ummm initial thoughts on stranger things 2

bad stuff first sorry sorry sorry

I HATED EPISODE 7. I HATED IT SOOO MUCH WOW i just. can’t stand how it veered off course after that crazy cliffhanger the episode before. I took a break and ran to the store because I was starving and couldn’t wait to get back into it. Blaaahh so let down. and it was so fucking cliche ughhhh I was rolling my eyes the entire time. stupid stupid stupid

i really didn’t like any of the new characters except Bob and I love Sean Astin so much SO DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING PISSED I AM THAT HE HAD TO DIE WOWWWWW. Like I don’t want to sound immature. He was the ONLY good new guy so I’m just?? Mad?? I LOVE HIM 👎👎👎😡😡😡

already talked about the cat lmao. rip mews BUT TEWS!! SO CUTE. PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS

i’m so sorry but max was really annoying and had literally no purpose to the plot other than to create YET ANOTHER love triangle in this triangle of triangles for the boys and to just add a girl into the mix. like i appreciate adding more female characters into a male heavy show, its a nice sentiment, but it felt really lazy to me and i didn’t like it :/// it was kind of one of those “she’s tough and cool! that makes her a good character!!” but she provided nothing??? to the actual story??? except i guess at the end when they steal her crazy step-brother’s car

okay that was the worst stuff i can think of. i’m calm now. the rest of the show was fine.

the last episode was really good, the stuff I was waiting for the whole time, but i don’t know if it can make up for that dumb stuff. Good but still lacking that emotional gravitas the first season’s climax had. i still get emotional thinking about it. i probably shouldn’t always compare, but that was just such a powerful ending and i can’t help but expect the same or similar y’know.

Gaten was fucking hilarious

Steve steals the show once again and I loved the Steve & Dustin team up lmaooo

Great music once again, and I loved the use of transitions

EDIT oh yeah and of course Winona Ryder was incredible and so was David Harbour and they’re probably gonna get Emmy noms for this yadda yadda. I mean obviously

And the kids too i mean wow. Finn Wolfhard in this vs his killer performance in It I mean he has so much emotional range but he’s so young wtf. All of them though, Noah Schnapp really breaks your heart and of course Millie proves once again she’s the best. They continue to impress me

Overall I don’t know. My gut feeling is season 1 is better. This had some good moments and ramped up the stakes and excitement & I teared up a lot but fam I just. Really fucking hated that episode. And they killed both a cat AND Sean Astin lmao. I wouldn’t have been so mad about that if the other new characters were as near as good as him. Ughhh opportunities wasted. I appreciate what this season was doing but personally didn’t like a few things.

I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews though, and I really hope I’m not being mean, I was really excited for this and I’m usually not one to nitpick. I feel bad.
