My OCs + can they be trusted with your drink at a party?
Nick Satel— 9/10
Her family has hosted a lot of parties and social events over the years so she knows the priority of protecting your drink. Will put a hand over the top and keep vigilant of anyone who might try to mess with your drink. Depending on how much is left in it she might even refill it for you.
Amy Morrison— 10/10
Her family has also had many parties so she also knows the importance of it. Glares at anyone who looks like they’re coming over to mess with your drink. Definitely will threaten them too.
Eric Sedal— 6/10
Agrees to protect your drink and does so for first 2 minutes until he gets distracted in a conversation. Forgets he’s supposed to be protecting your drink until he looks down and remembers the drink is in his hand. He’ll get you a new one just in case though.
Gemma Newwood— 10/10
Very attentive and covers it with a napkin before putting her hand over the napkin. Watches for you as well and waits for you. Offers to get you another if you don’t have much left.
Mitchell Dunhill— 3/10
Super nervous being given the responsibility of protecting your drink. Accidentally spills it while waiting for you and goes to get napkins to clean it up. He doesn’t even have time to get you a new one by the time you get back. He’s super sorry though.
Marina Fulgum— 6/10
Protects your drink until she remembers it’s a party and decides to take a sip from it. That sip ends with her drinking the whole thing and maybe even the refill she got you. Makes sure there’s something in the cup when you get back though.
Stella Takashi— 5/10
Also takes it very seriously. A little too seriously. Attempts to enchant the cup so only you can add to it but messes up and now it’s cursed and the drink tries to attack you if you drink from it. They’re very sorry
Sucre Fairnight— 7/10
He does such a good job at protecting your drink. But they might sip from it to see what you’re drinking. Only a few sips though. He prefers to steal from Synphal’s drink. Hands it back to you a little less full but it’s protected!
Synphal Michaud— 5/10
Focuses on protecting your drink and hisses at people who might put something in it. The guarding goes well until she sees Sucre doing something stupid. Then she sets it down and runs off to stop him.
Nathan O’Mahony— 1/10
Drinks your cup as soon as they get bored of waiting for you. Absolutely judges you for your drink of choice but goes and gets more of it to drink. Good luck finding him because you can’t. Guess you need to get a drink.
Yvonne Satel— 0/10
Can and will poison it because she likes to cause problems on purpose. Do not trust her.
Steven Satel— 0/10
Will also poison your drink. But with a toxin that will immobilize you and let him strike when you’re alone and vulnerable. Also don’t trust him.
Etho Sarlee— 9/10
Protects it with his life but is also terrified to move from his spot. Stays in place frozen as a stone. You find him clutching the cup but he assures you no one was able to mess with it.
Archie Azure— 10/10
Has a literal short sword to threaten people with if they try to mess with your drink. Can definitely identify the drink by the smell. When you come back he’ll hand it to you and give you suggestions of other drinks you might like based on that one preference.

Time for a new table anyone? These sizable Sequoia slabs are approx 7' long x 4' wide, so could make a stunning centerpiece for the right environment. Cryomancers never left Joderheim...
Unofficial excerpt from my Portal Guardians WIP, I own all characters and the storyline
Gemma and Stella gawked at the sight, their mouths hung open slightly. The air got cold as the Magicians walked past them, breath of the newly graduated Guardians was visible along with the warm breath of the guards escorting the visitors. No one had ever seen a Cryomancer in person—they were practically myths come true. Gemma noticed the ice that sat on the dark, leather shoulder pads and the small icicles that hung off the fur cloak.
The woman who stood at the front of the group was old, wrinkles along her face but still gorgeous and beautiful. Her eyes were an icy gray and her lips a soft blue against her pale skin. Her gray hair was white at the roots, delicate curls falling alongside her face. She held a wooden staff in her left hand, it was decorated with diamonds and sapphires, carved neatly to give it the appearance of ice. It thunked on the ground as she walked.
Behind her were two men, one very tall, appearing to be half Ogre by the greenish tint to his skin and the hooked nose. His black hair was long and braided, and his crimson eyes made contact with Stella and Gemma for a moment before looking ahead. He had a unique jacket, a combination of fur and dragon’s skin. Stella couldn’t take her eyes off his sidearms, the long silver blade with its brown leather hilt that his hand rested on.
The other man had dark brown skin and intense brown eyes, hair shaved on the sides as it faded to longer, curly hair. Gemma could only describe the man as breathtaking. But what drew their attention was his right arm, that was from the middle of his bicep down, and instead was a prosthetic made of ice. He flexed his frozen fingers lightly, the cracking of ice filling the near silent corridor.
The bronze armored guards escorted the Cryomancers into the chamber where the Council of Magicians resided. As the doors swung closed behind them, the cold air disappeared and the two were left with a subtle chill and goosebumps on their arms. Gemma and Stella looked at each other for a moment before they ran down the corridor towards the main foyer. As they ran in, Nick, Moon, and Mitchell were waiting for them.
“So how much trouble are we in?” Moon asked as he leaned against a marble column.
“And why are you two out of breath?” Nick asked.
Gemma leaned forward, hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath. “We’ll—we’ll tell you later.”
“Cryo–Cryomancers! They’re here! In Terraheim!” Stella exclaimed, bouncing on her heels.
The three blinked that statement.
“Are you sure?” Moon asked, pushing off the column.
“Absolutely, they were all cool—pun intended—and were wearing fur and leather and the air got cold as they walked by and one of them had an arm made of ice!” Gemma rambled, tugging on Mitchell’s shirt sleeve. “We gotta go see what they’re talking about!”
“I’d never pass up a chance to see this,” Mitchell said, allowing Gemma to pull on his sleeve drag him in the direction of the chambers. The rest follow behind quickly, hurrying down the quiet corridor.
They finally reached the door to the chambers and Nick pushed open the heavy doors with a grunt. The sound filled the air, and all attention went to them as they stepped into the chambers, interrupting the chieftess as she spoke. The doors slammed shut, and the five stood quiet near a pair of guards. The attention drew away from them and back to councilors, all of whom looked in different stages of agitated.
“Our treatment has been unacceptable and we demand you do something about it,” the chieftess said in a thick German accent. “The Ogres are out of line. We had an agreement about the territory and they have been interfering with our lives.”
“They’ve started hunting our dragons. Our trained Frostmaws that guard the temple,” the dark skinned man said angrily, his voice raised a little. The chieftess put a hand on his shoulder and he relaxed.
“Arthur lost his arm defending one of our Frostmaws. She was nesting and trying to protect her eggs, but the Ogres attacked her. We were lucky Arthur was there, but this must end.” The chieftess glared up at the councilors.
Councilman Yank cleared his throat. “Chieftess Scheid, we can’t just send guards to Joderheim to deal with this situation. And a meeting with the Council of Joderheim would take months to schedule—”
“We are Magicians and we have rights,” Arthur demanded.
“No one is denying that, we are simply saying—” Councilman Becker began.
Chieftess Scheid interrupted. “If you don’t do something we will.”
“We could go,” Nick spoke up. All eyes were on her, and suddenly she felt very small under the gaze of the council and their new guests. She noticed Becker give her a small nod and she stepped closer. “I personally have met with the Joderheim council, a friend of mine is chieftess of the Eastern tribe. And the Ogres might be more persuaded to listen if the Chosen One is making the request.”
“Ms. Satel, you can’t just insert yourself into every political situation in the realms. You don’t have the experience, or the wisdom.” Councilwoman Yung told the young Sorceress.
“With all due respect, Councilwoman, I can. As the Chosen One and wielder of the amulet, it’s my duty to ensure the peace of all realms,” Nick protested. A small grin peaked at the corner of Becker’s lips.
He cleared his throat. “I say we put it to a vote. All those in favor of allowing Ms. Satel and friends to settle the dispute on Joderheim?”
Councilmen Yank, Tower, Tav, and Becker, along with Councilwomen Alba, Nguyen, and Green all raised their hands. Moon started to raise their hand but it was quickly pulled down by Stella who sent the Necromancer a glare.
Becker continued. “And all opposed?”
Councilman Jin and Councilwoman Yung were the only ones to raise their hands.
“Then it’s been decided,” announced Councilman Tav. “Chieftess, you will be accompanied by the Chosen One back to Joderheim. She will help you deal with your situation.”
“Dankeschön,” Chieftess Scheid said in her mother tongue before starting towards Nick and friends. The room began to grow colder the closer the three Cryomancers got, and Nick felt herself shiver when the elder woman stood before her. “You are the chosen one, Edgar Satel’s granddaughter, ja?”
“Ja—I mean, yes, I am ma’am.” Nick replied.
“Hmph.” The chieftess eyed the Sorceress before Arthur pushed the doors open. The group left, and the friends stared at each other for a moment.
“Ms. Satel,” Councilman Tower called. “You have a trip to go on. I suggest you begin packing. Joderheim is cold this time of year.”
“Yes sir,” she nodded, pushing the door open and was blasted by a breeze of cold air. The Guardians hugged themselves as they approached the Cryomancers.
“Field trip! Hell yeah!” Moon cheered.
“Moon, you might need to stay here. Someone has to tell Eric and the others we’re leaving,” Stella said, rubbing her arms.
Moon scoffed. “But these are my people!”
“We are not your people,” Arthur replied coldly. “Your people discriminated against us until we exiled ourselves.”
“Err,” Moon rubbed the back of his neck, “on second thought... I’ll go to the Sanctuary and let everyone know.”
Nick nodded, pulling Moon into a hug. “We’ll be back before you know it.”
“Don’t die, bring me back a souvenir! I’ve never been to Joderheim,” Moon said, holding up a peace sign. A red portal opened behind them, red magic crackling and hissing. Moon waved at their friends and walked backwards into the portal. It closed once he was gone, and the Chieftess looked at the group.
“I hope you have warm clothes prepared. May we be on our way?” She asked.
“Let’s.” Nick nodded, flicking her wrist and a jacket appeared in her hand.

-Junipollo: Yeah, what a real shocker, I’m sure. Yes, I ship this sweet girl and this oblivious dork. I mean, her crush on him is canon, so that helps things, of course, but my god, it’s the sweetest, like...her total hero worship of Apollo but not just liking him because of that but because he actually gave her strength and brought light to her when she needed it most with his smile, and the fact that Junie is one of like 3 people in Apollo’s life who he doesn’t get snarky with or fear for his life (or, in Robin’s case, hearing) around. Like, just the fact that he’s so comfortable around her for the most part and she thinks the world of him...it’s hard not to love it.
-Junithena: GIRLFRIENDS BECAUSE YES. I mean, okay, listen, I can’t get over the friendship and the dynamic between these two like they’re such a good ship? Juniper like...trying to look strong and more independent for Athena when she shows up but just utterly breaking down those walls when Athena rushes to her defense without a second thought, and letting her cute redheaded best friend back into her life and just...I have so many HCs for these two I don’t know where to begin but just....Thena giving her support and standing up for her when she needed it and JUNIE LITERALLY DOING THE EXACT SAME THING ON THE SECOND DAY OF THE TRIAL and getting her friends to do it too I just...they mean so much to me okay?
-Junijusticykes: Yes. I know it’s an OT3 of the last two ships I just listed, but you know what? Screw it. It’s a different ship with a different dynamic between the three of them, so I’m listing it separately anyway, you can’t tell me what to do. But I just love the idea of them as a trio and Apollo and Athena sometimes being chaotic as heckie but Junie being the soft voice of reason and affection no matter how high on the crazy scale things go, even if most of the time the craziness is just utter silliness or teasing. Honestly, I can see Junie being the center of this ship and both of them wanting to lavish her (and in the process, each other, as well) with affection and like just cute things like a group cuddle near a fireplace or watching things together or just...cute domestic shippy things in general okay?
-Newwoods (Juniper/Robin): What can I say? I love these girls and the dynamic between them as well. Robin hiding who she is, but being a totally different person around Juniper once her secret is out. I actually kind of like the idea of her having confided in Juniper or Juniper having known it all along, though, and the game doesn’t really address that much, at least as far as I can recall, so I feel like maybe she did know? But the point is, I love Robin’s total turnaround once she’s revealed to be...well, her, and the way she acts around Junie in particular is precious, and I just feel like they’d be very comfortable to be themselves around each other, just a healthy relationship overall
-Juniper/Myriam: ...I’m suddenly realizing 80% of these ships involve girls being with Junie. Oh well, she’s a cute girl, and this one I can totally see, like...okay just imagine that article that Myriam made not just out of being jealous of their friendship, but also jealousy about two guys (one of which turns out to not be a guy) fighting over just super-cute, super-sweet Junie, and the idea of her envy going that much farther just...I want it, okay? And Juniper being the one to take the initiative to bring Myriam into their group by the end of 5-3 is one of the best things ever, and I really wish we could have seen more about how their friendship evolved, but at least we got to hear a bit about it during the post-credits stuff I suppose. But this is a ship I seriously want to explore because of how much potential there is here.

It's easy to get excited about a big pile of new planks and start thinking about what the wood will go on to become. But processing it can generate a surprising amount of shavings and sawdust - currently in my case around 30-40 sacks a fortnight - that can be a right pain to deal with. Happily one of my suppliers operates a wood drying kiln that's fired with dust and chippings from their own workshop, who've said I can add my fuel to their fire. It makes me wonder how much value there was in 30+ sacks of shavings (supposing I bought most of the wood inside them for £25-£55/ft³), especially since I'm giving it back to the shop I originally bought the timber from. I keep dreaming I'll get a briquette making machine, but at the moment there are a few too many barriers for that solution. What do other people do for a solution to this conundrum? #bowchickawowwow What a really productive day! A new client needed a shed repaired, thats when she called me! I managed to just get this rebuilt as the snow started to fall! Then it was out to #omemee to finish painting trim....This customer has a new tennant moving in today. So I suprised her by also installing over 200 feet of quarter round...She asked but understood how busy I am. So we had the time just for paint this week but instead I worked late.....which was so worth the multiple hugs I got! I love when I get to see how happy an excited a customer can get after a job is complete! My #moving blankets arrived to start using in my moves.
