I did a fun thing where I did some fun ectobiology to see what fusions of some trolls would look like.

From left to right, top to bottom, we have:

Evilon and Ixesha

Evilon and Jimdot

Chlyde and Atlans

Evilon and Atlans

And then at the bottom bottom, a fully designed 'grown up' version of Ev and Jimdot's (who belongs to @kivovistrolls ) ecto baby. Her name is Terjes :)

ectobabies were born with full heads of hair. like long full hair. that doesnt happen (very often) to womb babies??

look at jade, or roxy or dirk!! long hair.

I like to think that Nepeta and Equius grew up together in one of the carapaces colonies as second generation ectobabies.

I don't like the whole "Didnt want to have an ectobaby because i wanted it to feel different" but I wonder if like, Jade doesnt feel human because she is an ectokid or like, doesnt view the ecto-humans of Earth C as worth something because they're just like a copy of herself and her friends made in a lab without any care or thought besides "repopulating the Earth"

so what i wanna do for my swap au has to do with not. fundamentally changing the characters personalities. literally just changing the basis of their living situations.

like. for example. what would...lets say, dad egbert be like if he had prolonged exposure to big cal. how would john grow up in an apartment complex rather than in a traditional suburb.

im trying to frame it in such a way where it isnt just homestuck again but the characters are in different colors, but a lot of it has to do with the more nebulous concept of "what if their meteors/ectobiology fucked up and became an entire universal offshoot". something that theoretically has all the components for an alpha timeline but is fundamentally broken bc the player characters got uploaded into the wrong files.

right now im mostly torn on the status of guardians. what im working with right now is basically a Dave=John and viceversa with Jade=Rose BUT im thinking of keeping their godtiers the same like i did w the trolls, like i said i mostly want to just change their life circumstances and how that would affect them.

i am. very torn on iff the presents the babies get stay the same or change. or if the guardians swap ages.

like, itd be funny as hell if nanna was this fucked up old lady raising her grandson to beat ass so that he can one day kill the batterwitch, but thatd basically take dad egbert out of the picture.

the other idea i have is that bro becomes Gramps Egbert. and is this fucked up old war vet. debating on if he raises his grandson or if he SOMEHOW sired a child to raise his ectobaby for him when he dies, banking on sburb to eventually revive him as a sprite.

now that i say all that im definitely leaning towards that.

so this would make mom lalonde into Nannie Harley.

and....nanna egbert into...Ma Strider.
