Fire Emblem Warriors ost giving me all the nostalgia for Awakening and Fates. Honestly I think Fates is overall much better than a lot of people give it credit for but at least even the haters agree that that game's soundtrack fucks.

Ascending his HP stat ALSO like. Is funny bc that's Xane's Thing (high HP), but also a lot of the time he lives when I really don't expect him to! He's really versatile actually, he plays support by being near enough to his allies to proc Def/Res Menace, healing from the backlines, and he can also throw some punches to either soften up a strong foe or just straight up kill them.

I'm not sure how many of Maria's skills I can put on him, given the four skill limit, but I do have a shit ton of manuals I hoard for occasions such as these 👁️👁️

nothing funnier than dimitri and dedue's intense co-dependency to the point that dedue pledges his life to dimitri and that his perceived death is a major factor in dimitri's character arc and claude and hilda's affectionate partners-in-crime schtick where claude is incredibly saddened when instead of retreating and staying safe as he thought she would she defends him and dies versus hubert being literally groomed to be edelgard's ultimate servant and speaking of nothing except her and edelgard deadass not acknowledging his death. bc she is not present on his death map. lmfao

Hiii! Introductory post coming INCREDIBLY LATE, I know. Better late than never tho, am I right?

I'm Vivi, I used to be here as one-vivid-dream on like, 2021/2022 if I remember correctly? Because of burnout and general life stuff I deactivated and have been away ever since Infinite Wealth released last January and I felt compelled to come back and share my love for RGG with like-minded people again. I’m also very into Ace Attorney, Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Pokemon and Final Fantasy XV + Thai dramas (mostly BL). This blog is gonna be 99% RGG stuff though!

I’ve played every mainline Yakuza game (except Gaiden + Ishin) and the Judgment duology. There are way too many characters of the series I like/love, so I think it’s best to leave a tierlist here at the end instead of going off and possibly making this post endless!

I’m on AO3 as ‘pxnky’ where I’ve written about pretty much all my main fandoms! There is also a high chance I’m gonna start posting headcanons again sooner rather than later, because I’ve practically snorted Infinite Wealth like coke and its characters live rent-free in my head and I *NEED* to appease them.

Look back twenty years. What's the biggest change in your fiction/art/game preferences over that time? What's the preference that's changed the least?

ooooh that's a fascinating question.

biggest change: epic high fantasy usually bores me nowadays! i was really into it as a kid. now i need a really compelling pitch to pick the genre up. (and in general i'm getting less into sf/f lately, though part of that may be just bouncing off what's getting published recently, specifically.) also: i've gotten way more into nonfiction/historical fiction than i ever was as a kid. also, i feel like i'm way more invested in, like... nitty-gritty-psychological-thriller-type-deals-where-we-learn-all-the-way-someone's-a-weird-little-freak? is that a genre? basically, i'm way less interested in strictly-"well-constructed" plots than i was, and i'm more interested in messy psychological realism. i mean 20 years was a long time ago, i was probably getting in stupid forum arguments about how such-and-such character is Objectively Poorly Written because they behaved in an inconsistent way, whereas nowadays i want to read nothing but inconsistent and weird protagonists.

smallest change: i think i first discovered Fire Emblem just shy of 20 years ago, so, yeah, i still love that series (and turn-based tactical gameplay in general), haha. also, at a high level, i'm still really interested in... loneliness? & alienation? & time & space? as themes, generally? it was super weird for me to read Virginia Woolf for the first time as an adult and realize everything i loved about her was essentially the exact same as the stuff i really loved about Chrono Cross when i played it at age 12, even though superficially those two things are nothing alike. (and i have no idea where that interest comes from—like, in my own life, i'm one of those fortunate few who had a pretty happy childhood, have had extraordinary luck in friends & rarely feel lonely... but i look at all the fiction i've written recently, or the stuff that's nearest to my heart, and man an awful lot of it has loneliness at its core. what gives!)

ok that covers fiction and games, but wrt art: i have never understood art and still don't. i probably like an awful lot of furry art for someone who's not a furry tho, that's been p stable over time
