The Higuri Regalia - proud allies of Abbiocco Fine Dining - is pleased to announce the return of: The Mythril Showcase!

As a refresher to those uninitiated: this fashion show was created during the twilight days of Menphina Madness to provide the frequenters of the Etheirys Blitzball League an opportunity to show off their acumen in style outside of the Blitzsphere. Since then, Thiji Higuri - the merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself - has tested the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through various themes.

This time, The Regalia will be teaming up with Abbiocco Fine Dining ( https://abbiocco.carrd.co/ ) to provide an exclusive venue that will open with a sneak-peek of the upcoming clothing line! Select outfits from this arcane collection will be showcased only during this night, and will not be seen or sold anywhere else until the official release of the line. So don't miss out!

(Additional information will be provided closer to the event date!)

With two successful shows now under the Regalia's belt, the deciding of the next theme was opened to the public via poll to give proper closure to this turn; now the results have finally arrived. The theme for the third Mythril Showcase will be: "Kingdoms of the Far East." This inspiration takes from the popularized culture and history of Othard, namely during its warring periods in Hydaelyn's timeline. (TRANSLATION: this cosplay contest is based off the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Warriors Orochi series)

Those who wish to participate are welcome, and will be handsomely rewarded with a glamour weapon of their choosing for their efforts. This time, however, there is a twist: as there were warring factions during ancient times, so, too, will there be specific glamour weapons tailored to them! They are detailed below:

Wei: Knights of the Round/Susano

Wu: Rubellux/Tsukuyomi

Shu: Smaragdine/Shinryu

Jin: Fae's Crown

Other: Warring Triad (Sephirot/Sophia/Zurvan)

Samurai: Four Lords (Seiryu/Suzaku/Byakko)

Orochi: Hades/Seeing Horde

(NOTE: If the faction of the character you are portraying as does not contain your desired glamour weapon, you are allowed to choose from another category. It is advised you do your research beforehand to prevent confusion.)

The top four winners will receive far more greater prizes:

The event will take place on Friday, December 22nd at 7PM EST (Doors open an hour prior) - the day of the Winter Solstice! The location: Abbiocco Fine Dining in the Goblet, Ward 14, Plot 35 (Diabolos World). Whether you wish to spectate, or show off your own Power in Beauty, all are welcome to attend!

Contestants will be judged based on a variety of categories on a 1-to-10 scale. For the sake of fairness, these criteria will be made known to all. They are as follows:

-Emulation: Cosplaying - as accurately as possible - a certain character from a particular source of media (game/show/movie, etc.)

-Adherence: Remaining within the scope of the theme.

-Embellishment: Complimenting your outfit with accessories and other small details.

-Stage Presence: Your ability to “strut your stuff” via actions or emotes.

-Reception: How well you command the audience’s excitement and attention.

*-Innovation: Any additional nuances to your entry (using minions, reciting lines, etc.) for extra points.

My Prediction for Sugar Apple Fairy Tale's Anime Future

In order to keep my spirits alive for the future of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, I have gone over the details and timeline and I'm fairly confident the series will return next year for a new season.

Also at this point I think it's safe to say this past year has simply showed the first season in general instead of 2 seasons like a lot of us, including myself assumed.

Season 1 Part 1 (Episodes 1-12) January 6th 2023 to March 24th 2023

Season 1 Part 2 (Episodes 13-24) July 7th 2023 to September 22nd 2023

During Season 1 of the anime, it has covered the first 6 light novels of the series so far.

During this period, we've been introduced to our main characters, the storyline, challenges, obstacles and of course the love between the main couple, Anne Halford and Shall Fen Shall. The anime is currently covering the 6th light novel focusing on Anne and Shall being captured by Lafall, Shall's older brother who seeks revenge against humans and fairies alike while also trying to tear the lovers apart.

With everything that's happened since Lafall's introduction, from the revelation about him and Shall being Fairy Royalty, their unborn diamond sibling and the unresolved conflict between the humans and fairies, it's obvious there is still a lot of the story left to be told. This is hardly the ending, but instead, it's only the beginning.

I find it doubtful that no matter what the anime won't end Sugar Apple Fairy Tale with Volume 6 and will be back next year for Season 2. I'm pretty hopeful they'll announce their plans as soon as the season finale is over. Besides since the light novel series ended years ago back in 2015 and therefore had already long since completed their story, I'm sure the anime is going to cover everything, considering where they are now and how far they've come since the start of the year.

For next year if/when Sugar Apple Fairy Tale returns for a second season, I'm sure it's going to follow the same timeline as this year did. Season 2 will most likely showcase 24 episodes again, dividing them into 12 episodes and show them from January to March 2024, go on a break and return from July to September 2024 just as this year did.

When that time comes, Season 2 will likely cover Light Novels 7-13. (I'm skipping Vol 12 since that consists of side stories and already showed 1 in the first season, focusing on Catt's introduction.)

Based on the information I've learned about what's to come from the light novels, they will feature...

Anne and Shall's relationship and love growing stronger, but will face a new challenge in the form of a real proper honest love triangle when Keith confesses his own feelings for Anne!

A story focusing on Mythril Lid Pod.

Anne and several Silver Sugar Masters will come together to create a special order for the Queen herself!

New fairies will be introduced, including the birth of Shall and Lafall's diamond brother!

The return of Lafall Fen Lafall!

That's as far as I'm at right now regarding the anime's future since I've decided to only focus on one step at a time. All I can say right now is keep hope alive for whatever comes on Friday cause until then I refuse to give up!

Lil' analysis of the Rufus/ Elena scene crumbs in Rebirth

I'm doing this for fun but organize my thoughts and keep tracks of things I've noticed about them while also giving some food for thoughts if there's people interested in that ship.

Here's i'm gonna analyze the scenes.

I will later write about design & symbolism , their arcs, their personnalities, relationship & how they perceive each other ,what Rebirth add to the rest of the compilation as well what road can we can potentially expect for the story of Rufus & the Turks in part 3 in general.

The Mythril Mines scene:

Here, we get get a great way to establish her character. Elena is the one who is curious and asks questions while the others try to not think about their orders much. As someone new, she also has an unique POV as the mysteries unfold in front of her.

It's also a great way to show that her superiors don't tell her everything, which may cause problem in the future as Elena is a self-righteous & rather independant person who sometime disobey orders.

They also did a great job showcasing her ruthless side & also sublty hint what drives her.

The helicopter scene en-route for the Gold Saucer with Palmer:

Here, Elena is shown being not scared to use Rufus' authority to shut up a member of the Board. Despite the space program being shut down, we still have to remember that Elena is a new employee & that Palmer is her senior by decades & used to be a friend of Rufus' father. Despite the hierarchical difference, Elena's is pretty assertive for a new employee & doesn't hesitate to borrow Rufus' authority to have Palmer stop complaining & contesting Rufus' decision to send him there in a sassy manner.

The Gongaga proto-relic sidequest:

After you're done with one of the Gongaga VR mission in the Turks facility, Elena is shown without hesitation ushering Rufus & him acknowledging her. We see that she's not scared of him & both of seem to have a respectful & cordial relationship.

I noted the interesting composition of the shot tho.

First, they didn't have to animate this. They could just had have Rufus says his line about the player performance & then leave. But they still wanted to showcase that little moment between the two of them for some reason.

Second, the way the camera zoom-in on them while putting Rude on the foreground but almost push him out of the frame as he's watching them, as if the devs really want you to pay attention to that interaction.

Third, Elena is the rookie. Thus the one who should address Rufus directly should be her seniors. However, Rufus & Elena address each other directly, with the latter talking to him confidently.

This also happens right after we see Rufus complaining about Tseng wanting to assign him bodyguards & saying he didn't need any so you would expect he would be annoyed that the babiest Turk would try to usher him away or have him ignore her. We saw how he can get with Heidegger in Remake not calling him "Mr.President". But he doesn't.

Fourth, it's clear here there was a whole switcheroos between roles due to Reno's jpn VA passing away.

In this mission, Rude & Elena address you as if you were Reno (Rude call you partner & Elena reffer to you as "senpaï" .

Reno however, already has a lot of experiences after all this years working for the Turks. My guess is that originally, those VR missions were destined to Elena.

It makes more sense, to prepare her to what the Turks' life is. VR Rufus is also already president too. If you do well during that mission, Rufus is willing to offer you whatever you want. Would that mean he made such proposition to Elena at one point? (is this how she got her pink gun which has strangely a white belt on & black buttons & is studed with diamonds?)

The flight to the Gold Saucer with Rufus:

During that scene, we're shown that Elena is curious & independant, making her a great intelligence officer material. The second she learns about the Promised Land, she decide to study the subject in the hopes to understand it better & the significance for Shinra. She then admit that it was actually a good idea to let Aerith run around so they can follow her.

It immediately switch from her to Darkstar waking up & curiously looking at Rufus. People who played the game in english however may have missed out an interesting audio detail: In the japanese dub, you can understand the reason why Darkstar woke up as you can hear Rufus do his signature (satisfied) "hmph" and him chuckling to himself while looking at window. It's even more audible in the french version as well.

D waking up & looking at Rufus curiously make it feel like it's an unusual occurence. Maybe he's just thinking about something & laugh to himself but it's also likely the game is implying Rufus was silently listening to her.

It's interesting because he is rarely framed that way. Most of the time he's the center of the room & the conversation, leading it. He addresses his employees & doesn't give more info than what's necessary. Even with Tseng, he often has his back to him & only turn around when he needs to make a point or when something intrigue him.

Added to that, letting Aerith go to follow her was Rufus' plan. Elena basically indirectly complimented him, which could be the reason why he's chuckling to himself. We never got to see him reacting this way to someone until now. For comparison, Heidegger compliment him when he decide to fire Sister Ray during chapter 4 & he didn't get any reaction from Rufus. But he's seemingly happy to get Elena's approval?

The chapter 12 tussle & rumble with Elena, Rude & Rufus.

For a start, we have to talk about how stupid this plan is as the Turks & Rufus could have just stolen the keystone, either by using Rufus'authority or burglarize the place while Dio & Avalanche were looking away. Rufus didn't also have to be there. Shinra is on the brink of a war but he instead decide to go on a trip ( it probably took a least 1 or 2 days for them to go from Midgar & reach the GS) I may have my speculations on why he's acting this way tho.

Rude, Elena & Rufus have beef with Avalanche so we can assume they went with that plan to settle their grudge by beating the shit of each other. However, the plan at first seemed to be for only Rude & Elena to fight, not Rufus. During the battle, you can hear Rufus calling Dio. It's a scripted event that only happen when you stagger Rude or Elena during the second phase of the combat (and there's chances it is Elena due to her weaker constitution). Did Rufus get protective of the Turks, which is what pushed him to suddenly participate?

Then there's the scene where he appears in the arena. While the duel between Cloud & Rufus is the main event, it's interesting to note we just have a quick zoom out on Cloud's face to show his reaction while it lingers more on the Turks & in particular Elena. There's a quick scene where Tseng calm down an excited & likely worried for his master, D. Then it switch to Elena asking what he's doing. Rufus notice her as his head turns toward her.

Elena is the most on focus while Rude in the background is blurred.

And we get this kind of smile from Rufus who's still looking at her while waving to the public. He looks softer than usual.

Then his face immediately switch to this when he turns to Cloud.

He answering her by making a show of himself. And then it's switch again to an annoyed & worried Elena. Once again, she's the point of focus while Rude is blurred.

Rufus then tell them to go join Tseng. And here we can see that he's addressing Elena (when he should address Rude) directly as his eyes are turned toward her & then turns back to Cloud while Elena can't help herself but emit a defeated sigh.

Here we're seeing that she stays herself around Rufus, trying to contest his decisions & everything. Not scared of him & not scared to show her annoyance at her boss' dumbass behavior.

Added to that, Cloud is seen asking the two party members who fought with him until now to leave him for that 1 on 1 fight. One of these two party members always turns out to be one of his love interests.

Once again, we're shown he actually pays attention to Elena, thought Rebirth is actually not the only time this happens. That whole exchange remind me of that moment between Reno & Rude in TKAA:

Which could explain as well Rude's reaction to Cloud being like "oh, poor you!" when Rufus is revealed to be alive in Advent Children. The game weigh even more on the idea that Rufus is emotionnally immature and insecure. Like Evan.

And Rufus' attitude is pretty Evan like in the way he takes risks while Elena is often compared to Kyrie by the fandom. Elena & Kyrie are fierce, morally ambiguous women who cause trouble to their group but also can be shown to be level-headed at times. Kyrie also chide & tries to confront Evan about his reckless side. Both of them could almost be considered as darker versions of these two characters. If the brothers have similar tastes in term of potential partners, well…

I think it's also interesting to note that Rufus is far more pissed about losing than during the first duel in Remake, added with Cloud poking at his insecurities.

The departure to the temple of the ancients:

This is a really interesting scene as it's a great way to show the group dynamic & Elena's potential importance after the company's crumble post- Meteorfall. Here, Elena is shown openly critisizing Rufus' decision to send them & a nice chunk of the army to the Temple of the Ancients, knowing the risks.

Rude, Reno & Tseng are shown being fine going along with whatever orders Rufus give them while Elena has her doubts & interrogations and rightfully so. Sending so many people there is a reckless move & she ended up being proven right. ( I could go on a tangent on how Elena could be a great partner to him due to the way she questions things. There's a difference between loyalty & sycophanty. And from the first scene with the Board or even Sister ray, what he needs is loyal people with enough backbone to challenge & give him the right advices. Which is what Elena represents)

However this were my beef with the english localization is coming in & how people who rely on it may have missed some nuances to the whole exchange:

In the eng version, she goes on how Rufus accompagnying the expedition is a bad idea but on brand with his character.

However in the jpn & french localization when Rude tells her Rufus is coming with them, Elena ask what he means & Reno says it's expected of him/it's not surprising. Elena says it's dangerous but that also that she doesn't dislike Rufus' decision to come with them, which is peak tsundere attitude.

While I think her eng VA did a great job overall, the direction also constantly make her sounds aggressive, even during moments when she's not.

So yeah the first version is just a statement on Rufus' behavior.

The second version give nuance on how Elena perceive Rufus. Yes, it's dangerous for him to do that but it also help her settle down a bit. She likes the fact he is participating in this.

It's also a great way to show why he has so much sway with the Turks, as Reno, Rude & Elena enjoy some of thrills that come with the job and Rufus is the same.

The compilation always frustrated me with the way their relationship has interesting tidbits but was often glossed over. I was surprised with the way Rebirth depicted these two as I considered myself lucky if we actually got them together in the same frame but we instead got a few interactions & them reacting to each other in a way that is pretty informative about their own characters but also how their dynamic would work.

It's pretty close of the interpretation I had always had for Ruiri/Rulena/Rufena: the type of ship that belong in the power couple category, similar opposites who challenge each other in a way that support them due to their strong personnalities & position while navigating thru their professional & personnal life with a fun dynamic to boot.

Cards and Souls // Blaise Callisto

As a child, Blaise spent much of her time sparring with the other performers of the Mythrill Magi. She’d been overwhelmed by the mysterious series of headaches that happened recently, and only found relief among swordplay. Every evening, she’d spend endless hours practicing, often choosing to train over attending her father’s performances, much to his dismay. On days where her body could no longer withstand her perseverance, she’d spend those hours in any tome she could find.

Today was different, however. Her father had courteously invited a prestige playwriter by the name of Jenomis Chen Lexentale and his theater group aboard the world-renown Prima Vista, as a way to get acquainted. At first, the young Au’ra was thrilled at the opportunity to showcase her father’s airship and the family she’d find herself so attached to. However, things took a turn for the worst upon meeting Jenomis’ son.

“He’s intolerable, Galiah”, said the fourteen year old. Blaise was fuming with anger, having to cut her lessons short once Ramza intervened. “Did you know he interrupted my lessons with papa, just to showcase his own technique?”, she frantically unbraided her hair. “I don’t understand why he has to stay one more day”.

“You know Sidan has been looking forward to this for awhile, Blaise”, Galiah scoffed. “Surely you can tolerate him a bit longer”.

“I don’t think we can even be in the same room”, she sighed. “It’s like he’s constantly finding ways to humiliate me”.

“What happened this time?”

“I beat him fair and square in our last match, and he claims I used magic against him”, she pouted. “And proceeded to call me a witch”.

“Have you considered the possibility he’s trying to win your affection? He is about your age, isn’t he?”

Blaise’s complexion turned bright red. “W-what? Galiah, please”, she unbuckled her weapon from her hip and threw her evening coat over her shoulders. “Don’t say such things”.

“I’m joking”, Galiah teased. She wasn’t surprised though, Blaise had turned into a young lady over the course of a few months, and though Sidan still referred to her as a mere child, it was far from the truth. It was becoming even more difficult for him to come to terms with it when he caught sight of the local boys stealing glances of her after practice.

Earning Blaise’s attention however, was the real challenge. She’d rather spend her evenings studying ancient tomes than spend a few minutes amongst nobility.

“If you’re not too terribly busy, perhaps I could enlighten you with a reading? Could take your mind off things?”

“Only if we stay here; I don’t think I can handle Ramza interrupting another one of my sessions”, Blaise sighed, taking a seat next to her friend.

The female elezen nodded, as she began to lay out her deck on the table. Blaise had been fond of Galiah’s tarot readings. Whenever the circus made a stop, people would seek her out in hopes of catching a glimpse of their future. She’d had Galiah attempt to read her fortune once or twice, much to Sidan’s dismay.

We should focus on what’s in front of us, he’d say, and worry less about what lies ahead of us.

“Now then”, she took the girl’s hand in hers. “What would you like the stars to seek out?”

Blaise pondered for a moment. “I’m not really sure, I haven’t thought about it”.

“Well that’s a shame. I guess that cuts our session short then”.

“No wait”, Blaise cut in. “Do you think I could ask about my training? Would papa be impressed with me?”

Galiah shook her head, looking rather disappointed. “I could tell you just about anything and all you’re worried about is practice? My dear, I don’t know if I should be concerned”, she sighed. “I suppose”.

The elezen woman closed her eyes, taking deep breaths as she reached towards the cards. Aether shined from her fingertips as her hand carefully reached for the card on the far left, sensing the celestial energy guiding her towards it. Without even glancing at the card, she muttered, “The Balance”.

Blaise stared in awe, rather unsure of what she meant.

Galiah’s eyes opened. ”The stars believe you will master your blade, it will guide you to protect those you care for. In times where you find doubt, it will be your answer”.

There was a moment of silence as Blaise glanced at her father’s weapon. A smile stretched across her face suddenly feeling reassured.

“Does that help?”

Blaise nodded. “It does”.

“I’m glad. Now you can rest assure and spend more time with us knowing this”, she grinned. “Now, let’s move on to the fun part, shall we?”

Blaise blinked. “Fun part?”

“The part where I get to look into your future and find your soulmate”.

“I’m starting to think you planned this”.

“Would you rather go back to the Prima Vista and deal with Ramza instead? I’m sure he would enjoy it”.

Blaise sighed in defeat, “I suppose not”.

“Then let us begin”, she asked for the girl’s hand once more. Blaise reluctantly obliged.

Galiah attuned herself to the cards once more, seeking out answers from the stars. “I see a soul”.

This seemed to catch Blaise’s interest.

“The stars predict your destinies will cross paths sooner than you’d expect, and from there, your journey will set its course”.

Blaise leaned back in her seat, a slight blush creeping on her face feeling suddenly flushed. An idea came to mind, “What color is their soul?”

Galiah kept her focus on the cards, flipping one over to reveal the Ewer. “A soul painted in blue”.

Blue. She kept repeating to herself. A soul in blue.

“Blaise”, a sound came from outside as the two girls looked towards the door. Galiah shook her head, “In here, Sidan”.

The tall elezen perched the door open, slipping through it as he swiftly removed the coat around his shoulders. “You were supposed to meet me half an hour ago. You promised you’d show Ramza and Alma around the Mythril Magi”.

Blaise sulked in her seat.

“Sidan, you can’t just waltz in while I’m in the middle of a reading”, Galiah sighed. “Now I’ve lost focus”.

“And what exactly was so important that you’d sweep Blaise away from her responsibilities?”

“Why her soulmate, of course”.

“Galiah!”, Blaise jumped. “I-I’ll go get ready, papa. Excuse me”. She bowed and bolted out of the room. Sidan slowly turned towards the fortune teller, eyes narrowed. “Soulmate, huh?”

“Sorry Sidan, my sessions are entirely confidential”.

He crossed his arms at her. “As her parent, I have the right to know”.

Galiah placed a finger to her lips, and made her way to the door. Before she left, she turned to her friend smiling. “Oh, and if you’re wondering...”

Sidan raised a brow.

“I can confirm the stars have chosen an elezen”. She waved at the man, leaving him alone to his thoughts.

So with midgar part has ended what are the events before Aerith death god i can’t i just can’t watch it in HD my heart is gonna break for her

Gotta get my walkthrough out for this. There’s a lot of stuff between those two events and if they’re gonna be done to the same quality as disc one then I’m betting they’re gonna be broken up into a lot of smaller bites. How many is up for debate but at least 3 discs is the general prediction, although I think it’ll be more.

After leaving Midgar

Kalm + Kalm flashback -- Cloud recounts his flawed memory and we get to wander about the village while working out what to do next.

Chocobo ranch -- we learn Sephiroth crossed the marsh and we need a birdy to get us over

Mythril Mine -- where we run into a new Turk, Elena, who gives out important info for our next location.

Fort Condor -- optional since you can’t really do anything at this point in the game, so I think we might just skip that bit with a nod to it that we’ll come back later.

Junon Harbour -- undercity of Junon could be a whole huge section.

Junon Topside -- Breaking in so we can board a boat for Costa del Sol (Cloud does a rhythm minigame here that I bet will be redone in the same style as the honey bee inn)

Now, there’s several good points in the OG where there’s natural stopping points if they wanna break up the game. The bit where the team boards the Shinra boat is one, so you could close out on the group leaving the continent bound for Costa del Sol.

Shinra Boat -- mostly exposition and a Jenova battle (OG this is the first time we see him)

Costa del Sol -- nothing actually happens in this bit so I’d expect it to be expanded.

Mt Corel -- Barrett’s story arc begins.

North Corel -- More Barrett backstory.

Gold Saucer -- we don’t actually go in at this time, but we get to see it.

Corel Prison -- Conclusion of Barrett’s arc.

At the end of Barrett’s arc is also a good stopping point because it has a natural conclusion to it and keeps the focus on him for the latter part of this section.

Chocobo race -- gotta get out of that prison somehow...

Gongaga -- Zack and Cloud revelations, this could be massively expanded with tons of cut scenes and maybe even some CC additions or even Zack gameplay?

Cosmo Canyon + Gi Cave -- Red’s story arc. Love this one. If you didn’t cry at the sight of Red’s dad turned to stone you’re made of stone too!

Nibelheim + Mt Nibelheim -- Cloud + Tifa story arc.

Here’s another good stopping point, although it looks a bit short, but that gives plenty of room to expand on the huge storyline it covers and add in tons of new stuff.

Rocket Town -- Hi Cid.

Wutai -- Hi Yuffie

Gold Saucer -- date and Hi Cait Sith

Temple of the Ancients -- Cloud beats up Aerith and betrays everyone

Bone Village -- find Aerith

Sleeping Forest -- Bye Aerith

City of the Ancients -- Aerith dies.

Obviously here’s another point they could stop. There’s plenty happening in all of these locations that could easily fill tons of chapters.

Corral Valley Cave -- Aftermath of Aerith’s death.

Icicle inn -- snowboarding helps you grieve.

The great Glacier -- which way do we go?

Gaea Cliffs -- this place is cold

The Northern Crater -- The place Aerith was supposed to die but they changed it.

If the devs are gonna flip the script on us slightly then they could bring this back and make Aerith survive till this point. It would make for another natural ending point.

Junon (again) -- Avalanche execution.

Search for Cloud -- Tifa leaves the party.

Huge Materia -- this definitely needs expanding because it’s a big part of the overall plot and didn’t really get the showcase it deserved.

Lifestream sequence -- yay Cloud is Cloud

Reactor missions (again) -- Underwater one and other stuff.

Rocket Town -- Cid’s arc

Return to Midgar -- Rufus gets blown up.

Final Confrontation.

So, yeah, there’s a lot happening in this game and you’ll notice that Vincent doesn’t even get an arc in the OG -- his is a side quest and it’s easy to miss if you don’t go looking for it, so I’d expect all that to get more attention too. The games have the potential to run to 7 discs in total and as expensive as that would be, and how much people would riot about the end price of the entire set I think it’s something they’d do to tie in with the whole FF7 theme.

headcanon / study ——– zangan, martial arts & her weapons

——– HER TEACHER & MARTIAL ARTS ;

when tifa was younger, she had always wanted to become stronger. it wasn’t until most of the boys left town that she ended up taking lessons from zangan, the great martial artist master with up to 128 students around the world. he took her under his wing and contained incredible skills in the art of hand to hand combat excelling most of the students in her class due to her high intelligence and perseverance in bettering herself at her sport. she would practice her skills day and night to become stronger.

the elder became somebody she was able to confide in & trust. he was somebody who would always push her to her limits in order to get better and gain more power. he was always so full of energy and cared for his students. that was something that she respected. from a mere pugilist to a fully fledged monk, she worked hard for her stripes & even to this day continues to train as much as she can given her jobs.

‘ tifa has a good sense. she’ll be a powerful fighter. ’

( she owes him her life. ) during the nibelheim incident, he was the one she went to in help to search for her father and even though he tried to stop her clearly showing his care and support, she didn’t listen. he was the one that carried her to safety after her run in with sephiroth and he was the one who ended up bringing her to midgar for medical attention. he saved her and even until this day, she will always honour him as the man who saved her & helped her with her strength. ‘ i’ll show you zangan’s secret technique. ’

——– KNUCKLES ; ( descriptions in order of pictures )

» leather gloves are the default base weapon for tifa ----- these are the ones she wear normally & these boost strength along with critical damage to enemies & have three materia slots. their ability is DIVEKICK which allows tifa to leap into the air and unleash a powerful kick to her enemies, a proficiency bonus leading her to finishing off the enemy.

» metal knuckles are enforced with extra components to pack an extra punch. their ability OVERPOWER is to be used in conjunction with standard attacks in order to more effectively pressure enemies. combine that with basic attack combos afterwards to follow up as a bonus. they have three slots for materia.

» sonic strikers are designed to be sleek in order to store materia, they come with four slots, better suited for mp damage. their ability is FOCUSED STRIKE which moderately increases stagger ------ evade, then unleash a charging attack.

» feathered gloves are lightweight gloves & one of tifa’s favourites, they are decorated with feathers giving them a delicate look. they come with the ability of STARSHOWER which allows her to unleash a rapid combination of attacks & then proceeds to increase the strength of the following attack. they have three slots to equip materia.

» mythril claws ----- ‘ gloves with razor-sharp talons made of magic-infused mythril ’ sums them up perfectly ( official description ) they have three slots in order for materia & comes with the ability CHI TRAP. this skill creates an orb of materialized chi that will immediately deal a fair share of damage upon contact with the enemy.

» purple pain is a lot different looking in terms of colour along with shape, including materia slots which comes with four. their ability is TRUE STRIKE which is a powerful attack & allows to strike a staggered enemy. bonuses also include to stagger damage. these are leather gloves crafted out of the hide of a ferocious beast.

——– SKILLS ;

cycling through three types of martial art techniques, these include; whirling uppercut, omnistrike and rise & fall. these can be executed and increase bonus stagger damage uniquely. using unbridled strength which is tifa’s core mechanic ability, this will allow her to perform her attacks in combos. melee attacks will allow her to showcase her powerful strength despite the option to use more magic based methods. whirling uppercut will land an uppercut punch to the enemy. omnistrike will allow you to blow a shoulder bash. rise & fall will allow her to leap towards targets with numerous kicks.

when using unbridled strength, this will increase her level of chi which will allow her a more powerful technique for a limited amount of time. the energy around her fists act as a visual representation. a yellow glow will signal level 2 while red will mean she’s at level 3. allowing her chi to advance ahead of time will have her unleash abilities. combining an ability with a skill can endure a huge amount of damage to the target ----- making omnistrike available from using unbridled strength & following up after starshower will deal a signficant level of harm.

with her speed along with longest dodge distance, she is able to freely move around the battle field and usually always has her chakra materia equipped to help restore hp depending on the damage she has received. that being said, she can always use elemental materia in order upgrade / improve her unbridled strength and can be used as a benefit to exploit enemies weaknesses.

——– LIMIT BREAKS ;

( level one ) » beat rush is the default limit break for tifa. this is a physical attack on the target that strikes 1.25x her usual damage. this is performed by a melee attack from her running towards the enemy and throwing three strong punches. using this nine times however will allow you to gain her next limit break.

» somersault is the second limit break which is as simple as it sounds. this is performed by tifa somersaulting backwards in the air and proceeding to kick the enemy. often also known as the ‘ zangan style ’ kick, it’s a very quick flash attack with critical damage.

( level two ) » waterkick is the first of her level two limit breaks in which she will perform a circling sweep kick towards the enemy and in turn it will unleash a small burst of spirit energy. this will inflict 1.5x damage than her regular physical attack.

» meteordrive is a non-elemental physical attack in which tifa will perform a suplex move after grabbing the enemy & forcing them to the ground with enough force to create small explosions underneath them against impact.

( level three ) » dolphin blow / dolphin flurry is a strong physical attack in which tifa will unleash an unrelenting stream of acrobatic attacks along with a jumping uppercut, this will create a surge of water to emerge surrounding the enemy and in the middle, a dolphin will appear and quickly disappear as quickly as.

» meteor strike is where tifa will physically pick up the enemy with one arm and lift them above her head ---- leaping into the air, she will then proceed to spin them before throwing them to the ground and creating an explosion underneath. the damage will be based on her strength stat however along with the weapon currently equipped.

( level four ) » final heaven is tifa’s final and ultimate limit. this is the strongest physical attack & is used with a combo of her previous limit breaks. this will be performed from a large energy charge formed in her fists before powerfully punching the enemy & essentially going through her opponent. this is almost as though she is transferring the energy through them and in turn a massive explosion will ensue.

POISE AND POSTURE merely becomes the youngest member of house fleuret, fingers intertwining alongside one another as gentle palms rest beneath her lower abdomen. silence mirrors curious hues, and head nods idle in exchange.

of course, the night star cannot blame the other for possessing such mindset. after all, such was the way of life ; SHE IS FIRE and fire embodies both the beauty and dangers of light. ❝ i understand, i am well aware of that. ❞ stella’s words are soft, gentle, and —— undeniably firm. a lady befitting her title, she is no more A PAWN than the rest of them. a single piece in this grand game of war. ❝ it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance nevertheless. i will do my best to stay out of the way.❞

Fire she is, and fire also has a curious habit of burning to the ground everything it touches. Fire constantly wants rebirth and fire will resort to destruction to achieve it. Aranea stands, weary but proud, fresh from battle and with her spear still in her hand. Dirt, sweat, and blood cling to her like children at their mother’s skirts, and she gives suck to these articles of war and death. The end of her spear digs into the ground, fleur-de-lis marking the earth as it casually bears her weight.

“You don’t need to stay out of my way, Goldilocks.” Her words come through a grate of black mythril that obscures her face, leaving only her wary green eyes visible and leaving it difficult to gauge her mood. Wispy strands of silver spill out from her helm and frame what remains viewable of her face, a stark contrast of femininity with unyielding black metal. “Just remember that I’m not here to take orders. If you got that, then we’re good.”

The Higuri Regalia is pleased to announce the return of: The Mythril Showcase!

As a refresher to those uninitiated: this fashion show was created during the twilight days of Menphina Madness to provide the frequenters of the sport an opportunity to show off their acumen in style outside of the Blitzsphere. Since then, Thiji Higuri - the merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself - has tested the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through various themes. This time, The Regalia, now official League Sponsors of the EBL, is providing this as a new avenue of competition for spectators, fans, and players alike!

With two successful shows now under the Regalia's belt, the deciding of the next theme was opened to the public via poll to give proper closure to this turn; now the results have finally arrived. The theme for the third Mythril Showcase will be: "Kingdoms of the Far East." This inspiration takes from the popularized culture and history of Othard, Hingashi, and the surrounding regions, namely during its warring periods in Hydaelyn's timeline. (TRANSLATION: this cosplay contest is based off the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Warriors Orochi series)

To commemorate the release of the PiB Catalogue’s eighth clothing line, the gourmet restaurant’s staff have allowed the use of their establishment for a night of haute couture! Music and food aplenty as the Diamond Sultan himself unveils his latest and greatest masterworks!

The models will be showing off select items from the PiB Catalogue’s new line, detailing the designs and materials one after the other. “A dedication to all of the brave citizens and adventurers”, as Lord Thiji states.

This fashion competition was created during the Second Umbral Moon (April, 2022) to provide the people of Etheirys the opportunity to show off their acumen in style. The merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself wishes to test the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through a theme of his choosing.

As per the name of the event, this theme will be “Sugar, Spice, & Everything Ice”. As a lover of all things frigid, the eccentric Sultan desires to kick off the official coming of Winter in a proper manner by seeing who has what it takes to capture the season’s many facets through style.

Those who wish to participate are welcome, and will be handsomely rewarded with a glamour weapon of their choosing for their efforts (GSM/WVR/ALC Specialist). To allow for more freedom in this contest due to the broadness of the category that is Winter, there will be two brackets: one for original outfits, and the other for cosplay. The fashion show will take place on Saturday, April 22nd at 7PM EST (Doors open at 6PM!), the Saturday following the Aldenard Blitzball Conference Round 2! The location: The Higuri Regalia’s Aldenard Branch HQ in the Goblet, Ward 7, Plot 43 (Balmung World). The Deva Lounge (Created for - and in honor of - our allies of the @bandeepakshee) in the lower level will be where the contest takes place. Whether you wish to spectate, or show off your own Power in Beauty, all are welcome to attend!

Contestants will be judged based on a variety of categories on a 1-to-10 scale. For the sake of fairness, these criteria will be made known to all. They are as follows:

-Emulation: Cosplaying - as accurately as possible - a certain character from a particular source of media (game/show/movie, etc.)

-Adherence: Remaining within the scope of the theme.

-Embellishment: Complimenting your outfit with accessories and other small details.

-Stage Presence: Your ability to “strut your stuff” via actions or emotes.

-Reception: How well you command the audience’s excitement and attention.

*-Innovation: Any additional nuances to your entry (using minions, reciting lines, etc.) for extra points.

The Regalia’s Magnum Opus - Blessed by Winter

Winter.

That one word alone brings with it a myriad of concepts. To some, it is the passing of life and a solemn end to the Autumn season. To others, it is a time of reflection and solitude - an epoch of rumination as the year draws to a close, preparing ourselves for what's to come. And to others still, it heralds a natural cleansing of the realm, as the frigid snows and chilling gusts wipe clean land's slate for the arrival of its distant yet equally-beautiful sibling known only as Spring. All this and more culminates with the newest echelon of haute couture that will sweep across Etheirys like a blizzard of katabatic proportions.

This... is the Himvat Gallery.

Created wholly through Lord Thiji’s latest permutation of Mythril, cloth, and solvent, this clothing line is unlike the previous, for these masterful pieces of attire were made solely for the adventuring public. In a manner to rival Mistress Tataru’s Boutique, the Higuri Regalia has, for the first time ever, established a special fashion edition for the Disciples of War, Magic, Hand, and Land. Naturally, this constitutes a large number of outfits - the largest in any line ever released by the Regalia.

Each set of gear – known colloquially as “Artifact Armor” by adventurers – are made in the colors of House Higuri: ice blue, silver white, and lavender violet, but are completely dyeable to the wearer’s desires. Thanks to the Himvat materials invented by the Diamond Sultan – “Himvat” meaning “Wintry” in the Thavnairian tongue - these ensembles have a natural affinity for Ice-aspected aether, but can be comfortably worn by any individual of any aetherial signature. These “Warriors of Frost” would have an innate advantage in the warmer climes and Winter months, as they are kept safe from the blazing light of Azeyma’s rays or kept warm during a Coerthan blizzard respectively.

Opening the catalogue’s contents, you would find a picture of the Diamond Sultan on the very first page, and a foreword on the other, undoubtedly by the aforementioned merchant-lord of fashion…

“Greetings, reader. I am Thiji sor Higuri, Diamond Sultan of the Higuri Regalia. Beyond this page lies the Power in Beauty Catalogue’s Himvat Gallery - created entirely from my own genius and mastery over Winter. If you have the drive and the will to achieve new heights of fashion, we humbly welcome you to browse.”

“Unlike the previous clothing lines leading up to this one, the anti-glamour enchantment I place upon those who desire to wear the Regalia’s exquisite ensembles in a non-combat setting will not be offered here. Since this is the first fashion line oriented towards combat, you are free to utilize the artifact armor at your own leisure, and forge your own legend as you continue contributing to Etheirys’ safety and well-being. Be advised, however, that these exclusive materials will only be used for the creation of attire shown in this line, making them far more expensive than any other item thus far showcased.”

“And the best part? No need to perform a series of silly quests to attain or otherwise make these sets dye-able.”

“As always, you may send all commission requests to either myself, Treasurer Susuna, or any of my Head Secretaries if you are interested in receiving enlightenment.”

The Higuri Regalia - proud sponsors of the Thavnair Immortal Lions - is pleased to present: The Mythril Showcase!

This fashion show was created mid-season to provide the frequenters of Menphina Madness an opportunity to show off their acumen in style. The merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself wishes to test the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through a theme of his choosing.

In honor of its inauguration, this theme is "The Sorceress' Knight". A personal favorite of the Mythrite Sultan's, this play of the same name is known by adventurers and romanticists the realm over for its gripping story of love and succession of witches. Those who wish to participate are welcome, and will be handsomely rewarded with a glamour weapon of their choosing for their efforts (GSM/WVR/ALC Specialist). The top four winners will receive far more generous prizes!

The theme of this fashion show is based off of Final Fantasy VIII. Contestants will be judged based on a variety of categories on a 1-to-10 scale. For the sake of fairness, these criteria will be made known to all. They are as follows:
