N. You know you can always talk to us.” Jungwoo said. “Besides, I’ve never seen Johnny this down before.”
You decided to share what happened that night. You knew in yourself that this will spread like wildfire to your circle of friends, or even worse, throughout the whole school. It has always been a big deal whenever a werewolf is soulmates with a human. They will be nosy and concerned. You don’t mind attention but you certainly don’t want to be pitied at. Your heart also ached at the mention of Johnny being sad. All your life, you felt like it was your duty to make sure Johnny is happy and healthy. Now, you sure will beat yourself later at the thought of you not being brave enough to confront him.
---
It was only 2:00 pm but you felt so tired. You felt like Atlas took a break from carrying the world and used you as a substitute. Jungwoo suggested to talk to Johnny as soon as possible. You understand that. You know that the only solution to whatever it is that you’re feeling right now is to talk to him. See what both of you can compromise. But, your mind is still a haze. It was your future you’re talking about. Whether you make this decision or that, it will affect the rest of your life. You wished things didn’t have to be this way. For the first time in your life, you wished Johnny didn’t exist.
You went home immediately after your last class. Your mother was shocked to see you come home early. You always went places with Johnny and your friends. Yeri invited you to go vinyl shopping with her and Jaehyun but you just weren’t in the mood to be fake happy.
“You look so down, sweetheart.” Your mother said as she sat across you on the kitchen island.
“Mom, I have to tell you something.” You sighed. You hated making your mother worried. But you knew that sharing this with her will help you somehow, hopefully.
Your mother stared intently at you, waiting for you to say whatever you had to say.
“I’m soulmates with Johnny.” You started. She leaned back on her seat, taken aback from your confession. “Remember last Saturday? During his birthday? We just found out that night.”
“Then, why are you so down?” She asked. “He’s your best friend since forever. I trust him and you trust him.”
“I don’t know, mom,” You felt tears form. “It’s just that - I’m scared. You know how risky it is for humans to be mates with werewolves. Remember Mingyu’s mother? She survived the transformation but she died after giving birth. I want to see the whole world when I’m 80, mom. I don’t want to die so young.”
Your mother hugged you. You knew she didn’t have an answer. She was fortunate enough to not be soulmates with a werewolf.
“You know, sweetheart, I had to give up a lot of things when I decided to marry your dad. I had to give up my wild nights with friends, my freedom of being single, the apartment that I loved so much. I loved these things so much because they made me who I am.” She said. “But you know what? I never missed them. I would trade so many of my yesterdays to have a tomorrow with your father. It was scary at first, I almost ran away during our wedding. But every night he would come up to me and make me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world, I immediately thanked God I never ran away.”
“That’s sweet and all, mom, but you’re not gonna die if you and dad mate.” You said bitterly through tears.
“I know, sweetheart. I know it’s unfair to you. But, I don’t want you to die without the love of your life on your side. Johnny is a good man. He would fight all of the odds for you and you, out of all the people in this world, should know that.” She said. “Our lives are full of risks. This wont be the only risk that you’ll take during your life.”
Later that night, you stared at the polaroid pictures that are glued on your wall. These were pictures of you, Johnny, and your friends. Your eyes landed on a picture of Johnny with a tub of ice cream. He knew you love ice cream so whenever you feel down, rest assured that he will be on your side with a tub of ice cream. He just knew what to do. It was like he was made to be your perfect fit. Almost immediately, you came into the conclusion that you were willing to risk it for Johnny. You were tired of feeling worried over things that haven’t happened yet.
---
You woke up with a livelier spirit than yesterday. You were still worried of what will Johnny say but the only thing you can do for now is not worry about things that haven’t happened. You decided to give him his favorite yogurt and flower as a peace offering. Today, you are willing to sort things out with him. You couldn’t bear another day with things not okay between you two. Before you left your house, you asked the sky above to give you a sign. You were willing to take whatever sign it gives you.
You entered the lecture hall and noticed that everyone’s mood was gloomy. Your professor, Mrs. Bae, was already in front with a sad frown on her face. Did someone die today? She waited for two more people to arrive before speaking. You were worried that it might be someone from your circle or worse, Johnny.
“We received the news early this morning that one of your classmate, Kim Soohyun, passed away last night.” She spoke. “Let’s give a moment of silence for her, her family, her friends, and her significant other, Choi Hansol.”
Your breath hitched when Mrs. Bae mentioned Hansol as her significant other. Hansol belonged to Johnny’s pack, meaning he is a werewolf. And Soohyun was human. As if on cue, Nayeon whispered to you.
“I heard she died from transformation.” She looked at you with so much worry on her eyes.
Your heart was beating so much and you started to struggle catching up with it. Today was supposed to be the day you agree on being Johnny’s mate. You shouldn’t have asked for a sign. Earlier, you were so sure of your decisions. Now, you weren’t sure if you wanna see Johnny today. Looks like the universe really fucking hates your guts. You were supposed to have your peace of mind. You looked down at the yogurt and flower that you were supposed to give Johnny. You refused to believe that Soohyun’s death was a sign for you to rethink your decision but sooner or later, you found yourself throwing the flower to the nearest garbage bin and eating Johnny’s yogurt.
---
Day by day, you feel your friendship with Johnny deteriorating slowly. Soohyun’s death shouldn’t have affected you so much but for some strange reason, it did.
“You’re really not gonna fix anything by avoiding your problems.” Your friend, Jaehyun spoke beside you. You really shouldn’t be talking to him because you knew as one of Johnny’s closest friend, he would never stop convincing you to talking with Johnny. Jaehyun was also a member of Johnny’s pack. Jaehyun’s father is Johnny’s father’s right hand, meaning he is the beta of the pack. Jaehyun and Johnny are so close to each other, probably much closer than you and Johnny. You knew he would always have Johnny’s back just like you do. So, it doesn’t surprise you if he wanted to fix the problem between you and Johnny.
“How is he?” You asked, genuinely concerned for Johnny.
“To be really honest, I don’t think he can graduate if this problem doesn’t get solved.” He replied. “You probably think that I’m exaggerating this for you to talk to him immediately. Our graduation is just around the corner. If you don’t want to put your future at risk, at least don’t try to put his on a tight rope as well.”
You hated the fact that he was right. You were starting to feel selfish, too cowardly. Johnny was always brave whenever you needed help. It was time you became brave for him.
---
The loud music blasted through the walls of Lucas’ house. Here is where all the college parties are held. Lucas is also one of your closest friends. He’s a human who is dating Wendy, a vampire. Tonight was the farewell party of the graduating class of this year. You weren’t in the mood to come but you knew Johnny was gonna be here since he one of the graduating students.
You decided to get at least a little bit tipsy before you confront Johnny. With the help of your ever-supportive friends, your mind was hazy immediately. It was not a hassle for you to find him in parties. He is either playing beer pong, in the kitchen mixing up drinks with Taeyong, or in the dance floor with the other friends you shared. You spotted him standing quietly near the snacks corner. You know the reason why he isn’t as upbeat as he usually is. You stood next to him and he immediately noticed you. You didn’t know what to do or what to say.
“Hi.” You squeaked out.
“Hey,” He replied, giving you a warm smile. The smile that you fell in love with. You haven’t seen that smile in a while.
“I would give anything to see that smile for the rest of your life” It took you a few seconds to realize that you said that out loud. Damn this cocktail.
“Yeah, nice to see you again too, Y/N,” You noticed how his mood seemed to lit up. He looked down on you. You both haven’t said so much but he knew that things are finally okay. He got the picture.
“So, is this your response about what he learned during my birthday?” He said, lifting his cup to drink whatever is left of the drink.
“Yeah, look. I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I put you through hell because I was too much of a coward to talk to you. I’m sorry that I left you all confused and-” Your ranting got cut off when you felt his soft lips against yours. Each movement of his lips signifies his undying love for you. It signifies how he will always forgive you and accept your flaws that annoyed him to the core. It signifies that he wanted you to know that you were his and he was yours, forever. He lead you through the balcony of Lucas’ house, where no one was present.
“I love you,” You said after you pulled away. “I’m willing to risk everything for you. I would trade all my tomorrows for at least a minute with you.”
You didn’t realize that you were crying until he was wiping your cheeks with his thumb. His hands still cups your face as he stares down at you. You were expecting him to say the same but all you saw his head shaking from left to right.
“No,” he whispered. “I love you too, Y/N, so much. I’ve loved you for as long as I could remember. All the nights we spent tangled up in each other and telling one another how we’re just friends. All the make out session we had in the back of my car. The best of times, the worst of times. I’ve loved you through it all. But I can’t do this to you, Y/N. You deserve to live the best life you’ve set up for yourself until you grow old and wrinkly.”
You stared at him, tears flowing from your eyes. He hated seeing you cry. He could kill anyone or anything that made you cry. “You can do this with me, Johnny. If I die, at least I die by your side. I will die knowing that you made me yours. And to the die by your side is the perfect way I could die.”
He continued shaking his head, his own tears staining his flawless skin. “We don’t have to transform you.”
“But you need an heir. You need an offspring to be the next alpha after you.” You replied. “And I want to give that to you.”
“God knows how much I want to start a family with you too.” He said.
“Then, what’s stopping you, Johnny?” You asked him. You were so desperate to leave this party with you and Johnny being okay.
“I love you. That’s what’s stopping me.” He responded. The effects of the alcohol was slowly leaving your system. You were growing tired of this fight. You were never a patient woman but you pushed through just to make this right.
You remained in silence, looking up at the starry night. You asked the sky for one more sign. If only the answer to everything was written in the sky, you would have it all by now. But life doesn’t work that way. Sometimes, you have to ruin yourself to find the answer.
“I accepted a job offer in the city today. I leave in 2 days.” He said all of sudden. There. There was your sign. You sighed and look at him, with pride and sadness. You were so proud of him. You saw him struggle with college and now he immediately has a job in the city. But you were also sad. He accepted it without even talking to you - his best friend, and his soulmate. You couldn’t blame him. He probably wanted to get away from you after everything.
---
Johnny leaves for the city tomorrow morning. You have wallowed in self-pity the whole day. You looked at yourself in the mirror and saw how wrecked you looked. If only you fixed this as soon as possible, he probably wouldn’t leave. You scratched that thought out of your head. That was selfish. Johnny pushed aside his feeling for you so that you could have your dream. It’s time for you to stop being selfish and let him have his. You decided you wanted to see him before he left. This will probably the last time you will see each other so you were determined to fix the broken bond between you two.
You arrived at his house after a few minutes. His house wasn’t far from yours. The moment he opened his door, you attached your lips into his. You kissed him as if you’re begging for him to not leave you. He lead you both to his room and locked the door.
He kissed you first on the lips and soon, he traveled down your neck. The back of your needs hit the edge of his bed and he gently laid you down on it. It’s been a while since the last time you slept together. You weren’t planning on sleeping with him tonight but you wanted to make sure his last night with you was worth it.
It took an hour for the both of you to finish making love. Your head laid on his chest as your limbs tangled upon each other.
“You’re leaving tomorrow.” You announced.
“Yep,” He responded. His fingers drew relaxing figures on your bare back. “Okay.”
You looked up at him, confusion written on your face. What did he mean by “okay”?
Sensing your inquiring stare, he responded, “I can’t accept a life wherein I don’t get to hold you every night.”
He sat up on the edge of his bed, the moonlight that shone through his window lighted up his face. You followed, resting your chin on his shoulder as your arms wrapped around his body savoring the last moments before he leaves for the city.
“Find me immediately after you design a house, a building, something.” He said with conviction, staring deeply into your eyes as if wanting you to memorize what he is saying. “Find me immediately. I will wait for you. Even if it takes a couple more years.”
You felt tears streaming down your cheeks. You love him so much. You would take any compromise only if it means being with him in the end. You nodded, pressing a kiss on his shoulder.
“No other love, except me.” He stated.
“No other love, only you.” You said.
a/n: i hope you enjoyed this! as always, feedback and requests are always welcome.

La Sirena - Chapter Six
Tumblr media
Captain Swan Supernatural Summer
It has been far too long since I've been able to update my @cssns story and for that, I apologize.I have been so bogged down with stress and frustrations and just couldn't force myself to write. There was no solace in writing as I’ve usually found so I had to step away for a few weeks.
I'm finally in a better mindset and while things may not be perfect, some creative juices are flowing once again and now I’m working to get some new chapters out!  Thank you @kmomof4 for your patience with me and for your wonderful beta services and once again, thanks to @courtorderedcake for the beautiful artwork displayed above!
Since it’s been a while, here’s a brief recap of the last chapter. When we left off, Killian had just been stunned to discover that his beautiful companion, Emma, was in fact a siren. She chose to reveal herself after a visit from her sister, Regina and decided that it would be better for Killian to know what she really was before Regina returned with other members of the siren council. Emma also raised the question of how Killian survived the siren attack on the pirate ship where he'd been held captive so he asked her to do the one thing she absolutely didn't want to do - sing.
Recap from the beginning:  One  Two  Three  Four  Five   FF.net  AO3
Myth and Legends Combined
"I will need to transform back into an aquatic form," Emma stated with little emotion as she dipped her bare foot into the steamy spring that sparkled beneath the midday sun streaming from above. She sensed no warmth from the water finding it strangely icy against her human skin. There were no more words exchanged as she lowered herself into the pool and allowed her metamorphosis to begin.
Killian watched her transformation with a lingering trepidation. He remained in awe of the fact that he was stranded here on this remote isle with a legendary creature yet he was still somewhat fearful of her reality - and of the act he'd just implored her to perform. He had knowingly just asked a siren to sing to him without any inkling of what the result may be. He had no idea if he was about to be bewitched into potentially drowning himself in this subterranean spring and he dared admit only to himself that he was frightened.
The silence that fell between them as she dove beneath the sparkling blue ripples spoke volumes of her reluctance and as she surfaced, she anxiously flicked her tail fin a few times before pushing herself out of the water. Perching atop a flat slab of volcanic rock, she drew her shimmering tail up close against her torso in the way she might hug her knees were she still in human form. She lowered her eyelids, hoping to shut out whatever horrors might await her as she struggled to draw in a breath.
As much as she didn't want to do this, she knew in her heart that Killian was correct. He'd been spared death to end up marooned in her cove but how and why had it happened? They would have no answers at all until they could learn why he had not heard the sirens when they swarmed the pirate ship that fateful day. But would she even remember how to form those perilous notes? It had been so many years… So many lifetimes ago…
When she first dared to part her lips to sing, only a strangled squeak escaped. She opened her eyes for assurance that Killian was still there, finding strength in the sight of his tousled dark hair and hopeful sapphire eyes. She drew in a deep breath, placing her hands atop her abdomen as the dulcet tones materialized in the back of her throat then filled the cavern with their eerily placid symphony.
She dared sing only a single, curt stanza, unable to process more of the cursed music that she had sworn would never pass from her lungs again. She was finished with this forever, especially if she might have allowed any harm to come to Killian. She was relieved to see him still kneeling in the sand, eagerly staring across the spring at her, his expression seemingly unchanged from before she'd closed her eyes. Maybe the few bars she'd sung had not been enough to invoke the hypnotic effect?
"Are you alright?" she called out to him. "Have you felt any ill effects from my singing?"
Killian's brow scrunched in bewilderment as he found himself staring at the swirl of her delicate fins against the pool's surface.
"I've been waiting for you to begin, love," he replied. "I have beheld you drawing several breaths but I sensed your apprehension."
"Killian, I have already sung several notes. My voice filled this entire chamber. You heard nothing of the like?"
"I hear your voice speaking clearly now and I heard the bubbles and trickles of the spring," he explained as her eyes widened in amazement. With another deep breath, she forced herself to repeat the stanza with increased volume, projecting her voice further. As before, Killian watched her mouth open but he heard no sound exiting her throat. "Do you taunt me, Emma?" he scowled. "I see you part your lips yet the only sound I hear is when you speak."
Emma giddily splashed her tail about the spring as her face lit up with a huge grin, sending a spray up into the air that rained down around her.
"You did not hear me singing! Not a single note!" she exclaimed excitedly. "That's how you survived when the sirens attacked the ship. You do appear to have an innate immunity to the song."
He quirked an eyebrow as he contemplated the meaning of her statements. "So, it would seem that I possess an immunity to something that before today, I didn't even know was real…" He shook his head in disbelief as Emma morphed back into human form and donned her linen dress so she wouldn't further assault his senses before she rejoined him beside her magically conjured chests.
She lowered herself to her knees, meeting him at his current level while leaving a respectable distance between them. She couldn't be certain of the status of their tenuous relationship at this juncture so she gave him some space. Killian stared down at his own thighs for a few tense moments until he finally broke the awkward silence.
"So then… Where do we go from here? What exactly does all of this mean for us?" he asked her, his voice barely more than a whisper as he raised his eyes to meet hers. There was such an unease to his gaze that she was tempted to look away, but she resisted.
"Killian, if I have lost your trust with my deception, I am truly sorry. You are the first and only human I have ever conversed with and in truth, I have as much to learn about you as you do about me."
"Aye," he responded sullenly with a subtle dip of his chin, recalling his own desire to learn her secrets. And learn them, he did!
"Right now, we have only each other here," she reminded him as well. It wasn't as though he had a way of escaping this cove, although Emma seemed to read his mind as she continued. "I suppose I could provide you with the materials to build yourself a small boat. I could even magically conjure the entire vessel for you but any additional use of my powers would only expedite my sister's return. Even though you are unable to succumb to the siren song, my kind would still make any attempted passage back to your world treacherous."
"And then what, pray tell, is my alternative?" he countered, his voice raising with pent up frustration. He'd been unwittingly pulled into this supernatural battle of wills but it didn't mean he wanted any part of it.
"We will need to work together and appeal to Poseidon. I believe only he may be able to provide the answer as to why you possess immunity to the sirens. He can also provide a way for you to cross back between realms."
Appeal to a god? The mere thought of that wasn't making Killian feel any more confident. "Just how does one appeal to Poseidon?" he asked her with a skeptical crinkle of his brow.
"We must first prove your worth," she answered him, but as she did, she timidly cast her gaze off to her left, unable to look directly at him. "You'll likely be tasked to survive the chorus of sirens once again…"
"Which I most certainly should be able to do as I've heard no cursed music so far." He struggled to read her expression when she broke eye contact as her body language wasn't inspiring confidence. "Is there something you're not telling me, love?"
Emma exhaled an exasperated sigh as she raised her eyes to meet his. "To garner the attention of the god of the seas, you will first have to prove yourself to his brother, Triton. He has been highly protective of this realm since the Atlantean disaster…"
"Atlantean?" he repeated, incredulously. "As in the mythical civilization of Atlantis?"
"The kingdom of Atlantis was no myth. It has only been gone from memory for many centuries after Triton wiped their kingdom from the Earth for their insolence."
Killian shifted his weight back onto his haunches before collapsing onto his backside in the soft sand. His hands cupped his jaw as he leaned into the closest trunk for support while attempting to digest all that Emma had thrown at him over the course of this day. First, that she was a mythical beast of maritime legend and now - this? Atlantis? He had heard countless tales of the legendary, supposedly highly advanced civilization that had vanished into the annals of lore long before his birth. Yet somehow, these stories were now connected to him?
"Emma, love… Perhaps I fail to see the connection here but why would the legendary Atlantis have anything to do with a simple sailor such as myself?"
"Do you remember what I had told you earlier about there having been one human who was deemed worthy of entering our realm?" she asked him as Killian nodded his head in befuddled agreement, the specifics of her earlier words currently eluding him. "That one man was a wise sailor who was allowed passage through our realm to an uninhabited island paradise where our Poseidon permitted him to establish a colony. Boatloads of peaceful settlers arrived and were granted permission to cross through the veil unimpeded by the sirens and in return for the materials needed to build their new civilization, the settlers gave praise and offerings to Poseidon and Triton.
"Gods and humans mingled for years in this new kingdom and during those prosperous years, the worthy sailor met and fell in love with Poseidon's eldest daughter, Ursula. Poseidon gave his blessing for the two to be wed, despite his brother's protest. For as long as the sailor lived, his family and the entire civilization of Atlantis thrived, but after a few generations, legend has it that his descendants became too conceited for their own good. They grew boastful of their demi-god status and flaunted the technology that the gods had helped them develop. Eventually, they grew spiteful and evil, using the magical powers they had inherited from Ursula to expand their influence over other civilizations - and against the gods themselves. Triton's patience with the Atlanteans waned and he retaliated, plunging the entire island kingdom far beneath the waves and leaving no trace of their existence.
"Now," she began again after a brief pause for breath, "all of this occurred long before my creation but I do know that as a result of the fall of Atlantis, myself and dozens of other sirens were birthed to patrol our seas. We were tasked with destroying the evil scourge of men who dared enter the sovereign seas of the gods. Men who were so easily tempted by our melodious song. For decades, I served the gods without question, until I could do it no longer…"
"I grew up hearing tales of Atlantis," Killian spoke up as Emma blanched from guilt. "The stories weren't all that different from what you've just recounted but because no trace of Atlantis exists, most historians have relegated the civilization to mere legend. Those of us who have sailed the vast oceans of the world do understand how the sea might reclaim an entire civilization and leave nothing behind for eyes to behold. So many mysteries may lie beneath those azure depths… The thing is, I still do not understand how this relates to my predicament."
"There have long been rumors amongst the sirens and other creatures of the sea that before Triton destroyed Atlantis, Poseidon and Ursula located and secreted away a select few of their descendants who had not abused their lineage and gifts. It's said that those of their line would forever be immune from Triton's wrath and his barriers protecting the realm. I have never had reason to believe that it might be true, at least not until you floated into my bay. Today, I now firmly believe that the legends are true…"
He stared blankly at her for a few minutes, focusing on the darting shadows cast by the flickering torch on the cavern wall behind him. After a fleeting moment, he blinked as the shockwave of her latest bombshell enveloped him.
"Are you trying to imply that I may be a direct, distant relative to Poseidon himself?" he questioned incredulously, suddenly lightheaded from the barrage of thoughts bombarding his brain. He didn't even need to hear her speak the response as he didn't dare allow his ears to take in such nonsense…
But what if…?

Revenge (Trixya) Chapter 2 - Cinnamon
AN: Wow it’s been so long! It literally took me a month to write the second chapter. I’ve been struggling lately but hopefully I will update more often now! Probably no one remembers this story so here’s a small recap: Katya meets her ex boyfriend Jack (Random name! I’m not talking about anyone in particular) one day and she decides to make him pay for everything that he had put her through.
Hope you like it! I really appreciate feedback and suggestions <3
Shout out to my beta @milakristina for being awesome!
Katya woke up for the hundredth time that night. She lazily opened her eyes, tired of constantly waking up and falling asleep again, and she gazed out the window. It was beginning to get light out so she decided to get up, knowing that she wasn’t gonna have a peaceful sleep if she stayed in bed. A chill crossed her spine when she stood up to go to the bathroom and she put her red robe on, even though she knew that the chills weren’t because she was cold. She tried not to think about the previous night’s events, she needed to focus on her plan.
She entered the bathroom and turned on the lights, closing her eyes instantly, bothered by the sudden light. Once she got used to it, she looked at herself in the mirror. She looked like shit.
“Aah, what a great way to start the day.”
She touched her cheeks with her always cold hands, looking closely at the bags under her eyes. It was obvious that she had had a rough night, but it was nothing make-up couldn’t fix. She needed to look spectacular that day.
She left the bathroom and headed to the small kitchen, heating some water to make herself a cup of tea. She walked back to her room and opened her wardrobe. She took her bag from the top shelf and began filling it with her clothes and personal items. She did it so furiously that no one would have known that she had completely broken down the night before.
“Everything’s gonna change from now on. He’s gonna pay for what he did to me, for what he’s probably doing to that fool of a Barbie doll.”
She felt a sharp pain in her heart at the thought of his current girlfriend. He was obviously cheating on her, he had to be, he was a cheater. There was no way that it had been her fault, that she hadn’t been enough for him, that she had been such a failure that he had had to find someone better than her. Katya’s mind started racing, suddenly unsure of her plan, but the piercing shriek of the teapot brought her back to reality.
“My tea!”
…
About two hours later Katya was ready. They were caught in the middle of summer, but her house was surrounded by trees and the sun wasn’t completely up yet, so it was quite cold outside. Her long wavy hair was falling down her shoulders and almost touching her hips, she was wearing a tight black dress with a red cape on top of it, and a dead raccoon on her head (she had named the creature Cheryl, courtesy of a Russian teacher she had once had). Anxiety was taking over her body. Typical Katya. She sighed and closed the door of her house sadly; She was definitely going to miss that place.
Her taxi was late, which was understandable because the village she lived in was isolated from the rest of the world. She lit a cigarette and let the smoke enter her lungs.
“This village is literally in the middle of nowhere. How on earth did he find it? Lots of people come to the lake, especially during the summer, but this can’t be a coincidence…”
The taxi finally arrived, and the driver offered to put her bag on the trunk. She opened the door of the car and got in it, appreciating the warmth she was greeted with. When the driver was back in, she told him the address and the vehicle started moving. They had a long drive ahead, and Katya feared the price of it, but the bus wasn’t an option. Neither was the train, she needed to be alone.
She started to feel sleepy, and she covered herself with the cape. She placed Cheryl between the window and her head and drifted into a much needed sleep. She woke up feeling slightly disoriented, but she soon realized where she was, and where she was heading. She sat up and started looking for the piece of paper that she had put into her pocket before. When she found it, she opened it and read its content once again. She knew the words by heart, but reading them over and over again helped her calm down.
Katya had always had a great memory, so she had no trouble remembering Jack’s car’s license plate, and with some extra help from a couple of her old friends, who fortunately asked no questions, she got his address in a matter of minutes. Katya smiled and thanked God for the night she got to spend with those hackers some years ago.
“Who knew I could use their skills for something as important as this.”
Suddenly the car stopped and Katya looked at the driver, who smiled. “We’re here.” Katya nodded and paid him, generously tipping him, and got out of the car. She got her bag back and stared at the house that was in front of her. It was bigger than the one they used to share, and it was definitely in a neighborhood she didn’t know of. She took her phone from her pocket and looked for cheap hotels she could spend the night in. She found one a few streets away from the house and started walking there.
Katya let herself fall into the bed of her hotel bedroom with a sigh, and looked at the ceiling blankly. She closed her eyes and strongly massaged her face, trying to think straight for a moment.
“I’m doing this. I’m really doing this.”
She felt a wave of nausea and she took a deep breath trying to stop it. She was going to be okay, she just needed a plan. She sat up and looked at the time. Her friends had told her that Jack was still working at the same company he used to when they were together. She should go and spy on him for a while, she couldn’t just go and enter his life again without knowing if he had changed. Katya didn’t want to admit it, but maybe she had been the problem.
She arrived to the company Jack worked at too early, but she found a nice coffee shop on the other side of the street, so she sat outside and ordered a coffee while she waited. She lit another cigarette, her lungs filled with smoke again, and looked around. The town hadn’t changed much since she had left, but it looked different, maybe because she had changed so much.
She tried to look at the entrance of the building as much as she could, not wanting to miss him. An hour passed by and he finally walked out of the building. He wasn’t alone, a brunette woman was walking next to him, laughing. She was really tall and slim, and she didn’t care that his hand was on the lower part of her back. They walked to the bar next to the office, and luckily for Katya, they sat at the table next to the big window, the one that used to be their table. Katya started to feel angry and tried to calm down.
“Breathe. You are better off without him, you don’t need him or that stupid table, or the house you used to share with him, or this town. You don’t need all of that. You are okay.”
She tried to think about something else, something less frustrating. She lit another cigarette. Why was he still going to the same bar? Katya wondered if he took all of his lovers there. Didn’t he care about what the people of the bar thought about him and his infidelity? Was he proud?
Katya didn’t have time to jump into conclusions. Jack and that woman were fully making out in front of her eyes. Katya’s feelings were bittersweet. She felt slightly sad, but she mostly felt excited and happy. He was still a cheater. She had all the information she needed to start acting. He was going to pay.
“Same story, different bitch. All I needed to know.”
Katya grabbed her purse and left the coffee shop after paying for her drink. She decided to go back to their house and carry on with her plan, to actually go inside. She proudly smiled to herself. She felt like one of those hot detectives from the series she usually binge-watched.
When she was getting close to the house she suddenly realized that she didn’t have a good excuse to get in. Sure, she could just tell that Barbie doll a lie and make her invite her inside, but then what? She couldn’t go in and then leave just to come again the following day. That made no sense, the point was to stay, but how? She was thinking about going back to her hotel and think about a decent plan when she saw a sign next to the house that she hadn’t seen before. Apparently they were looking for a domestic worker.
“Bingo.”
Katya took a deep breath and walked to the door. Part of her anxious self was praying that the Barbie wasn’t home, the rest of her brain couldn’t wait to go in. She knocked on the door and waited for a few seconds.
She heard steps inside the house and suddenly the door opened in front of her awaiting eyes. There she was, Jack’s famous new girl. She was tall and curvy, with big blonde hair and sparkly blue eyes. Barbie was pretty, really pretty. Gorgeous. Katya felt a pang of jealousy.
“Hello, can I help you?” Their eyes locked for a moment.
“Umm, hi! My name is Katya, I came here because of the sign you have outside.. If it’s a bad time, I can come later-“
“No, no!” She smiled and Katya admired her grin. “I’m so happy that you’re here. I’m Trixie.” Before she could think about what to say next, she felt Trixie’s arms around her, giving her a tight hug. Katya carefully put her arms around her back, barely touching her, dazed by the sudden contact. The hug seemed too long for Katya, but when they pulled away Trixie was still smiling like nothing had happened, so Katya guessed that it was just her brain playing tricks on her. “Come on in! Katya, right?”
“Yes.” Katya stepped inside, unconsciously looking around trying to find something that reminded her of him, but she couldn’t find anything.
“Let’s go to the kitchen. I was just making tea, we can talk there.” Katya noticed the joy in Trixie’s voice, she really did seem happy to have her there. And she was indeed, happy to be in that house as well.
Katya took a sip of the tea Trixie had served her. She was sitting in front of her, also holding a steaming cup.
“I am so happy that you came. We were desperate.” She giggled. “He’s outside all day, and I work here, so I don’t have much time to do anything either.” Katya’s eyes widened.
“You work here?”
“Yes! I have a make-up studio upstairs. I design and try new looks, and people call me if they want me to paint their face. Weddings are my speciality.” She sweetly smiled. “Sometimes my clients come here as well, and I can’t let them see a messy place. We would be so thankful if you stayed, Katya, I mean it. We both have so much work to do and this house is too big.”
Katya smiled and nodded. If it had been someone else talking, she would have thought that they were bragging about the perfect life they had, but she knew Trixie was telling the truth. She was treating her so well without even knowing her, and Katya was thankful.
“You should stay here, we have a spare room upstairs, you can stay there. And don’t worry about money. Just ask us what you need and we will discuss it, okay?” Trixie smiled again and Katya shyly did too.
Katya hadn’t expected Jack’s new girlfriend to be that sweet. She actually didn’t know what she was expecting, but surely not someone as nice and as… Perfect as she was. How was she going to destroy her relationship with him and not feel bad about it? He was cheating on her, but it was none of Katya’s business… Except it was. Katya was confused.
She suddenly felt a warm hand on her shoulder and even a warmer smile close to her face. She was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn’t see Trixie moving her chair to be sitting next to her.
“You seem nervous. Don’t be.” Katya looked down. “You know… You don’t know Jack yet but he’s a great guy.” Katya made a huge effort not to laugh. She smiled instead, looking back at her.
“I’m sure he is. I can’t wait to meet him.” Katya’s nerves were once again replaced with excitement. She definitely couldn’t wait anymore. She suddenly heard the door opening and Trixie stood up, right before Katya did. Finally.
They walked to the living room and Trixie gave him a hug. Katya stood close to the kitchen door, hugging her arms because they had unconsciously started shaking. She had no idea that seeing him face to face would have such an impact. She was waiting for him after all.
“Calm down. Calm the fuck down! He can’t see you shaking and looking insecure. That will only make him think that he’s in control and he’s not. You are in control.”
“We can take the sign we had outside off, someone came to apply for the job!” Trixie said happily. “Let me introduce you to her, she’s over there.” Katya took a step forward and waited for him to look at her. Oh man when he did. His expression changed in a matter of seconds when he recognized her. Katya had never seen such a petrified face before, priceless. She stood there with a devilish grin on her face, making eye contact. She felt Trixie’s gaze on her, and she tried to act as natural as possible. She didn’t want the other woman to suspect anything.
“Hello, I’m Katya.” Jack looked at the woman in front of him not believing his eyes. That couldn’t be her, except that she was. He swallowed, trying not to look at Trixie.
“Hi.” He said quickly. Katya was enjoying herself. She knew what she was doing, and the most important thing, he knew that she knew what she was doing. “Uhm, honey, can we talk in the kitchen?”
“Sure.” They walked past Katya and she touched her arm, smiling. “We’ll be back.”
They closed the door behind them when they went to the kitchen. Katya sighed loudly, her legs shaking due to the stressful situation. They were talking quietly but Katya could hear part of what Trixie was saying.
“What are you talking about? We need someone here, you know this! In fact, it was your idea to hire someone. Yes I’ve talked to her. No. No, Jack. She’s staying with us.”
They stopped talking and Katya could see the shadow of them kissing. She looked away trying not to be bothered. She focused on the important fact, she was staying.
