It’s not only the blade that they have to worry about either — there also needs to be time to dodge the steel ring that forms part of the design.

A shuriken is a Japanese weapon or projectile consisting of a plate shaped like a cross with one sharp edge and several blunt edges that serves as its hinges, traditionally made from paper but now often also from metal. The word “shuriken” means “to twist or rip”.

Nunchucks are not weapons. Neither are they a type of stick or lacrosse, nor are they a type of club. Nope — these are actually old martial arts training tools that date back to the 16th century in Okinawa Japan and served as primary hand defenses in indigenous traditions.

Nunchucks are specific types of martial arts weapons made from traditionally a length of wood with metal reinforcing rings. The weapon is traditionally paired with a length of chain, but can also be paired with a rope as well. They are primarily used in the art of Kyu Karate.
