my lost himawari, i don’t mean the art, just how out of character it is, i hardly enjoy anything that is compliant with boruto but the way the author clearly tries to water down how dysfunctional ss and nh are, make sakura and hinata look like poor victims and act accepting of naruto and sasuke’s relationship is so 🥴 looks like they don’t mind ss and nh but wrote a sns story, and that is always at the cost of naruto and sasuke’s characters. i also don’t think naruto and sasuke would take so long to sort things out in their relationship. idk, i never got why so many people like this story.

I'm thinking of making a ko-fi account for the NaruHina NSFW that I want to start pumping out on the reg. I'll try to do one new art a week. 🧡💜

Of course, I'm still trying to update whichever fics currently have my attention and whatever commissions my SO has given me at the mo' (and I have to try to fit in time for art self-studies and lastly original stuff too. 😵) But once a week is still the desired plan! It's a collection of short stories from a bunch of doujinshi artists focusing on the theme of what Hinata would get for Naruto for his birthday? (Happy Present 1 is all about Naruto gifting Hinata a present but it's sold out) It's a simple prompt, but each artist comes up with really touching and creative ways to tell their short story. Very wholesome and sweet! And you get a lot of content for your yen~!

like it's kind of a moot point because for most of them searching the title brings up a full page of (much sketchier than nh) pirate sites and nothing legit, even if it has an official translation, but

I see a lot of people say that SS harass the writers of Boruto? Is this in the Japanese or western fandom? I can't imagine foreigners having much sway with the writers, but I also thought that the Japanese fans hated Sakura so why would they be happy to see SS. Are the SS and NH fans actually just as bad in Japan?

I heard a lot that Naruto is a popular Manga/Anime in the International Circuit whereas inside Japan it was always One Piece. One piece is more popular in Japan than Naruto.

Even among Japanese fans... Among female fans, SNS is the craaaazy popular ship. Whereas SS was almost dead by the last end of 3 years. It seems Taiwan, Japan, China used to conduct many Naruto events and SNS used to have more stalls to sell their Doujins whereas with NS, SS had just 1 or 2. 

I agree after Chapter 700, SS got picked up in Japan which is evident from the number of fanarts soaring to 20,000+ in Pixiv whereas SNS is scampering around 4000+.

But only in western spaces... AKA ***Naruto Forums*** before the completion of Manga, there is this existence called Big 3 -- Eye roll --. And those Big 3 ships consisted of NH, SS and NS. But not SNS.

Now tell me, which fandom influenced Studio Pierrot and Shonen Jump to go for a sequel with popular Couples from western circuits??

Western Fandom that persistently apologize for Sakura under the name of SS and NS or Japanese fandom that hates Sakura??

And that Sekibeing, Boruto animator was once harassed by SS creeps who are from western fandom (in Twitter) because that guy drew a NaruHina fanart.

So, if you ever hear the news about SS harassing Fanartists/Animators/Writers, just know that they are from here... Not from Japan. It seems Overseas fans has a big sway in influencing Boruto Franchise.

To be honest, I see quite a few complaint posts from other fandoms about how fanfiction doesn't get enough reblogs/acknowledgement/sharing/appreciation, compared to fanart, gifs, headcanons, memes, meta...and I don't know if my own view is skewed because of the asks I receive, but the NaruHina fandom seems to be a lot healthier in this respect??? I personally feel like we share fanfiction and appreciation for fanfiction more than other fandoms. Maybe it's a do-if-yourself-if-you-want-to-see-it mentality, but writers and readers seem to be more vocal for each other ever since.........the pandemic started... in this NaruHina neighborhood.

Anyway, let's please continue to share fanfiction love with each other :D

I've seriously considered it, like making a separate blog especially for fanfic recs and lost & found, and then inviting you folks to also run it (kind of like those event blogs? that have co-moderators), teamwork makes the dream work!!, but I think I'm not up to the responsibility of having a quality second blog and setting up an organized system for answering 😥, or not up to the responsibility of being the "founder" of a blog like that. I'm too detail-oriented, I'd pressure myself needlessly about it. Plus, I'd still rather write...and writing already takes me a long time. but "NaruHina Fanfic Detective Agency" would be adorable 🥺

Could you recommend any NH fics set post-War that follow the Last storyline? Could be one-shot or multichap, it's all good with me. Asking because I see a lot of post-War NH but not too much involving the movie (the only ones I've seen are petran's and water roll's stories, and I wonder if I've missed out on any)? Involving the movie? Judging by the stories that you mentioned, I’m guessing you mean stories set during or after the movie that somewhat acknowledge its events (since many post-war fics are generally canon divergent). Hmm, if so, I’m not sure if I help you too much (I mean, the fics that you have already mentioned are pretty good already). With that said, here are a few stories that come to mind: 

secret lovers, which is set before and during The Last, and star vessel, which is set after, both by @quirrrky​. Both are great reads, ‘secret lovers’ is one of those fics that I have re-read more than twice. 

Facing the Sun by Happy_Ocelot. It goes from the Infinite Tsukuyomi and goes over the events of the Last. Like ‘secret lovers,’ it fills in the blanks and develops the relationship between Naruto and Hinata between the war and the movie. 

Good Morning, Sunshine by Saku015. Very short, very fluffy. Set the morning after the Last

With You in the Future by Satomi , translated by TL Anon. This is technically a doujin, but it’s really great, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve seen this before. Set immediately after the Last.

Unfortunately, that’s all that I can really think of. There are fics that have mention of the movie’s events (if set afterwards), but all of the fics that I can remember for sure at the moment are AU. So no, I don’t think you’re really missing out. 

I do have a fic myself, A Trail of Notes, where chapter 24 is set during the movie and acts as a sort of behind the scenes thing, but the problem is that I haven’t finish it yet (chapter 23 does lead into it, though you’d probably need context from the rest of the fic). Have a look if you have nothing else to read.

Wait so do the Western fandom tendency to write meta on ships coming from how they take their self fulfillment too seriously? As I notice how the Western fandoms tend to put great care on how "what they ship is their morality" mentality (aka to appear woke and activist-esque). Also I notice that many Western fans tend to over-analyze their fav minor characters (and their ships) too much, to the point that when I'm reading I was like "wait I don't remember there is this and that implication like how the meta suggests in the canon material"

Yes. I remember NH saying Naruto didn’t show interest in hinata because he didn’t know she’s an option, or he’s in love with hinata he just didn’t know it yet. Meta is just their headcanons in disguise, it’s just them making shits up and convincing themselves their ships are real.

When Japanese do their headcanons, they draw short strips and doujin, and they often tag them 妄想. They have more reverence for canon, and they don’t pretend they know what the mangaka thinks and his intent. They don’t go out there to convince the rest of the fandom with “meta”.

Attacking ships as problematic is an old tactic in shipping war, but more people are doing it not because they ship rival ships, they’re just complaining for the sake of appearing to be woke and morally superior.

Yeah, they also meta on minor characters, and minor details in character interaction way too much. I think they try way too hard to sound smart, but are also way too lazy to actually to do the work. So they over analyze small and unimportant stuff, because there’s less materials to take into consideration. You don’t see analysis on pacing, themes and the fights for a certain arc anymore. People analyze three panels they consider to be some sort of parallels.... it’s everywhere, people in mdzs/mxtx fandom meta on honorifics and some phrase that sounds really mundane in chinese, they google translate it, then either try to make it sound more significant than it is or they pick on the translation and act like they know the language. But this is mostly a tumblr/twitter thing. I remember a jojo youtuber did a video on what’s a requiem stand and he re-read the whole part 5 for it. He got it wrong, but he did his homework,and the topic is something that worth a video.

hmm ok, to answer your question: out of the characters, I would very much like to befriend either nie huaisang or lan sizhui :’D they seem chill and I would love to talk about art with nhs and the world with lsz ^^ tho I can feel you with the ladies! they are amazing and deserve so much more appreciation! I just feel like I would be too intimidated by all of them and their beauty :’D from the cast members I would choose wang zhuocheng! he’s such a sweet guy and seems fun to be around :’D I feel like we could just do silly stuff together, build legos, talk about harry potter, and eat good food XD I think I also know the most about him (if we don’t count xiao zhan and yibo) bc I adore his doujin updates and all of his photos and listening to him sing :’) he is just so bright? and has an amazing voice!

and then the bonus one: I’ve actually watched xiao zhan in other stuff quite a lot! after I finished the untamed and got into all the actors more, I watched joy of life, jade dynasty and part of battle through the heavens/fights break sphere (I got into this bc of xz and kinda lost interest when his character left...)! I’ve enjoyed all of his roles and am excited to watch the wolf at some point and see what douluo continent is about once it comes out ^^ for yibo, I’ve only watched day day up and street dance of china bc I love seeing him as himself :’D tho am excited to watch legend of fei too! and I really want to watch legend of two sisters in the chaos with wang zhuocheng and meng ziyi ^^ I just currently have a huge list of dramas to watch bc I’ve gotten interested in several actors this year and want to just see all of their work :’D and I’m kinda picky with dramas too tbh, not really into the most cliche romance stories so I end up throwing some dramas aside quite quickly ^^’ related to this I’d like to ask you, have you watched guardian by any chance?
