I really love all of the literature references being made that either directly or indirectly compares Liam to various protagonists of classic literature. There’s this one, and the Wuthering Heights scene I posted before, where Elbert talks about being told not to touch Liam’s past while Liam is onstage acting out the “haunt me, then!” monologue. But there’s an earlier scene where Liam is playing Mercutio (the first show of his that MC goes to see after meeting him), which fits fairly well with his character, and another earlier scene where the director offers him the role of Quasimodo, and says it would likely be a challenge for Liam because Quasimodo is lonely, and Liam is so popular.
I just think all of the scenes they pick out reflect how he feels about himself or what he’s going through so well, even when he can’t identify his feelings or be honest about them. And there’s another layer there, I think, of how Liam says he enjoys acting because it allows him to become someone else for a moment—but every character he’s played throughout his route has reflected him and his feelings about what’s going on around him

never have i ever ... long form tim/brady? if you had to write 90k about them what would compel you to do so?
oh gosh. there is one idea for them that like, i think could turn into a long thing, and it once again features my guy, divorced brady (this is in no way shape or form a knock on the real life man and his relationship, it is just SO narratively compelling, truly rotating the blorbo on a hot dog roller):
in any case THIS time, we have the same sort of - marriage falling apart, divorced by the time the summer starts. and brady comes back to ottawa for the pre-season and has to buy a new place and fill it with new furniture and it is empty and generic and sad as fuck, and he is lonely, and life is not turning out how he thought, etc etc
tim, meanwhile, i think had a boyfriend. and the boyfriend was - fine. a perfectly nice mayonnaise jar of a man. literally everyone on the team was like "i guess???". they've been dating for like a year or so and then around the start of the season things start to fizzle out, but it's not quite over yet. on the verge.
the thing is, as the season goes from october to november to december, brady keeps asking tim to hang out, and tim keeps saying yes.
it's not like - there are other people on the team, yeah, but all the guys who are older have partners and brady is feeling so blatantly unpartnered. and all the young guys just want to have a good time, and brady loves to have a good time, but he's 30 and also needs a proper amount of sleep. and he feels a little guilty, sometimes, that he keeps asking if tim wants to hang out and play video games, or watch a movie, or whatever, anything so long as he isn't in his condo alone, but also tim keeps saying yes, so what's the harm?
by the holidays, tim's bland boring boyfriend is no longer his boyfriend. tim's over at brady's more often than not. by the all star break, the team is on an upswing. tim has clothes at brady's condo. brady feels mostly fine about the divorce, not nearly so bitter as he had been in september. when tim asks, haltingly, how he's doing, brady isn't lying when he says he's okay.
they aren't sleeping together. but every so often - once a week - once a day - every hour - brady thinks about it. about what it would be like to do that. one time, when tim comes over after a night out, two in the morning and drunk and smelling like someone else's aftershave before brady rolls him into a bed (his bed), he has to go take a shower and jerk off and bite his own fist not to make any noise, and then he goes and sleeps in the guest bedroom so he doesn't feel like a creep.
but the team is doing well. they're on track to make the playoffs, second in the division. brady can't fuck up the rest of his life just because he wants to sleep with his teammate - and maybe other things, besides.
in april, they clinch. in april, they go out, the whole team. in april, tim drags on his shirt collar and braces his forehead against brady's and swallows hard enough that brady can hear it echoing in his skull, and brady's gonna kiss him, he's gonna, it's happening now -
in april, brady says, after the playoffs, and tim shudders.

Ok so I’ve seen a lot of columbo (your blorbo I believe) on your blog and I might cave and watch it but I was wondering why you like it so much? What’s the appeal of this little man? *holds up microphone so you can scream about your blorbo*
Yes! Whenever I hear the word blorbo it's always Lt "first name" Columbo I think of. So I like the show and the character for multiple different reasons!
I am a mystery nerd through and through and generally tend to favor the more classic mystery stories. One of the things I was most impressed with by Columbo is that it's a genuinely very good mystery show. It's a reverse detective story in which we the audience see the murder/murderer at the start and get to watch Columbo slowly piece together the pieces. And even without the whole Whodunnit aspect it's very compelling. He does damn good detective work, very methodically putting together the pieces until the gotcha at the end!
Columbo very much feels very separate from any thing else, both in the 1970s and now. He's a cop but he never uses a gun (and in fact is berated for letting his gun training lapse because he 'doesn't like them'). There's no berating of suspects, no macho moments. Columbo will charm and lie to his suspects but Peter Falk's version of the character is so unique, I can't really compare him to any other similar detective. Same with the formula, in an era of remakes and revivals, Columbo feels new despite being almost 50 years old.
What makes the show, other than the fantastic mysteries is Peter Falk himself. How does one even describe him? He's charming and polite in the most disheveled and awkward way possible. He's small and hunched over always looking like he just staggered out of bed. He's annoying, latching onto the murder suspects and just acting like an annoying, if kinda funny, liddle guy, until you realize at the end Columbo was just gathering evidence and laying traps. He's intelligent, observant but very humble, never brags about anything except how talented his wife and various extended family members are. His character is truly very interesting and I love to rotate him in my mind and put him under glass to study him.

Deltarune
deltarune. (insert gif of queen run cycle here)
blorbo (favorite character)
QUEEN im obsessed with her. megamind looking woman. listens to bitcrushed music. just a silly motherfucker. lancer's mom. we are to be wed in june
scrunkly (my baby)
obviously lancer. i doodle him all the time, hes so fucking cute. his character on its own would be good, but his bonds with the people around him make him compelling and fun and especially bittersweet. a victim of neglect who still loves the one who neglected him very much. an isolated little boy with two fathers, one official and unofficial, neither of which take very good care of him (sorry rouxls). he has no friends even close to his age when we first meet him, and he has been formed as a person thus far by his father, who he both strives to be and naturally wants to separate from himself. meeting people who treat him gently and with kindness, people who encourage his interests (cartoony "evil"), people who love him in a new way he hasn't experienced before and is overjoyed to be experiencing.... god.
i am especially compelled by the wrinkle of susie outright saying in the first chapter that if she sees the king, she will kill him. that is lancer's only "true" family, his superior dad, and he doesn't want anyone to get hurt on either side, he just wants to keep everyone safe the only way he knows how, which is sending them to the prison. because people there are generally just... forgotten. but not further hurt, not directly, he knows that. seeing him so unwilling to hurt others and simultaneously having childlike problem solving skills is so, so, so great and heartbreaking and endearing. he's a sweet little boy, a bouncy little pumpkin, thrust into highly unusual circumstances. also his relationship with rouxls is adorable.
and god, the way his dad cast his son away onto his subjects, and lancer knowing that everyone just has to be nice to him because he's the prince. god. theres more i could talk about but i will stop. for Now
scrimblo bimblo (underrated favorite)
hmm..... see, this category just overlaps too much with other categories for me to decide on this, plus the fandom is big enough that every character has their own pocket of appreciators. i don't see enough content for sweet cap'n cakes though. k_k is my favorite i LOVE his design SO FUCKING MUCH and hes stupid. i would like to buy 300 bagels.
glup shitto (obscure favorite)
CATTI, i cannot WAIT to learn more about her. i hope we get to learn more about her soonish... she seems interesting already, with a family who doesn't take her seriously, her own job while still in high school, she's quiet and moody, her best friend is a silly jock snake.... already lots of layers. i demand more layers. NOW.
poor little meow meow (pathetic favorite)
i feel like people ignore how truly sad and fucked up ralsei is. like, he was just waiting there alone for so long. it's clear that there's Something Up with ralsei, but for now he just seems very. y'know. the whole "our existence is dependent on making others happy" thing is deeply concerning and makes me want to shake him by the shoulders and say LIVE FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR LIFE HAS VALUE ALL ON ITS OWN!!!! we'll see how it pans out. hopefully he stops telling other darkners that their only purpose is to serve lightners - i honestly get uncomfortable when he does that. i believe it's intentionally uncomfortable, but sir please stop that, your lives all have value of their own :( pls dont tell that to my bouncy little pumpkin he is a gem. anyway that kind of thinking is true meow meow behavior.
horse plinko (character i would torment for fun)
KING. despite what i said up there about king, i absolutely love him, but in the way some people love spamton. i wanna put him in a jar and shake him until he turns into pulp. i want to roll his hamster wheel down a hill with him still running in it like a cartoon character. i love his stupid water bottle and how defensive he is about it. how DEADLY serious he insists on being... but he still lets the cracks show. he wants cashews from the store. he bounces lancer to comfort him when he is sad. he clearly has deep affection for his son, but affection alone does not a good parent make. he is neglectful and selfish, but he still loves his boy, despite casting him away. he contains multitudes, complications. his implied past relationship (platonic or romantic) with queen is hilarious, too - theyre so divorced and its a super fun dynamic seeing a super silly character and a hyperserious character bounce off of each other. they really do have a lot of comedic chemistry! also his design is super awesome and i LOVE the tummy mouth with the spade rope tongue thing. its badass. sometimes you just need a character to be a campy for the evuls villain so you can imagine kicking him down the stairs
eeby deeby (character i would send to superhell)
undyne unless she fucking resigns from her job. i love undyne so much but WHYYY is she a cop. WHY. I HATE IT. TO SUPERHELL WITH YOU
