I realize this was just about HAIR but I’m tipsy and sad so like...here’s this anon. I’m gonna answer this for both my Theronmancers, Chel’a and Nevhra.

Chel’a - redeemed Sith Warrior

it’s actually very funny that he cuts his hair because so does she! Chel’a during the class story kept her hair short because she was a warrior and it was a practical thing, but after Malavai’s betrayal she let it grow long to symbolize how long she survived. So by the time she got to Rishi her hair was at her shoulders and by the time she was the Outlander it was almost between her shoulder blades. One of the first things she does when coming home from Umbara is shear off her hair in the medbay with trauma shears (what medics use to strip clothes off people). So now her hair is almost a pixie cut style.

She’ll see her haircut as an action with strength behind it, because she’s in essence burying a huge, huge part of her past. But Theron is actively throwing it away. So she’ll see it as being hypocritical or just weak in general. As she’s slipping back into her default survival-by-anger mode, the change in his looks, to look like a dumbass edgelord, is definitely going to be seen as foolish and indicate, at least to her, that he isn’t who he said he was all those years ago. Maybe he’s been her enemy this whole time and she was blinded by his good looks and good hairstyle. Who knows how much of their relationship was a lie? How long was he playing this game? After all, they say that the best way to corrupt a jedi is to fuck the righteousness out of him, so is the best way to ruin a sith? To love her? Who knows. We’ll see how Copero goes.

Nevhra - Imperial Agent Defector

To find out that Theron is working with the Chiss is going to be a hot knife. Nevhra (and his twin sister, Nehera) were raised outside of the Ascendancy because their parents were diehard imperials who didn’t believe in the Ascendancy’s expansionist policy. His parents were also criminals but that’s moot now, they’re long dead. Add to that the fact that the Chiss are typically Imperial-aligned would also hurt, since Nev escaped prison and Imperial Intelligence to defect to the Republic. When he made it to safety he met and fell in love with this wonderful SIS agent, this golden boy who was everything the Empire could never be.

but his hair...oh his hair. It was so soft and Nev loved to run his finger through it. That stupid faux hawk that Theron didn’t even get rid of when he was in carbonite was so damn symbolic. Nev is crushed in more ways than one, but the HAIR doesn’t HELP.

The Dysfunctional Chiss Wondertwins

Nehera and Nevhra are fraternal twins, a rarity for their species. Though born on Hoth, the twins were raised apart from the Ascendancy as their parents were spacefarers whose work took them off planet frequently. However, when the twins reached their teen years they suffered the loss of their parents and were forced to become self sufficient. They became low level outlaws, unable to find legitimate work that didn’t come with the threat of being forcibly returned to the Ascendancy on Hoth. They managed to stay free agents until they were seventeen, when Nehera, who thought she was helping, began to set up spice deals within the networks of minor Hutts. However, a good number of these deals went sour and as the Empire was trying to ally with the Hutts, they set their agents upon the rouge Chiss. When they were captured, the twins were split up and sent to different holding facilities.

Nehera was released from custody after a year, since it was apparent that she was of no major concern to the stability of the Hutt Clan’s trade empire. Following her release, she quickly returned to her life as a renegade, only this time with a renewed taste for chaos. As she figured returning to the spice trade would be deadly, she began work as a bounty hunter. Her career as a headhunter was wildly successful and included becoming the champion of the Great Hunt and a naturalized Mandalorian. Her prowess was such that she was contracted out to perform Blacklist hits on high value targets, including some Republic leaders.

Nevhra, however, escaped from Imperial custody and went on the run for six months before being recaptured. He was then included in a lineup of prisoners used for a Sith trial, wherein his “value” was judged. The acolyte spared him and had him remanded to Imperial Intelligence. Nevhra’s career was markedly less successful than his sister’s. Through his work for the Empire he became known as Cipher Seven, a covert field operative. On one of his missions, he was instrumental in ending the reign of a Dark Council member, Darth Jadus. Despite the team's success, two Ciphers, a Minder, and a Watcher were subjected to Imperial Castellan Restraints, a form brainwashing and mind control. Nevhra didn’t know this until his restraints were activated by an SIS leader, who showed Nevhra just how insidious his Empire was. Eventually, Nevhra would effectively defect to the Republic, working as a double agent for the SIS.

The twins were reunited briefly when Nehera was sent to assassinate the Republic SIS agent known as Technoplauge. It was during her reconnaissance that she discovered a Chiss working for the SIS. She followed the man and confronted him only to discover that her brother had survived all these years. There was very little love lost between the two, who had both thought the other had perished. This love led Nehera to abandon her mission to assassinate Technoplauge, otherwise known as Theron Shan, as he was her brother’s partner. The twins remained in contact, but they could not stay together given that her profession was highly illegal in Republic Space.

After the Zakuulan invasion, the twins reunited in Wild Space and joined the Eternal Alliance. Nevhra had been tipped off to the Alliance by Theron Shan, his old partner and on-again-off-again flame. Nehera went with her brother out of dedication and the impending promise of boundless opportunity for her to exercise her skills in the fledgling resistance.
