"no, you didn't just call me 'love' you said 'my love'. that makes a huge difference." Ignis and noct?
Noctis's head was swimming around with so many thoughts that he thought he would drown. The migraine he had carried all day didn't help things. Much less did his posture tamper down the ache as he was sitting slouched forward on a stool near the kitchen island of his apartment with his head laying against the countertop.
Occasionally, Noctis's gaze would follow Ignis as he went about cooking dinner. Tonight was fresh poultry from Insomnia's upper district, along with some imported fruits from Tenebrae. He could smell the seasonings Ignis doused the meat in, and he felt his stomach rumble at the prospects of having a decent meal instead of instant noodles which had become an addiction so bad it would put Gladio to shame.
There was a lot that went through his mind. Assignments long past due, people at school still treating him different because he was royalty, and of course there was a fine helping of guilt as he continued to observe Ignis.
"Can I ask you something?" Noctis near grumbled under his breath as he raised his head from the countertop.
"If it's cheating on your writing assignment, the answer remains a solid no." Ignis said as a matter of fact as he closed the fridge door.
"You're no fun," Noctis playfully mocked. He sighed and propped his chin under his arm. "Why did you call me that earlier?"
"Hm?"
"The love thing."
Ignis shrugged. "I called you love as a term of endearment like I do for everyone else back at the palace."
"No," Noctis shook his head. "You didn't just call me 'love', you said 'my love'. That makes a huge difference."
Ignis didn't reply and kept going through the motions to get dinner ready. Noctis glared all the while, feeling a strange tension start in his throat and working its way down to his stomach. He didn't like it when people weren't direct with him. He especially hated it when his father, the great king himself performed such tactics to avoid a serious conversation he was in no mood to entertain.
Right at the precipice before Noctis was about to explode, did Ignis clear his throat as he began to sauté the meat.
"Let me put it this way," Ignis began. "We've known each other for quite some time, and the simple term of 'love' doesn't quite extend the warmth I want to convey."
"Warmth?" Noctis muttered.
"Correct," Ignis gave a nod and turned the heat down on the meat. "You're not simply my master and I your servant in the same vein as you're not my son and I am not your secondary parent. We're beyond these two points as far as I'm concerned. In addition, by no means are we friends."
"So what does that make us then?" Noctis felt himself getting more confused by the second. He closed his eyes for a short moment only to flinch and open them back up as Ignis gently placed down dinner in front of him.
"I'd like to think of us as brothers, and in my family, we affectionately referred to one another as 'my love' in that case."
Noctis looked between the meal and Ignis, unsure of what to say as he could feel the weight of Ignis's words. He was happy the silence didn't linger too long as Ignis spoke again.
"If it offends his majesty, perhaps I can--"
"No," Noctis interrupted. He shook his head and leaned up further in his seat. "It doesn't offend me, I just--"
He really didn't know what to say, and made a fist when he thought back to his earlier outburst. Ignis didn't deserve the flighty tantrum of a brooding teenager, yet Noctis knew he gave him a taste and then some. However, unlike his father, Ignis stuck around even amidst the chaos.
Ignis wasn't his father. He wasn't Regis.
When Noctis really thought it through, he realized neither man deserved the cold shoulder he had been freely giving to them both.
His eyes began to brim with tears.
"Noct?"
"I don't deserve that." Noctis admitted bitterly. "It's something special, and I'm not--"
"Oh Noct," Ignis sighed. He shook his head and approached Noctis and gave him a pat on the shoulder before he was soon embraced with a warm hug. He smiled as Noctis finally released the sadness that had been building up within himself, and comforted him while he cried.

I know this is completely different then what I normally post but I've been getting in the game and I need suggestions
Noctis x prompto x Ignis x Gladiolus
Prompto, ignis, and Gladiolus end up having more free time and going out on small dates while noctis is busy to the point they start making memories and inside jokes without noctis which makes noctis feeling neglected and pushed to the side.
He was pointing at the moon but I was looking at his hand. He was dead anyway, a ghost. I'm surprised I saw his hand at all.
Ignis would know Noct’s hands anywhere. Delicate and sword-calloused, wrapped in the soft leather of his gloves. If he thinks about it hard enough, he can still feel them, warm and tender as they hold onto his.
He would know Noctis’ smile too, infectious as ever as he looks up at the stars and the too-large moon, breathtaking in their beauty. Noctis’ beauty is even more breathtaking, he thinks, as he wonders what would happen if he caught that hand in his own. Would it still be warm? Or would it be grave-cold, as untouchable as smoke?
He doesn’t try. He doesn’t want to disturb this illusion that they’re both safe and happy, looking at the stars together the way they had as children, sneaking out to the rooftop away from their guardians. Those had always been his favorite moments, and he keeps them tucked away in his memories, preserved in glass, untouchable as Noctis is now.
“Hey, Iggy?”
Ignis forces down the grief that threatens to shatter this fragile moment. “Yes, Noct?”
“I always loved it up here with you. At the end, this is what I was dreaming about. Just you and me and the stars.”
Ignis doesn’t say a word, just looks back up at the stars, alone on the rooftop.
Just saw a post that said: "ShiPPing IgNis and NocTis Bad BecAuse ThEy cAll EacH othEr as BrotheRs so InceSt" from the wiki: Ignis was raised alongside Prince Noctis to be adviser to the heir apparent. An intensive education instilled in him the resourcefulness and composure required for the role, his tactical acumen proving invaluable over the course of the prince's journey.
Yeah they are just childhood friends... Damn can't ship bromance nowadays
A chocobro/chocobro (which ever two you want) love confessions how ever you want to write it
Coming up!
Noctis couldn't wait to tear off his boots at the end of the day. Once the boys had set up camp, and the fire had roared to life, he did just that.
Words couldn't express the relief his feet felt not being confined to damp socks anymore. He sighed contently, closing his eyes while the cool crisp air in Duscae contrasted with the smoky aroma that was whiffing away in the distance. That's when Noctis opened his eyes and his gaze traveled to the source.
A thoughtful look crossed Noctis's features while he observed Ignis cooking. Noctis always thought Ignis to be rather meticulous. A little too organized for his liking. Spontaneity was the furthest word Noctis would assign to his longtime friend. Nonetheless, there was a spirit within Ignis that came out when he prepared a warm meal. Noctis could see it. That glimmer of light in Ignis's eyes that dare say rivaled that of the campfire not more than a few feet from him.
Noctis felt a twinge of envy and adoration. He loved fishing, and considered it the best hobby anyone could get into, but to have the passion Ignis had for cooking, was something Noctis doubted he'd ever find. Not even in the sport he had loved since youth. There was also another emotion Noctis felt. The power of it was so strong, that it scared him. The last time he had felt anything like this, was before the tragic accident. Before she died, protecting him.
There was a solid peace that radiated off of Ignis as he smiled. Occasionally he'd look up to see what sort of mischief Gladio and Prompto were up to at the campsite, and like clockwork, he'd roll his eyes and stifle a laugh before continuing with his craft. Noctis's bottom lip trembled as his last memories of her played out.
Ignis was the closest person Noctis had to having a mother again. Someone who was nurturing and always there. Even when his father had to deal with the world and its woes, there was always someone waiting for him at home. It was always Iggy, through the good times and bad. It dawned on Noctis just how much of Ignis's presence he had taken for granted.
Noctis made a fist, and then got up. He didn't mind how his feet were bitten by the small rocks against his soles, nor did he pay any heed to the commotion Prompto stirred up with Gladio. His arms extended outward the closer he got to Ignis, until he had wrapped both his arms around him from behind.
Ignis let out a startled gasp. His eyes widening before he registered the familiar touch.
"Um, Noct?"
The embrace tightened, and Noctis pressed his head to Ignis's back. He was afraid to let go. He was afraid he'd see her bloody face near the car wreck.
"Are you alright?" Ignis murmured, trying to keep his voice low so that he didn't draw too much attention to the situation.
"You don't understand how much I--"
"It's okay," Ignis remained calm and still. "What's going through your head?"
"I miss her, Iggy," Noctis swallowed back a sob, then unleashed the words he had trouble conveying. "I wish she was here, but you have no idea how much I---I love you for staying. For not dying and leaving me behind."
Ignis's face grew warm. His body tensed under Noctis's touch while he pondered on the words that had been gifted to him.
Despite being friends for years, and the future adviser to the king, Ignis never truly knew where he stood with Noctis. Their friendship wasn't made over normal bonds, but out of duty and sacrifice. To hear that he, Ignis himself had been placed on a mantle that was on par with the kings love and Noctis's love for his late mother, had Ignis bite down on his bottom lip. He could feel himself getting emotional, just knowing how much he meant to Noctis.
"Thank you, Noct." Ignis softly said. A small tear trickled down his face before he wiped it away, turned around and embraced his friend with an even tighter hug.
