society if white people saw culture as more nuanced than the "all around the globe" videos they watched in elementary school
#culture is. again. the filter through which you experience the world#what you see is the APPLICATION of it#if i live in the middle east and we have little rainfall and too much sun and date trees and wells#well its not so shocking we had rain and moon gods and still place ridiculous health values on dates and venerate certain water wells#if i only have access to certain fabrics and certain clothing layouts thatd protect me from the sun#of COURSE im going to wear the type of clothes thatd protect my skin#and then of course id give it a significance#if we actually thought about culture as complex as it is then there literally wouldnt be racism dude#poc#woc#racism#oppression#culture#anthropology
