“Crowe, what…”  Nyx didn’t even have a chance to get his words out before Crowe was running into him and hugging him. She had to be careful, despite wanting to squeeze him as hard as she could—she’d probably kill him if she did. He groaned a little even though she was being gentle, and his hands fluttered before he slowly brought them to wrap around her middle.  “Crowe, how’re you alive…?” He whispered into her hair, hugging her tight. “I saw you, the morgue, the body bag, I—“  “Me? What the hell happened to you, to the city? ” She demanded and pulled back to look at him. Her fingers came up to trace the silvery white scars on his face, traveling up from his neck and over his jaw, up to his temple and into his hairline.  He flinched just slightly and pulled away from her fingers, only for his head to snap up when they both heard the whir of an engine. “No time for that. Come on, let’s get down from here and then we can talk,” he said, glancing at her. “… you can warp?”  She wasn’t supposed to have magic. But neither was he.  “Yeah.” She said, and met his gaze squarely.

won is so the type of bf to turn the lights on at 8am on a saturday morning, claiming that ‘the early bird gets the worm’ and ‘he can’t hang out with you if you’re asleep’ … but, you can’t really find it in yourself to be upset because suddenly, yang jungwon is flopping down on you with that same, cute, little smile on his face. “g’morning, [y/n],” he mumbles as you card your fatigued fingers through his slightly messy bed head.

“mm,” you hum, poking at his dimple, “it would be an even better morning if it wasn’t morning. it would be a better morning if it was afternoon—and, you were still in bed next to me, and you were still asleep so i could admire my pretty angel.”

he laughs, and you swear it almost puts you back to sleep. it’s a melody reminiscent of an old lullaby your mother used to sing—alluring, soft, tender. jungwon’s eyes twinkle like the stars hidden away by the rising sun, and the weight of his body on top of yours is a comfort you’re all too familiar with. “you can always admire me, [y/n],” he counters, quirking up a playful eyebrow, “but, right now, you have to get ready because we have reservations at that brunch place you talked about yesterday at nine o’clock.”

with a groan, you attempt to shove him off of you, “too tired for brunch—we drank too much at that bar with jake and hee last night … let me sleep in.”

“no,” he chuckles, pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek, “you drank too much last night—and, now, you’re paying the price because i want to do something nice for you and treat you to brunch.”

“don’t mom talk me, yang jungwon.”

“why? scared of the truth, [l/n] [y/n]?”

“of course not,” you say, resolute and firm. but, standing your ground when you know jungwon can hear the way your heart is fluttering against his body is not as easy as it sounds. and, he makes it even harder by going in for the kill (read: flashing his dimple again). “okay, brunch with my pretty angel does sound great,” you secede, “but, can i have five more minutes, please.”

“fine …” jungwon reluctantly agrees, laying his head down above the protrusion of your collarbone, “but, only because you asked so nicely.”

you offer him a warm smile, “maybe we could even push it to ten?”

“i don’t think so … you should cherish these next five minutes,” he snorts, closing his eyes and wading into the warmth of your body—quietly succumbing to the rhythmic pressure of your fingers carding through his hair and the simultaneous beating of one lover’s heart for the other’s.

needless to say, you missed your reservation.

i'd love to know what you think of ian. philanthropist noble necromancer from divinitys reach who is gothic as hell. you know him, i know, but im curious who you'd stick with him. he has a troubled history but instead of wallowing in it he did something to improve the lives of people. given that he and his sister juno are the last to inherit the money from the family line as the sole heirs to the head of estates, he spends a lot of his time just figuring out ways he can give his money away in a non tax deductible way. also, as anonymously as possible.

bites off my fingies Nyx represents the people that Luna is sworn to help and serve as the Oracle, and Luna represents the grand destiny that all the glaives are throwing their lives away for without even knowing why. And yet the meet in the middle as ~human people~ and find a connection through all this political and godly maneuvering, when the forces of the world are trying their damnedest to keep them apart. And that connection was tenuous and transient, lasted for maybe a full day’s worth of time, and yet both are irrevocably changed by it, their souls marked on one another and just!!! Nyx didn’t believe in the future, not really, he was a foot soldier fighting a king’s war for a country that didn’t care for him and hated everything about him. He might’ve been alive but he wasn’t living. And Luna was a figurehead, resigned to her fate as a piece on the chessboard. She didn’t fear death because she might have already as well been dead and yet Nyx demanded that she care for herself, because her life was the only one she had and and and
