𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐫𝐮𝐧 (𝐫𝐞𝐪)

pairing: ningguang x chaoticgood!reader

scenario: you consider yourself a night person. you did not consider, however, how many snacks were aboard the jade chamber.

request: hii!! I love your writing so much it makes me feel hhhh 💞💞💞 soft 🥺🥺 can I please request Ningguang with a night person s/o who likes to sneak onto the Jade Chamber and invite her out to eat in the ungodly hours of the night? Thankss!

genre: reader being chaotic and ningguang being all “you’re an idiot but you’re my idiot” + reader has anemo vision

you woke up with one thought in mind

snacks

food

so now here you were, standing on the cliffs behind liyue, trying to figure out a way onto the jade chamber

you’ve done it before, but it seems your usual route wouldn’t be adequate tonight

you partially guessed it was because ningguang wanted to give you a challenge

so instead of simply using your anemo abilities to make the wind carry you softly to her balcony

you hijacked the plaustrite platform that is used by almost everyone to get to the chamber

the usual guards weren’t there, and ningguang won’t get mad at you for it, right?

once aboard, you try your best to not make noise opening the door

seriously, who made this thing so heavy?

after trying (and failing) to get the door open, you decide there is only one option

crab walk your way to ningguang’s balcony

there is a slight border that surrounds most of the building

so if you’re really careful and use your tiptoes, you should be able to get there without falling to your doom

and even if you were to fall, anemo vision, duh

you’d be fine

it would be fine

so you slowly scale the side of the building

you managed to only slip once, by misplacing your foot

maybe a storm of curses were let out, no ones gonna know

after maybe 20 minutes, you find yourself finally at your girlfriend’s door

“ningguang!” you whisper-scream

she looks lovely when she’s sleeping but snacks are your main priority right now

“ningguang!”

“ningguan-” her hand reaches out to cover your mouth

she quickly sits up and turns to face you

“and what brings you all the way up here in the middle of the night?”

you laugh as you head to sit next to her

“same thing as usual, of course!”

“y/n, you’ve got to be quiet, the guards won’t react well to knowing someone slipped past them..”

holding back yet another laugh, you continue

“anyway, want to go get snacks?”

she gives a tired smile, “sure thing, but i’m not sure xiangling’s father will react well to us dropping by...at three in the morning...again.”

you lead her out to the balcony and sit on the edge, feet dangling over liyue

“well, no harm in just going down to look, right? i hear there’s a new 24/7 snack bar?”

she laughs as you use your vision to blow wind through her hair

“oh, fine, but don’t drop me this time!”

“i would never.”

you let yourself fall off the edge, using the wind to catch you

“c’mon, i’ll catch you!” you hold out your arms to ningguang, who is warily looking over the edge at you, floating in midair

you know she isn’t too familiar with anemo, being a geo vision holder herself, but you try your best to make her feel comfortable

she decides to do a run and jump, letting out a yelp of surprise as she finds herself falling for a split second

you catch her in your arms, and she grips your arm tightly

“you’re not gonna fall, relax!” you say as you both land safely on the ground

as you approach wanmin restaurant you notice that..it is closed

but there are two bowls and a note on the table next to the door

i noticed you two kept coming here late so i made you some grilled tiger fish! enjoy! - xiangling

“oh, how sweet of her,” ningguang says

mom friend much (im sorry ningguang ily)

you two sit and eat, talking about your day (or night)

she tells you how her personal attendants have heard rumors about your relationship and have been asking her nonstop if she’s dating anyone

“and what did you say? i know you wanted to keep it a secret just because of your position, and-”

“oh, i told them.”

you’re surprised to say the least

“i’m sure you’re tired of having to sneak into my room every night, so it’d be easier for both of us this way.”

you both smile with relief

because honestly scaling the jade chamber is something you

a) would not do again

b) can brag that you’ve done

c) all of the above

bing bing bing the answer is c

she does enjoy the late night visits

even if it always ends with both of you overstuffed on food

just spending time with you is enough for her <3

a/n 2: i really liked this one, just reader being able to fluster ningguang (altho it didn’t happen here) is top tier dkjdhfgndjdhdf 💞 also i might add hu tao to my masterlist in honor of her banner :D and a venti fic may be in the works to celebrate his possible rerun? im not sure if its confirmed yet but if it does happen i WILL be rolling for him and i will be hoping he comes home for everyone who wants him <3 thx for reading :)
