Her eyes fluttered shut as his lips brushed against hers in a chaste kiss. She had been waiting for what felt like an eternity for this moment and she wasn't about to let it slip through her fingers with such reserved actions. "Is that all you've got?" She drawled, looking up at him through her lashes. Her fingers clasped the lapels of his jacket and pulled him closer, sealing their lips together in a heated and hungry kiss. SIlvy paused her reading so she could take a sip of her beer, a faint smile on her face. There always had been something about so-called trashy romance novels that tickled a part of her brain, no matter what the pairings featured in the novels. She was particularly enjoying this one that she had found deep in the archives of Redwood's library.

She happened to look up at the bar's entrance when Nicki entered. Silvy swiftly put her bookmark in-between the pages to save her place and put the book face down on the bar. For good measure, she put her arm over it. She wasn't ashamed per say to be reading such a book but she was unsure how Nicki might react.

"Good evening," she said as Nicki approached. "How's it going?"

i’ve noticed your opinions on nicki minaj have changed… why?

because she was done wrong. simple. i still feel like there are things she’s said that i don’t like. period. (“you’re just jealous” when defending jesy) we’re two different people. but my temporary distaste for her came from a very real agenda that was pushed bc she has the top spot and the higher ups wanted $$$. nicki has always been an inspiration to me especially from a fashion and beauty position. for a while the pinkprint was my soundtrack to life. she’s funny, personable (which is rare), original and has always given credit to her inspirations (even when sources would try to convince you that’s not true). she’s a human. and when constantly being degraded for nothing but people wanting more $ eventually you’re gonna become less sweet and nice and more aggressive and cold. it’s natural. and her branding y’all… very much so barbie from the block. i’m attracted to people that can relate to aesthetically. part of the reason why i love janet, toni b, kimora, mariah, meagan good, etc. i’m very much so a barb.

Jock had done it! He had made it to the Community Centre in one piece and without any panic attacks. Sure, his chest still felt tight with nerves and his eyes were darting about the place as if he was expecting some kind of attack from any direction at any moment but he had made it. Jock: 1, agoraphobia: 0.

Now all he had to do was mingle and make some friends. That was the point of his visit today. This was something he had learned while living on the Hyland farm. He would have an easier time settling in if he got to know more of the people he was sharing this space with. If he got to know the people and their habits, the less variables there would be for his agoraphobia to exploit.

Despite knowing this, it was still all too easy to let panic take control. He reverted to his usual tactic of going to a far corner and wedging himself in there in order to feel safe and he was going to stay there until he noticed a certain somebody sitting at the bar. A grin cracked across his face. Of all the bars in all of the world and all that!

So he scurried out of the far corner and headed right for the bar. He took a seat next to Nicki and cleared his throat to get her attention.

"D'ya miss me?" He asked. That was usually her line, the same one she used whenever she dropped by Hyland Farm and saw him. His response was normally 'like a hole in the head', which he had always meant in an affectionate way. Truth was he had always missed her but until now, he had thought he'd never see her again.

There was something familiar in being out on the outside of the walls, something Ember hasn't realized until she went to get some mushrooms (that man and his mushrooms, she had to shake her head anytime she thought of it, in an affectionate way).

It was something she didn't miss per se, no, but something she felt comfortable in. Something she didn't think was possible after the doors of Redwood closed behind her back for the first time. And now she's been out for the second time in a short amount of time, and she didn't mind. Things changed quickly.

"So you've known my dad before you got here, right? You didn't arrive here with him," she asked, curious, while she always kept looking around, making sure nothing came at them. "Have you immediately jumped into being a raider?"
