so three young adventurers are handed down a bar—
birthday drawing for my friend who plays our gnome wizard (everyone say happy birthday Jana)! featuring one of our more memorable shenanigans (in which Dahlia promised to carry Nim around on a stack of chairs without dropping any this time, probably)
timelapse:
personally I find it quite rude that this timelapse doesn't show the 3 evenings I spent arranging this whole scene in 3d beforehand. a huge thanks to the clip studio user who uploaded just the chair model I needed to the asset store for free, but csp call me to discuss your 3d navigation I just want to talk,

Finally got to Skyhold w Dirthadin as Lavellan and by gods all the “Chosen one! Chosen one! Chosen one! Herald of our Monotheism! Your too elfy and elfgods don’t matter!” is so frustrating. Any “im an elf, I’m dalish, I have my own gods, call me literally anything else” will be seen as ungrateful and contrarian.
Cassandra said at one point “Do you not have room in your pantheon for one more?” IRL yes syncretism works but it’s not that simple. Cassandra, you’re asking a Dalish Elf who has their own creation stories, their own vision of pantheon, to make room for YOUR mythology and pantheon, and one that specifically calls for monotheism, says other gods are false, states a very specific and distinct creation story. Maybe some Elves are a syncretic Andra-Dalish, I assume Alienage elves might be, but theyve had the opportunity (or colonization) to fit it into their life. Lavellan is a straight up Dalish Elf and if a Mage they’re a First, or Second (heir) to their Keeper whose entire life is meant to keep the stories and mythology of Dalish alive, as it is, as best as possible, as original as possible.
On a personal standpoint I want to kill everyone. On a mythological one it’s such an interesting story of the silent burdens Lavellan has to bear on their shoulders, the weight of a title they never asked for, from a world that hates them until they’re martyred as a convert, let alone the artifact is elvhen, while everyone is mistaking this as an Andrastian story when in reality it becomes a story about the destruction and misappropriation of the Elvhen, from an Elvhen artifact to the Elvhen Inquisitor, BOTH being used for stupid Andrastian beliefs against both of their wills, even MORE mythological is the fact Lavellan could very well be considered “chosen” a few thousand years down mythological storytelling by the Dread Wolf whispering at their side if elves take a dislike to the Andrastian flavor.
Lavellan living the story being so upset, regardless if they’re silent or loud about it. Mythologically the impact would be both horrific and incredible beyond their control. Elves Caused the Breach vs Elves Closed It vs Lavellan was the Herald of Andraste vs Lavellan was the Keeper of the People vs Lavellan was an Archdemon’s Left Hand vs Lavellan was the Dread Wolf’s Right Hand.
The story in its facts are just… Some Elf who has the crushing burdens of all the world, forced to take responsibility for things they never would have even been considered for, their culture erased in favor with f something more palatable regardless if they voice their disdain or not, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. While the mythological impact it could have, it’d be a story dissected for ages after all (or most, considering some) who participates have died.
Other Lavellan may react differently but my main ones perhaps would weep at their erasure, maybe even be boldly more “elfy” in spite when they must still act civilized to save an entire kingdom size of peoples. Joan of Arc, Tutankhamen, Princes Edward and Richard, mythical Zagreus, even they must have cried at least once in frustration. Lavellan is not a gracefully unfeeling, ever-patient patron saint. And yet that will likely be how they paint them.

Ephesians 6:10 (KJV)
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
I’m trying to go back to my regular upload schedule, so here’s a FanCharacter/OC for the Running Man Animation show.
I had placed a lot of effort into this design, even though I created her because I feel bad for a character in the show. She ended up looking more like a DnD character than a RMA character but nonetheless I really like how it turned out. I had this character idea for a long time now, but she had a different premise with a much more “edgier” backstory. She was also going to be an albino peacock but somebody else already kinda thought of that and I did not want my characters to look like anybody else’s so I ended up changing it. If God is willing I’ll be reusing this design in the future.
Her design is based mostly on what scrap of information I can get from her tribe, which is Pikok, but it’s just mostly headcanons. It's so bad that I had to reference Charming Gold’s parents for her even though she is in no way related to them. I also wanted to give her a dress because I like the idea that the tribe has rather strict gender roles but opted to give her loose pants. It's kinda disingenuous to think of that because we were never really shown what a female Pikok member looks like. Besides, fighting in a dress is weird for show that relies on action.
For now, here’s a summary of her character:
Dazzling Diaspore, would be the villain of an AU called: Running Man: Judgement. Filled with hatred she strived to awaken Ulcus to erase humanity once and for all. Similar to Charming Gold, who was her former childhood friend, she is also 1,000+ years old as well as having the ability of energy absorption, while although much weaker than Charming Gold she is able to casts illusions of people. Dazzling Diaspore has immense knowledge of medicine, including the red crystals and potions, which she regularly drinks affecting her health but strengthening her powers. She is quiet and serious, as well as observant with a great memory.
Here are the inspirations I used for her:

Asian Representation in Cyberpunk 2077
For a long while, I have this idea floating about writing what Cyberpunk 2077 did about Asian representation. This long overdue but similarly complex topic that was an unintended follow up to my previous post about my argument against Orientalism in Cyberpunk 2077. In that post, I tried to write as concisely as I can but I realized that I did not articulate further using the game itself which leads to some persistent confusion and casual assumptions about the game.
As a disclaimer, I am not defending orientalism or even war crimes while discussing about Cyberpunk 2077. I am not endorsing only negative portrayals of Asian people nor defending the problematic western stereotypes of Asians in the media history. We could have a civilized discussion over this entire matter because lucky for all of you, I am fluent enough in English that I could use my own voice for this. Every words that I wrote in this series; about the topics I explored, about myself, my lived experiences, my history, my opinions and my criticism are all solely my own. I think I am uniquely qualified to talk about many aspects of this topic but I like to think I am not immune to criticism and neither was the Cyberpunk 2077 game itself. What I generally hope was my writings would help, inform, educate and hopefully clarify some of the contentious takes directed towards me, CD Projekt RED, R. Talsorian Games and the video game; Cyberpunk 2077. There was simply no perfect Asian representation that could encompass all of the wealth of diversity. We couldn't perfectly portray everything either in academia, in media, in writing, non-fiction or even fictional works either by Asians or non-Asians. Asia is the largest continent on earth. Asian people are richly diverse, complex and sometimes described to many people across various ethnicities and nationalities. All we could in representation works was to attempt, to explore, to criticize and to create more and better works as an honor to ourselves and to our people. We all have our own stories to share and our interpretations. There was so many things that I could write about Asians in Cyberpunk franchise but I intend to fully explore again that was more than just the controversial Arasaka family or the Tyger Claws. I want to talk about the Asian aesthetics of Night City and many Asian characters in the game and including Cyberpunk Edgerunners' Lucyna Kushinada and Cyberpunk 2077 : No Coincidence's Aya and because of the impending release of Phantom Liberty, I am looking forward to explore Song So-mi @ Songbird. (Especially with the OST release, I know that CDPR used traditional Korean performance Pansori as Songbird's musical leitmotif and I'm so excited to explore that once I played the expansion) But for starters;
Not all Asians are East Asians
I wished I didn't have to write that down but I realized it was something that a lot of online discourses in English seemed to center itself either by non-Asians or East Asian diaspora in Western countries. It was most apparent within these published articles : Orientalism, Cyberpunk 2077, and Yellow Peril in Science Fiction and How Cyberpunk 2077 Resurrects the 1980s’ “Japan Panic” which were very hyperfixated on Arasaka and the Tyger Claws. Another element that I noticed from these articles and by their writers, they both neglect the fact that not every diasporic Asian portrayed in Cyberpunk 20777 are East Asians. Not every Asians are Japanese or Chinese or Korean.
I am not East Asian.
I am Southeast Asian.
My V was a Malay woman like me. Someone who was flawed, imperfect and maybe portrayed many sides that was very unbecoming to the image of a Malay Muslim woman. I created this Tumblr blog mainly to share my own CorpoV. She was my own OC that I was simply obsessed with. Cyberpunk 2077 remained to be the only game that truly allowed me to craft a genuine Southeast Asian woman protagonist with her personal history that was almost relevant to me on personal level.
Tumblr media
However, V could be anyone of any races or ethnicity. She could also be Japanese, Korean or Chinese because the game have localization with those languages. In the game, V can love sushi, drink tea, burn incense and work for a fictional Imperial Japanese company. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is a roleplaying game . But did you know who else was also a Southeast Asian in Cyberpunk 2077?
Tumblr media
Aha... think I don't notice the casual disrespect towards our glorious living legendary Pinoy rockerboy ever? My next post will be all about Kerry Eurodyne.
We will discuss Kerry in the TTRPG, what he become in Cyberpunk 2077, his complicated history, his character analysis, his traditional Batok tattoos, his relationships to Johnny Silverhand, their band Samurai and other Filipino representation within Cyberpunk 2077 game. However, I have to admit that my own exposure to my dear neighbouring Philippines was genuinely abysmal. I live in West Malaysia and unlike my Sabahan and Sarawakian friends, I am not exposed enough to the Phillipines. Personally, I won't claim I am an expertabout Filipino people, culture and heritage (and if you are from Phillipines, feel free to DM me, please) but I hope to do justice about our beloved rockerboy in the way he truly deserved. Didn't just make music on that boat. Busted my ass servin' drinks, waitin' tables. Free time, I-I composed till my fingers bled. - Kerry Eurodyne "Boat Song"

I have many OCs but since I was tagged by a Far Cry/Fallout mutual I will do... the main Far Cry/Fallout OC! and also his brother, for funsies.
*✿❀○❀✿*
name: Noah Marten Kingfisher
nickname: I don't think he has any, unless his sister has given him one that I don't yet know about
gender: inapplicable but most people regard him as male and he's fine with that reading
star sign: I haven't done natal charts for any OCs, unfortunately
height: somewhere in the vicinity of five feet, eight inches, I imagine
orientation: yes
nationality/ethnicity: USAmerican by citizenship, an African-diasporic mishmash by heritage
fave fruit: according to Preston, "cherry Nuka-Cola is NOT a fruit" 🙄🙄 but he is rather fond of berries (all kinds) and mango
fave season: autumn
fave flower: good question (he has a whole sunflower Theme going on but I don't know that that's actually his favourite flower! that motif is more about symbolism than actual preference)
fave scent: [orc voice] man flesh
coffee, tea or hc: cocoa all day
average hours of sleep: I... lmao man idk
dog or cat person: dog
dream trip: hmm
favorite fictional character: this is actually an excellent prompt but aside from knowing that Noah is a frequent comic book enjoyer I couldn't actually tell you what his favourite characters would be
number of blankets they sleep with: all of them
random fact: Noah is a CIT alum and would later (much, much later, lmao) return to that very same campus to eventually become Director of the Institute!
*✿❀○❀✿*
name: Gabriel
nickname: you don't give Gabriel nicknames. you just don't. he does take an epithet quite gracefully, though. "the Revelator" is a particular one that gets its fair share of hushed whispers throughout the Wasteland
gender: inapplicable but most people regard him as male and he's fine with that reading
star sign: [see above]
height: *waves hand around the "five feet, four inches" area*
orientation: aroace, we surmise. but we think this is mainly a result of severe trauma as opposed to being a neutral lack of attraction
nationality/ethnicity: I imagine nations don't really exist in the same way post-war, so I couldn't tell you. he's simply a Wanderer. I'm also not sure how to square ethnicity in a setting like that. he's Black, though. regardless.
fave fruit: [Ulysses voice: ''Dandy Boy Apples are NOT fruit. they are a mockery, a--"] [*immediately mutes ED-E*] dandy boy apples :)
fave season: it's all the same to him
fave flower: I think if given the space to really consider it, he'd like dandelions
fave scent: if the entire Mad Max franchise had a smell, that'd be it. Gabriel probably should have been a Mad Max character, honestly. he'd say so, at least
coffee, tea or hc: black coffee enjoyer
average hours of sleep: Gabriel doesn't sleep, he dreams /truedetective
dog or cat person: no
dream trip: anywhere off this blasted rock
favorite fictional character: *puts a pin in this one*
number of blankets they sleep with: also all of them. but it's because Ulysses has piled all of them on top of him
random fact: you wouldn't think so, but Gabriel got on like gangbusters with the kids from Little Lamplight. they fucking love him

If you can squeeze this in by sunset of the 26th, here’s a Hanukkah fic: the Twin Jades, going through their mother’s effects, learn that she was Jewish; Madame Lan is such a blank check that nothing here contradicts canon!
Reclamation (where you can see the glow)
by theLoyalRoyalGuard
(Gen, 3k, lxc & lwj, wangxian)
Summary: Lan Wangji finds a box his mother left for her sons long ago, containing pieces of a culture she wished them to know. On a snowy winter's night, the Lan brothers and their family reclaim their mother's history.
~*~
Another Hanukkah fic: SL and XXC are invited to share a campfire by some traveling OC Jewish mystics (who use the terms “Dao” and “cultivators” in a code-switching sense).
The Fellow-Travelers
by Val Mora (valmora)
(Gen, <1k, songxiao)
Summary: Song Zichen and Xiao Xingchen are invited to the camp-fire of two other cultivators, of another tradition.
@val-mora
~*~
A third Hanukkah fic: modern (apparently diasporic) AU; Wangxian adopt MXY; later, there’s a huge fancy inclusive holiday gala featuring most of the cast. Features characters taking pains to research other people’s holiday traditions; it’s implied that some of the characters are Jewish and OYZZ is expressly stated to be so.
a good night | full heart full belly
by frostferox
(Gen, 2k, wangxian)
Summary: “I just remember having the chocolate coins at someone’s house,” Xuanyu says at last. “They had all kinds of dishes I’d never seen before, but they were playing some kind of holiday music and it was festive. Candles and games. We ate so well, and they were so nice. We never went back, I think they moved away a few months later, but…”  Baba’s eyes are kind, nonjudgmental. “It was a good night, was all,” Xuanyu says, then looks away.

Hello, I'm starting a new tag game in order to spread some love for OCs! If you get this message take it as a chance to rant about your OCs, tell us why you love them, why you created them, their tragic past, anything and everything you'd like to share! Go nuts! Then, to continue the love, sent this to other people who need a chance to talk about their characters.
hi bby💙 im so sorry its taken me this long to get to this ask but I LOVE IT. I'm of course going to use this as an opportunity to ramble about Mari.
I'll start by disclosing some stuff about Mari that I haven't really explained much before.
Mari's parents are from the same planet that Depa Billaba and Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus are from. Meaning she is technically the SW equivalent of being indian/middle eastern (more on her father's side) & her mother is actually the SW equivalent of a latina woman.
Mari's mother had lived with her father on the planet (that has yet to be named i think?) and the two of them had Mari on that planet. They did not stay there long before an interplanetary conflict about 22 years before the clone war broke out destroyed their home. They became refugees who with help from the Republic Senate, namely Bail Organa's relief committees, became immigrants to the ecumenopolis that is Coruscant.
Mari herself was likely around 2 years old when they moved and she has very little memory of her life on Coruscant with her parents. They are both killed (I haven't decided how) when she's about 8 and she is on her own up until the point we see her in Unwritten.
She grows up with her friend Siviee at a special orphanage on the lower levels of Coruscant. They are pretty well taken care of, but Mari and Siviee both being rebellious little kids spend the majority of the time on the streets. They know the lower levels of Coruscant better than anyone and get into the kind of harmless trouble that little kids do.
Eventually, she kinda grows into her looks and men of all the wrong types start to notice. Though she has a solid head on her shoulders and is intelligent, she goes through relationship after relationship with shitty men who treat her poorly. She finds solace in doing the right thing to help others. That includes being a confidential informant to Senator Organa's underworld crime syndicate busting committee. Her efforts help save a lot of honest, everyday working people from having their goods stolen and communities destroyed. It's the very heart and soul of the life she knows and its this work that makes her decide to work for the Senate once she graduates from lower school. She goes through a higher education Senatorial academy with Siviee who also informed the senate at times.
Once she's graduated and in a job that actually pays her insanely well, she moves out of the orphanage and both her and Siviee live together for awhile. They both have lots of fun and party and do crazy things together in their early 20s. Mari dates/sleeps around quite a bit, but still has shitty luck with her choice of men. Still, she helps her friend get on her feet until Siviee decides that public service isn't for her. She wants to serve the people and be a cornerstone of the community and becomes a bartender/server at restaurants. Mari is once again on her own.
She is finally placed in Senator Amidala's staff and participates in her special committees centered on human rights. She moves into a surface level ridiculously expensive high rise apartment and she really comes into her own. She swears off of dating men who are no good for her and takes care of her career goals. Thats about the time we see her at 22 years old-ish at the beginning of Unwritten.
A big theme for Mari is her being someone who is deeply affected by the diasporic movement of her parents to another planet entirely and losing all connection to her original planet/culture once they die. She still visibly looks very much like her original people and wishes on the deepest level possible that she could feel as much a part of their planet/race as she looks like she is. We will see this come into play as she realizes how much the clones story resonates with her own and she relates to them on a deep level.
--
OK sorry I rambled. LMFAOOO her story is deep and rich and interesting and I'm doing a TON of research to be able to handle it correctly.

Which gemstone describes your OCs eyes?
Diaspore/Zultanite
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Symbolises aspiration, intuition and acceptance, which seem to resonate with Li'daen's journey: why she became an adventurer, how she learns to trust her gut feeling in the face of certain more politically-savvy opponents, and comes to terms with the fact there is rarely a perfect outcome or solution to what life throws at you, but that doesn't mean there isn't good.
Fun sidenotes: some say these stones are used in rituals to help improve memory, especially in recalling details from events, and connecting to past lives through dreams... a nice touch when one considers the Echo and life pre-sundering.
Apparently there are also variants that change colour in different light, and can go from green to reddish hues as a result (bringing to mind another, less-mentioned and little oc)
Tagged by @otherworldseekers (thanks for tossing me down the rabbit-hole of looking into shinies✨)
Tagging anyone who wants to jump into a world of shiny rocks and gazing adoringly into their muse's eyes...? :3

📓📓📓
ASK MEME: Put "📓" or some other version of a book emoji into my inbox and I'll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven't written but daydream about.
1. During a skirmish on Dathromir, a closeted trans fem clone OC is left behind when the 501st abruptly retreats. She is taken in by the Nightsisters. With her information on how the Separatists treat even their staunchest allies, Mother Talzin realizes Count Dooku cannot be trusted, and mobilizes the Nightsisters against him, killing him sooner than in canon and throwing the rest of the canon events into disarray. This 100% started as a desire to see more gender diversity among the clones and then I realized, hold on, the clone army considers itself brothers in arms, and some of them even consider themselves family, but they can never be 100% loyal to each other, because the Republic comes first. You know what would be incredibly freeing for someone who grew up in that hyper masculine and selfhood-denying environment? Joining another family that is only loyal to each other.
2. Ahsoka partially takes Maul up on his offer and agrees to team up with him to investigate Sidious’ new apprentice, but when she finally realizes that it’s Anakin, she’s torn between trying to bring him back to the light to save him, or giving in to the dark to finish him. I’m fascinated by the line in the Mortis Arc where The Son tells Ahsoka, “Your Master has seeded you with the Dark side. You know this to be true” and wanted to play with an Ahsoka who struggles not to give in, who must grapple with the reality of her legacy: she comes from a long line of extreme good and extreme evil, with little in-between, and she must now decide which end of the spectrum she’ll fall on. And with Maul egging her on and challenging her the entire way… fun!
3. Miscellaneous day dreams about my Jedi OC, Nightbrother OC, and the feral baby space whale* they get stuck with while, oh yeah, running from the Empire and trying to rebuild their lives as diasporic survivors of genocide. Busy bees.

Double Speak OC Tag Game
I was tagged by the very talented and lovely @svartalfhild (go check out her post for some more fun OCs). For mine, I’ll cover two of my current DnD characters and my ESO character.
I don’t have anyone specific to tag, so if you write or if you have some OCs you’ve been itching to write about, please consider this my invitation to you! Just tag me back so I can read it. (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
1. What do they say they want? (i.e., what are the desires they put out into the world and have no trouble admitting)
Qiu: She wants to protect the small diasporic community she calls home, and will do anything to achieve this. More than anything she wants to preserve the dangling threads of her culture that remain, even if she has to hear about most of it second or third-hand.
Reina: She wants to push herself; to be the most intimidatingly intelligent figure that her academy has ever seen. She wants to show the heights she can achieve when working alone.
Neirun: She wants treasure. Adventure. Her name in whispers across the whole of Tamriel--or at least the nickname she has been given.
2. What do they think they want? (i.e., what are the desires they keep hidden and only admit to their closest loved ones)
Qiu: Her internal wants are aligned with her external wants. She needs that level of internal strength to go through with the depths of protection that she has committed herself to. She considers herself a pretty open book, tbh. Even if there are wants that she has,  she's pushed down so far that she really isn't cognizant of them at this point.
Reina: She wants to need no one, to not feel the longing for companionship or the desire to be seen by others. She wants to fundamentally change the nature of her being.
Neirun: She wants to feel something again. Devoid of emotion for so long, without a heart, she is slowly losing her humanity. On some days, she's not even sure if she'll miss it. But she knows all too well that it is emotion that creates drive and action, and she is nothing if not a woman of action.
3. What do they actually want? (i.e., what is something they subconsciously need, but either do not realize or cannot admit it)
Qiu: She needs to gain the strength to embrace her personhood and relinquish being the monolith of a protector. She needs to take back her life from a duty that no one forced on her but herself.
Reina: She needs to open herself back up to people. Experiencing hurt is not a reason to crawl into a hole and die. She needs to accept that she cannot be the idealized image of herself that she has unless she truly wants to cause self-harm deeper than anything another person could inflict on her.
Neirun: She needs to release her anger and heal from the trauma that's been inflicted on her. Accept the bonds that have been thrown her way, as unorthodox as they are.
