also got a bit inspired to draw some other new prophecy characters. tawny also has a slight roman nose like her father.

I'm listening to New Prophecy and I have to say: Brackenfur should have been made deputy instead of Brambleclaw. Brambleclaw over-reacts often and is kinda gullible.

Also he seems to be willfully misinterpreting why Squirrelflight is upset with him, which knowing how he treats her in later series, is kinda an early red flag.

Reading Sky got me thinking about my sweet Squirrelflight again and her horrible, horrible marriage, so I redrew this piece I wasn’t happy with in a fun new style I’ve been playing with.

Edited, from the old piece: I really love Squirrelflight, and I think about her heartbreaking dealings with romance all the time. She’s not married to the man she fell in love with, but you can see, especially in her Super Edition, that she aches for a hint of the ambitious young Brambleclaw at the sun-drown place again. For the good parts she remembers, maybe so long ago that she’s twisted them to seem better than they really ever were. That’s why All Too Well fits her so well in my mind, it describes that exact situation. Missing something you can’t and shouldn’t go back to. The lyric goes, “I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to.” It’s been so long since they even slept in the same nest that Squirrelflight finds herself yearning for good times, those sunlit cliffs and vast mountains, even if that journey had its own flaws. She’s looking for something to hold onto. I also like “And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue/Just between us, did the love affair maim you too?” It’s about Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal both being fire signs (double Sagittarius, wow!) but I think that makes sense for Bramble and Squirrel, if warrior cats had zodiac signs. They’re so fiery, and when they fight, it still is. They’re a fire that burned out and she’s trying to keep it alive. ✩

Next up for new prophecy is this lovely lady. Tawnypelt is definitely one of my favorite characters. I kind of wanted to make the spots on her back look kinda like stripes since she's in the ✨Tiger Family™️✨ I think it turned out ok but the next time I draw her I'll probably try something different.
