Your writing is so good! I always look forward to your Yousana stories as you capture their relationship so well. I have a prompt that I just know you'd write so well if you have time too, no worries if you can't. The prompt is the girls squad & balloon boys hanging out when one of the girls lets slip that Sana has a crush on one of her brother's friends and all the guys try to guess who it is but it's set right after the carrot scene so no one really suspects Yousef that much. Thanks!
Hii!
Thank you so much for the prompt, I’m sorry for the wait
I don’t know if this is what you had in mind but I really hope you like it!!
————-x——————
“Whoare you talking to, Sana Bakkoush?”
Sanalooked up from her phone startled. Her friends, Noora, Vilde, Chris and Eva,were right in front of her. She shouldn’t have been surprised, she was actuallywaiting for them but Yousef had sent her yet another meme and she hadcompletely forgotten where she was as soon as their conversation had started.
“Huh? No one” she said trying to hide the smile from her face
“So you were just texting no one and smiling at no one’s texts? Right” Eva said rolling her eyes
“I was just reading a funny tweet, that’s it” Sana said and it would’ve beenbelievable if her phone hadn’t beeped right in that moment.
Shelooked down at her phone couldn’t help but smile at Yousef’s text, he wastelling her something about one kid from his kindergarten. She felt severalpair of eyes on her and she realized that if she didn’t want her friends tofind out about her crush for Yousef she probably shouldn’t be smiling like anidiot at her phone. She looked up at them and tried to hide the smile but ofcourse it was too late.
“Another funny tweet?” Noora asked
“Okay girls, you know what you have to do” Chris said
All thegirls but Sana nodded. Suddenly Noora and Eva started to tickle her and Sanacouldn’t help but laugh and bent over herself. Chris took this moment to takeher phone again from her. Sana reacted and almost grabbed it again but Chriswas faster than her and handed the  phoneto Vilde who took a few steps backwards while Noora and Eva held Sana back.
“Yousef? You’re talking to Yousef? As in Elias’ friend Yousef?” Vilde almost squaled.
“Give me my phone back” Sana simply said as she shoved Eva and Noora off. “We were just talking, it’s not abig deal”
“Uh, you’re talking about kids, it sounds like a big deal” Vilde said as she read a part ofthe conversation before Sana took the phone away from her
“Wait, you like Yousef?” Noora asked
“No”Sana lied
“That’s why you were saying all that stuff about him being immature?” Noora laughed “You wanted him for yourself”
“No. And he’s immature”
“Well, apparently you like immatureness because you were smiling like anidiot while reading his texts” Eva said
“I wasn’t”
Thegirls answer was a collective glare with some eye rolling.
“Girls, I’m telling you, I don’t like Yousef” Sana said matter-of-factly
“Then I guess you can tell that to him yourself since he’s coming to usright now”Noora said pointing at something behind Sana
Sheturned around so quickly that her neck almost snapped. She then cursed herselffor being so obvious because, of course, there was no one behind her. She facedthe girls again only to find them laughing at her.
“Oh my god Sana you’re in loooooove!!” Vilde said excited
“I’m not”
“But tell us, have you talked to him?” Eva asked
“Uh…He taught me how to peel a carrot on Saturday” Sana said scrunching her nose.
“Did he put his arms around you like in Ghost?” Chris asked
“No. He just peeled a carrot and showed me how to do it…”
“And??? What happened next?” Vilde asked eagerly
“He told me he wanted to have 12 kids”
“12 kids?????” Eva almost yelled
“Yeah…and then Elias came and told him to stop flirting with me and theyboth left”
“Oh my god Elias, always so inappropriate” Noora said rolling her eyes
“It’s fine” Sana said shrugging
“Andnow you’re texting each other” Chris said more as an statement than asa question
“Yeah, about bus stuff mainly…he…uh…he said that he’d sell his kidneysto get me the money for the bus”
As shesaid the last word she received a collective “aww” from the girls
“You so like each other!!” Vilde squealed hugging Sana excited
“We’re just talking” Sana said rolling her eyes but smiling to herself
“Well, we need to something about that, we need to hang out, all of us” Eva suggested
“Huh? No”
“Yes, we will, you just leave it to me, I’ll talk to Elias”
“Vilde, nei”
  -x-
But ofcourse Vilde wouldn’t listen to her. She texted Elias and convinced them to meetup to watch a movie all together. Elias had been a little bit skeptical atfirst but Vilde had told him that Sana really wanted to spend time alltogether, which of course was a lie.
So nowthey were all at the Bakkoush’s living room just talking about random thingsafter giving up on finding a film that everyone would like.
“So tell us, do you guys have any siblings?” Vilde asked the boys
The girlswere sitting on a couch while the boys sat in the one opposite to them.
“I don’t”Elias joked making Sana roll her eyes
“But you do” Vilde said a little confused
“Vilde, he’s teasing you” Noora explained
“Oh…that’s not nice”
“I’m sorry Vilde and yeah Mutta has an older sister” Elias said
“And do you get along with her?” Chris asked
“Yeah…but I don’t hang out with her much” Mutta explained looking at thefloor
“And why is that Mutta? Please, explain” Adam teased him
“Just because…” Mutta shrugged
“Because…”Adam insisted
The girlslooked at each other frowning, they were not understanding what was going on.
“Okay, if you don’t explain it, I will. Mutta had a huge crush on one ofhis sister’s friends but she rejected him” Adam said laughing
“But I don’t anymore!” Mutta quickly explained
“Oh! How cute you had a crush on your sibling’s friend just like youSana!” Evablurted out
“EVA!!”Sana yelled at her widening her eyes, she had not just said what Sana had heard
Evacovered her mouth with her hand and closed her eyes knowing that she hadscrewed it up.
“Wait…you have a crush on one of them, Sana?” Elias asked smirking
“Don’t listen to Eva, she’s drunk” Sana said the first thing that came to hermind
“Hey! I’m not drunk, I haven’t drunk anything today, what are youtalking about?”Eva defended herself
“Sana…the secret is kind of out now…”
“Vilde!! Shut up” Sana said exasperated
“You do have a crush on one of them! Who is it?” Elias asked
Sanacouldn’t help but look at Yousef who was looking back at her with a crypticexpression. He didn’t look happy but he didn’t look sad or angry either. It waskind of a mixture between those feelings. It was as if he was intrigued, hopeful yet cautious all at once.
“Guys, I think it’s pretty clear that it’s me” Adam said
“Huh?”Sana frowned at him
“I mean, I’m the one who talks more to Sana” Adam explained “Plus, I’m the funniest one”
“What are you talking about? You’re a kid, Sana would like a more matureguy, like me”Mikael argued
“Mature? You? Have you seen your baby face?” Adam asked
“Do you have a problem with my baby face?”
“You know I don’t” Adam said winking an eye at him making Mikael roll his eyes
“Guys, guys, stop fighting, we all know that I’m the one Sana has acrush on. I’m the sweetest of all of us” Mutta intervened
“That’s bullshit” Both Mikael and Adam said and a verbal fight over who was the betterchoice for Sana started between the three of them
“Are you seriously competing over who Sana likes?” Noora asked shaking her head
“Of course we are!” Adam said as if it was obvious
“Sana is awesome” Mutta added
“She’s the cool Bakkoush” Mikael finished
“Hey!!”Elias said offended “What about me?”
“You’re alright…I guess” Adam said shrugging
“What about you, Yousef? Are you going to join this competition too?” Eva asked raising an eyebrow at him
“Me?…Uh…” Yousef stuttered
“Don’t you think that Sana is awesome?” Chris insisted
“Girls, stop” Sana warned them in a low voice
“Of course she’s awesome” Yousef said honestly, his eyes meeting Sana’s
She felther heart beating fast in her chest and she had to look away or she would startto blush.
“I can’t believe that you have a crush on one of my friends and you didn’ttell me…you told them” Elias said pointing at the girls “and you didn’t tell your brother?”
“Oh she didn’t tell us, we caught her smiling like a dork while textinghim” Vilde said
“Vilde!!!!” Sana yelled as she stood up
“Sorry!”
“Texting? Okay who of you is texting my sister, show me your phones now!” Elias told the guys
Adam,Mikael and Mutta started to explain to Elias that they weren’t texting Sanawhile Yousef, he just looked at her, his mouth slightly opened as realizationcame to his mind. Sana’s eyes found his and she knew that he knew and she didn’twant to see his reaction.
“I’m out of here” Sana said as she turned around, she needed to escape, she couldn’t dealwith this embarrassment, not in front of Yousef.
Just asshe took a few steps towards the door her phone beeped with a new text. She stoppeddead on her tracks and grabbed her phone with shaking hands.
Yousef Acar: Is it me?
Yousef Acar: Because if it’s me
Yousef Acar: I like you too
She turnedaround in shock, her mouth opened, her eyes widened. Yousef was looking rightat her, his phone in his hands and a smile on his face. The rest of the boyswere still arguing and the girls were definitely staring at Sana but she didn’tcare about any of that. All she cared about was that boy that was looking rightat her, that boy that she liked and who apparently liked her back.
 -x-
+Bonus:
“Guys, guys!!” Mikael interrupted the fight that Elias, Adam, Mutta and him kepthaving “Wait a moment. If I’m not texting Sana, Adam is not texting Sana andMutta is not texting Sana…then…”
“Yousef!”Elias said pointing at him.
The boyslooked at Yousef who was still looking at Sana and then they looked at her whowas, of course, still looking at Yousef as she stood a few meters from them.
“Yousef is the one you like, Sana?” Elias asked not getting any answer from hissister “I mean I guess that if it has to be anyone, it should be Yousef, he’sthe most respectful guy I know”
“And he’s pretty funny so he’d make Sana smile” Adam agreed
“And I guess he’s good looking, probably the most handsome of us all” Mikael added
“Oh god THEY’RE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!!” Mutta exclaimed excited
Yousef Acar: Do you want to get out of here?
Sana Bakkoush: Yes please
Shelooked up from her phone just in time to see him smiling and standing up. She turnedaround and led the way to the kitchen with him right next to her as both ofthem heard the boys calling them.
“SO YOU WERE FLIRTING WITH MY SISTER THE OTHER DAY!!” Elias yelled
“WHERE ARE YOU GOING?” Mikael asked
“YOU CAN’T LEAVE LIKE THAT!” Adam added
“THE PUBLIC WANTS TO KNOW THE TRUTH!!!” Mutta finished
————–x—————

Hi! I see that you accepted a prompt about Yousana, so I decided to send one myself... could you write about the first time Yousef realizes he's in love with Sana + the first time Sana realizes she's in love with Yousef + the first time they confess their feelings for each other? Like these three moments that are so important in their love story. Thank you so much in advance, I hope you decide to write it! 😘
Hey :) Well, I wrote it and thank you for trusting that I could write this properly. I hope these moments are like you imagined them to be :) Let me know how you like it :)
The lovely @nothesc helped me think of the moments they first realized they were in love. Thanks for that
———————————————————————————————-
Yousef has likedSana for a long time now. At first she was just his friend’s little sister. Thefirst time he saw her she was sitting at the kitchen table with her schoolbooks scattered all over the table. She was so immersed in her work that shedidn’t notice Elias being home, with a friend.
However, over theyears Sana got Yousef’s attention more and more. And she didn’t have to doanything for that. Elias and Yousef became best friends and Elias alwaysinvited Yousef over to his house. Yousef would see Sana walk past the livingroom when they were playing video games there, or she would be in the kitchenwhen he went there to get something to drink and sometimes she would join Eliasand his friends in a game of basketball or even video games.
For many yearsYousef didn’t think about it much. Sana was just his best friend’s sister. Butthe older they got, the more he saw Sana, the harder it got to see her as justElias’ sister. Yousef found himself wishing Sana would be sitting at thekitchen table doing homework, whenever he got up to get something to drink.Sometimes even when he wasn’t thirsty.
It didn’t help thatSana started being more friendly with him. She was always nice to Elias’friends. Some of them basically live at the Bakkoush house so it wouldn’t beeasy for Sana to ignore them all. However, at one point her friendlinesstowards Yousef changed. Yousef didn’t know what that meant, if she just gotmore used to him being at her home whenever Elias was home or if she started tofeel the same way as he did. Then, Yousef didn’t know what exactly it was thathe felt. He just knew that seeing Sana, even if they didn’t speak more than aHello, made his day better.
Then, Sana startedto hang around the guys more. She didn’t just say Hello or answer questions. She initiated conversations. Yousef wasn’t sure if he just imagined it or ifSana really spend more time talking to him than to the other guys. His thoughtswere validated by that one time they were all sitting in the garden and Sanacame outside with a basketball under her arm and her phone in her hand. Shedidn’t notice that the guys were outside at first, neither did Elias, Adam,Mikael, Adam or Even notice Sana coming out of the house. Yousef did though. Healways did. For one reason or another Mutta and Adam screamed at the same timewhich made Sana look up from her phone, a confused and kind of annoyed look onher face. She didn’t come closer and when Elias called her: “Hey, sis.Wanna join us?”, Sana had only shook her head. Eyebrows furrowed and asmall frown on her lips. Then she met Yousef’s gaze and he smiled at her. Hisattempt at making her frown go away. Yousef felt the need to get up and walkover to her; he had stopped listening to what the boys were talking about whenhis eyes landed on Sana. But Yousef didn’t have to get up, Sana’s small frownturned into the smallest smile when she saw Yousef ginning at her. Yousef tookthe smile as a good sign and nodded lightly, to indicate that Sana should jointhem. He looked from his friends over to Sana and waited for her to react. Andshe did. Slowly she walked over to the boys and sat down close to them butdidn’t say anything because Elias and Mikael were in a big discussion aboutsomething… Yousef didn’t pay enough attention to know what the topic was. Once Sana sat down Elias turned to her and exclaimed loudly: “You diddecide to join us! What changed your mind?” Sana smiled at her brother butshrugged. Elias didn’t ask any more and Sana rolled the basketball on theground next to her to preoccupy herself. She didn’t know that Yousef’s eyeskept on finding her and that he couldn’t do anything to stop. When she lookedup and they shared a look, both of them smiled at each other, not sayinganything.
That is how thingswere between them for a long time. Communicating with looks more than with words. She is just a nice girl Yousef tried to tell himself but could never stophimself from thinking, and smart and beautiful.
Something changedonce they had a real conversation, just the two of them, about something otherthan Elias’ whereabouts, information about a game the boys were playing whichSana joined or how school is going. Looking for a way to keep talking to her,Yousef offered to teach her how to peel carrots.
After that Youseffelt like he was able to make a move. He knew that him wanting to see Sana andtalk to her about anything, really, was not just because she was nice. Headmitted to himself that he might have a crush on Sana.
“Don’t stareif you want to hide your little crush.”, Mikael had whispered to Yousefwith an knowing smile when they were eating at the Bakkoush house once again;Elias, Yousef, Mutta, Adam, Mikael, Sana and her parents. Yousef hadimmediately turned to Mikael to deny it but Mikael looked at him knowingly andturned away from him.
That day headmitted his crush on her to himself.
And when he feltlike Sana would be comfortable enough with it, he added her on Facebook. Askingwhat she’s up to was not weird anymore, being alone with her wasn’t weirdanymore, spending time with her outside of the Bakkoush house wasn’t weirdanymore.
It was like theuniverse hated him because one day after they finally had their first date, after a few weeks that made Yousef’s heart ache because Sana distanced herself,he had to leave. He was more than happy to see that part of his family againthat he only ever sees in the summer but the evening he had spent with Sanamade him want to stay and spend the summer with her. They had so much fun andfor the first time he felt really secure that Sana did see him as more than herbrother’s friend.
Sitting at the gateat the airport, with 15 minutes until boarding, Yousef couldn’t keep thoughtsabout the previous evening out of his head. Sana never stopping smiling, her dimples always showing. Sana trusting himenough to catch her when she jumps down those big stairs. He could almost hearher laughter from when they did the ‘trust test’ with the showers. The way shegrinned and teased him about him bringing food to break her fast. He remembersSana opening up to him. At the thought of Sana being bullied, even when it wasin the past, he clenches his jaw and his chest tightens. Yousef doesn’t wanther to hurt, ever. At the same time he couldn’t describe the warm feeling insideabout Sana trusting him enough to open up to him even if he tried. He lovesthat Sana and him can be silly one moment and talk about serious topics in thenext one. Disagreeing doesn’t make them fight; it makes them try to understandthe other one.
His phone beeps andpulls him out of his thoughts.
“I hope youhave a lot of fun with your family!
“And keep meupdated if you are attacked by swans or not… then I can hit up Stephen Curryif necessary!”
As soon as Sana’sname appears on his screen, a big smile finds its way on Yousef’s face. It’sstill very early, He knows she went to bed late last night, but she still gotup early and thought of texting him. But once again, it dawns on him that hewon’t see her all summer, at least not in person. That thought makes him lowerhis phone slowly and stare into nothingness for a few moments. His chesttightens, his mouth goes dry, breathing is hard for some time.
Yousef closes hiseyes and swallows the lump in his throat. It shouldn’t be this hard to not seeyour crush for a few weeks. And it’s not. It’s not just a crush anymore, maybehasn’t been for some time now.
With the worsttiming ever, Yousef realizes one very obvious thing.
He is in love withSana Bakkoush.
Two months. Twomonths Sana didn’t see Yousef. Well, at least in person. They talked prettymuch every day. Yousef shared his summer adventures with Sana and Sana told himabout everything that happened in her summer holidays.
Every time Sana gota text she quickly unlocked her phone. Usually it was Yousef and seeing hisname on the screen of her phone made her smile from ear to ear and her heartskip a beat. The times it was not Yousef she had to remind herself not to getsad about it because if it wasn’t Yousef it almost always was one of the girls.
Now, after twomonths of just texting, and facetiming once in a while, Yousef would arrive inOslo any minute. He told Sana when he would land and she kept on staring at theclock. She needed to know that the flight went well and Yousef and his familylanded safely. Sana had prayed for them. Walking up and down in her room, sheturned her phone in her hands, a nervous habit. She’s not only worried abouthim landing safely but also about seeing him after such a long time. The lasttime they were together they were on a date and had a great time. But what ifhe doesn’t feel the same anymore? A lot can change in two months. Especially ifyou’re not seeing the other person in that time.
Sana thought aboutgoing to the airport but quickly realized that that wouldn’t be the best idea.Technically, Yousef and Sana only went on one date. That doesn’t promiseanything. However, Sana remembers their conversation that night very well andknows that they silently promised something to each other. Her nervousness justmakes her doubt things she knows.
Sana’s phone beepsand Sana’s heart beats faster. It’s Yousef.
“We landedJ”
Sana let’s out abreath and smiles to herself. She doesn’t really know why she gets so anxiousabout him being on a plane. Technology is advanced enough to get people fromone country to another in a few hours, she flew before.
Finally, she stopspacing in her room and sits down on her bed and answers Yousef’s text.
“Good J How was the flight?”
Sana lets herselffall on her back and closes her eyes for a second. She starts scrolling up intheir text conversation. Many pictures of old buildings Yousef saw on asightseeing tour and thought Sana would enjoy. Pictures of Yousef with hiscousins. A lot of pictures of Turkish food Yousef thought Sana needed to see.Sana didn’t realize that they texted this much. She knew she had her phone inher hand pretty much always but now that she’s been scrolling for 5 minutes, she’s still at the text from two days ago.
She gets anothertext from Yousef which makes her smile a lot again. She sits up and reads thetext.
“Good. This olderlady sat next to me and talked about her children the whole way. I can tell youher sons’ biographies later!”
Sana leaves herroom and goes to the kitchen. And what a surprise: Mutta, Elias, Mikael andAdam are there, eating. When are they not here? Not that it bothers her. Theyall arrived home from their holidays earlier than Yousef.
“Hi, sis!”, Eliassays loudly as soon as he sees her enter the kitchen.
Sana answers with a‘Hi’ directed to all four guys and gets herself something to drink. Whateverthey were talking about before, they stopped and all turned around to look atSana, who was standing by the window.
Sceptically Sanalooks at each of them and waits for one of the four to say whatever they feltlike they needed to say.
Elias speaks up andSana is very aware of the four pairs of eyes trained on her. “Yousef landed inOslo.” Sana just nods and presses her lips together to not break into a grin. The guys look disappointed that Sana didn’t give them a bigger reaction.
“Of course shealready knew!”, Mutta laughs and shakes his head.
“He probably textedher before us!”, Adam exclaims.
Sana once againjust shrugs. It is a very amusing view seeing them half offended and halfamused themselves.
“Are we going tosee him later?”, Mikael asks the guys and sends a look in Sana’s direction aswell. Just the thought of seeing him again makes Sana take in a sharp breathand a smile grow on her face.
Elias on the otherhand answers: “That dude just landed. He probably wants to sleep when he getshome. We’ll see him tomorrow.” While the other guys in the room agree, Sanatries to not show them how disappointed she is and shortly after leaves thekitchen. Even before she arrives in her room her phone beeps again. A messagefrom Yousef.
“Meet me at thebasketball court in an hour? J”
The whole way to thebasketball court, the court they played at after bringing Elias to Noora’s,Sana can’t keep a smile off of her face. She missed him. She knew she wouldmiss him but she couldn’t imagine how much.
And there he was. Standingat the other end of the basketball court. He had arrived even before her andshe left the house earlier than necessary. The closer she got, the more excitedshe grew. The big smile on her face doesn’t leave for a second.
When Yousef heardher footsteps he turns around and watches as Sana came closer. Sana’s eyestravel along his body. He is in sweatpants and a white t-shirt. His hair iscovered by a snapback and he has his phone in his hands.
Sana always laughedwhen people talked about having butterflies in their stomach. She didn’t thinkshe would get a feeling like that. But here she is. Seeing Yousef in his verychill clothes, looking a little exhausted but greeting her with the biggest andbrightest smile. She felt butterflies and a whole zoo in her stomach.
“I’m sorry that Ilook like this but I just went home to leave my stuff there and came to meetyou right away.”, Yousef says as Sana finally stands in front of him. Sana’sheart starts racing even faster at this. He could’ve gone home and rest andmeet everyone later but he choose to meet her now. And she’s over the moonabout it. She missed him so much. Sana wouldn’t miss anyone she only has acrush on this much. She wouldn’t feel this happy seeing someone who is only acrush after two months of being apart.
Standing there, onthe basketball court, Yousef matching Sana’s huge grin, she realizes somethingvery important.
She is in love withYousef Acar.
Mondays are Yousefand Sana’s day. It’s his free day and it has become a tradition that Yousef picksSana up from school and they do something together.
Today, they went toeat something first and ended up going to a park, sitting in the sun andtalking. Sana and Yousef seem to never run out of things to talk about. Andsometimes they sit next to each other, not saying a word and simply enjoyingeach other’s presence. Sana is sitting on her jacket while Yousef is lying in the grass. He has hishead turned to look at Sana and watches her as she reads a book for her Englishclass.
“Can you stop that?”,Sana asks Yousef without looking up from her book.
“What am I doing?”,Yousef asks back even though he knows what she means.
“Stop looking atme. It makes me nervous.”, Sana says and can’t help but laugh. Now she turns tolook at Yousef as well, who sits up and tilts his head to the side.
“I make younervous?”, he asks in a challenging way. He looks her in the eyes and Sanadoesn’t look away. The sun is shining right into Sana’s face and she has tosquint to be able to look at Yousef. She leans in a little closer, obviouslywith a sarcastic remark on her mind. However, she doesn’t get to answer becauseout of nowhere, it starts to rain. No, it starts pouring rain. Quickly theyboth stand up; Sana packs the book in her bag which Yousef takes from her. Hegrabs her hand and they start running to find a dry place to stand until therain calms down. Neither of them has brought an umbrella.
They find a canopyand once they stand there, they are already drenched. That doesn’t botherneither Sana nor Yousef. They are both laughing. Still holding her hand, Yousef watches how Sana tries to wipe away her smudgedmake up, she thinks there is. Sana tries to be careful and her light violetcolored hijab is sticking to the sides of her face. In that moment Yousef issure that he has never seen a more beautiful girl in his life.
Yousef lifts hisfree hand and wants to wipe a big raindrop from Sana’s face. She sees what he’sdoing and just nods. While he is doing that slowly, they look each other into theeyes and Sana starts to say something.
“Did you know..”,she starts and Yousef starts smiling broadly. He knows that an interesting factabout anything will follow now. “If there is rain in the desert, the chances are that you might not getwet. The droplets fade away under the influence of hot air. And that’s why it’shard to tell when it rains in the desert. It’s called Phantom rain.”
Yousefhas a tender look on his face and there is only one thought on his mind. Howcan Sana be this beautiful, and funny, and smart? He is fascinated by her, howshe is so eager to learn more about everything, how she is so understanding andopen-minded.
“God,I really love you.” It slips out of Yousef’s mouth before he can register what’shappening. Sana’s eyes widen and she looks at him with a small smile on herface. But she doesn’t say anything. She’s not able to in that moment. But Yousefunderstands it different from what Sana thinks.
“OGod. I… I… It just slipped, I was thinking it and I couldn’t…”, Yousef startsto ramble. Did he say it too soon? He didn’t plan on saying it but it was whathe was thinking and it just happened.
Sanainterrupts him by squeezing his hand a little. Yousef’s gaze falls on theirintertwined hands and then he looks up, into Sana’s eyes again.
“Yousef, breath.”, she says and chuckles lightly. That Sana is smiling and not reacting negativelylifts a weight of Yousef’s chest. He nods and takes a deep breath. Then Sanacontinues to talk.
“Iwouldn’t want the guy I’m in love with to die because he forgot to breath.”
Thissentence didn’t help Yousef to breath properly. His breath hitched in histhroat, his eyebrows shot up and then a grin appeared on his lips.
“Doesthat mean…?”, is all he can say because his heart is racing too much.
Sananods and answers: “I love you, Yousef.”

mikadam who lets the microwave beep at 1am
Hi!
I honestly wasn’t planning on doing the drabble thing for any other couple than yousana but I can’t say no to Mikadam and as soon as I got this I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. So thank you so much for the prompt ♥
I hope you like it!!
——————x————-
You knowthose times when you wake up in the middle of the night and you hear a noiseand you’re not sure if you woke up and then heard the noise or if the noise wasthe thing that woke you up? This is one of those moments for Mikael. It’s 1 AMand he just heard a loud beep that made him open his eyes startled.
It’s notlike he wasn’t going to wake up anyway. He’s used to wake up at around 1 AMevery single night. He blames that American show he used to get up to watchduring the summer. He spent three months waking up at 1 AM every day to watchit and since then he always wakes up at that hour.
His parentsare used to it by now. At first he’d wake them up when trying to find somethingto eat, he always wakes up hungry. But now they don’t even hear him anymore.
Today he’snot at his house though. He’s at Adam’s. His parents are away for the weekendand Adam invited Mikael to stay over. Mikael is not sure what is going onbetween him and Adam. He’s not sure if they’re just friends, friends who holdhands every time they have the chance, friends who stay at each other’s housesand sleep in the same bed cuddling, friends who look at each other for longerthan it’s normal, friends who just spend every single second of the daytogether, or if they’re something more. They haven’t really talked about it. It’sjust how they are. They spend time together, they hold hands, they cuddle, butthey don’t talk about feelings. Sometimes Mikael thinks about the possibilitythat maybe he really is just a friend to Adam while Adam is more than that toMikael. But he always tries to push that thought to the back of his mind.
As  Adam comes to his mind, Mikael extends hisarms to his right and finds an empty spot on the bed where Adam should be. It’sstill warm so Adam must’ve woken up not long ago. Adam never wakes up in themiddle of the night, in fact he hates it because then he can’t go back tosleep, so if Adam is awake and presumably in the kitchen there has to be a goodreason.
Mikael getsout of the bed and goes downstairs to the kitchen, where the loud beep, he’sassuming it was the microwave, came from.
“Adam?”Mikael calls him as he enters the kitchen.
He has hisback to Mikael, looking inside the fridge for something to drink. As soon as hehears Mikael’s voice he turns around and faces him with a smile on his lips.
“Hey, goodyou’re finally awake.”
Adam takestwo cans of soda from the fridge and gives one of them to Mikael who takes it alittle confused.
“What areyou doing?” Mikael asks.
“I waswaiting for you.” Adam answers shrugging before turning to the microwave. He opensit and takes the packet of popcorn that was inside of it. He then grabs a bowland fills it with popcorn. When he finishes, he turns to face Mikael once againand sees him looking at him with his eyebrows furrowed. “What?”
“What doyou mean waiting for me?” Mikael tilts his head and takes a step forward.
“I know youalways wake up at 1 AM since you watched that silly show of yours. And I knowyou’re always hungry when you do so I decided to make some popcorn. I even havechocolate around here somewhere. I still don’t know how you can eat popcornwith chocolate but at this point I’m not even going to ask.” Adam chuckles alittle bit and opens a cupboard taking a chocolate bar and handing it to astill very confused Mikael. “You really need to stop looking at me like that oryour eyebrows will stay furrowed forever.”
“I just don’tget it…you hate waking up in the middle of the night.” Mikael says biting hislip, he still can’t believe that Adam would wake up to make him food.
“Yeah, butI knew you’d wake up and you’d be hungry. Besides, we can watch a movie whileeating popcorn so I can fall asleep again. Isn’t that a good plan?”
Adam’ssmile makes Mikael’s heart skip a beat. Before he can stop himself he closesthe gap between them and crashes his lips against Adam’s. He feels Adam holdhis breath and that’s when he notices what he’s doing. He’s kissing him. He’skissing Adam. He’s kissing his friend. Mikael’s heart starts to beat faster andfaster as he pulls away, afraid that he might have just ruined theirfriendship. But when he looks at Adam, who is looking back at Mikael fonderthan ever, he feels like he can breathe again.
Taking thepopcorn bowl in one hand and Mikael’s hand in other, Adam leans in to give hima soft kiss on his lips and says: “Come on, let’s go see the movie.”
Mikael letsAdam lead him to the living room, being grateful for the first time that hedecided to watch that show that keeps him awake at night.
As they siton the couch Mikael looks at Adam, a small smile on his lips. Apparently they’refriends that kiss now.

prompt: set in the evening of june 13th's clip, the balloon boys are filming a hei briskeby video and yousef takes his phone out mid-video to check his notifications since he didn't have the time to during work and he had it on silent as well, and sees sana's text and forgets how to breathe and doesn't know how to react but is trying to act chill anyways because they're filming but is too shocked to answer back etc etc
Heey!
I wrote this pretty quick and I don’t know if it’s what you wanted but I really hope you like it :D ♥
—————————-x——————————–
“You know what we should do?” Mikael said as Elias let the boys into hishouse
“What? askedElias
“A live video!!” Mikael answered excited “I’ve seen lots of youtubers doing that, Ibet people would watch that!”
“But do we have to do that today?” Yousef asked not really excited about it “Todayis being a hard day at work, I haven’t had a break”
“Come Yousef, stop complaining! Mikael’s idea is great” Adam said
“Of course you’re on his side…” Yousef muted.
“Huh?”Adam asked
“Nothing”
“Okay what do you guys think?” Mikael asked Mutta and Elias
“I think it’d be cool” Mutta said “People could ask us questions”
“I’m sorry Yousef but I’m with them, I think it’d be cool. It’d be likethe last Hei Briskeby video before you go, it has to be special” Elias said
“Okaaaay, fine. Let’s do it” Yousef said walking to the living room “Bythe way Elias can you lend me a charger? My phone is dead”
 —x–
Sanachecked her phone once again, he still hadn’t seen it. She sighed and as shelaid on Noora’s bed.
Afterdeciding that they were ditching school, which they were already doing withouteven noticing, they went to the Kollektiv and they had been there during thewhole afternoon. Noora had told Sana everything that had been going on withWilliam while Sana told Noora about her conversation with Yousef, even thethrowing grass leaves part.
“Still no answer?” Noora, who was lying by her side asked
“Nope”Sana said “At least he hasn’t seen it yet, that’s good right? That means he’s notjust ignoring me…I guess”
“Sana he would never ignore you, believe me the boy is so gone for you”
“He wasn’t really warm towards me on Sunday…he was nice but…you know, not like other times”
“He thinks you don’t like him, the boy is probably just trying not toget his hopes up”
“Ugh, why is everything so complicated?” Sana sighed covering her face with her hands
“Love is complicated but it’s worth the pain” Noora said with a soft voice
“Seriously Noora, you’re starting to get on my nerves with all thispositivity”Sana said making her friend laugh
“Ah, Sana life is beautiful”
Sanashook her head but laughed. That’s when her phone beeped. Her heart started topound fast on her chest as she grabbed her phone with trembling hands, only tobe disappointed when she realized that the notification didn’t belonged tofacebook but to youtube.
“Is it him?” Noora asked
“Uh…yes and no”
“Huh?”
“It’s a notification from Youtube, apparently Elias and the boys aremaking a live video right now”
“And what are you waiting for?” Noora said sitting on the bed “Gowatch it! Yousef will be there”
“So what? It won’t make him answer”
“I know, but aren’t you curious? I mean you’re subscribed to theirchannel for a reason”
“Okay, you have a point” Sana said rolling her eyes
Sheopened the youtube app and pressed play.
The boyswere at her house, as always. Elias was in the middle with Adam and Mikael onone side and Mutta and Yousef in the other one.
“Okay, okay, okay we’ve waited a few minutes so everyone gets settledbut I think it’s time to start” Elias said looking at the camera “HeiBriskeby! We’re here today with a live video, we want you to ask us questionsand we’ll answer them”
Sanarolled her eyes, did they think they were famous or something?
“Sana, look at Yousef” Noora said pointing at him in the corner of the image
“What?”
“He has his phone in his hands and it’s plugged, maybe he didn’t havebattery?”
“Uh…could be” Sana said checking her phone once again “he still hasn’t seen it though”
 –x–
Elias was answering some question he hadreceived from a viewer when he finally turned on his phone. Yousef had beenwithout his phone the whole day, and only now he was able to check it, not likehe would usually receive many texts anyway. He waited a few seconds for it tobe completely loaded to unlock it. Meanwhile he tried to act as if he wasinterested in the video but being honest, he really wasn’t, he didn’t feel likefilming that video. Lost in his thoughts, he felt his phone buzz in his hands. Helooked down and saw a notification from facebook.
“SanaBakkoush has sent you a friend request”
He widened his eyes and before he could tap onthe request a message bubble appeared.
“Do youwant to hang out with me?”
His heart skipped a beat after reading thatsimple question, because it wasn’t simple, not at all, not when it came fromnot other than Sana, the girl he was so gone for. His hands were shaking andbefore he could do anything about it his phone fell to the floor startling everyonein the room
“Yousef bro, what are you doing?” Elias asked him
 –x–
“Oh my god have you seen that?!!?” Noora asked excited “Checkyour phone, see if he has read your text, come on!!”
Sana opened the facebook app once more andclicked in her conversation with Yousef
“He has, Noora, he has, he has!! What does thatmean?”
“It means that the boy completely freaked outwhen he saw your text and dropped his phone. Oh my god that boy is so in love!!”
“Maybe he just didn’t expect it” Sana said
“Are you kidding? Look at him! He’s blushing”
“Because Elias is yelling at him”
And he was, as Sana and Noora talked the videokept playing
“Yousef bro, what are you doing?”
“I’m sorry, I just dropped my phone” Yousef said blushing
“Well, leave your phone now, we’re making avideo” Eliassaid
“But I need to…”
“You can answer later, just leave it”
Elias stood up and took the phone away fromYousef.
“Are you being serious Elias?”
“Yes, our public is waiting for us”
All Yousef could do was roll his eyes. The girlof his dreams had finally texted him and her brother had taken away his phonefrom him as if he was 12 years old. A thought suddenly hit Yousef. He hadopened the message, he had seen it. Now Sana would think that he was ignoringher
 –x–
“Look at him! He’s panicking!” Noora said laughing “Ohpoor boy”
“He’s not…”
“Sana Bakkoush can you stop pretending like you’renot over the moon right now because you’re seeing the boy you like completelyfreaking out because you asked him out?” Noora said
“Okay, fine, it’s kind of funny” Sana said biting her lip
“He’s probably so worried because he left youon seen”
Sana looked at the screen and laughed, hedefinitely looked worried
“Ah, poor boy we have to find a way to contacthim” Noora saidthinking “I got it!!”
 –x–
“Okay next question” Mikael said as he read the chatthey had added to the live video so people could ask their questions “It’sfrom SB and it says: ‘Yousef areyou going to answer me or what?’ dudewhat the hell?”
Mikael looked at his friend confused, actuallyall of the boys turned to him confused. But the most confused of all of them? That was definitely Yousef.
“What does that mean?” Elias asked
“Another message!” Adam said taking the phone fromMikael “It’s also from SB and it says ‘it’s not cool to leave a girl on seen, Acar’ Yousef who is thatgirl?”
“I can’t believe this” Yousef chuckled, then he looked atthe camera and added “Elias took my phone, I can’t answer you”
“Who are you talking to?” Mutta asked
“Another message from SB: ‘Then answer me now, look at the camera and answer’”Mikael read.
“Okay, you asked for it” Yousef said laughing and getting alittle closer to the camera “Yes, Sana Bakkoush, I’d love to hang outwith you”
“Wait, Sana Bakkoush? As in my sister SanaBakkoush?”Elias asked “What is going on?”
“Well, it seems like our video is over now” Yousef said still looking at thecamera “We’ll see you in the next Hei Briskeby video, goodbye!!”
He then stood up and stopped the filming. Hehad an explanation to give to his friend and a girl to set a date with.

These are our friends (Balloon Squad + Yousana kids)
Hi!!
Well, as I say before, I have been on a writers block lately, I wasn’t really inspired until the lovely @stressedoutteenager told me a headcanon about The balloon squad taking care of kids and well our conversation ended on me writing this fic about the balloon boys and yousef and sana’s kids. So I want to thank her because like half of the ideas of this fic belong to her!
I also got this prompt a few weeks ago and even though it’s not actually the same I hope you like it:
Prompt. HELLO IDK IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF PROMPTS ALREADY BUT I WAS THINKING LIKE WHAT IF YOU WROTE ABOUT UNCLE ELIAS COMING OVER AND TAKING CARE OF YOUSANAS FOOTBALL TEAM?? like at this point they'd prob have like 4 kids or something and thats tiring enough and yousef is like we never get time to ourselves and sana's like well you're the one that wanted 12?? and they're like we can maybe ask elias to take care of them and they go on a date or whatever and elias takes care of the kids :)
Well I leave you now with the fic, I know there’s no much Yousana but I hope you like it!!!
----------------------------x-------------------------
That the Balloon boys love Sana with all their hearts is no secret. And that they love Yousef too isn’t either. But their love for Yousef and Sana doesn’t compare with their love for their children.
 -x-
Since Sana and Yousef got married, all of them had been constantly teasing them about when they were planning on having children. They knew Yousef was really looking forward to it while Sana wasn’t that keen on it, or at least that’s what she said. They didn’t expect them having children that soon after they got married though so when only 9 months after their wedding Yousef and Sana called them all asking to meet them at their house that idea didn’t even crossed their minds.
“Thank you for coming” Sana said as all the boys sat in front of her and Yousef.
“What is this about sis?” Elias asked
“What have you done Yousef?” Adam added
“I haven’t done anything” Yousef defended himself
“Well, you kind of have” Sana said blushing
“Sana!” Yousef chuckled completely embarrassed.
“I’m not understanding anything” Mutta said confused
“Guys, what’s going on?” Mikael asked
“Okay so…we called you here because we need to tell you something important and we thought that we should tell you all at once” Sana started
“We know this might be unexpected” Yousef continued
“Are you divorcing?” Mutta asked as disappointed as if his parents were telling them that they were going to have a divorce
“No! No, no, no. It’s the opposite actually” Yousef said
“The opposite would be getting married and you’re already married” Mikael said
“Are you going to renew your vows?” Adam asked
“What are you talking about Adam? How are they going to renew their vows, they haven’t even been married for a year” Elias said rolling his eyes
Yousef looked at Sana exasperated. Sana just shrugged as a way of saying “they’re your friends”. Yousef shook his head as the rest of the boys started a fight over how much time was logical to pass to renew the vows.
“Guys, guys…guys!” Sana said clapping her hands to catch their attention
“Wait a moment Sana” Elias said not even looking at her “Stop defending Adam, Mikael, you don’t know what you’re talking about”
“I’m not defending him but it makes sense what he’s saying”
“I’m not understanding anything” Mutta said again
“I’m pregnant!” Sana yelled
The whole room turned silent as the boys looked at Sana and Yousef taken aback by the news.
“What?” Elias asked
“I’m pregnant, you’re going to be an uncle Elias, you’re all going to be uncles”
“But pregnant as in having a baby pregnant?”
“No, pregnant as in having a fish, what do you think Mikael?” Sana said rolling her eyes
“You’re pregnant!!” Elias exclaimed standing up and hugging his sister
“I told you they wouldn’t wait a year!! You owe me 100kr!” Adam told Mutta as he extended his hand waiting to be paid
“Seriously Yousef? You couldn’t wait three more months?” Mutta said shaking his head
“You bet on how fast I’d get pregnant?” Sana asked “You do realize how creepy that is, right?”
“It’s not creepy, it’s the miracle of life” Mikael said smiling
“Yousef my man, you’re going to be a dad!” Elias said hugging his friend “And my sister is going to be a mom and I’m going to be an uncle and…and…”
“Elias are you crying?” Sana asked smiling as her brother tried to hide the tears
“No, I’m not” he said sniffing
“Yes you are! Come on Adam bring me the camera, this is going to make a sick video” Mikael exclaimed
Sana glared at Yousef who was laughing at the situation, “these are your friends” she wanted to say.
 ------------x---------------
“Be careful, Sana”, “You don’t have to that on your own, Sana” “Sana, let me do that for you” “Just sit down and rest, Sana” “No Sana, you can’t eat that, it’s not good for the baby” “Let me take care of that, Sana” “Sana, where do you think you’re going?” “I’M PREGNANT I’M NOT SICK, STOP IT ALREADY”
Those sentences could pretty much sum up the nine months of Sana’s pregnancy. All the boys, and Yousef the first of all, wouldn’t let Sana do as much as breathing in case something happened to her or to the baby.
So when Sana went into labor while the boys were at her house she knew what was coming.
“Guys…” Sana said as calm as she possibly could “I think…I think I’m having the baby”
“WHAT?” Yousef yelled as he stood up from the chair and almost fainted while doing it
“But are you sure?” Elias asked
“Pretty sure” Sana said looking at the wet floor under her
“Wow Sana, you could’ve used the toilet for that” Mikael said
“Are you dumb? Her water just broke!” Adam said hitting Mikael’s head
“Okay, what do we do? What do we do?” Mutta asked starting to panic
“Well, I think that taking me to the hospital would be a good idea, don’t you think?” Sana said glaring at them
“Yes, yes, yes come on guys we have rehearsed this so many times, Elias keys, Mutta and Adam bag, Mikael camera and I…I…what did I have to take?” Yousef said anxiously
“Sana! You had to take Sana” Elias said
“Oh, oh, true, true. Come on babe, everything is going to be okay, don’t panic, just breathe, breathe”
“Yeah, you may want to take your own advice” Sana said shaking her head
 -x-
“They’ve been there for too long, what is taking so long?” Elias asked as he kept pacing around the room
“Relax, in every book I’ve read says that this can take several hours” Mutta said
“How many books have you read about pregnancy dude?” Adam asked
“About 12” Mutta said shrugging “14 if you count the audiobooks”
“Here we have dumb and dumber talking about pregnancy books” Mikael said as he focused the video camera on them, then he turned to Elias “And here we have the soon to be uncle having a stroke”
“Mikael keep that off my face or I swear I’m going to…”
“Relatives of Sana Bakkoush?” a nurse interrupted Elias
Elias walked over to her as Mikael, Mutta and Adam stood up and followed him.
“I’m her brother” Elias said
“And we’re the baby’s uncles” Mutta added pointing at the rest of the boys and himself
“So all of you are Sana’s brothers” the nurse said
“No just me, but they’re the uncles too”
“Yousef’s brothers then?”
“We’re his bros” Adam said nodding
“Okay…well everything went well and she’s a lovely girl”
“It’s a girl!!!” Mutta said doing his meme face
“We already knew it was a girl” Mikael said rolling his eyes
“I know but we’ve had it confirmed”
“I think it was pretty much confirmed when Sana showed us that ultrasound” Adam said
“Yeah but…”
“Guys!” Elias said clapping his hands and turning to the nurse “Can we see her?”
“Yes, you can but one by one, okay?” the nurse said as she left them in the waiting room
“Well, I’m going in while you decide the order” Elias said
“Uh, excuse me, why do you get to be the first one?” Adam asked
“Because I’m the real uncle, Sana is my sister and Yousef is my best friend”
“Wow, that was very rude. We’re supposed to love each other equally” Mutta said “Besides, kids like me better than you”
“That’s bullshit, I’m Sana’s brother and I’m going in first” Elias said
“We should draw lots” Adam said
“What are you talking about? She’s my sister!!” Elias almost yelled
“Wait, where’s Mikael?” Mutta said realizing that the boy was nowhere to be found
“That little piece of shit” Elias said as he walked to the room where Sana was. “Mikael! That’s cheating” he yelled from the other side of the door
The door of the room opened and Yousef came out of it. His eyes were red, he had clearly been crying.
“Guys, if you promise to be completely calm I’ll let you in all at once, but you have to be chill, okay?” Yousef said
“Yeah, yeah, let me in” Elias said as he walked past Yousef and entered the room followed by the rest of the boys
Mikael was in one side of the room holding the baby in his arms.
“Boys, let me introduce you to Leila, the most beautiful baby in this world” Mikael said as the boys approached them
“Oh my god she’s so tiny” Mutta said as he gently caressed one of her hands
“I can’t believe Yousef did this” Adam said “She’s so beautiful”
“She looks like her mother, that’s the only explanation” Yousef said as he stood next to Sana and gave her a kiss on her forehead “She’s going to be a warrior just like her”
“Elias? Are you okay?” Sana asked her brother who hadn’t said a word since he had entered the room.
“I just…I…” Elias said trying to hold back the tears but he completely failed at it “She is my niece, Sana”
“Yes, she is” Sana said smiling at her brother “Why don’t you hold her?”
“What if I hurt her?” he asked
“You won’t, I trust you”
Elias nodded and took the baby from Mikael’s arms slowly.
“Hi, Leila, I’m your uncle Elias. These are Mikael, Adam and Mutta, they’re going to love you so much but you better love me more, okay?”
“Yeah, we’ll see about that” Adam said “I’m way cooler than you are”
“But I’m the kindest” Mutta argued
“Guys, guys, who was the first one to hold her, huh?” Mikael said with a smug face
“She’s my blood, you can’t fight blood” Elias said
Sana chuckled as she shook her head and looked at Yousef, “these are your friends”
  -----------------x-------------------
“Happy birthday Leila!” Elias said as he hugged his niece “Oh my god how old are you already? 6? 7?”
“I’m only 3 uncle Elias!” Leila laughed
“Oh, only 3? Then I’ll have to give this big present to another child…”
“No, no, no! I’m 6”
“Leila, what have we talked about lying?” Sana told her daughter
“It’s a bad thing to do” Leila said
“Exactly, now give uncle Elias a kiss and go to the backyard to play with your friends, I’ll be out in a minute with the cake”
The little girl did as she was told and left after kissing her uncle
“How are you doing, sis?” Elias said pointing at Sana’s belly
“I’m holding up quite well actually, only three more weeks before Khaled is here with us” Sana said smiling
“Ah, I’m going to spoil that little kid”
“Like you’re already doing with Leila, you mean?”
“Exactly like that”
Sana rolled her eyes and led the way to the garden where everyone was.
 -x-
“Yo, Adam what was that?” Elias asked his friend as he approached him after the cake
“What was what?”
“We agreed on one present each and you gave Leila two” Elias said
“That was so not cool, Adam” Mutta said
“Are you trying to get her to like you better or what?” Mikael asked
“Okay first of all, I gave her two gifts because in the movie those two characters are always together so I bought the two dolls at once, and second of all I don’t need gifts to make her like me best, she already does” Adam said with a smug face
“Ha! You wish, I gave her a basketball jersey of her favorite team, did you see the look on her face? She loved it” Mutta said
“She’s only 3, what are you talking about? She loved my movies” Mikael argued
“I bought her a freaking slide, are you being serious now?” Elias asked shaking his head “Besides I’m her blood”
“Stop using that argument! Family is not only blood damn it!” Adam almost yelled at him
“Okay that’s enough we’re going to solve this as grown men” Mikael said “Leila! Sweetie, can you come here for a second?”
The little girl approached them almost jumping, she loved her uncles so much
“Hi, honey, we’re going to ask you a question and you don’t need to feel pressured at all okay?” Mikael said crouching to get to her height “So who do you love the most, uncle Elias, uncle Mutta, uncle Adam or me?”
“I love you all the same” Leila said shrugging
“But Leila honey, remember how I gave you not one but two presents today? That’s really cool right?” Adam said
“I always bring you ice-cream even when your mom says you can’t have it, you remember that right Leila?” Mutta added
“Remember how I was the first one that took you to the cinema to see that movie you liked so much?” Mikael said
“Leila, I’m your uncle, your real uncle, I took you to the theme park” Elias said “You have to like me more than them”
“I…I think I like uncle Isak the most” Leila said kind of uncomfortable
“What??!” Elias almost yelled
“Are you seriously asking my daughter who she likes most?” Yousef said as he approached the group with Sana by her side
“Leila go play with your friends and don’t listen to your dumb uncles” Sana told her daughter
She waited for her to be gone before she spoke again
“What is wrong with you guys? She’s only 3”
“Adam was trying to buy her with gifts” Elias said “I’m her real uncle”
“I was just being nice, what are you talking about?”
“Okay, stop!” Sana said before another fight would start “You four are going to start behaving like adults or I swear you’re not going to get anywhere near this baby”
She pointed at her stomach while glaring at them
“You wouldn’t dare” Mikael said
“Test me” she said taking a step forward
“Okay, okay, it’s chill, we’ll behave” Mutta said
Sana nodded and looked at Yousef shaking her head, “these are your friends”.
 ------------------x-----------------
“Are you sure of this?”
“Come on Sana, we haven’t been on a proper date since Hakim was born” Yousef said “And he’s almost a year old already”
“Yeah, I know but are we sure that they…” she pointed at the boys in her living room “Are the ones to take care of our three children?”
“They’re four men taking care of a 6 years old girl, a 3 years old boy and a one year old baby, I think they’ll manage just fine”
“Ah…okay” she said
Elias, Mikael, Adam and Mutta were playing in the living room with the kids. Leila was showing Mutta his drawings while Mikael and Adam played with Khaled on the floor and Elias kept Hakim on his lap.
“Okay guys, we’re going. If anything happens you call me right away, understood?”
“Relax Sana, everything is under control” Elias said
 -x-
Everything wasn’t under control. Let’s say that playing with kids for awhile wasn’t exactly the same as spending a whole evening with them. It wasn’t that the kids were bad kids, quite the opposite actually, the problem was that the boys wouldn’t agree on anything.
“No, Khaled you can’t have ice cream after dinner” Elias said
“But uncle Mutta gave Leila ice cream”
“Seriously Mutta?” Adam asked him rolling his eyes
“It’s our tradition” Mutta defended himself
“Uh, guys I think Hakim needs to be changed” Mikael said as he held him in his arms “Any volunteer?”
“Don’t you know how to do it?” Elias asked
“Do you?”
“Of course I do, who do you think you’re talking to?”
Five diapers later Hakim was finally changed.
“Okay buddy now I’m going to leave you in your crib to sleep” Elias said as he laid him down
“Elias you have to lay him on one side” Adam said
“What? No I’m pretty sure he should lie on his back” Mikael said
“Guys, let the expert talk, in the books I read it said…I don’t really remember what it said to be honest…” Mutta said confused
“Let’s just call Sana and ask her” Adam suggested
“No! No one is calling my sister, we are capable of doing this”
“Uncle Elias, Leila keeps painting on me” Khaled whined
“Leila, stop it”
“But I’m just being artistic, dad always says that art is important”
“What about you paint on a notebook instead of on your brother” Mutta said
“But I don’t want to paint on a notebook” Leila said pouting
“Seriously, how do Sana and Yousef do this every day?” Mikael asked
 -x-
“Everything is extremely quiet” Sana said as they entered the house a few hours later
“That’s a good sign right?” Yousef asked
“Or not”
They entered the living room and were surprised by the scene. On one couch Mutta laid with little Hakim on his arms. In the floor, Adam and Mikael were sat together with their backs against the couch and Khaled lying on their legs. And on the other couch Leila laid on Elias’ chest. They were all sleeping peacefully.
Sana smiled at the view and looked at Yousef, “these are our friends”

O Helga Natt, yousana style (for tomorrow’s clip)
Hey!
So here I am again with this fic that it’s going to be based on what I’d like to see tomorrow (final clip of 4x09) between Yousana + all the squads scheming together to get those two to talk
I really hope you enjoy it and that it’s not confusing with all the conversations.
-----------------------x---------------------------
“Have the world’s best summer”
He read it over and over again trying to make sense of what had happened.
For a moment he thought that Sana was finally giving him a chance, he had been over the moon for 5 minutes, the time that it took for her to answer to his text saying that she couldn’t meet him and that she wished he had a nice summer, the world’s best summer, well guess what, he wasn’t.
He looked down at his phone and noticed he had one more notification, a missed call from Noora. Why would Noora called him? He was about to find out.
“Hello?” Noora said
“Hi, Noora? I have a missed call from you?”
“Oh, yes, it’s true. I called you yesterday”
“What for?” Yousef asked
“Uh…well actually it’s because you weren’t answering Sana’s text. I know it sounds stupid but I was worried”
“I left my phone at work and I haven’t got it until now” Yousef explained
“That makes sense.” Noora said “So, did you text Sana back?”
“Yes”
“And when are you meeting?”
“Apparently never” he said bitterly
“Huh?”
“I asked her if we could meet on Friday and she said that she can’t this week and that she wishes I have a nice summer”
“You’re kidding, right?”
“I wish”
“Ah, I can’t believe this girl!” Noora said exasperated
“It’s okay Noora, she’s just not interested in me. I get it”
“No Yousef, you don’t get it. Look, I shouldn’t tell you this but she was really excited to meet you, she…she likes you Yousef and if she’s cancelled your date it’s because something must’ve happened”
“What do you mean she likes me? She doesn’t”
“She does and I’m going to find out what is going on”
“Wait! What should I do? Should I text her? Should I go to see her?”
“No, she clearly needs space. I’ll fix it, we’ll fix it”
“We?”
“I’ll find help, you just…keep on with your life like nothing happened”
“Noora, you just told me that the girl I’m in love with likes me back, you can’t expect me to act like nothing happened”
“For this plan to work you’ll have to”
“What plan?”
“Bye Yousef”
“Noora! What plan?” he said but she had already hanged up the phone.
Yousef sighed and sat down on the bed.
“She likes me” he whispered to himself with a goofy smile “she likes me”
----x----
“Pick up, pick up, pick up” Noora said pacing around her room nervously
“Hello?”
“Elias? Hi it’s Noora, Sana’s friend”
“Uh…hi?”
“I know this is weird but I need to talk with you”
“How did you get my number?”
“Vilde”
“Okay…what do you want to talk about?”
“What do you think about Sana and Yousef?” Noora just asked
“What do you mean?”
“What do you think about Sana and Yousef being together? Are you okay with that?”
“Sana and Yousef? I thought Yousef was with you”
“No! Why everybody keeps thinking that?. There’s nothing between us. He’s in love with your sister and she’s pretty much in love with him too”
“Oh…okay uh…Well, I’ve seen those two pining for each other since they met”
“So, you’re okay with them being together?”
“Yes, yes, I’m totally okay with it”
“Cool, ‘cause I need your help”
“My help with what?” Elias asked confused
“We need to get those two to talk. I have a plan. Are you in?”
“Yes, I’m in but what is the plan?”
“Meet me at my house in two hours and I’ll tell you. Oh! And bring the rest boys, they all need to know. And of course you can’t tell anything to Yousef or Sana”
 ---x---
“Okay, everyone’s here right?” Noora said as she stood in the middle of the Kollektiv living room
Vilde, Eva and Chris were sitting on one of the couches while Mikael, Adam and Mutta sat in the other one. Isak and Even were also there both sitting on the floor with Isak between Even’s legs and his back resting against his chest. Eskild and Linn were also sitting on the floor around the table. Finally Elias was standing right beside Noora.
“Why are we here exactly?” Eskild asked
“Well, actually I don’t really need you or Linn but since you also live here I thought you could hang out with us if you wanted” Noora said shrugging
“So I don’t have to be here? I can go to my room?” Linn asked
“Yes, Linn you can”
“See ya” Linn said standing up and leaving.
“Eskild?”
“Oh no Noora, I’m staying”
“Okay, so the thing is…we need to talk about Sana and Yousef”
“We need to get those two together and soon before Yousef leaves” Elias added
“So Sana likes Yousef? I mean we all knew Yousef’s been in love with her for years but Sana too?”
“Sana likes him a lot!” Vilde said excited
“She told me” Eskild added
“And me!” Isak said
“Okay so long story short, I got Sana to text Yousef so they could meet but then she backed off and…” Noora started
“I’ve talked to my mom. I asked her if she knew something about Yousef and Sana, I told her how I thought they liked each other and I really thought they should be together. Well, she told me that Sana received Yousef’s message while being with her and that she told Sana that she should think about the difficulties she’d have to face if she married Yousef. So basically?” Elias continued
“She backed off because she’s scared” Noora ended
Everyone in the room looked at them trying to process all the information.
“Are you sure you want to be with William, Noora? I mean you two would make a powerful couple” Eskild said pointing at Noora and Elias
“We’re here to talk about Sana and Yousef, Eskild” Noora said rolling her eyes “Okay so I talked to Yousef and I told him Sana liked him and that I’d fix it so that’s why we’re here, to fix it”
“And how are we going to do that?” Eva asked
“Well, we need to lie to them” Elias said
“On Friday Sana will be with us, we will be driving around with our van” Noora explained
“And us boys, we will be with Yousef and we will take him some place he and my sister apparently went in their first and only sort of date. Sana told Noora about it apparently” Elias said
“Yes, she told me that they had been playing basketball and that they had talked, like really talk, for the first time so I think it’d be nice if we plan their meeting there”
“So we will take Yousef there” Elias explained to the boys “Isak, Even you two can come if you want and also your boys. And the girls…”
“We will drive around with Sana and we will take her there without her knowing” Noora finished
Again everyone just stared at them.
“Yeah, I see what you mean” Mutta told Eskild pointing at Noora and Elias “They definitely make an interesting couple”
“Can we focus?” Elias said clapping his hands
“Have you understood what you have to do?” Noora asked “Any questions?”
Eskild raised his hand slowly
“Yes Eskild?”
“I have a question” he said turning to look at Adam and Mikael who were sitting on the couch “How long have you two been dating?”
“What? what are you talking about?” Adam said removing his arm from Mikael’s shoulder and sitting straight.
“You’ve been holding hands since you arrived” Eskild said
“No, we haven’t” Mikael said
“There’s nothing between us, we’re bros that’s it” Adam added
“Okay…whatever...not pressuring you. Just know that my gaydar never fails” Eskild winked at them
“We’re not together” Mikael said
“We’re not. Come on guys say something” Adam looked around waiting for someone to defend them but they were all awkwardly silent.
“Guys?” Mikael asked
Even held back a smirk while Elias looked at the floor and Mutta scratched the back of his neck.
“So, what time should we meet tomorrow?” Mutta asked breaking the silence
“Around 8 will be okay, any more questions?” Noora said
 ---x---
“Where are we going? I thought we were going to chill at Adam’s” Yousef said on Friday evening as he walked with the boys
“We were, but we thought that we could go to another cool place instead” Elias said
“What cool place?”
“Well…”
 --x--
“Why are you stopping Chris?” Sana asked as she sat inside their Loser van
“Uh, I think we can rest for awhile here” Chris said
“Where are we?” Sana said trying to look at the windows but Noora Vilde and Eva were blocking her view
“Okay Sana? We need to talk” Noora said
 --x--
“What are we doing here?” Yousef said when he realized where he was “What is this?”
“Yousef man, we need to talk” Elias said “We need to talk about my sister”
“Sana? What about her?”
“Well, see that van parked over there?” Elias said pointing behind him “She’s inside”
“What? Why? What is going on?” Yousef said anxiously
--x--
“Sana…look where we are” Eva said moving so she could see
Sana got closer to the window and recognized the place instantly. They were on the basketball court where she and Yousef had had their first and only real conversation.
“But how? Why? What are we doing here?” Sana asked confused
“Yousef is here, Sana” Noora said “And you two need to talk”
“Noora…”
“Just listen to me okay?” she said “Sana that boy, he’s in love with you and you’re in love with him and I know you’re scared because you think that you two can’t be together, I know you think that it’ll be impossible but Sana he’s a good guy, you know that. He would never do anything to hurt you. And look, at the end of the day, this is your decision and we will respect it but you need to at least talk to him and tell him how you feel.”
 --x--
“Yousef I know you’re in love with my sister”
“Elias…I…”
“And she’s in love with you”
“What?”
“She’s in love with you but she’s scared. She thinks that you two can’t be together because you’re not muslim. But you are Yousef, you are the most muslim boy I know, you’re the best guy I know and I wouldn’t want anyone else for my sister. And I know you two can make it work. All you have to do is talk to each other, prove to her that you’re worth it”
 --x--
“Sana, are you really in love with him?” Noora asked
Sana nodded holding back the tears
“So go there and tell him”
 --x--
“Yousef, are you really in love with her?” Elias asked
Yousef nodded closing his eyes
“So go there and tell her”
 --x--
Sana took a deep breath and got out of the van. A few meters from her she saw Yousef standing with Elias and the rest of the boys, but he wasn’t looking at them, he was looking at him.
 --x--
Yousef saw her getting out of the van, his heart skipped a beat and before he could stop himself he started walking towards her, his eyes never leaving hers.
 --x--
She walked towards him and for a moment it was like the rest of the world didn’t exist. It was as if she was walking in slow motion, her eyes never leaving his.
 --x--
They kept walking towards each other until they were only a step away.
“I’m in love with you” both of them said at the same time
They stared at each other’s eyes, trying to process their words.
“I’m sorry” again, they spoke at the same time.
Yousef couldn’t help but chuckle while Sana shook her head smiling. They either didn’t talk at all or they wanted to talk at the same time.
“You first” Yousef nodded
“I’m sorry Yousef, I’m sorry for giving you mixed signals and for being always back and forth with you. I just…I’m in love with you but I’m scared, scared that we won’t work. I thought…I thought that I’d rather lose you now than in a few years” she said as tears were rolling down her face
“But you don’t have to lose me. Sana, I’m in love with you, I’ve been in love with you pretty much since I met you. And I know it’s not going to be easy and that we will have bad moments but I think that the good moments will be totally worth it. Sana I respect you and I respect your faith and I would never ever do anything to make you feel uncomfortable.”
“I know you wouldn’t…” She said sniffling
He swallowed hard trying to keep his own tears from falling
“Sana is your choice and I’ll respect it but…don’t you think that a chance of being together is worth the risk?”
“It won’t be easy” she warned him
“I don’t want easy, I want you, just the way you are”
“And you’re leaving tomorrow” she said looking at the floor
“I’m not”
“What?” she looked up at him frowning
“You said you couldn’t meet this week so I postponed the flight a month” he said shrugging
“What? Why would you do that?”
“Don’t you remember? Alt for deg girl”
Sana’s face lit up and her lips curved into a big smile. She took the step that was keeping them apart and wrapped her arms around his neck. He was taken aback for a moment but soon hugged her back.
“Does this mean you’re giving us a chance?” he whispered in her ear
She pulled apart and looked at him with a big smile
“Yes”
“Yeah?” he asked smiling
“Yes” she nodded
“SHE SAID YES!” he shouted using his hands to amplify his voice
Suddenly everyone started to cheer them, on one side the girl squad who had been standing by the van the whole time and were now hugging each other, and on the other side the balloon squad and the boy squad who were clapping their hands and patting each other’s backs excited.
“They’re going to think that you just proposed to me or something” Sana laughed
“I can’t help it. I’m the happiest man alive right now. Are you happy?” he asked grinning at her
“I’m happy” she said smiling right back at him.

Hey, I was thinking about a drabble with Elaila if you don't mind and if it's okay for you, I understand if you can't 🙈 who comes up with cheesy pick up lines or who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen or anything else is fine, what you want to choose 🙈 also I wanted to tell you that I love all the drabbles you made 😍❤
Hiii!!
So I wrote this pretty quickly and I’m not sure if it’s any good. Also this is the first time I write something about Elaila so…they might be a little out of character.
Hope you like it though!

Elias isleaning on the wall when she walks past him. She doesn’t see him, she’s focusedon her phone, probably sending a text to someone. She’s wearing a whiteturtleneck and white jeans and Elias literally can’t take his eyes off her.
Before shegets any further he yells at her: “Hey girl, what time do you have to be backin heaven?”
He sees howa few girls turn to look at him, but his eyes are still focused on her. Sheturns around with her eyebrows furrowed and widens her eyes when she sees him.Elias’ lips curve into a playful smirk as soon as she lays eyes on him. Laila’sanswer to this is rolling her eyes and turning around to re-start her waythrough Nissen’s yard.
Not wastingany second Elias starts walking, reaching her in a few steps. He walks by her,his eyes never leaving her face. He knows she’s aware of his presence.
“I’m sorryto bother you, but there must be something wrong with my eyes, I can’t takethem off you.”
That makesLaila stop dead on her tracks and look at him, her eyes narrowed, her lipspressed forming a line.
“I have aboyfriend.” She says and tries to continue her way but Elias takes her hand andmakes her look at him.
“Oh,really? And is your boyfriend as smooth as I am?” He asks raising an eyebrow ather,  closing the distance between themso their bodies are practically pressed against each other.
“Hmm…”Laila makes it look like she’s really thinking about her next words. “He’s aslame as you are.”
“Wow…thatwas harsh.” He says laughing a little bit.
“Yeah?”Laila whispers. She places her hands on his chest and leans in a little bit.
“Yeah.”Elias whispers back cupping her face with his hands and pulling her closerstopping when there are only a few inches between their lips. He looks at hereyes and then at her lips, he can feel Laila’s breath. Looking back at her eyeshe says one more pick up line: “Hey babe, your lips look lonely. Would theylike to meet mine?”
Lailasnorts and rolls her eyes. That was probably the cheesiest line she’s everheard.
“Shut up.”She grabs him by the collar of his t-shirt and pulls him in for a kiss.
Heinstantly kisses her back, lowering his hands from her face to her waist, pullingher closer. The kiss is interrupted by some cheers from a couple of girls.
As theypull apart, Elias is not surprised to find out that the mentioned girls are Eva,Chris and Vilde. Noora and Sana are with them too. Noora is just laughing atthe situation while Sana is shaking her head in disapproval.
“Do you seewhat I have to live with every day?” Sana tells her friends in an annoyed tone. But on the inside she’s happy to see her brother happy. Laila is a great girland ever since they started dating a few months ago, Elias has been happierthan ever. It doesn’t mean that she’s into their pda at school every time Eliascomes to pick Laila up.
“Oh shutup, sis. This is better than you and Yousef making heart eyes at each other allthe time.” Elias shouts at Sana as he puts his arms around Laila and hugs her, kissing her cheek.
Sana rollsher eyes and turns around to leave, followed by her friends.
Elias giveshis full attention back to Laila and smiles widely at her.
“Hellogirlfriend.”
“Hello lameboyfriend.” Laila teases him giving him a quick peck on the lips.
“You lovemy cheesy lines.” Elias says with a smug smile as he tenderly boops her nosewith his finger.
Lailascrunches her nose in a cute way and wraps her arms around Elias’ neck.
“Nah…notreally. But, I kind of love you so…” She shrugs and bites her lip trying tohold the smile.
“Hmm, I canwork with that. I kind of love you too.”

Can you make a story (long or short) based on the word 'beautiful'. Because its a beautiful day to read your beautiful stories! ❤😁
Hi!!
First of all thank you so much for this lovely message!! It means a lot to me that you like my stories.
And then…challenge accepted!!
Thank you so much for sending this prompt to me. I don’t know if this is what you had in mind but I really hope you like it!!
—————x——————
Beautiful (adjective)
1.       Havingbeauty
Saying that Sana Bakkoush is beautiful is as obvious as saying that two plus two is four or that if youstand under the rain you get wet.
When Yousef thinks about it hedoesn’t remember a single moment when he didn’t think that Sana was beautiful.
The first time he noticed her beautywas precisely the first time they met. He was 15 and she was 13 and even if hewasn’t thinking about girls in that time, at least not romantically, hecouldn’t deny the facts.
He remembered entering Elias’ houseon a summer day. He had been there before but for some reason he had never metElias’ sister. He had heard him talk about her, though. Apparently she was kindof shy but very smart and strong, it was clear that Elias really loved hissister. So Yousef had already pictured her as someone nice but when he saw herstanding in the living room every expectation he had ever had was overcome byher beauty. In front of her there was a beautiful girl, no, not girl, abeautiful angel. Yousef knew what beauty was, or what it was supposed to be. Hehad seen movies, actresses that were supposed to be beautiful, girls in hisschool that every boy was in love with because “they were the hottest” butSana’s beauty was something he had never seen before.
She wasn’t like the girls from themovies, she was more…real, pure just…beautiful. That was the perfect word todescribe her, Sana Bakkoush was beautiful.
2.      Possessingqualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear or think about.
Soon, Yousef found himself lookingfor Sana as soon as he would enter the Bakkoush house. He’d be in the livingroom with Elias and the boys and he would hear someone talking in the kitchenand his eyes would immediately search for her and as soon as he laid eyes onher he would feel this joy inside of him. Just the sight of her made him happy.
Then there was her voice. For thefirst couple of months after they met she wouldn’t talk much, she wouldn’t hangout with them much but one day, as Yousef and the boys were in the backyardjust chilling she came out. He’d always remember the first complete sentence heheard from her lips. “Elias, mamma wants to know if your friendsare staying for dinner”. Yes, Yousef had to admit that it wasn’t a lifechanging sentence. But it wasn’t what she said but how she said it. Sana’svoice had a tone to it, a softness yet strength that made his heart skip a bit. Then there was the time she said his name for the first time. He was 16 by thattime and he was about to leave Elias’ house one evening when suddenly he heardher voice behind him. “Yousef, you dropped this”. To say thathis stomach made a back flip as soon as he heard her saying his name would bejust an understatement. He turned around and saw her standing only a few stepsfrom him holding his phone. He was so flustered in that moment that all hecould do was murmur a ‘thank you’, take her phone from her without even lookingto her eyes and get out of the house. Since that moment he couldn’t shake thefeeling of happiness that would get to him every time he heard her voicebecause, damn, what a voice she had.
He would never admit this to anyonebut Sana was pretty much on his mind the whole day. He would be at school andsuddenly find himself thinking about her, seeing her in his mind, hearing hervoice saying his name, just repeating some conversation or even just a lookthey had shared in the past. Sometimes he would even blush at the thought ofher and his friends would notice. He would have to make up an excuse about howhe had just remembered something from a show he had seen or something. But thetruth was that every time he thought about Sana, he couldn’t help but smile.
Oh, yes, Sana Bakkoush wasbeautiful.
3.      Excellentof its kind
Sana Bakkoush was unique. She wasone of a kind.
Not only she had a stunning beautyon the outside but she was had a stunning mind. Yousef remembered the firsttime he had talked to her about science. He was 18 and as almost every day hewas at Elias’ house. It was summer and it was pretty hot so after spendingalmost two hours playing basketball outside he entered the house and went tothe kitchen to find something to drink. That’s when he saw her. Sana wassitting with lots of books and papers in front of her. She didn’t notice him atfirst, she was too focus on whatever she was reading. He stood there, leaningagainst the door frame for more seconds that he’d like to admit, just admiringher. He noticed how she was biting her lower lip compulsively, her left legbouncing under the table, a small frown between her eyebrows.
“Hard exam?” He said startling her a bit “Sorry,I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m just here to have a drink”
She just nodded at him. He grabbed aglass and walked to the fridge to get some juice. He leaned against the counterand looked at her, she had gone back to her books. She must’ve noticed himstaring because after awhile she looked up at him squinting her eyes.
“Sorry, I can leave if you want meto”
“It’s okay, I’m just stressed by thebiology exam”
“Oh I’ve always find that subjectvery hard”
“I like it” she admitted “I love it actually, but thisparticular exam, I feel like I’ll understand it better if I talked about itwith someone instead of just reading it, you know?”
She shook her head sighing andlooked back at her books, starting to read again. He bit his lip and thoughtfor a moment. He had a chance in front of him and he had to take it. He lefthis glass on the counter and walked over to the table. He sat on the chair infront of her and looked at her with a smile, waiting for her to realize what hewas doing. She looked up at him frowning.
“Come on, talk to me about it” he said nodding
“What?”
“You said that it’d be easier foryou if you said it out loud, right? I’m here to listen. Talk to me”
“Really? I don’t want to bore you”
“You won’t. Come on Sana Bakkoush, prove to me that you’re a genius”
He could see her blush for a momentas she looked down to the table once again. She took a deep breath as if shewas trying to make up her mind and finally looked up at him. Then, she startedto talk about cells and genes and molecules and a bunch of stuff Yousef didn’teven understand. But listening to her talking about something that clearly excitedher made him feel so happy yet calm at the same time. How was it possible thatthat 16 years old girl was smarter than him and smarter than any other personhe knew? Oh, Sana Bakkoush was definitely excellent of her kind.
But it wasn’t just about brain andmind. There were lots of other things that made her excellent. For example, basketball. To be better at basketball than Elias wasn’t that big of a deal, even Yousef was better than him. But Sana, Sana was extraordinary. Yousef wasn’tsure how it started, one day he was playing with the boys and the next day Sanawas there with them, beating all of them every single time they played.Watching Sana playing basketball was a spectacle. She was fast and strong andshe had amazing techniques. But what amazed Yousef was the easiness that camewith her movements. It was as if it was natural to her, as if she had been bornwith those skills. But he knew better, he knew that Sana was hardworking, heknew that she had probably spent lot of time training to get that good at it.The dedication Sana always showed to everything she did was something like hehad never seen. Sana never did anything half way, she always put her whole heartin it, push herself to give her 100%. Yousef admired her, but that will come inthe next point.
Until now, all he could say was thatSana Bakkoush is beautiful.
4.      Wonderful
When you look up the word “wonder” in adictionary one of the first definitions that come up is “to be filled withadmiration, amazement or awe”.
If there was something that could define Yousef’sfeelings towards Sana was exactly that, admiration, amazement and awe.
Sana was the most caring personsomeone could ever meet and Yousef saw that every day.
He saw it in the way she would takecare of her brother every time he was sick or just sad. He remembered that onetime when he was 19 and she was 17 and Elias had got drunk. Yousef had calledher and in less than 5 minutes Sana was there, helping him taking Elias to asafe place. He also remembered that one time way before that, when she was only15 and he was 17 when Elias got the flu. He had spent a week in bed and wasn’tallowed to go to school. Yousef had called him every day insisting on going tovisit him but Elias didn’t want Yousef to catch the flu. Still, after three dayswithout seeing him Yousef had grabbed some homemade soup from his mom and goneto Elias’ house.  Mrs Bakkoush opened thedoor and told him that Elias was in his bedroom. He thanked her and went upstairsto see his friend. As he entered the room he wasn’t expecting to see Sanasitting on a chair next to Elias’ bed watching over her sleeping brother. Assoon as she saw Yousef in there she quickly stood up and tried to make himleave. “You’re going to be sick, Yousef” she had told him. “Well, you can get sick too and here you are” he had answered. Because that’swho Sana was, she didn’t care about her, she always put others first. It didn’tmatter to her if she got sick, what mattered was that her brother wasn’t aloneand that Yousef was safe. Eventually both of them had stayed with Elias.
But it wasn’t only with her brother.Sana was caring with everyone surrounding her. Yousef saw it in the way shealways helped her parents with everything they need. Even if she was occupied, even if she had to study, she would always leave everything to try to makeanything easier for her family.
Then there were her friends. Yousefhad lost the count of times he had seen her getting a text form one of herfriends telling her about some problem they had. She would always leavewhatever she was doing and go meet them. It didn’t matter if it was her firstfree day after two weeks of exams, it didn’t matter if she had been dreamingabout spending the afternoon just chilling on the couch and resting. If one ofSana’s friends needed her, she would leave everything to be there for them.
And of course, she was always therefor people she didn’t even know. After Yousef and Sana started to hang out moreand more, right after he came back from Turkey the summer before he turned 20,he was able to see Sana outside her house. He was able to see her kindness topeople that wasn’t her family or friends. He saw her giving up her seat in thebus to pregnant women and older people. He saw her greeting every seller ofevery store with a kind smile on her face. He saw her helping old peoplecrossing the street or carrying their bags. He saw her giving her time to everysingle person that would ask her something.
There was this one day when shespent half an hour trying to explain to a tourist how to get to a place thatwas three blocks away from where they were. Eventually Sana had offered to walkwith them so she could properly show them.
And every single time Sana didsomething like that, Yousef would find himself smiling widely at her, this warmfeeling inside his chest.
Admiration, that was what Youseffelt for Sana every day.
Because Sana Bakkoush is beautifulin every single way there is to be beautiful.

———————————-x———————-
If there’ssomething Sana doesn’t like…
Well, there are lots of things Sana doesn’t like. She doesn’t like prejudices, shedoesn’t like hate, she doesn’t like betrayal, she doesn’t like rudeness, shedoesn’t like cruelty and she doesn’t like unfairness.
But, ifthere’s something Sana really doesn’t like, that’s going to the dentist.
It’s notthat she’s afraid of it. Well, maybe she is a little bit. But it’s not justthat.
It’ssitting in a waiting room for hours, surrounded by people that are just as nervousas she is. Kids running around because they’re too scared to stay still andparents not caring if their children are disturbing the rest of the patients ornot. Only having old and worn-out magazines to be entertained. Always listeningto the same trying-to-be-relaxing music that of course, doesn’t relax her atall.
And let’snot even talk about once she gets in. Just the thought of sitting in thatchair, her mouth opened for longer than it’s humanly possible, the sanitizersmell, the doctor trying to make conversation with you when it’s obvious thatyou can’t answer, makes Sana shiver.
So whenSana’s sister-in-law, Jamilla, asks her to take Nadia to the dentist sheinstantly feels bad about her little niece. She knows that it’s reallyimportant that kids go to the dentist, especially if, like Nadia, they’restarting to lose their baby teeth. But still, she remembers how much she hatedit when she was a kid.
Nadiadoesn’t seem to have that problem, though.
OnWednesday afternoon, when Sana picks her up from her house, Nadia is smilingbroadly at her aunt. And not only that, she’s jumping as they walk down thestreet headed to the dentist office. Sana looks at her niece frowning, thatgirl is thrilled about going to the dentist and that doesn’t make sense at all.
“Why are you so happy about going to the dentist, little girl?” Sana asks her niece as they bothenter the building. The doctor’s office is in the second floor so they decidedto just take the stairs instead of the elevator.
“Becauseit’s fun!” Nadia says running up the stairs and stopping at the dentist’sdoor.
Sanafollows her and rings the doorbell. A few seconds later a blonde nurse opensthe door and lets them in.
“Hi, we have an appointment. Nadia Bakkoush.” Sana tells the nurse.
“The doctor will see you soon, you can wait in that room over there.” The nurse, who by the tag on hershirt is called Astrid, says as she crosses Nadia’s name from a piece of papershe has in her desk.
 -x-
So thereshe is. Sitting in the waiting room, surrounded by nervous people and scaredkids. Reading old worn out magazines and listening to definitely not sorelaxing music.
Sanalooks at her niece and sees her bouncing on the chair a smile on her face.
“Seriously, Nadia, why do you like coming to the dentist so much? Aren’tyou scared?” Sanaasks earning a disapproving look from a mother that has been trying to calm herkid down for the last ten minutes. Now that he’s heard Sana talking about thedoctor being scary he’s crying again.
Sanalooks at her apologetically and turns once again to Nadia.
“Doctor Yousef is really nice and funny and he always gives me candy.”
“Doctor Yousef?” Sana is not sure what is more confusing, the fact that Nadia calls herdoctor by his first name, the fact that a dentist gives candy to kids –isn’tthat supposed to be bad for your teeth?- or again, the fact that Nadia likescoming here.
Her trainof thoughts is interrupted by the blonde nurse, Astrid, entering the waitingroom.
“Nadia Bakkoush? Doctor Acar will see you now.”
DoctorAcar, that sounds more like a doctor.
Nadiaand Sana follow the nurse down a long hallway. One, two, three. The third doorto the left must be Doctor Acar’s office ‘cause that’s where Astrid stops. Sheopens the door and lets Sana and Nadia in before closing it behind them.
Sanalooks around the room trying to find the doctor but her niece and she are theonly people in that room. Not for long though.
Not evena minute since they’ve been there the door is opened and a young man, probablyonly a few years older than Sana, enters the room.
“Doctor Yousef!” Nadia yells as she runs towards him.
Thedoctor, Yousef, crouches to the floor and opens his arms to receive the littlegirl’s hug.
“How’s my favorite patient doing?” he asks her as he pulls away from the hug
“Look!!”Nadia smiles widely at him showing the gap of her missing tooth.
“Oh my god! Are you sure you’re Nadia Bakkoush? The Nadia Bakkoush Iknow is a little girl with baby teeth and you look like a grown up woman.”
“It’s me, doctor Yousef, I promise!” Nadia says laughing loudly. “Tellhim, aunt Sana!”
Youseflooks up and slowly stands up. Now Sana finally gets to see him properly andwell, let’s say that it’s not a bad view, not a bad view at all. He’s tall, dark curly hair, brown eyes that would make anyone get lost in them and oh…lookat that, he’s smiling at her with his perfect dentist teeth. Yeah, Sanadefinitely understands now why her niece loves coming here so much.
He knowsis impolite to stare for as long as he’s staring at her right now but he can’thelp himself. In front of him there’s a young girl, probably slightly youngerthan he is. She’s looking at him with what probably are the most beautiful eyeshe’s ever seen. She’s wearing a red hijab that matches her skin tone perfectly. His eyes wandered to her mouth, she sticks out her tongue just a little bit, itseems like it’s some kind of nervous habit, a nervous habit Yousef is instantlyenjoying. He sees her blink several times and shake her head. He imitates herand takes a step forward.
“Hi. I’m Yousef…uh…Doctor…Acar…sorry.” Why is he so nervous? She’s just a patient’srelative. He’s used to deal with them. But he’s definitely not used to dealwith such a beautiful girl.
“Sana…Bakkoush. I’m Nadia’s aunt.” Sana curses herself for stuttering but she’sstill affected by that man. She was expecting an old scary doctor not anAbercrombie model.
 -x-
And he’ssweet with kids. Perfect. Just perfect. If Sana thought that she could managenot to melt around this doctor, she was wrong. Not only he looks like he couldbe in the cover of one of those magazines she was reading in the waiting roombut he’s such a sweetheart with Nadia. After their awkward greeting, he tookthe little girl in his arms and sat her on the big chair. He then motivated herto keep her mouth opened while he inspected her. ‘How long did you manage tolast the last time you were here?’ he had asked Nadia. ’14 minutes’ she hadanswered. ‘Are you ready to break your record then?’. And that had been enoughfor the girl to be excited about overcoming her mark. He had started countingthe minutes to motivate the little girl. And well, Sana’s heart melted becausehe didn’t need to do that. He could’ve just told her that she needs to keepstill and that’s all. Instead of that, he had turned a very uncomfortablemoment into a game. That was really smart. And sweet.
WhenNadia started to get tired, Sana had joined him in the countdown, making thegirl excited again. Yousef thought that the fact that Sana was the mostbeautiful girl he had ever seen was more than enough to make him melt aroundher. But no, she had to start being cute with her niece and count with him. Shejust had to do that.
NowYousef can’t concentrate ‘cause his eyes keep searching hers. She’s standing afew steps away from them. Happily counting down the minutes her niece has to bein that position, clearly amused by the game. He’s probably been staring for solong because she looks from Nadia to him and their eyes lock. Slowly, her lipscurve into a big smile, a showing-teeth smile and that’s it, Yousef iscompletely gone. That is probably the most perfect smile he’s ever seen, and heknows what he’s talking about, he’s a dentist after all. He finds himselfsmiling back at her before tearing his eyes away from her so he can focus onhis task again.
-x-
“Well, Nadia you should be proud of yourself! You broke your own record.”
Nadiastands up and smiles at her doctor, she really is proud of herself for lastingso long.
“Can I have my lollipop now?” she asks, she’s not going to lie, this is herfavorite part of her dentist’s visits.
“Aren’t lollipops bad for your teeth?”  Sanadoesn’t want to be rude but she really doesn’t see the point on a dentistgiving candy to kids.
“They are, if you don’t brush your teeth after that. But Nadia and Ihave a deal here, haven’t we?” Yousef says smiling. It’s completely normal that she’s asking thatquestion. But he’s learnt that a good way to motivate kids to brush their teethis precisely by giving them an excuse to do it.
“I have to brush my teeth three times a day or doctor Yousef won’t giveme candy. He has a machine that tells him how many times I’ve brushed my teeth.” Nadia widens her eyes as she tellsher aunt about this mysterious machine.
“That sounds like a really interesting machine, indeed” Sana says raising her eyebrows atYousef as her way to admit that that is smart.
Youseflaughs and gives the lollipop to Nadia who jumps excited as she takes it fromhim. He then looks at Sana and takes a step towards her.
“It’s been nice to meet you.”
“Thanks and same.” As much as she tries to hold the smile she ends up grinning widely athim.
“You have beautiful teeth.” Yousef blurts out.
“What?”Sana frowns, half confused half amused. She sees him widen his eyes and bitehis lips. It’s clear that that is not what he wanted to say.
“I’m sorry…that came out wrong. You have a beautiful smile, that’s whatI wanted to say. Sorry.” He says so fast that it’s difficult for Sana to understand him. But shedoes. And she can’t help but blush.
Shebites her lip thinking about her next words.
“Thanks, I was thinking about having a dental whitening actually. MaybeI can make an appointment with you…” She says as casually as she can hoping that hedoesn’t see right through her but at the same time hoping that he does.
“Oh, I don’t think that’s necessary. Your teeth look perfect.”
Sanashakes her head slightly. It seems like she’ll have to be a little more directabout her intentions.
“Actually, I was just looking for an excuse to see you again.”
“Oh, oh, oh…wow, oh…” Yousef stutters before taking a deep breath and finally make a completesentence “Oh that’s…that’s good, I mean…I think I have a free hour tomorrow at1pm and then my shift will be over so maybe we can go out to have something toeat? Although that will kind of ruin your whitening so it doesn’t really makesense” This last sentence he says it more to himself than for her tohear it.
“Like I said, the whitening is just an excuse. Maybe I can come by at 2,once you’re finished?” It seems like if she wants to have a date withthis guy she’ll have to be even blunter about it.
Yousef sighsand chuckles. He’s acting like a dork and she still wants to go out with him.He closes his eyes and shakes his head slightly before finally looking at her,a lot calmer this time.
“I’ll love that.” He says sincerely.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then, doctor Yousef.”

This idea has been on my mind all day, so I decided to write it to you as a prompt.Could you recreate a situation like the one in the inshallah clip?the new school year has started and one Saturday morning Sana finds herself in kitchen peeling carrots, Yousef enters and offers to help her, only that they start flirting in a very obvious way (because they stand in a different point in their relationship then in clip they're kinda together, or they're almost there).Let me know if you like the idea
Hiii!
Thanks for the prompt!!
I don’t know if this is exactly what you had in mind but I really hope you like it :D
———————x—————
“Himom” Sana greeted her mother as she entered the kitchen on Saturdaymorning.
It was October, she had already started her last year of high school but she didn’t have muchto study yet so she decided to go out of her room to spend some time with hermom. It also didn’t hurt the fact that Elias and the boys, including Yousef, were hanging in her living room in that exact moment.
“Hi love”Sana’s mom said with a smile
“What are you doing?” she said as she approached her mom.
Sanasmiled when she realized what her mom was doing, she was peeling not otherthing than a carrot.
“Just making lunch, I think the boys are staying”
“You know…” Sana said hesitantly as she smiled to herself remembering a previous Saturdaymorning “You’re actually peeling that carrot wrong”
“You’re telling me how I’m supposed to peel a carrot?” Mamma Bakkoush asked raising hereyebrows at her
“What? I’m just trying to help…”
“Well, since you’re so willingly to help maybe you can finish this forme while I go to the store to get some ingredients I need” Sana’s mom said as she passed thepeeler to Sana
“Do I have to?” Sana whined
“This is what happens when you try to be smarter than your mom” she said kissing her daughter’scheek tenderly before leaving the room
Sanashook her head and sighed. She took her phone and searched in her playlist fora song, if she had to peel some carrots she might as well do it while listeningto some good music. She found the song she was looking for but before pressingplay she thought about something first. She went to the kitchen’s door andlooked at the living room where the boys were. They were just talking to eachother and laughing and they hadn’t noticed Sana yet.
“Elias”she called her brother with the peeler in one hand and a carrot in the otherone “Uh,mom let me in charge of the food while she’s at the store. I won’t bother youif I listen to some music while I’m at it, right?”
It wasn’tlike she needed permission from her brother to play music. That comment wasmore like an excuse to show a certain boy what she was about to do.
“Sure sis, no problem” Elias said
Sananodded. Her eyes found Yousef’s then, he was already looking at her with hiseyebrows raised. Sana smirked at him and turned around to go back to thekitchen.
She thentook her phone once again and this time she pressed play.
EdSheeran’s voice filled the room as Kiss me started to sound. She played it loudenough so it could be heard from the living room.
“Are you doing this on purpose?” she heard the voice she was waiting for sayingno more than 10 seconds after she played the song
“Huh?”she said looking at Yousef faking confusion “Oh hi Yousef, are you here for adrink?”
“Yeah, I’m here exactly for that” he said biting his lip.
He tooka glass from the cabinet and approached Sana on his way to the fridge. Justlike he had done a few months ago he walked closely behind her, slower than itwas normal.
“You do know that the kitchen is big enough for both of us, right?” Sana said in a low voice as shefelt him a few inches from her back.
“Yeah, I do know that” he whispered standing right behind her.
Sanasmiled to herself and turned around to face him, startled at first by theproximity. She knew he was close but not that close. Yousef noticed the surpriseon her face and quickly took two steps back to give her space.
“I’m sorry, am I making you uncomfortable?” he said kind of panicking “I’mso sorry”
“No, no, Yousef, it’s alright.” She said as she took a step towards him “It’sjust your extra side showing”
Sheshrugged and smiled at him to ease the tension. She then turned around andcontinued with her carrot peeling. She heard him chuckle behind her and walkedto the fridge to finally get that drink he was supposed to want.
“So, your mom trusted you enough to peel a carrot all by yourself? Wow,brave” heteased her
“Well, I’ll let you know that I’m the master of peeling carrots now” she said looking at him while stillpeeling the carrot
That, ofcourse, didn’t end well and before she could stop it she cut her finger withthe peeler.
“Ouch!”she yelled as she tossed the peeler and the carrot on the counter and held herthumb with her other hand
“Are you okay?” Yousef asked taking a step towards her in concern
“Yeah, yeah, it’s just a small cut”
“Let me see” he said as he slowly took her hand into his to examine her thumb.
“See, it’s not even bleeding” she said looking up to him
Yousef waslooking back at her while gently brushing her hand with his fingers. He wasstanding so close to her that if she wanted to she could count his eyelashes.
“Eyelashes, Sana? What is wrong with you? Whydoes this dork have that effect on you?” she thought.
She shookher head at herself trying to focus. Yousef did the same as he too had beenlost in Sana’s eyes and cleared his throat before letting go of her hand.
“Okay, Master of peeling carrots, how about you let me help you so youdon’t lose any of your cute little fingers here?” Yousef said taking the peeler andthe carrot and starting his task
“I was doing just fine before you came here and started to distract me”
“Do I make you nervous?” he said trying to put an interesting voice
Sana rolledher eyes and shook her head.
“Come on you have to admit that I’m the real master of peeling carrots” he said as he threw a peel in herdirection
“Eh, I guess you’re alright. At least the kids won’t starve with you, that’s a good thing”
“Ofcourse they won’t, our kids will be perfectly fed”
Sanawidened her eyes at his sentence as Yousef closed his and lowered his head oncehe realized what he had just said.
“Our kids?” she said trying not to laugh at his embarrassment
“I meant…what I wanted to say was…I mean…you know…” he stuttered not daring to look ather
“It’s good to know that they will have a good meal every day.” She said “You’ll have to settle for sixthough, there’s no way I’m having 12”
Youseflooked up at her in shock at first but then his face lit up and he grinnedwidely at her as she did too.
“Six kids it is” he agreed.

Fix-it fic. Post Sterk i din tro
Hi!
So as I said I’ve written a continuation of today’s clip to try to cheer everyone up a little bit.
In this fic Yousef and Sana talk with real words about their situation.
This is not entirely fluffy but frankly, the situation isn’t either so I’ve tried to keep it as realistic as possible.
I hope you like it and that this doesn’t upset anyone for any reason, I’ve written it with all my respect.
------------------------x----------------------------
How could he be so stupid? What kind of 19 years old boy leaves his phone at work and doesn’t think about getting it back? Yousef cursed himself as soon as he read Sana’s message.
The previous day he had been so busy at the kindergarten that he hadn’t had time to check it and then he had forgotten it at the place. Now, any normal teenager would’ve come back and got it but he thought that it wasn’t a big deal being a day without his phone. Well, surprise Yousef, it is a big deal when your crush decides to finally text you and you take 29 hours to answer her.
Now the question was, what should he answer? Should he just say yes? Should he try to act cool? Whatever, he wasn’t cool, not at all.
“Of course I want to hang out with you!” he texted “What about Friday? I’m leaving on Saturday”
He paced nervously around his room waiting for her reply. What if he had messed up? What if he had waited too long to answer? What if she already had other plans? What if…?
His heart skipped a beat when he heard his phone beeping. He unlocked it and saw a facebook notificacion.
“Oh are you leaving this Saturday? I can’t this week” the text said “I hope you have the world’s best summer”
Yousef felt his heart breaking when he read the message. Once again he had lost the opportunity with Sana. Of course she had plans, if only he hadn’t left his phone at the kindergarten. When Sana finally talks to him, he screws up. He sat on his bed and put his head on his hands. He should’ve told her sooner about his trip, he should’ve told her when he was leaving, he should’ve…
Wait a minute. Yousef took his phone and read the message again, and again, and again. There was something that didn’t make sense. He had told her when he was leaving, he actually had. On Sunday Elias had asked him when he was leaving and she had heard, she had even asked him for how long he was leaving. Why would she act like she was surprise because he was leaving that Saturday? Yousef tried to calm himself, maybe she hadn’t understood him, maybe she thought he meant the following Saturday. But no, the boys were specifically making plans for Friday because Yousef was leaving that Saturday, Sana was there she heard the whole conversation. What was going on? That text didn’t make sense. Was she backing off again? Was she just trying to confuse him? What exactly was she doing?
Well, sitting in his room he wasn’t going to find out, that was obvious.
 -x-
He knocked on the door and waiting impatiently. He was about to knock again when the door opened.
“Yousef? What are you doing here?” Elias asked
“Is Sana home?”
“Why?”
“Elias, is Sana home?”
“Yes, I think so. I know my mom left but I think she’s in her room”
“Cool” Yousef said trying to walk past Elias
“Wow, wow, wow, where do you think you’re going?” Elias said stopping him
“Elias I need to talk to your sister”
“Well, like you just said, she’s my sister so before I allow you to go talk to her you’re going to tell me what’s going on”
“That’s what I want to know. I want to know what’s going on” Yousef said exasperated
“Elias who is…” Sana said as she entered the hall “Yousef…”
She froze when she saw him. She thought she wouldn’t see him before he’d leave.
“Sana we need to talk” Yousef said taking a step towards her
“About what?”
“About the text” Yousef said
“Look, I’m sorry I can’t meet…I just…” Sana said looking at the floor
“Don’t lie to me, Sana, just don’t”
“Okay, can someone explain me what is happening? What text?” Elias asked looking back and forth between the two of them.
“I just want to talk to you Sana, please” Yousef pleaded
“Elias go” she just said
“Are you sure?” her brother asked
“Yes, just go”
Elias nodded and left his friend and his sister alone.
“Sana, what is going on?” Yousef asked
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” she said
“Of course you do. Why are you talking like you didn’t know I was leaving on Saturday?”
“I didn’t…”
“That’s bullshit. You knew” Yousef took a deep breath before continuing “You know Sana I’m just…I’m trying really hard to understand you but you keep giving me mixed signals. We spent the afternoon together and we had what I think it was an amazing time together and then you blocked me on facebook”
“I blocked you before that” she muttered
“What?”
“I blocked you before that…”
“Okay, whatever the fact is that you blocked me and then you invited us to the karaoke place and surprise Even was there and you knew. Then you started to act super cold towards me and I tried to get closer to you and I know I was a dick when I stole your ball but I was just trying to make you smile. And then at Eva’s party you smile at me, like I wasn’t imagining things Sana, you looked at me and smiled and on Sunday you sat by me and talked to me for the first time in forever and then you add me on facebook and say you want to hang out and when I say yes you change your mind and act like you didn’t know I was leaving. Why? Why are you doing this? What exactly do you want from me?”
Sana felt her chest tighten and her stomach sink. She looked at Yousef, she could see the pain in his eyes, the desperation to try to understand her but how could he when even she didn’t understand herself. She tried not to cry but she felt so bad about hurting Yousef and eventually the tears started to roll down her face.
“No, no, no, don’t cry please” Yousef begged her taking a step towards her “Sana please don’t cry, I’m sorry I yelled at you. I’m really sorry”
Sana shook her head and looked at the floor.
“Sana please…I just…look Sana I like you…I more than like you, I’m in love with you and I just…I thought that maybe you felt the same but then I’ve been receiving this mixed signals from you and I didn’t know what to think. But I’m really sorry I didn’t want to make you cry, that’s the last thing I wanted”
“I do” Sana muttered
“What?”
“I do” she repeated this time looking at him “I do feel the same way about you”
“You do?” he took another step hesitantly
“Yes and…I’m sorry I’ve given you mixed signals it’s just…” she said wiping the tears from her face “I saw you kissing Noora and I thought you were together but then Noora told me the truth and she told me that you liked me so I texted you because I really really wanted to hang out with you and to tell you that I like you”
“And why did you cancel?”
“Because you’re not muslim” she said biting her lip
Yousef’s face dropped as he took a step backwards aware of the little space that had been between them
“I understand” he said nodding
“No you don’t. Yousef I want to be with you, I really do but I don’t know how we could make this work. I wouldn’t give up my faith for you and I would never ask you to believe in something you don’t so how could we make it work when we don’t share the same values?”
“But we do, Sana” he said “Look, I’m not going to pressure you into being with me if you don’t feel comfortable with it but we do share the same values Sana. And I respect you and your faith so much and I would never ever do anything to keep you apart from it or to make you feel uncomfortable. If you gave me a chance I’d prove it to you. Just one chance Sana, let me show you that this can work. You put the rules and I follow them”
“Yousef…”
“And if at any moment you want to give up, you want to stop I will respect it, it’s your decision Sana. Whatever you decide I’ll respect it.”
“It wouldn’t be easy” Sana said shaking her head “You wouldn’t just have to convince me, you’d have to convince my whole family, everyone that is around us”
Yousef nodded and took his phone from his pocket.
“What are you doing?” Sana asked frowning “We’re talking about our future here and you’re texting someone?”
“I’m cancelling my flight” he said still looking at his phone
“What? Why?” she said but he didn’t answer, she took a step closer to him “Yousef, why?”
“Because Sana…” he said looking up at her “If I have to convince you and your whole family that I’m worthy of being with you I should get started right now, right? I can’t leave for two months”
“Yousef…you don’t have to do that” she said shaking her head
“I told you, I’m going to prove you that this can work, this is just the first step. So, what do you say? Would you give me a chance and make me the luckiest man alive?”
Sana laughed and rolled her eyes
“Is that a yes?” he asked
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“I’m sure if you are” he said
“Then okay…let’s try this”
“Yeah?” he asked with a big grin on his face
“Yeah” she said smiling
“Yeah?”
“Yousef, yes”
“Just wanted to make sure” he chuckled.
“So, what’s the next step?” she asked “Since you have it all planned”
“Oh, I’m going to make your mom fall in love with me, she’s going to love me”
“A little cocky don’t you think?” she said raising her eyebrows at him
“I made the great Sana Bakkoush like me, after that I can achieve any goal”
“So I’m just a goal for you?”
“You’re more than just a goal for me, you’re my…”
“Soulmate?” she finished for him with a smile
“Exactly that, you’re my soulmate” he said
“And you’re mine”

“We’re here!!” Eva yelled as she got out of the bus.
After atwo hours trip they had finally arrived to the cabins.
Sana, Vilde, Noora, Chris, Eva along withYousef, Elias, Mutta, Adam and Mikael had agreed to spend the last weekendbefore the girls had to go back to class at a camping in the countryside. Sincethey were so many people, instead of tents they had decided to rent two cabins, one for the boys and one for the girls. It was Saturday morning when theyarrived and, even though they had to leave the following day they were allexcited about this trip.
“Ahh I’m so excited for this, it’s going to beepic!!” Vildesquealed as she hugged Sana who hugged her back with a smile
“So, what should we do first?” Adam asked
“We should probably leave the stuff in thecabins and then we can decide” Noora said
“Always so efficient” Elias teased her “Okayboys, the one on the left is ours”
He started to walk towards the cabin with theboys following behind him
“We’ll meet you here in half an hour” he told the girls before enteringthe cabin
 -x-
“Wow, this is such a nice cabin” Vilde said once inside their cabin
“Wait until you see the lake” Sana, who had been there before, said
“I’m liking the idea of the lake” Chris said
“That’s because you want to see Muttashirtless” Evateased her
“And I’m not denying it” Chris winked at her making all thegirls laugh
“So what about you Sana Bakkoush, will this beTHE trip for you and you know who?” Noora asked raising an eyebrow at her
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” Sana said shrugging
“Oh come on Sana, you two have been talkingduring the whole way here” Eva said
“Are you finally going to tell Yousef you likehim?” Vildeasked excited
“That’s the thing though” Noora explained “Theyboth know they like each other, they’re just too shy to do something about it”
“Says the girls who’s been making eyes at mybrother for a month now” Sana said smirking
“I have not”
All the girls stared at Noora with theireyebrows raised
“Whatever, we should get ready” Noora said rolling her eyes
-x-
Half an hour later they were all enjoyingthemselves down by the lake. Vilde and Eva were taking some pictures for theirinstagram accounts, Mikael and Mutta were doing some back flips while Adamfilmed it and Chris cheered them. Elias and Noora were by the shore, hethreatening her to throw her in the water and her acting like she was offendingwhen she was clearly enjoying the situation too much.
Sana sat on the grass a few meters from themobserving all of them with a smile on her face.
“Can I sit?”
She looked up protecting her eyes from the sunwith her hand. Yousef was standing there, hands in his pockets, smiling.
“Of course” she said nodding
He sat down next to her leaving enough spacebetween them for her to be comfortable.
“Are you enjoying yourself?” he asked
“I actually am” she said looking at him “You?”
“I am now” he answered biting his lip
Sana smiled at him and blushed slightly. Shelooked at her brother and her friend down by the shore.
“How long till they finally admit that theylike each other?”Sana asked
“I’d say that they’re going to end up togetherthis weekend, but again, both of them are so stubborn” Yousef said
“Yeah, like it’s clear they like each other”
“Exactly, why don’t they just stop walking incircles and start dating?”
“Yeah…”
She looked at him, he already had his eyes onher. They both pressed their lips together and burst into laughs. They clearlyweren’t the most indicated to talk about not admitting feelings and they bothwere aware of that.
“Wanna take a walk and explore the place?” he asked as he stood up and offeredher his hand
“Thought you’d never ask” she said taking his hand andstanding up
 -x-
“You really know your way through this place” Yousef said impressed as they hadbeen walking for awhile
“Yeah, we used to come here as kids. I nevergot this far through the woods though”
“You used to come here?” Yousef asked
“The cabin where you’re staying used to be oursactually” Sanasaid as she stopped walking to face him
“Really?”
“Yeah, we used to come here every summer butthen we had to sell it and the ones that own the cabin where we’re stayingbought it. They’re friends of my parents”
“Wow, I didn’t know that”
“I actually haven’t been in that cabin since Iwas like 12 or something”
“Why aren’t you guys sleeping there then?”
“Elias got dibs” she said shrugging “Youwant to know a secret?”
“Of course”
“Every time we stayed there I always slept inthe room that is in the attic because I loved the views”
“That’s where I’m staying!” Yousef exclaimed
“Really?”
“Yeah, I can’t say no to an attic”
Sana smiled, it felt good knowing that they hadone more thing in common.
“So, what’s the secret?”
“Oh, yeah, my parents used to measure my heightin the door frame and when I found out we were selling the cabin I wanted totake the frame with me” she laughed a little bit embarrassed “You should’ve seen me cryingbecause I couldn’t understand that I can’t take a door frame with me”
“Aww, I’m sure you were such a cute littlegirl”
“Yeah, but don’t tell anyone” she said pointing at him
“My lips are sealed” he promised placing his hand on hisheart
Sana shook her head and laughed. They restartedtheir walk only stopping when they got to a place full of flowers
“Wow…this is…” Yousef started
“It’s so beautiful…It’s like that film…”
“Avatar”
And in fact it looked like a scene taken out ofthat film. In front of them there were hundreds of blue and purple and pinkflowers surrounded by trees.
Yousef took a few steps into the glade and bentdown to take some flowers. He then turned around and offered them to Sana.
“They’re not bluebells but I hope it’s enough” he said shrugging with smile
“They’re perfect, thank you” she said taking them and smilingfondly at him
 -x-
“Stop it, stop it Elias!” Noora said laughing as Elias keptsplashing water to her
“Huh? Are you saying something? I can’t hearyou over the sound of the water”
“Fine!” She said as she imitated his moves and startedto throw water at him too
“Hey! That’s cheating”
Elias walked over to her and took her hands onhis trying to stop her but instead they both lost balance and fell into thewater with their clothes on.
“I can’t believe you did that!” Noora told him as she felt herclothes being soaked
“Me? You’re the one who made me fall” he said
“Whatever” she rolled her eyes and started to swim awayfrom him
“Wait”
He followed her worried that she might beangry.
“Hey Noora wait, I’m sorry” he said placing his hand on hershoulder to stop her
Noora turned around with a smirk on her faceand before Elias could react she placed her hands on his shoulders and pushedhim down to the water.
“Oh game on” Elias said once he came back to the surface
He swam over to Noora and took her by thewaist, lifting her over his shoulder upside down. He then started to walkfurther into the lake.
“No, no, no don’t you dare Elias”
“You started it” he said
“Fine but if I’m going down you’re going downwith me” shesaid as she wrapped her arms around his waist
“Okay, I have nothing to lose” Elias said shrugging
He took a deep breath and went underwatertaking Noora with him. They were both laughing once they came to the surface.
“Thank you” Noora said between laughs
“For what?” Elias asked confused
“For making me laugh, it’s been awhile and youalways find a way to make me laugh”
“Noora, you deserve to be happy, you deservesomeone who treats you right and who makes you smile”
“Someone like you?” she asked raising her eyebrows
“Well…yeah” he said biting his lip
Noora blinked several times trying to processhis words, she wasn’t expecting him to actually admit it. She bit her lip asshe got closer to him. She looked straight into his eyes and leaned in for akiss wrapping her arms around his neck. Elias reacted right away and placed hishands on her waist bringing her closer.
“Woooohooo!!” they heard someone saying.
They pulled apart and looked at the shore.Vilde and Eva were dancing and jumping while Mutta, Chris, Mikael and Adam wereclapping
 -x-
“About time guys!!!” Mutta exclaimed before turning backto Adam, Mikael and Chris.
“Yeah, talking about couples that finally gettogether…”Chris giving him her flirting look™
Mutta looked back at her confused. He didn’tknow what she was trying to tell him. He liked Chris, he had liked her sincethe first time they met but now he wasn’t sure if she was trying to tell himthat she liked him back or if she was angry about something.
“I don’t…I don’t really know what you…” he stuttered making Adam andMikael, who were watching the scene, laugh
Chris rolled her eyes, it was clear that wordsweren’t going to work with the boy, she needed actions. She grabbed him by thecollar of his shirt and pulled him in for a kiss.
“Wow…” Mutta whispered once they pulled apart “Doesthis mean that you like me?”
Chris tilted her head and glared at him, howslow could this boy be?
“Yes, I like you…do you like me?” she asked getting self-conscious suddenly
“Of course, of course I like you, have you seenyou?” Muttasaid like it was the most obvious thing in the world “You’re like perfect!”
Chris smiled feeling her heart making a backflip like the ones Mikael and Mutta had been doing a few minutes ago. She mayact like she was the most confident girl in the world but when it came to realfeelings, like the ones she had for Mutta, she could became the most shy personin the world.
“Can I kiss you again?” Mutta asked blushing
“You don’t have to ask”
 -x-
“I’m telling you, I’m the best rapper of thesquad” Yousefsaid as they reached the cabins
“Prove it” Sana challenged him
“What? Like right now?”
“Prove it”
“Fine…uhm…I don’t quite remember how it started but…” he took a deep breath before hestarted singing “You gotta be able to smile through all this bullshit. Remember that.Mmm, yeah. Keep ya head up. Yeah.”
Sana wasalready laughing, he looked so focused on the song.
“Shh, I’m trying to concentrate” he said before continuing “Our lifestyles be close captionedaddicted to fatal attractions, pictures of actions be played back in the midstof…the midst of… mashin?”
“Yeah, it’s mashin’” Sana laughed “Best rapper of the squad huh?”
“I know the lyrics, I just can’t concentrate with you laughing at me”“Andwhy do you think I’m laughing?” Sana said
“Wow, thanks, okay fine…I’ll see you…here I am trying to impress youwith your favorite rapper and you treat me this way…cool Sana, just cool” he said as he took a few stepsbackwards towards
“Aw you were trying to impress me?”
“Don’t aww at me” he said pointing at her “I get awkward”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry” she said raising her hands
Hesquinted at her but then he laughed.
“See you later Sana”
“See you later Tupac”-x-
Thegirls were sitting the couches when Sana entered the cabin. They were alltalking about something very excited.
“What is going on here?” Sana asked
“Omg Sana! Where were you?! You’ve missed it!” Vilde said excited
Sanafrowned and sat next to Chris.
“I was going for a walk with Yousef” Sana explained
“You too?! Everyone is getting together!” Eva exclaimed
“What? I’m not with Yousef…wait, what do you mean everyone is gettingtogether? What happened?”
“Noora kissed Elias!” Vilde said
“And Chris kissed Mutta”
Sanawidened her eyes and looked from one girl to another
“You are with my brother?!” she asked Noora first
“Well…yeah…kind of…I mean we kissed and then we held hands and he’s sosweet and…”
“Oh my god yes, finally!!” Sana stood up and hugged her friend, then sheturned to look at Chris “And you, you go girl! Mutta is such a greatguy! I’m so happy for you”
Thistime she went back to her place and hugged Chris
“What can I say? The boy couldn’t resist the temptation” Chris said winking at her
“Okay so what about you and Yousef?” Noora asked
“Nothing, we just went for a walk, that’s all.”
“Oh come on Sana! When are you going to take the final step”
“It’s not that easy…I just I get super awkward when I’m around him” Sana said
“You? You get super awkward? Have you seen him around you?” Noora laughed
“Hey, he’s not awkward he’s…cute” Sana said biting her lip
“Aw, everyone is finding their someone special except me” Vilde said with a sad face
“Don’t worry Vilde, we don’t need a man” Eva said placing her arm around her
Sanalooked at them and smirked, there was so much truth in those words.
 -x-
The sunhad already set and they had already had dinner. Now they were all sittingaround a campfire. The boys had spent 15 minutes trying to light up the flame, eventually Sana was the one that managed to make it work.
“Let’s play a game!” Vilde suggested “Let’s play Never have I ever”
“Vilde, we don’t drink” Elias said
“Me neither” Noora added
“And you know I don’t either” Sana said
“Well, you don’t have to drink drink, you can drink juice or water orsomething, the rest of us will drink. Come on it’s just for the fun” Vilde insisted
“Okay, fine, guys?” Sana asked the boys
“Game on”Elias said
“Everyone knows the rules right? Someone says never have I ever and saysomething and if any of you have done that you have to take a sip from yourdrink” Evaexplained just in case
“Let’s play, let’s play!” Vilde said excited
“I’ll start…never have I ever…cheated on an exam” Noora said
Everyoneexcept Yousef and Sana, who were sitting next to each other, drank.
“Oh boring!” Elias shouted at them
“Smart, not boring” Sana corrected him
“Okay my turn” Eva said “Never have I ever…been in love with my best friend’s sister”
Evalooked straight at Yousef while she said it, she really was rooting for him andSana and well, it was kind of fun too.
Yousefchuckled and shook his head. He looked at Sana who was looking at himexpectantly. He hit his cup against Sana’s and took a sip while looking at herfrom the corner of his eyes. Sana bit her lip and blushed looking at the floor.
“Never have I ever…” Adam started “been in love with my brother’s best friend”
Sanaglared at him, were they all trying to set them up or what?
Thistime Sana was the one that hit her cup against Yousef’s before taking a sip ashe grinned at her.
“Never have I ever liked someone from here” Elias said looking straight atNoora who was sitting in front of him
Everyonedrank laugh and drank for their cups.
“Wait, who do you like?” Eva asked Vilde
“And you?”  Vilde asked her
Sana, who was hearing their conversation took it as an opportunity to talk, maybe itwas her time to push them together
“Never have I ever…” she started “been in love with my best friend”
Theywere all expecting Vilde or Eva to drink, instead, it was Mikael the one whotook a sip from his cup.
“Wait, who?” Chris asked
“Isn’t it obvious? It was Even right?” Vilde asked
As issomeone had called him, Adam stood up instantly catching everyone’s attention.
“I’m not feeling really good, I think I may have eaten too much,  I’m just going to go back inside” he said
“Wait, want me to go with you?” Mikael offered
“No” hesimply said and left
After anawkward silence the game continued.
EventuallyNoora and Elias left to take a walk together and so did Chris and Mutta afterawhile. Only Mikael, who had been extremely quiet since Adam left, Sana,Yousef, Vilde and Eva were left. The two latter were now pretty drunk, dancingand sporadically kissing.
Sanaobserved them as Yousef looked at his friend.
It wasgetting cold and Sana hadn’t thought of bringing a jacket so she started toshiver.
“Are you cold?” Yousef asked her once he noticed
“Yeah, kind of…but it’s fine”
“Here”he said taking his jacket off
“No, no Yousef, you’ll get sick”
“I’ll be fine, seriously, take it”
Heplaced it around her shoulders and rubbed her arms a little bit trying to makeher feel warmer.
“Thanks” she said with a smile
“Hey Sana, can I ask you something about Vilde and Eva?” Yousef asked
“You’re going to ask me if they’re together?”
“Well…yeah”
“Ahh, I wish they were” she sighed “They clearly have a crush on each other, actually I’m pretty sure it’smore than a crush. They’re perfect for each other but they’re too scared toadmit their feelings and…come out”
“Yeah…I get what you mean” he said looking at Mikael
“Adam and him?” she asked
Youseflooked at her and nodded
“We know there’s something between them but I don’t even know if theyknow what that is”
“Guys, I think I’m going to sleep” Mikael said as he stood up
Sana andYousef nodded and watched him leave.
“It’s so frustrating…I want them to be happy but I can’t really doanything about it, you know?” Yousef said
“I know, it’s the same with me and Vilde and Eva”
Yousefnodded and looked at the fire. Then he remembered something
“Come with me, I need to show you something” he said standing up
“Okay?”
 -x-
Mikaelkept turning in his bed, unable to sleep. He shouldn’t have drunk from thatstupid cup when Sana made that stupid question. He was just trying to be trueto himself and all he had managed was to make Adam leave. He opened his eyesand looked at the ceiling, it was too dark to see anything but there were somefluorescent stars stickers there that were slightly shining. He was focusing onthem when he heard a knock on the door.
“Are you awake? It’s me, Adam”
Mikael’sheart skipped a beat when he heard his voice. He sat on the bed and took a deepbreath.
“Come in”he said
He heardthe door opening and a steps getting closer.
Adamstood next to Mikael’s bed, he couldn’t really see him but he knew he wassitting.
“I can’t sleep…mind if I join you? It always makes me calmer” Adam said kind of embarrassed
Mikaelnodded, then he realized that Adam couldn’t see him so he mumbled a yes andmade space for Adam in the bed.
Adamclimbed in and lay down on the left side of the bed. Mikael lay next to him. Theyboth were facing the ceiling.
“Those stars…was this Sana’s bedroom?” Adam asked
“Probably…” Mikael said
Thenthey both laughed and said at the same time
“Definitely Elias’”
Adammoved closer to Mikael, their arms brushing.
“I’m sorry I left like that” Adam whispered
“Why did you?”
“I was…I am scared”
“Scared of what?” Mikael asked confused
“Mikael…now that Even is back in the squad…I’m scared you and I…Imean…you two were the best of friends, the closest ones, you were alwaystogether. After he left you and me got closer and now that he’s back…I’m afraidI’m going to be replaced”
“Adam…Even and I were best friends and eventually we’ll probably be thatagain…but you , you’re different, you’re special”
Adam puthis arm around Mikael’s shoulder bringing him close. Mikael rested his hand onAdam’s chest and buried his face on his neck
“That question…Sana’s question…” Adam said hesitantly “I should’ve drunk…because I amin love with my best friend”
He feltMikael chuckle against his neck
“Good, ‘cause I am too” Mikael whispered in his ear pressing a soft kiss on his jaw.
Adamsighed in relief and hugged Mikael tighter, kissing the top of his head beforeresting his chin there.

“Eva,I think I’m super drunk” Vilde said as she laid on the grass next toEva.
“I’m drunk too” Eva laughed
Vildeturned to face her and so did Eva. The blonde smiled and leaned in to kiss herfriend like she had done so many times.
“Why does it feel nicer when I kiss you than when I kiss boys?” Vilde wondered
“Because I’m a super good kisser” Eva joked
“Eva…I’m serious…or I’m trying to be serious”
“Vilde…I don’t really know” Eva whispered as she brushed Vilde’s hair ofher face “All I know is that I feel so good when I’m with you and I don’t wantit to change”
“And what if it changed for the better?” Vilde asked
“You really think so?”
“I don’t know…maybe I’m just too drunk…”
“Maybe…”
“Or maybe not…”
“Come here” Eva said as she wrapped her arm around Vilde bringing her close “Idon’t want to ruin our friendship”
“Me neither” Vilde said
“You’re the prettiest girl I know, you know that?” Eva said “And not only on the outside”
“I love you Eva” Vilde said as she planted a kiss on Eva’s lips.
“And I love you Vilde”
“Someday?”Vilde asked
“Someday”Eva agreed
 -x-
“Wow, this certainly has changed” Sana said as they entered the guys’ cabin
“Yeah, but not everything is changed, come with me” Yousef said as he guided herupstairs until they reached the attic “Ready to see your old bedroom?”
“Yes”Sana nodded
Yousefopened the door and turned the lights on. Sana looked around, everything waschanged. The walls were painted in a different color, the furniture wasdefinitely new, even the curtains were different. She couldn’t help but feelingdisappointed
“Everything’s changed” Sana sighed
“Again, not everything”  Yousef said with a smile as heleaned against the door “Look here”
Sanafrowned at him but approached him. He pointed with his finger at the doorframe. It took Sana a moment to realize what he was showing her.
“As soon as I came back from our walk I checked it, they’re still hereSana, the evolution of your height along the years” he said smiling “I have to say that you werequite a short girl”
“Shut up”she said slapping him in the arm playfully
“Let’s see how much you’ve grown up”
“Huh?”
Heshowed her a pencil he had on his hand and raised an eyebrow at her
“You want to measure me?”
“Why not?”
She bither lip and thought about it for a moment.
“Okay, let’s do it”
Shestood against the door frame as he approached her. He leaned in and draw a lineon the wood right above her head. Sana looked up at him, his face was only afew inches apart from her. Once the mark was made Yousef looked down at Sanaand saw her staring back at him. He wetted his lips and swallowed
“Sana”he whispered “Can I ask you something?”
She justnodded
“That question…about being in love with your brother’s friend…who didyou mean? And please don’t say Stephen Curry”
“You really need to ask?”
“I want to hear it from you”
“It was you, Yousef” she said biting her lip “I’m in love with you”
Yousef’sface lit up with her words.
“I’d ask you who did you mean when you drank but I don’t think Mutta,Adam or Mikael have a sister…” she said playfully
“I’m in love with you” he simply said
“Good”she said smiling widely
“Now what?” he asked
“Now…how about we take our own advice and take a step forward?” she said reaching his hand andintertwining their fingers
“You mean I can take you out on a date?” he squeezed her hand slightly
“I mean you better take me out on a date”

It wastime to leave.
They werewaiting for the bus to arrive, their stuff already packed. Sana stood on thegrass once again observing their friends.
Eliasand Noora were kissing leaning against one of the cabin. They would stop fromtime to time to look at each other and just smile. It had been awhile sinceSana had seen both Noora and Elias so happy.
Chrisand Mutta were sitting on the stairs of the cabin’s entrance talking andlaughing about whatever random thing. Sana adored the way Mutta looked atChris, he really seemed to care about her and Chris, she deserved the best ofthe world.
Vildeand Eva were sitting on the grass, Eva’s arm around Vilde’s shoulder, talkingto Mikael who was also sitting on the grass holding Adam’s hand. Those twocouples may not be that, a couple, yet, but they were going in the rightdirection. They’d make it work, she was sure of that.
“Best trip ever” Yousef whispered in her ear startling her a bit
Sheturned around and looked at him. He was smiling from ear to ear and she couldn’thelp but do the same.
“Best trip ever” she agreed.

A whole new world.
Hi!!
So yes, this is a Yousana fic based on the Disney movie Aladdin. This fic was asked by @mrspaaadfoots whose gifsets comparing Yousana with Jasmine and Aladdin are the best thing ever!!
This fic is entirely based on the movie so there are some things that I wanted to tell you about it.
-There are lots of references to the movie, scenes and quotes taken right from the movie (like “do you trust me?” “ain’t never had a friend like me” “....sounds strange don’t you think?” and basically the whole last scene) If you don’t understand something, like for example the first parragraph, maybe you should rewatch/watch the movie, believe me, I didn’t remember half of the things hahah
-The fic is based on the movie so some characters may seem a little bit out of character, especially Sana’s father. I know that he would never act like he does in the beginning but in the movie, Jasmine’s father pressures her to marry a prince and only a prince. So the closest thing I could find for this fic was Sana’s father wanting her to be with a muslim guy. I really hope that no one feels annoyed or upset about this, again, I’m just following the movie.
-I’m sorry if the ending is rushed up and messy, but honestly, the ending of the movie is kind of like that.
-I’ve erased Jafar’s character from the fic because I didn’t want to make the fic too long and I didn’t think he was necessary. Also just in case it isn’t clear, Elias is the Genie hahah
Well I think that’s it, again I really hope no one gets upset by this, I’m just following the movie. I’ve rewatched it and taken notes to be as fair to the movie as possible.
ALSO I put a “keep reading” since the fic is so long. I hope it works, especially on phones, in case it doesn’t you can also find it here
I really hope you like it!!

Welcome to Oslo, a city in the south of Norway. It’s actually its main city. Here a lot of families leave and … wait wait wait, don’t go, I have interesting stories to tell. Like that one about that cute blonde girl that met a cute blond boy and…okay, fine, that’s not the story you want to hear right? You’re here for the good stuff. Fine, I’ll give it to you. This story begins with a family, the Bakkoush family, or more specifically, with a girl…Sana.
Sana was loved in her family, she had caring parents and two lovely brothers, although one of them didn’t live with them anymore. Her parents were strict, not authoritarian, but strict, they wanted the best for their daughter, or what they thought it was the best. As she grew up, Sana had always heard her parents saying that one day she’d find a good muslim boy who would take care of her. And there was nothing wrong with that, Sana liked the idea. But as she got older and reached her teenage years she heard that sentence more and more often, sometimes they would even try to introduce her to some boys. Sana knew they were doing it for her own sake, they wanted to see her happy but sometimes she felt as if they were pressuring her. She didn’t want to be with anyone until she was ready, she didn’t want to be with anyone for the sake of being with them, she wanted to fall madly in love with the most unexpected person. But, what would happen if that person wasn’t muslim?
 -x-
“Sana, have you seen Nayat’s son lately?” her father asked her one Sunday morning “He’s grown up to be a very nice  young man. I ran into him the other day at the Mosque.”
“Seriously? Again? I told you, I don’t need you to find me anyone”
“I’m not trying to find you anyone, Sana. I just want you to get to know more people, you’re always with your high school friends. Maybe you should meet new people”
“And what is wrong with the people I know?”
“I just want you to be taken care of”
“Well, maybe I should be the one to decide that!”
She shook her head and got out of the kitchen putting on her shoes.
“Where are you going?” her father asked as he followed her
“Out”
“Sana…you know I only want the best for you”
“Yes dad I know, you want me to find a nice muslim boy who can take care of me and I really hope that one day I’ll find him but that’ll be my decision and not yours”
With that she turned around and left the house.
 -x-
She didn’t remember the last time she had walked along the street market. The stalls were full of food and people filled the street. As she passed a fruit stall something caught her attention. There was a young kid, he was probably around 6 years old, looking at the apples. His clothes were dirty and ripped. He was clearly a homeless boy. Her heart ached at the view, how it was possible that a kid that young had to live like that? Without even thinking about it she walked over to him and took an apple from the stall.
“Do you want one of these?” Sana asked the boy as she offered the apple to him
He nodded shyly and took it from her. He took a bite from it and smiled. Then he turned around to look at who seemed like it was his mother. Sana looked at her too and saw gratitude in her eyes. She nodded and looked at the kid as he went back to her mother.
“I hope you have money to pay for that” she heard a male voice saying behind her
“Huh?” she turned around and saw a man in her 40s frowning at her
“You gave one of my apples to that boy, you better pay for that”
“Oh sure” she said as she patted her pockets looking for her wallet only to find out that she had left it at home “Oh I’m so sorry, I must’ve left it at home”
“That’s not my problem. You took that apple from my store now you need to pay for it”
“But I don’t have money on me right now, maybe if you let me call my parents they can bring it now or maybe I can go home and I’ll bring it to you myself”
“Do you think I’m stupid? Do you think I’m going to let you leave?”
He man took a step closer to her making her shiver in fear.
“I swear I…”
“Leave her alone”
Sana looked at her left and saw a guy standing right next to her. He was taller than her but he didn’t seem much older than her, maybe one or two years. He had wavy hair and the most beautiful brown eyes Sana had seen in her life. But he wasn’t looking at her, he was glaring at the market man.
“She gave one of my apples to that kid and now she doesn’t have money to pay for it” the man explained
“Really? All of this because of an apple? She gave it to a kid that didn’t have anything to eat” they boy said
“Well, that’s not my problem. You take something from me, you have to pay”
“But I told you, I don’t have money, if you let me go to my house I’ll pay for it” Sana tried to reason with the man
“And I’ve told you, I don’t trust you”
“This is unbelievable” the boy said “You know what? I was going to pay for it but you don’t deserve it, how can you be like this? It’s just an apple”
He sounded exasperated. He shook his head and looked at Sana gasping slightly as he really got to see her.
Yousef had been walking down the street when he saw a girl giving an apple to one homeless kid. He didn’t get to see the girl properly but he couldn’t help but smile at the gesture. Next thing he knew, a man was yelling at her. Before he could even think about it Yousef walked over to them to try to help the girl. It wasn’t until he had spent about a minute there that he looked to his right and saw her, really saw her. His heart skipped a beat as soon as he laid eyes on her. She was the prettiest girl he had ever seen. He didn’t know what it was but there was something in her that made it impossible for him to look away.
“Well if neither of you are going to pay me then I’ll have to call the police, look there’s an officer” the man said making both Yousef and Sana look at him
He was pointing at a police officer right behind them.
“Police! Police!” he called
Yousef knew he had to act fast, if the police came then they would be in trouble. Like sure, he could just pay for the apple but it was more a matter of pride, that boy was a mean person and he didn’t deserve it.
He looked at the girl next to him and offered his hand to her.
“Do you trust me?” he asked
The girl looked at him frowning for a moment not sure of what he was asking. He pointed with his head at the policeman that was approaching them and then looked down at his hand.
Sana bit her lip and thought for a moment. This guy was asking her if she trusted him. She didn’t even know him. But there was something in him…Sana didn’t know why but she did feel like she could trust him. She looked at his hand and took it intertwining their fingers. Then she nodded letting him know that she, in fact, trusted him. Next thing she knew, the boy was kicking one of the sticks that kept the stall firm and all the fruit fell to the floor. He used the distraction to start to run, leading Sana with him. She heard the yells of the man and the police officer but they didn’t stop. They kept running, the boy leading her through the streets. They only stopped once they reached a building. There was a fire escape in the wall.
“Come on” he said as he started to go upstairs.
As they reached the top he crouched to the floor and told her to do the same. They stayed there for a moment until they saw the police and the man running through the street still looking for them
“I think we’re safe now” he said as he sat down. “Are you okay?”
He looked at her and she felt her stomach making a back flip, who was this guy that had this effect on her?
“Yes, I’m okay” she said sitting down too “Thank you”
“It’s fine. I probably should’ve paid him and not drag you around but…it didn’t seem fair, you know?”
“Yes, I get it. He was being mean. He didn’t deserve it” Sana agreed
“So, where were you going before we ran into each other?” the boy asked
“Oh, nowhere actually. I had a fight with my father and I just had to leave” Sana said shrugging
“Want to talk about it?” he asked
“It’s just…I know he wants the best for me but lately he’s been all like ‘You should meet new people, new muslim people and maybe you’ll find a nice muslim guy to take care of you’ and it’s not like it’s a bad advice or anything, I actually agree but I just…I want to be able to decide for myself you know?”
Yousef felt a little disappointed after listening to her. She was looking for a muslim guy, her parents wanted that for her and he wasn’t that. There was no way her parents would approve their relationship. Relationship? What was he even thinking about? He had just met her. He didn’t even know her name and he was thinking about having a relationship with her? How did that make any sense at all? But again, there was something in her…
“I think is safe to go down now” the girl said looking at the floor
He followed her gaze and saw that indeed the street was empty. Yousef nodded and stood up, leading the way to the street. They started to walk in silence, making sure that they weren’t going to the market’s direction.
“So…what about you? What were you doing before we ran into each other?” she asked him
“Nothing really, I was just on my way home from work”
“Where do you work?”
“In a kindergarten” Yousef said smiling
“Really? My brother works in one too. That’s so nice”
“Yeah, I really like kids” he said nodding, then he added “Hey, I just realized, I don’t even know your name yet”
“Oh, it’s…”
“Sana!”
He saw the girl widening her eyes as she heard that name being called.
“Dad?” she said confused “How did you find me?”
Yousef saw as one older man approached them frowning.
“I’ve been walking around for awhile. You didn’t take your phone so I was just hoping I’d find you” the man said
“Yeah, I forgot about it” the girl, Sana, answered
Sana…Yousef repeated the name several times in his head as he watched her and her father talking. He loved the sound of her name.
“You can’t run like that Sana, and who’s this?” her father said pointing at Yousef
“Oh, this is…just someone I ran into and…”
“Whatever, you have to come with me, we’ll talk about this at home”
“But…”
“Sana, please”
He saw her taking a deep breath and nodding. She smiled at him apologetically before walking towards her dad.
“Bye Sana” Yousef said after her
She turned around and looked at him once more, and then, she was gone.
 -x-
“Earth to Yousef, are you there man?” Elias said as he waved his hand in front of his face.
It was the day after his encounter with Sana, the mysterious girl from the market, and Yousef hadn’t been able to stop thinking about her.
Now he was in his break at work and his colleague, Elias, had been trying to tell him about some girl he was dating for the last 10 minutes but being honest Yousef hadn’t been listening.
“Sorry, you were saying?” Yousef said shaking his head trying to focus on his friend
“Whatever…what’s going on with you? You’ve been distracted the whole morning”
“Nothing…It’s just…I met a girl yesterday at the market…”
“What? Really? Finally!!”
“Yeah, don’t get too excited, I won’t see her again”
“What? Why not?” Elias asked
“Because she left and I didn’t get her number or anything…and besides I don’t think it would work anyway…she’s muslim and she’s looking for a nice muslim guy…and you know that’s not me”
“Well, yeah, but you’re the nicest boy I know, any girl would see that”
“Yeah…just forget about it…”
“No, but tell me more about her, I want to know” Elias insisted
Yousef sighed remembering the previous morning.
“She’s smart and fun and…”
“Pretty?” Elias asked
“Beautiful!” Yousef said excited “She’s got these eyes that just…wow…and her smile…ahh…but she’s gone, her father found her and made her leave”
“Oh bro you sound like you’re in love!”
“Yeah…maybe…but I mean I have no chance”
“Bullshit, you just need to find her and make her see that you’re worth it. Do you at least know her name?”
“Yeah, and it’s the most beautiful name I’ve ever heard…Sana”
Elias frowned and squinted his eyes. It couldn’t be…could it? He remembered his father and his sister coming home the previous morning, his sister clearly upset. And he might have heard something about the market.
“Uh…Yousef…this girl…was she petite, wearing a hijab, brown eyes, dimples?”
“Yes, yes like that exactly” Yousef said nodding
“Okay, this is going to be weird but…let me show you a picture”
Elias took his phone and searched for a picture of his sister. He found one with both of them smiling, his arm around her.
“Is this the girl?” he asked showing Yousef the picture
“Yes!!! That’s her, that’s Sana!!! How do you know her? Wait…she’s not…she’s not your girlfriend, is she?”
“No, no, no, no. She’s my sister”
“Your sister? But I thought you only had one sister” Yousef said confused
“And I do”
“But…you’re always referring to her as your baby sister and she’s like…what? One or two years younger than us?”
“Well yeah but she’s still my baby sister”
“Oh god, now I feel so embarrassed. I’ve talked about her eyes and her smile with you and…” Yousef covered his face with his hands embarrassed
“No, it’s fine, it’s fine. Like I told you you’re the nicest guy I know and now that I know that the girl you met is my sister…you know what that means right?”
“No…”
“That I, my friend, am going to help you”
“Help me how?”
“I’ll invite you home and you just have to talk to her, it’ll be fine”
“What? No, don’t you know me? I suck at talking to girls, I suck at flirting, I always get too awkward”
“That’s because you ain’t never had a friend like me, but now I’m going to help”
“Have you forgotten something? I’m not muslim” Yousef said shaking his head
“But she doesn’t need to know that…not yet”
“Elias, I’m not lying to her”
“It’s not lying to her, it’s just…omitting the truth until she realizes that you two are made for each other”
“And what about your parents”
“Same thing, they’ll learn to love you. Just trust me, tomorrow you’ll come to our house and she’ll love you”
Yousef looked at his friend unsure. He wanted to see Sana again, he really really really liked her, he knew that it was too soon but again, there was something in her that he couldn’t shake it. Still, he didn’t want to lie to her about such an important issue. But maybe Elias was right, maybe he could just avoid that topic and let her believe he was muslim until he had proved to her and her family that he was worthy.
  -x-
“Hey sis” Elias said as he entered Sana’s room with a huge smile on his face
“What do you want?”
“Why do I have to want anything? Can’t a brother just come and say hi to his sister?”
“A brother? Yes. You? No. What do you want Elias?”
“I’m just here to let you know that a friend will come over in a few minutes”
“Mutta? Adam? Mikael?”
“Nope, this one is a new friend. You don’t know him. But maybe you should. He’s such a nice guy. I’m sure you and our parents will love him”
“You too Elias? Why can’t you all stop with that already?” Sana said rolling her eyes
Elias had never tried that before, he had always stayed out of the “let’s find Sana a boy” thing. He even had been on her side so many times. And now here he was, trying to set her up with one of his friends. And she wouldn’t have minded any other time but since she had met that boy, she didn’t even know his name, at the market she hadn’t been able to stop thinking about him. She was so embarrassed about the way she had had to leave. She wished that at least she would know his name, but there was nothing she could do now, there was no way she would meet him again.
“I’m not doing anything Sana. I just…I think you’ll get along with this friend. His name is Yousef and he’s such a nice guy”
As he finished the sentence the doorbell rang.
“He’s here, come open the door with me”
“No”
“Sana, please? If you don’t want to you don’t have to talk to him but just, please, come and open the door with me”
“You’ll leave me alone after that?” she asked
“I promise”
Sana shook her head, sighed and stood up following her brother out of her room. She stayed in the hallway as she saw Elias opening the door to his mysterious friend.
“No way” Sana whispered as soon as she laid eyes on him.
She felt her heard skip a bit and her hands shaking. The boy she had met in the market, who apparently was called Yousef, was standing right in front of her.
“Hi Sana” he greeted her with a smile
She looked from him to her brother and then back to him. Then it clicked. This was all a scheme
“I can’t believe this” Sana said feeling the anger taking control of her body “This? All of this? This was staged? Was our meeting at the market staged too? Was all a scheme to get us together? I can’t believe this. When are you going to understand that I don’t want anyone to make decisions for me?”
She shook her head and left for the backyard before any of the guys could stop her.
“What did just happen?” Yousef asked confused
“I guess she thinks this was a set up?” Elias said
“What did you tell her?”
“That I have this really nice friend and that she’d like him”
“Are you kidding me? She told me how she was sick of people trying to make decisions for her and now she’s going to think that that’s exactly what we’re doing”
“Okay, relax, all you have to do now is talk to her”
“And tell her what?”
“The truth…well not the whole truth, but tell her that you didn’t know who she was when you met her at the market and I don’t know... Convince her to go out with you. Do something, Yousef”
 -x-
Sana was sitting on the grass trying to calm herself when she heard steps behind her.
“Sana?” she heard his voice saying “Can we talk?”
“I don’t want to talk to you Yousef” she said surprised as how good his name sounded.
Then she shook her head reprimanded herself for that thought.
“Please, just let me explain”
“Explain what?” she said standing up and facing him “That you lied to me?”
“I didn’t lie to you. I swear I didn’t know you when I met you and I didn’t know Elias was your brother. You have to believe me”
“Just leave me alone” she said crossing her arms on her chest
“Okay…I’m sorry…just know that I do think that you should be free to make your own choice. Now I’m going to leave and you won’t have to see me again if you don’t want to”
He took a step back and was about to leave when he called him
“Wait…you really didn’t know who I was?” she asked
“I didn’t”
“And you didn’t know Elias was my brother when you came here?”
“That I did…I was talking about you to him and we realized you were his sister but I only came here because I wanted to see you again, I wouldn’t pressure into anything”
“And what did you have planned?” she asked biting her lip
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you said you came here to see me, I’m sure you had something in mind…what did you have planned?”
“Well I…” he said scratching the back of his neck nervously “I wanted to show you something…”
“What?”
“Is a surprise” he looked at his watch and added “And if you want to see it we have to leave now. What do you say?”
She thought about it for a moment. Yes, he had come knowing who she was but he had sworn that he didn’t know who she was when they met. And Elias had said that he was a nice guy, her brother wouldn’t lie to her. She felt really comfortable around Yousef and who knows? Maybe he was the guy for her, the one her parents had been talking about.
“Let’s go”
 -x-
They left the house and quickly made their way to the nearest subway station. As they were about to buy the tickets Yousef insisted that he was paying for hers since it had been his idea to go there but when he patted his pockets looking for his wallet he froze.
“No way…no freaking way” he muttered
“What? What happened?”
“I’m so stupid, I can’t believe this”
“What happened?” she asked alarmed
“I’ve forgotten my wallet” he said embarrassed
“Oh, it’s okay, been there, remember? I’ll pay for the tickets” Sana said as she reached for her pockets, cursing herself when she realized they were empty “I’ve forgotten mine too…”
Yousef looked at her and burst out laughing. What were the chances that both of them would forget their wallets?
“I guess we’ll have to walk” Sana said shrugging
Yousef looked at his watch and sighed. He wanted to be at the spot before the sun would set and if they went walking there was no way they would reach it, even if it was only one subway stop away. He looked around trying to find a solution. His eyes focused on the barriers that only opened once the passengers would introduce their tickets and that stayed opened for about 15 seconds after that. It was a big risk but he had to try. He turned to face Sana and offered his hand to her like he had done the first time they met.
“Do you trust me?” he asked
“What?”
“Do you trust me?” he repeated
Sana hesitated but then she nodded and took his hand.
“I do”
“Then…”he looked at the barriers and saw a woman introducing her ticket and the train arriving, this was their chance “let’s go”
With that he started to run towards the barrier and as soon as the woman had passed he took those 15 seconds to get through them, his hand firmly holding Sana’s and bringing her with him.
Sana widened her eyes when she realized what they were doing but she didn’t hesitate as she run through the barriers.
They heard some screaming behind them, the security guy had seen them and was now following them.
Yousef looked at him, then at Sana who nodded at him reassuring her trust in him. Yousef kept running until he reached the train and jumped in it still holding Sana’s hand. She followed him and in a few seconds they were inside the train seeing the doors closing before the security guy could reach them.
They stood in the train panting and laughing.
“That was…intense” she said between laughs
“Yeah” he laughed too
“Uh…Yousef?” she pointed behind him at a security guy who was making his way towards them “I think his partner may have told him about us”
Yousef looked at the security guy and then at her in panic, he didn’t have a solution now.
“Damn it…it’s the next stop, we have to get to the next stop”
“Do you trust me?” Sana asked as she offered her hand to him, she had an idea
He looked at her blinking, had she just quoted him?
“Do you trust me?” she repeated
“Of course” he said taking her hand
“Then run”
Now she was the one leading the way. She ran from one wagon to another trying to keep as much distance from the security guy that was following them as it was possible. Just as they reached the last wagon the train arrived to the station and stopped. They jumped off the train as soon as the doors opened and ran out of the station without looking back. They only stopped once they were a few streets away from it and they were sure no one was following them.
“We need to stop running away from people” Yousef said as he tried to catch his breath leaning against a wall
“We definitely do”
“But it was fun” he said smiling
“Yeah” she smiled back “It was fun”
They looked at each other’s eyes for a bit getting lost in the moment.
“We should go” Yousef said
Sana nodded and followed him.
 -x-
“Well this is it” Yousef said as they reached the spot
Sana looked around in awe. They were on top of a hill. There were trees and flowers all over the place, bluebells, azaleas and lots of other types of flowers Sana couldn’t even name. But that wasn’t it, from that spot they could see the whole city and just as the sun was setting it was the most beautiful sight Sana had seen in her life. It was as if she was in a whole new world.
“This is beautiful” she said amazed.
“Yeah, it is” Yousef whispered, only he wasn’t looking at the city but at her.
She caught him looking and smiled while blushing. He smiled back at her and sat on the grass. She followed his lead and sat next to him, both of them facing the city.
“It’s such a great thing that Elias told you that I love flowers” Sana said biting her lip
“Yeah, it was…wait what?” Yousef asked looking at her, she wasn’t supposed to know that. “It was a test, wasn’t it?”
“Yes, I wanted to see if my brother had had something to do with this”
Yousef sighed embarrassed before talking
“I did ask him about what you liked”
“And why didn’t you just tell me?”
“Because…liking someone you just met sounds strange don’t you think?” he said looking at her
“Not that strange” she smirked at him and bumped her shoulder against his slightly.
He grinned widely at her, did that mean that she liked him too?
“So, how did you find this spot? Did my brother tell you about it?”
“No, my grandma used to take me here as a child. I’ve always loved flowers too and she would take me here and tell me the names of all the flowers. Then we would look at the city. She always said that I could achieve everything I wanted in life, that if I wanted to I could even be a prince…she used to call me that, her handsome prince”
“That’s a lovely story” Sana said smiling.
“She died last year. I miss here every day” he said looking at her, then he added trying to light up the mood “and well, no one has called me their handsome prince again”
She chuckled and shook her head.
 -x-
“Thank you for walking me home” Sana said as they reached her house a few hours later.
They had spent the evening talking about random things and laughing. Her cheeks actually hurt from smiling. She had never felt that comfortable around someone as she felt around Yousef. And same thing happened to him, he still couldn’t believe that a girl he had just met could make him feel that much.
“Of course”
“I’ll see you soon?” she asked hoping she didn’t sound too eager
“Yeah, of course…I…I can come by tomorrow if you want to”
“I’d love that” she smiled.
“Then I’ll see you tomorrow”
She bit her lip trying to decide if she should do what she was thinking about or not. She decided to do it and took a step closer to him leaning in and pressing a soft kiss on his cheek.
“Goodnight my handsome prince” she whispered as she turned around and started her way to the door
“Sleep well princess” she heard him saying after her.
He saw her entering the house still in shock from the kiss, he could still feel her lips against his skin. As soon as he was left alone in the street he couldn’t help but yell a huge “YES!” and throw his fist in the air. This was what happiness felt like, he was sure of it.
 -x-
Sana and Yousef kept hanging out for the rest of the week. He would pick her up at her house and they would just grab a coffee, this time they would remember taking their wallets, or just take a walk around the city.
On Friday evening as they arrived to her house the front door opened and her father got out of the house and approached them.
“So you’re the guy that has been going out with my daughter this past week. Elias has told me about you” he said as he reached Sana and Yousef
“Nice to meet you, sir” Yousef said afraid of his reaction.
Sana’s father squinted at Yousef making him more nervous that he already was but then he started to laugh.
“I’m really glad to finally meet you” he said patting Yousef’s back “I’ve seen my daughter smiling every night after meeting you and I know that’s thanks to you. And my son, Elias, has told me that you’re the best guy he’s ever met”
“Oh” Yousef said blushing as Sana tried to hold her laugh seeing his reaction
“Ahh, my daughter finally with a nice muslim guy” Sana’s father said as he squeezed Yousef’s shoulder before getting inside the house.
Yousef’s smile dropped at that. He had been feeling guilty about lying to Sana the whole week but now having the confirmation that her father also thought that he was muslim was like a punch in the stomach. He quickly said goodbye to Sana before she could notice his change of mood and waited until she was inside the house to take his phone and text Elias to come out.
 -x-
“What’s happening?” Elias said as he met his friend outside his front door
“I can’t do this anymore Elias. They think I’m muslim. I’m not”
“But they like you, Sana likes you, my parents like you”
“Because you told them I was muslim” Yousef said exasperated “What if they find out? What if Sana finds out? I’d lose her”
“But she doesn’t need to find out that you’re not muslim Yousef” Elias said trying to calm him.
“I can’t keep lying to her”
“You don’t have to” a female voice said startling them.
Leaning against the door frame, a very disappointed Sana was looking at them.
“Sana…”
“I saw you two talking here and I was going to ask you if you wanted to come in…but I guess that won’t be necessary since you two are here plotting to trick me”
“Sana it’s not like that” Elias said
“Save it…I can’t believe you two lied to me”
Before any of them could answer she turned around and entered the house, closing the door behind her.
“That’s it, that’s the end. I’ve lost her. She’ll never forgive me. She hates me”
“Yousef, Yousef, relax. Not everything is lost yet okay? You just need to apologize to her”
“She won’t listen to me”
“Maybe not now but…let me talk to her, I’ll explain everything to her. And you can come tomorrow and tell her”
“But…”
“No but…go home, I’ll talk to her and you can come tomorrow”
 -x-
“Sana? Can I come in?” Elias asked as he knocked on his sister’s door
“Leave me alone Elias”
“Sana please let me explain”
He heard steps getting closer to the door and two seconds later Sana was standing in front of him
“What do you want to explain? That you two lied to me?”
“Yes but…it wasn’t like that Sana I swear”
“Like I’m supposed to believe your word”
“Please just listen to me okay?” he begged, Sana crossed her arms on her chest and waited “Okay, so as he told you Yousef didn’t know you were my sister when he met you. We found out the next day when he was talking about you. He said that he really liked this girl he had met but that her parents wanted her to find a good muslim guy and he wasn’t muslim so he didn’t have a chance with her. When I found out that you were the girl he was talking about I decided to help him. I know Yousef, he’s a nice guy and I knew that you two would get along. I mean you like him, you can’t deny that. I insisted that he shouldn’t tell you that he’s not muslim and he didn’t want to do it at first but I convinced him. The guy thought he didn’t have a chance with you, that’s why he went along with it. But that doesn’t mean that he’s been fake with you. Everything you two have lived this past week has been real. And he feels so bad about lying to you Sana. Right now he was telling me how he couldn’t do it anymore”
Sana looked at her brother not sure of what to think. He seemed sincere and she knew that Elias would never do anything that would be harmful to her. And then, there was Yousef, she didn’t want to believe that he was a bad guy. He was the nicest boy she had ever met, he was respectful and kind and funny and smart.
“He’s going to come tomorrow to talk to you…it’s your choice Sana but I think you should give him a chance”
“What about our parents? They won’t accept it”
“We’ll worry about that later. I’m here for you Sana.”
She nodded and took a step closer to her brother, wrapping her arms around his neck to give him a hug. She was still confused about the whole thing but she knew that she had to give Yousef a chance to at least explain himself.
 -x-
“I’m sorry I lied to you”
Those words were the first ones that came out of Yousef’s mouth the following day. He had arrived to Sana’s house at 10 am and she had opened the door and led the way to the backyard without saying anything at all. As soon as they stood in front of each other on the grass he had taken a step towards her and apologized for lying to her. Elias was there too, just in case he needed to meddle between them.
“I know why you did” she said “And I forgive you but…”
“Your parents…”
“Yeah…”
“So, I guess this is good bye” Yousef said in defeat
“This isn’t fair” she whispered
“My father doesn’t have to know that you’re not muslim, Yousef” Elias said
Yousef looked at Sana who nodded in agreement with Elias but he shook his head at her.
“I have to stop pretending to be something I’m not” Yousef said
“I know…” she sighed
“Sana”
Yousef, Elias and Sana were startled to hear Mr. Bakkoush’s voice behind them. He was standing at the backyard door. He had seen them through the window and had decided to join them to ask if Yousef wanted to stay for dinner only to hear them talking about Yousef not being muslim.
“Is it true? You’re not muslim?” he asked Yousef as he approached them
“It is true, I’m sorry I lied, sir” Yousef answered looking at the floor
“Do you like him?” Sana’s dad asked her
“I do”
“Does he make you happy?”
“Yes, he does”
He looked at his daughter, then at Yousef and then back at his daughter. He could see the hope in her eyes.
“Then I say that you shall be with whomever you deem worthy” he said smiling at Sana
Sana’s lip curved into a big grin and she turned to Yousef
“Him, I choose him” she walked towards him and stood right in front of him “I choose you Yousef”
Yousef’s face lit up at her words and he was about to say something when Elias joined them placing an arm around each of them.
“Oh all of you, come over here. Group hug!!!” he yelled as he pulled both Sana and Yousef into a hug making them laugh.
“Well, we should be out of here” Elias said as he pulled apart and walked towards his father “Good bye you two crazy lovebirds”
With that, Yousef and Sana were left alone in the backyard.
“Can you believe that it was that easy?” Yousef said chuckling
“No, I honestly thought he wouldn’t allow it…or at least he wouldn’t accept it…us” Sana admitted
“I’m glad he did” he said taking her hand in his
“Me too”
“So…what now?”
“Now…now we start a whole new life” she said smiling
“A whole new life for you and me…sounds good”

Hi! I read that you wouldn't be bothered by a new prompt so I decided to send you one. Yousef is back from Turkey and is invited at Jamilla's wedding; during the party he overhears some of Sana's aunts asking her about her romantic life and since he notices that she's getting uncomfortable (they're "together", but no one knows) he decides to help her. I hope you decide to write it, let me know! 😊
Hi!!
Thanks for the prompt. I hope you don’t hate me for this but I completely changed the prompt…like instead of them being together I wrote it as they’re not together but Yousef steps in to save Sana and says he’s her boyfriend so yupp, fake relationship prompt!
I really hope you don’t mind I changed it and that you like it!
Thank you again!!
————————x————–
“Sana dear you look stunning tonight”
“Thank you aunt Amina” Sana said with a smile
After a year of preparation, the day of thewedding between her brother Abdu and Jamilla had arrived. The ceremony had beenso beautiful and now they were at the celebration. She wouldn’t admit it butSana had been kind of hoping that she wouldn’t run into her aunt Amina and heraunt Nayat. She loved them and they were always kind to her but they were alsovery nosy and Sana didn’t feel like talking to them in that moment. She lookedaround searching for an excuse to leave and, as always, her eyes landed in him,in Yousef. He was standing a few meters apart from them talking to Elias andthe boys. He noticed her staring and looked at her with a smile that made Sanablush and look away in embarrassment.
“So Sana, how is life treating you?” Nayat asked
“It’s fine, I’m done with my second year ofhigh school and I can’t wait to start the third one”
“Yeah, yeah, studying is important but whatabout you? How are you?”
“I’m fine aunt Amina”
“Just fine? Aren’t you…I don’t know maybe morehappy that other times?”
“What are you trying to ask aunt Nayat?”
“Ah, honey, it’s pretty clear. Is there anyspecial boy in your life?” Amina asked
“We would ask your mother but she wouldn’t tellus” Nayatadded.
Sana just rolled her eyes and shook her headexasperated. Every time she was with her aunts they ended up having the sameconversation.
“Oh, Sana don’t be like that, we just careabout you and your happiness” Mina said
“Yes, I mean it’s totally fine if there’s noone in your life…I mean at your age I was already engaged to your uncle andwell Jamilla is married already and…”
“We just don’t want you to miss your chance”
“I mean you’re still very young and beautifulbut beauty doesn’t last forever and…”
“Sana, here you are. I was looking for you” a male voice interrupted theconversation.
Sana turned around and saw Yousef standingright next to her with a big smile on his face.
“Hi Yousef” she said relieved but also confused
“I brought you some tea, it’s your favorite” he said handing it to her
She smiled at him thankfully and took a longsip of it
“Oh sorry, where are my manners?” Yousef said turning to Sana’s aunts“I’mYousef, Sana’s boyfriend”
Those four words were enough to make Sana chokeon her tea and start coughing.
“Are you okay, love?” he said patting her back softly
“Boyfriend? Sana! Why did you let us rant aboutyou ending alone when you had a boyfriend!” Nayat said excited
“Uh…” Sana looked from her aunt to Yousef notknowing what was going on
“Oh you know how Sana is, always so shy” Yousef said with his charming smile“It’sbeen really nice to meet you but would you mind if I take Sana with me for amoment? I really like this song and I’d love to dance with her”
“Of course sweetheart, you two enjoy” Amina said
“Shall we?” Yousef asked Sana who was still in shock
She just nodded and followed him to the dancefloor.
“Okay, what was that?” she asked him as soon as they werefar enough from her aunts
“I was trying to save you, it looked like youneeded help”Yousef said shrugging
“And you’re only idea was to tell my aunts thatyou’re my boyfriend, in a room full of my family”
Again, Yousef shrugged with a smile
“I just saved you from a very awkwardconversation and this is how you treat me? Harsh, Bakkous, really harsh” he said shaking his head as if hewas offended. “I think the least you could do is dance with me”
Sana chuckled and nodded
“I guess that I have no other choice…since yousaved me”
He smiled at her and took her hand while heplaced his other hand on her waist, leaving enough space between them so shewouldn’t be uncomfortable. They swayed to the rhythm of the music while staringinto each other eyes, unaware that they were being watched.
 -x-
“Aysha! Why haven’t you told us that Sana has aboyfriend” Nayatsaid as she stopped Sana’s mom, who was walking by them
“That Sana has a what?” Mamma Bakkoush almost yelled
“Yeah, that Yousef boy. He’s so charming” Amina said pointing at Sana andYousef on the dance floor
“Yousef and Sana aren’t…”
“He introduced himself to us as her boyfriend, isn’t he cute?”Nayat interrupted Sana’s mom
“He did, huh?” she said“Ifyou’ll excuse me I have to tell Sana something before I forget”
 -x-
“I didn’t know you were such a good dancer” Yousef said as the song ended
“We’ve only swayed to the music, it’s not likeit’s that hard”Sana said laughing
“Still, I’m impressed”
“Sana, Yousef hi, I don’t mean to bother but…” Sana’s mom said as she approachedthem making them let go of each other a little startled “Could any of you please explainme why you aunts think you’re dating?”
“Oh…Mom look…”
“It’s my fault Mrs. Bakkoush. They were givingSana a rough time and I stepped in saying that I’m her boyfriend so they’dleave her alone. I’m sorry I lied” Yousef explained
“I guess Amina and Nayat can be a littleoverwhelming sometimes”
“Sometimes? They always ask me when I’m goingto get myself a boyfriend” Sana said exasperated
“I know habibti, you know how they are…I wasjust worried that you two were dating and you hadn’t told me…”
“Oh mom, you know that if I was dating Yousef Iwould tell you”Sana said
“And I would go withher to talk to you” Yousef added
“Not that we are thinking about dating I mean…” Sana saidstuttering
“Yeah, right, we’re not…I mean that’d be…yeah…” Yousef stuttered too
“Aysha, leave the two lovebirds alone” Amina said as they approached them
“Ah, mother-in-laws, always so strict, rightYousef?” Nayatsaid winking at him “I bet you’re already tired of my sister here”
“Oh, no, no, I would never get tired of anyonein this family”Yousef said showing his charming smile once again
“Aw Sana, this boy is so nice, it doesn’tsurprise me that you’ve chosen him” Amina said
Sana blushed and forced a tiny smile
“Yeah, he’s nice…”
“Nice? Oh come on girl, you can do better thanthat, does this boy treat you well? Do we have to reprimand him?” Nayat asked playfully
“Yousef is great” Sana said looking at him “He’s…he’sthe sweetest boy I’ve ever met. He’s smart and funny and kind and…and he evenknows how to cook”
Yousef, who was staring right back at Sanachuckled at that
“He really is perfect” Sana said almost whispering gettinglost in his eyes
Mamma Bakkoush looked from her daughter toYousef with a knowing smile.
“So we can trust you right Yousef? You won’thurt my daughter”she said
“Hurt her? Never” Yousef said still looking at hereyes “Iwould never ever hurt her. She’s the best girl I know. I respect her and I admireher. Every moment I share with her is unique”
“So how long have you been dating then?” Nayat asked
“Huh?” both Yousef and Sana said as they came back toreality.
“How long have you two been dating” she repeated the question
“Six months” Yousef said at the same time Sana answered “5months”
“So 5 or 6 months, then?” Amina asked confused
“Oh I count since we went on our first date andshe counts since we first…uh…held hands” Yousef explained stuttering
“Held hands…right” Nayat said winking at them
“Aunt Nayat!” Sana said blushing
As much as she was enjoying the situation,Mamma Bakkoush decided to intervene.
“Hey, why don’t we leave them alone for amoment, we can go talk to Abdu” Sana’s mom said as she led her sisters away.
Sana and Yousef were left in an awkwardsilence. They were both kind of embarrassed about what they had said. LuckilyElias interrupted the silence as he approached them
“Yousef, I was looking for you, we’re outside, come”
“Uh…” Yousef said looking at Sana
“It’s fine, I’m going to go talk to Jamilla” Sana said with a smile as sheturned around and left
 -x-
Sana wandered around the room looking at herfamily and friends all enjoying the party. She wouldn’t admit it but she wasactually looking for someone, someone who she hadn’t seen since he left withher brother, someone who was entering the room that exact moment and walking toher.
“Hey” Yousef said
“Hi”
“I just wanted to say goodbye, I’m going toleave, it’s getting late”
“Yeah, I actually think we’ll leave soon too”
“I’d offer to walk you home but I guess yourfamily would want to leave together?”
“Yeah…but thanks” Sana said smiling
“Of course” he said nodding
“And Yousef…thanks for before…you know, forsaving me”
“Anything for you girl” he said shrugging with a smile
Sana bit her lip as she took a step closer tohim and kissed his cheek.
“What was that for?” he asked shocked
“Uh…my aunts, they’re behind you and they werelooking so I just thought…yeah…” Sana said stuttering
“Oh I see…” Yousef said as something caught his attentionbehind Sana, not something, someone, her aunts to be more specific.
They werestanding behind Sana so there was no way she could’ve seen them. Yousef smiledto himself as he leaned closer to Sana and pressed his lips softly against hercheek.
“In case they’re still looking” he whispered before pulling apart
Sanajust looked at him blushing too surprised to react.
“Goodnight fake girlfriend” he said winking at her
“Goodnight fake boyfriend” she said back with a big smile.
