#rememberingmyfather #rememberingmyfatherinheaven #myappa Adadosai was my Appa's favourite Ancedote about how my appa Rechristened Adai to Adadosai Adai is a must in a Vegetarian family as it gave the required protein to body Atleast once a week Adai will be made Thanjavur - Kumbakonam families will always make thick Adai and it will be little heavy on the stomach While my appa understood the need for this protien requirement he was not a big fan of thick Adai He will find ways and means to avoid eating it much to the chargin of my Amma. Behind him she will be muttering that he is not having this Adai. This used to happen quite often. Both remaining unhappy ☹️ I was in class nine and was visiting my Chittappa ( Appa's younger brother) in Salem. While my appa could not manage to boil water; he was a fabulous Cook I saw him grinding the Adai batter in mortar pestal (best tasting Adai Dosai) and while it was half done he added soaked Tomatoes to it Immediately my curiosity increased and I started questioning him He told me Tomatoes help in two ways One it gives nice colour Two it makes it very thin and crispy That trip it was only me n my brother who visited him. I came back to Chennai and silently took over my mom's kitchen; which I usually used to do 😁😁 and annoy her. Made this Adai; Amma was asking what on earth I was doing by adding tomatoes to Adai batter.
