nothing at all! I will ramble for free! Imanishi is a student at shujin and a member of its newspaper club. Running the rumour mill is his favourite pastime. His element is psy, and his persona is koschei.

He's my oc for p5 and I've been spinning his character design idly in my head for weeks. He doesn't have a backstory yet, but that's okay 'cause he looks cool.

I still haven't figured out Imanishi's backstory, but I think I got most of his technical details down.

He's a Psy skill user, and he specializes in inflicting status ailments and dealing technical damage. His persona is Koschei. His melee weapon is a katar, and his ranged weapon is a crossbow. His codename is Silver.

His arcana is the Five of Wands, but if I had to choose from the major arcana I'd label him as the Magician. (If i have one major complaint about royal, it's that they made up fake major arcana for the new characters when the minor arcana was right there).

Haven’t heard from Chuuya in a minute so this might sound weird: what are your thoughts on a fic featuring your OC? It’s not like I’d publicly upload anything, but my mind’s been hooked on that Imanishi-Ann confrontation. Something about it stuck with me and lead to an idea for a brief one-shot, but I wanted to make sure you didn’t mind OC fics before I explore the concept.

How does Imanishi fit into the social environment of Shujin Academy? I get the impression he isn’t close with anyone, but I’m curious if any familiar faces there at least know him by name, or if he’s a total enigma

Oddly enough, I think Makoto would know him, but in a passing acquaintance kind of way. He's got his finger buried in the rumour mill for sure, and I think one way he feeds it is through the newspaper club. So yeah, Imanishi is a newspaper club member, and that would probably lead to at least one interaction with the student council.

But yeah, you're spot on. He isn't close with anyone, and will give false info about himself when asked. I imagine that the other club members think that they're friends on some level, but in reality that friendship is extremely one sided.

keeping chuuya in the background is an interesting way of fitting an original character into a pre-existing world, i guess he’d be more prone to running into joker’s non-PT confidants than joker himself. (do his rumor-mongering habits have any connection to Persona 2, or is that entirely coincidental?) ik OC stuff doesn’t garner much attention here, but I’d love to hear more about him if your brainrot ever inspires you to info dump. i admit i mostly brought up Ann because i’m impartial to her, but the potential hostility makes me more curious than ever to see them meet. maybe her celebrityhood made her an easy target for rumors, who knows? pardon the long asks! ^^;

Yeah, I don't really like shoving my ocs into the main cast cause it feels kind of unnatural and a little overdone. This means I make my ocs side characters or minor antagonists more often than not lol. The rumour-mongering habits are entirely a coincidence. I haven't played p2, so I don't know much about it.

I imagine imanishi probably being responsible for a portion of the unsavoury rumours about ann and kamoshida's "relationship." He probably spread rumours about akira too. Which means ann and chuuya are definitely going to have conflict. Past that, they'll probably have arguments about helping others or saving oneself. I wouldn't be surprised if Ann thought him a coward. The more I think about it, the better they are as foils. I can imagine a lot of bickering between the two. If they find each other as allies though, I bet they could style on some fuckers pretty hard.

your OC is so cute! we don’t have many (any?) male psy users in the series, i noticed. can’t wait to see more of him in the future. do you think he’d end up interacting with the PT members? aesthetic/personality-wise, i think the contrast between him and ann would be interesting to explore…

Thank you! I'm glad you like him. OC stuff tends not to gather interest, so it makes me incredibly happy when people take interest in my characters.

I doubt Imanishi and the pt would interact much, he likes to be at the edge of people's stories. He's a liar with a high charisma stat and self-preservation instinct. The kind of person who will always have one foot out the door. If he and the pt were to interact, it's cause hes a gossip monger. He runs the rumour mill around other people to get attention off himself. When they interact, it will probably not be on friendly terms.

I haven't thought at all about his and ann's dynamic. So thanks for the new Imanishi brainrot.
