Kat's beloved WIPS | Star Trek: DS9 and Strange New Worlds SECONDARY CONTEXT: The Alternative Reality In the year 2371, the Federation starship USS Voyager entered a plasma storm in Sector 04-70, near the space station Deep Space 9. It didn't exit it in the so-called Badlands, but was instead forced to embark on a years-long mission to find a way home from yet unknown parts of the galaxy. In the starship's tow entered the storm the commercial vessel CS Avadora and it, too, disappeared without a trace. Like the Voyager, the freighter and its pilot were transported to where they least expected it, although much unlike the Voyager, it wasn't a different part of space. Oh no, it was the correct corner of space, all right. The exact corner the courier was headed to ... only a hundred and ten years back in the past, and straight into the way of another Federation starship's crew currently in the middle of their five-year exploration mission. It was a mess that not even Daniels could have predicted — of all the seasoned Temporal Agents of course it had to be him to notice it first. Not even him could have foreseen this incursion to the timeline, but as always, it would have to be him to set it right. Only, there was another thing he couldn't know to count into his calculations: the mouthy pilot of the CS Avadora, her fists, her arguments, and her will to survive.

Kat's beloved WIPS | SECONDARY CONTEXT: The Alternative Reality What happened to Uhura and Hemmer during episode 7 of Strange New Worlds? A funny thing at the Atmos Customs Terminal: A crime was committed against them... So they committed it right back. Lt. Brin has reasons for not wanting to stay at the Atmos Terminal for too long at a time. A couple of reasons, in fact. One: it's the quadrant's very own shithole. Second: since she arrived into the 23rd century, she managed to make many enemies there, and there exclusively. But the ship is in a need of new emitter arrays for the shielding systems and the Atmos Customs Security Service happens to be in possession of some, and the Starfleet gave a go on an exchange of assets, and all this Nexa finds very unfortunate. They were a no-bullshit away team of four: herself and Chief Hemmer. Uhura, still on rotation with security. Another Redshirt. Naturally, it had to be an in and out thing. What neither of them expected to happen, is for the Enterprise to leave them stranded as it embarks on an emergency humanitarian mission along the borders of Federation space, at the appeal of one Dr. Aspen. And so, while the crew of the Enterprise struggle with their own complications, the away team are being counted on to carry out the task they were entrusted with: to acquire the emitter arrays, wait still and keep the cargo safe. The Atmos Customs Terminal is a no safe place, though, so things get a little complicated...

Me, trying to write a timetravel plot for Nexa for the Pride Month OC Challenge AU Day, where I throw her 110 years back into the past and onto the Enterprise aka give all your queers to Pike to safeguard? Purely for the purpose of indulging myself? Yeah, I might've had a little too much tea today.

Sorry, this took me so long and thanks so much for the ask!

Funnily enough, I write mostly for fandoms which I have NO idea if they actually have Valentine's Day or an equivalent thereof *shakes fist* argh, worldbuilding!

Most of my OCs are also very, uh, hard and shy to show affection, so I wouldn't say anybody celebrated it. But! If anyone would, I can totally see either Nexa or Kat make some insane gesture in form of a gift only to utterly CONFUSE their love interests. Picture Major Kira Nerys with a huge stuffed horta and a baffled expression on her face.
