the amount of love i have for stories where theres a character whos a bad parent (or even bad teacher, bad boss, bad ect.) but in the story realized how bad theyve been to their kid (or like. student, worker, ect) and actively try to make up for it and become a better person

#i was thinking of so many examples #its bc coris mum is like the mom version of why i love that one part in nwh #(esp in the production from like 2013 ish? that ending scene was heartbreaking)#but like. actually theres a heckton of examples (k f p for the second one for instance)#and ofc the original was acc imo. i mean maybe theres like an ancient story similar but to me acc will be the original of this trope #idk it just hits me in the heart especially and i realized that when i saw nwh lol #oh and renrens dad is actually another example of this also!#gosh i love this trope so much #joseph in part 4 might also be sorta this a little #but hes like the rare instance where he was a bad parent/lover but in his other appearances he did good by ppl mostly #idk hes the grey area of this lol #shouting spongebob meme i love characters who were awful but realized it and are trying to be better! i love that!#i love little banstards who dont care that theyre an ass but theres a special place in my heart for characters like this #hot take: nwh is actually quite similar to acc. they both have a time/dimension element and redeeming a mean character(s)#and the main characters are three guys with extraordinary powers beyond that of humans #tv show rambles #about me #idk what to tag this
