I read Why Not Soar Your Majesty and it is the funniest story I’ve ever read ever and I love it sososososososo much.

Plot synopsis, so that my explaining funnies will make sense:

Tang Xiao, our dashing female lead, plays as a male character on a game, where she spends all of her time trying to bother Su Muzhe, flirting with female characters, and being a dick. She is infatuated with Mu Cheng. Unbeknownst to her, Su Muzhe is Mu Cheng. Mu Cheng knows that Tang Xiao is the asshole being an asshole in the game, but Tang Xiao goes a pretty long time without figuring out that Mu Cheng is Su Muzhe.

Tang Xiao is the MOST shameless character I’ve ever encountered in my entire life and I love her so goddamn much. Everyone in her server finds immense joy in killing her repeatedly. She got killed by Su Muzhe early on in the game, and so she changed usernames and spends an entire month repeatedly proposing to Su Muzhe as obnoxiously as possible. She gets caught and immediately tries to pretend she doesn’t know what they’re talking about. She’s an idol and she spends a good amount of time bragging about her own good looks. She finds out that Su Muzhe is bribing people (to bother her) with signed pictures of Mu Cheng, and she says that she will marry her if she gets Mu Cheng’s nudes (not actual nudes, just half nudes, but still)

Su Muzhe agrees to marry Tang Xiao and Tang Xiao, who did not expect this result, immediately panics. She ditches the first wedding and only agrees to the second for those nudes. She legitimately thinks that Su Muzhe is a girl, and she never consider that Su Muzhe might be a guy until she hears his voice and realizes that he is one.

She very loudly proclaims her desire to sleep with Mu Cheng IN FRONT OF MU CHENG. Granted, she doesn’t know it’s him, but still!!! She flirts with other players, Su Muzhe appears to kill her. She badmouths Su Muzhe, Su Muzhe appears to kill her. She exists, Su Muzhe is filled with a strong urge to kill her.

(Mu Cheng does this because he is her next-door neighbour and he can hear her cussing him out and he thinks it’s cute. He’s an embarrassment, I love him.)

Tang Xiao eventually realizes that Mu Cheng is Su Muzhe, and she’s so embarrassed that she can’t even talk to him. Mu Cheng literally kills every single person that dares express any attraction to her (in game), and she does not realize that he likes her. Tang Xiao tries to bribe one of the other players with (more) pictures of herself, and they offhandedly ask if Su Muzhe is willing to trade (more of) those pictures for pictures of another actress, and Tang Xiao just does not understand what’s happening. “What does she do with them?” I don’t know, Tang Xiao. It’s a mystery.

At one point, Tang Xiao inadvertently seduces all of the girls on set, and Mu Cheng’s reaction is “Now I have to ward off WOMEN, TOO?” Mu Cheng is so jealous, constantly, he would be the most happy if Tang Xiao only ever spoke to him and nobody else, but he’s a gentleman, so he takes out his fury by killing random people in a video game and pretending that nothing is wrong while wholeheartedly supporting all of her choices and spoiling her rotten. He lets her use his account when she gets banned, and he is unsurprised and exasperated when she immediately takes advantage of this to mess with everyone. He does not care if Tang Xiao calls him “wife,” even after they know each other’s identities. He turns down all of his acting and modelling offers so that he can be her housewife.

Mu Cheng is definitely the most obvious man on the planet, but it’s okay because Tang Xiao is the dumbest person in the galaxy. She is not supposed to game, so she does it secretly. She isn’t supposed to drink, but she can’t help but drink the wine when it’s pretty. She is asked repeatedly if she wants face, and she always, always, ALWAYS responds “nope.”

AND YET. She is so smart! There’s a whole plot where you think “oh, dumbass XiaoXiao’s gonna fall for this,” and she NEVER DOES. She’s unflappable. A director tries to manipulate her into a sexual relationship and she kicks him in the balls. The wild world of fame just does not affect her, she is uninterested unless it’s about fighting her antis, in which she turns on her alt accounts to bug them. She is well aware that she’s gorgeous and she uses this to her advantage as often as possible.

She has a strange relationship with Chief Ning that nobody understands and that makes Mu Cheng absolutely furious with envy. He is so jealous of Chief Ning. He is SO jealous. (She does not realize this, except to think “why am I sitting in the warzone?”) Mu Cheng spends the entire second half of the novel boiling over with lust, but he is very patient. He would like to absolutely destroy Tang Xiao, but he would also like to wrap her in bubble wrap and hand-feed her and cuddle. He is having the absolute time of his life making her so angry she swears like a sailor, but he is the only one allowed to see her in that state.

I am obsessed with their relationship. It’s so pure. It’s so horny. Tang Xiao accidentally tells Mu Cheng to his face that she would very much like to fuck him. He makes her food and he always asks what she wants for dinner. She showed him her ability to take off her bra without taking off any of her clothes and he almost died. Her room is covered in pictures of him. We never find out where he put the pictures he got of her. He thought she was attractive when he saw her sing in flawless French, then fell for her when he heard her cursing like a particularly badmouthed sailor. She wants to fuck him so bad but she cannot even make eye contact with him when he’s not wearing a shirt.

Their relationship! Is! So! Cute!

I could ramble about this all day. I loved this novel, everyone should read it and then come back and agree with me that it’s super funny. There are so many setups for love triangles and they go absolutely nowhere because Mu Cheng can only see Tang Xiao and Tang Xiao only ever even looks at other men because they vaguely remind her of Mu Cheng. It’s sooo funny, I read it in one night, I have Not Slept, I am So Tired, I love Chief Ning and his weird relationship with Tang Xiao with all my heart, Tang Xiao finds out that Mu Cheng saw her perform years ago and her response is “I’m jealous that you got to meet me while I was so young,” it’s perfect, Tang Xiao is perfect, I love it.

Organized Crime Ring in Astoria, NY, in a neighborhood under the jurisdiction of 114th PRECINCT and in apartment buildings managed by CENTRAL ASTORIA, LLC. I have been the victim of TARGETED COMMUNITY HARASSMENT SINCE SUMMER 2016 because of my race and gender, I am an African American woman (because of a rumor / gossip mill started by staff at NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION while I was employed there from 2014 to 2016 I was made the victim of targeted psychological harassment). Due to the illegal access and leaking of private, personal, confidential information by wiretapping / cloning / hacking of personal devices and illegal surveillance in my residence. This includes leaking of confidential medical information ((HPV, strains that can cause cervical cancer and an Abortion) - 2 PEOPLE WHO ARE CONSTANTLY REFERENCED IN THE DAILY PSYCHOLOGICAL HARASSMENT I HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS NOW - DEVIN ELTON THOMPSON and WILFRED SHAWN KIRKALDY (POST 1 - DEVIN)

This post will focus mostly on DEVIN ELTON THOMPSON. I will have a separate post for WILFRED SHAWN KIRKALDY. and other people involved in my harassment and people who I think instigated the harassment. These people are constantly subliminally referemced to me through the use of various psychological abuse tactics to constantly remind me of these people. These 2 men are from my sexual past and I believe I was made a target because of an STD, specifically HPV, which I was diagnosed with in 2008. I believe someone (s) at NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ILLEGALLY ACCESSED AND LEAKED MY MEDICAL INFO IN THR WORKPLACE AND TO PEOPLE FROM MY PERSONAL LIFE. Based on the timing of my diagnosis, I contracted HPV from one of the first 3 out of a total of 6 sexual partners I have had in my life. WILFRED IS INCLUDED IN THE FIRST 3, I believe I contracted HPV from WILFRED. I was diagnosed 6 months after we ended our sexual relationship in JULY 2007. We had a long term relationship over the course of 4 or 5 years, all of the time I was faithful, considering his sexual history and some of the behaviors he engaged in while we were together I cannot confidently say the same for him even though he claims he was faithful. I only had 1 sexual partner prior to him, and he had 4 children with 4 mothers by his late 20s, so while I don't really know how many partners he had because the number he told me could have been a lie, but I think just this statement says enough about his abundant sexual history. Sadly, WILFRED is like a living breathing stereotype; a black man, an athlete (basketball player) with a promiscuous lifestyle and multiple children with multiple woman (common in JAMAICAN culture of which he is a descendent). DEVIN is kind of also, with exception of multiple children with multiple women, but he checks the other stereotypical boxes regarding promiscuity and black athletes.

The problems / red flags with DEVIN ELTON THOMPSON that I observed shortly after meeting him in May 2010 via a blind date hook up by a mutual acquantaince, SHO CLARK.

Based on my observation, experience, and analysis of my daily ORGANIZED GROUP STALKING / COMMUNITY HARASSMENT / PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE AND TORTURE I have come to the conclusion that this individual and / or associates of his may have played an integral role in making me the targret of WORKPLACE MOBBING / ORGANIZED GROUP STALKING / COMMUNITY STALKING / PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE and ABUSE, which started in 2015 while I was employed at the NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION because of ILLEGALLY ACCESSED and LEAKED CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL INFO (specifically, HPV diagnosis in 2008, strains that can cause cervical cancer)

In addition to the HATE CRIME element to the ongoing stalking and harassment there is a Religious Zealotry / Nuttery / Judgmental / Fundamentalism / Extremism element to my daily harassment as I am being harassed by mostly Muslim and Latino people. Based on facts / my observation, I would estimate that 9 out of 10 people harassing me on a daily basis are Muslim or Latino, with Muslims ranking number 1, Muslims who appear to be from Middle Eastern / Arab countries and countries on the Asian continent. All of the tenants in my apartment building are involved in my daily harassment, especially the 3 apartments surrounding my apartment. 2 of the apartments are occupied by Muslim tenants and the 3rd apartment is occupied by Latino tenants. Out of the 9 apartments in my apartment building. 2 of the tenants, including myself are African American, the remaining 7 apartments are occupied by Latino and Muslim tenants, with the Muslims being in the majority.

As I stated in previous posts, there are certain topics / themes / life events / people that I am harassed about on nearly a daily basis as part of my HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN, consistently, repetitively throughout any given day. Constant, annoying references to people, places, and things I no longer care about and have not cared about for a long time, and basically life events and people who are old news, part of my past and no longer part of my current or future life. The people and sitiations have been dealt with, processed, healed and moved on from and handled accordingly going forward, either having a non existent role in my life or a severely diminished / different role in my life. I like quality versus quantity, so I have always only called a few friends but have had many associates / acquaintances in my life because I am easy going and open minded, which has always afforded me the privelege of connecting with all kinds of people.

If you were in my life and you have been reduced or removed from my life, you have either said or done something / multiple things to disrepect me, you have used me / taken advantage of me by mistaking my kindness and loyalty for weakness, betrayed my trust, or I just got weird / negative vibes from you. For romantic interests, this is heightened, especially as I became more experienced, mature and discerning regarding decision making around the men I would allow into my life romantically and the level of access / relationship to be granted, especially by the time I met DEVIN ELTON THOMPSON, I was 33 and had already experienced one serious long term relationship with WILFRED SHAWN KIRKALDY, that had elements of negativity, disrespect, emotional immaturity, verbal and emotional abuse, etc. Before that relationship I had very little experience in dating and relationships (1 boyfriend who was my first sexual experience occuring after I graduated college, prior to that I barely kissed a boy and did not engage with boys other than friendship for the most part. I was into my friends and school work, those were my priorities) so I had to go through many growing pains during that time and that experience helped me to be more discerning going forward.

I knew upfront that DEVIN ELTON THOMPSON and I would never work romantically in a serious monogamous commitment for various reasons, which is why when I was done having fun I ended things because I don't like to waste time, plus there were some elements of the same tumult, disrespect, and negativity I experienced with WILFRED SHAWN KIRKALDY previously. I will talk about WILFRED in another post, as I think multiple people played a role in a conspiracy to make me target of this HARASSMENT, only his reasons are not about HPV (this is a lie he and or associates of his might be telling) because based on the timing of my diagnosis I most likely contracted it from WILFRED and I contacted him immediately following my diagnosis. So WILFRED has known about my HPV diagnosis since 2008, at least 6 months after we ended things for good (as well as our sexual relationship, which ended in JULY 2007). I called WILFRED on my personal cell phone right after I received the call from my GYN. So, if he has anything to do with me becoming target of ORGANIZED GROUP STALKING and HARASSMENT, he and / or associates of his has told one or more lies to get people involved in my HARASSMENT. There are a couple of other factors that lead me to believe I contracted HPV from WILFRED, but who cares, HPV is extremely common. If I did indeed contract it from him, he probably did not know he had it because it can be dormant / asymptomatic / clear up on its own and have no negative effects on you, especially men, also there is no test for men in US as far as I know except for maybe a plain visual inspection.

The one thing I will point out are the commonalities WILFRED and DEVIN have, which potentially have them moving in the same social, maybe even familial circles based on industry and culture, which would make collusion and conspiracy quite easy. They are both of JAMAICAN descent, they both have played BASKETBALL on a high level, they both have ties to NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, through basketball, and employment / vendor services ties. They have ties to the BRONX, BASKETBALL industry and JAMAICAN culture are notoriously known to practice extreme misogyny. The kind of psychological abuse and ILLEGAL SURVEILLANCE and invasion of privacy, and disrepect certainly seem to be rooted in extreme misogyny. Constant comments on my physical appearance, my body my biological functions related to my reproductuve organs, etc. Plus at the end of the day, this seems to have been done because of HPV, because I know the life I have lived, I have not done anything to and I don't mess with people, there is no other reason someone would do this to me. Whoever inflicted this inhumane and disrespectful harassment onto me is ignorant and mad because you may or may not have contracted an STI, which is extremely common and may never have an effect on you) from a woman and you went ballistic because you are an ignorant misogynist who obtained medical information you have no business knowing in an ILLEGAL manner.

I want to preface this by saying, these men mean nothing to me. I will address WILFRED individually and indepth in a separate post. WILFRED broke off our engagement and forced me to move out of the apartment we shared together even though he did not have to because when he told me he wanted to break up in JANUARY 2006 and wanted me to move out, without his help or knowledge I SECURED AN APARTMENT LEASE STARTING FEBRUARY 2006, so some of the childish shenanigans he pulled to try to make me feel unwelcomed were unnecessary, within a month I was out. WILFRED helped me move into my new apartment and subsequently felt regret for breaking things off and tried to get us back together, tried to get me to move back in but I renewed my lease. From me moving out in FEBRUARY 2006 to us officially ended things in JULY 2007 we worked on the relationship but too many things happened to ever repair it, at least for me, in my mind the relationhip was over when I moved out. I think both of us were just dragging out the inevitable because going cold turkey can be hard. So I don't want anything to do with this man and after the dust had settled I was glad he broke things off because we did not belong in that relationship to begin with. I was young and inexperienced and I fell into something I had no business being involved in and if he did not end things when he did I probably would have ended things eventually but after too much unecessary time and energy had been spent. We have not been romantic / sexual since JULY 2007 and I have had no desire to do so since.

I moved on and so did he, or at least I thought. If he has anything to do with me being made a target, maybe he had not really moved on as I had because why in 2015 when all this stuff began, when I have not dealt with him since 2007. Also, we maintained an acquaintanceship afterwards mostly involving me running into him randomly on the streets every couple of years or so. So, even after the verbal / emotional abuse I experienced moreso after we initially broke up I moved on from that stuff and forgave. I did not hold a grudge, I just never forgot snd knew that I would never deal with him romantically again. So, if I ran into him on the street I would speak instead of crossing the street to avoid because I didn't care anymore, had healed and moved on. Breaking up turned out to be the best thing he did, his methods and emotional and verbal abusive tactics were fucked up but breaking up was the best thing for me.

After JULY 2007, WILFRED and I never hung out after that or communicated with each other on any kind of regular or consistent basis. He just became a closed chapter in my past who I had processed, healed and moved on from. Someone from my past that I ran into on the street randomly over the years who I would not cross the street to avoid because there were no feelings there anymore. We always stopped to talk to each other briefly to catch up on life and kept it moving.

I am only talking about WILFRED for the same reasons I have stated for DEVIN, because I have been forced to because of this HARASSMENT that has been inflicted upon me, because like DEVIN, WILFRED is also thrown in my face daily, multiple times a day through constant, repetitive subliminal messaging to PSYCHOLOGICALLY ABUSE, HARASS, and TORTURE me. I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THESE MEN OR ANYTHING AT ALL, BUT I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO IN ORDER TO PUT TRUTH OUT THERE BECAUSE IT'S OBVIOUS THERE ARE LIES OUT THERE ABOUT ME AND PERSONAL INFO THAT IS NO ONES BUSINESS SPRINKLED WITH LIES AND HALF TRUTHS, possibly spread by these men and / or associates of these men.

Whoever did this to me needs to be held accountable legally and they need professional mental health help, however they probably won't be because it is obvious they are being protected by law enforcement and other government and corporate entites, therefore I had no choice but to the tell my truth and put people on blast because at the end of the day, anyone I have named on my posts, if they did not in fact initiate this harassment, they know its being done to me because they participated in harassing me. Active and passive bystanders are just as culpable in the harassment as the instigators.

ORGANIZED GROUP STALKING AND HARASSMENT IS NOTHING BUT AN ORGANIZED CRIME RING DEALING IN THE RUIN, DESTRUCTION, AND DEATH OF HUMAN BEINGS. The very reason I am typing this draft right now for posting is because I was awakened by the usual daily NOISE HARASSMENT, which occured one night AT AROUND 3:45 AM. This is a common occurrence. As long as these people keep harassing me I am going to continue talking about them and what they have done to me. They should be exposed for the ORGANIZED CRIME they have gotten themselves involved in since they will probably never be held accountable legally, I will put it out there for public opinion because crimes and violations of my privacy, civil, and human rights are being trampled on everyday and part of me coping is to simply tell my truth. Also, this kind of harassment thrives in secrecy and lies so I figure the simplest ways to combat are by exposure / transparency and truth. Also, if people are so nosy and interested in my life and think that its ok to invade my privacy and use my personal life against me they should atleast be working with all truth, not the lies, half truths, and people's personal opinions and projections they push onto me everyday

If this was not done to me, I would not be talking about either one of these men or any of my personal business because I am a very private person. My privacy has been violated and used against me in ways that are simply torturous and inhumane. Plus I respected their privacy, some of things I went through were only shared with people really close to me, such as having to file a DOMESTIC INCIDENT REPORT re an incident between WILFRED and myself where he verbally abused me and threatened to use my SSN for identity theft by fraudelently opening accounts up in my name, all because I disconnected the landline phone in the apartment we shared 6 months after I moved out because he did not transfer it over to his name, even though I gave him the info he needed to do so prior to me moving out. There are people in my circle, family members that never even knew about that because I was embarassed I was with a man who would say and do such things to me and embarassed for him / even protective of him to a certain extent because it was extreme and abusive and I am sure he would not want anyone to know those things that he wished upon me and the crimes he was going to commit against me in retaliation for me disconnecting a landline, not a good look for him at all.

Also, it's even weirder because he is the one who ended the engagement and wanted me to move out so I would think he would be happy to disentagle our lives as soon as possible, especially when it came to shared bills in the residence. Getting mad to that extent (telling me that if I died he would not attend my funeral, that he hated the ground I walked on, etc,) when he is the one who wanted me out and I obliged without much resistence. He told me he did not love me anymore and wanted to end our engagement and wanted me to move out in JANUARY 2007, BY FEBRUARY 2007 I MOVED INTO MY OWN APT, WITH HIS HELP I MIGHT ADD. His reaction to me disconnecting the landline in that apartment just makes him look quite nonsensical and emotionally unstable in light of the fact he ended things and forced me to move out even though he did not need any coaxing, prodding or poking. He was just being an ass and doing a lot of childish / disrespectful things to try to make the place we shared unwelcome and force me to move out (a la the wonderful, hilarious movie The Break-Up), however I was out in a month so he did not have to do any of that and teling me you are going to commit federal crimes against me, like is it that serious or do you have deep emotional issues, I beg to say the latter, based on my personal experiences and experiences I know that he has had with others.

I don't want to do this but I will to combat the secrecy, lies, and half truths. I have been HARASSED FOR GOING ON 8 YEARS NOW, everyone has a breaking point and it took me time to get here, basically when I realized these people will do any and everything to try to manipulate and control my life and try to break me and that they know what they are doing is wrong but won't stop doing it, they gave me no choice because sitting down doing nothing and going along to get along was not working either. They have a mission and its to destroy me, it was planned out many years ago, and they do not appear to be abandoning the plan, not even with me talking about it publicly. That speaks volumes, heavy law enforcement and government involvement obviously. What other entity would continue to do what they are doing even when its been exposed, not a bunch of morons the instigators of this harassment recruited to harass me daily, its the entities given them their instructions with swagger like we dont have to and won't stop because we are above the law because we are the law.

Even though I had dated another basketball player previously I don't follow basketball like that at all, I am not a sports person at all really. I never played sports and I don't really watch it, I especially dont watch team sports such as basketball, etc. I am not a groupy, I don't get geeked out over athletes or so called celebrities. I met multiple NBA PLAYERS and other celebrities in passing / just living my life (not for dating but just meeting people being in the proximity of people who are in proximity to these people because they are in and around the industry or just being in certain areas in NYC. I have seen so many celebrities just walking in the city) Most basketball players I have met / come in contact with were from my ex-fiance WILFRED (He also played basketball at a high level and worked at the NBA for many years). One NBA player I met / came in contact with through a friend of a friend. I have pictures with this NBA player who I met through my girlfriend who had the opportunity to meet him through her girlfriend. A group of us girls actually stayed at his house during a holiday weekend, he is a nice guy, Nothing was going on there except a bunch of young guys and girls hanging out having fun / living life (I had just graduated college and I was still a virgin at the time lol, so I surely wasn't a groupie of any kind) so I could care less about all that stuff, it does not impress me, these people are people like anyone else. I stand out because I am tall, slightly over 6ft, so naturally I attracted WILFRED and DEVIN partially because of my height, they are tall men who happen to play basketball. My height is something out of the norm I suppose so they were attracted to it, no surprise there.

So, I am not looking for attention, clout chasing or whatever other terminology people might use today to discredit and disregard my accounts. I am the opposite of an attention seeker and a very private person. These are just plain people and I am speaking my truth of my ongoing harassment and abuse that involves constant / repetitive references to these 2 individuals, others, as well as life events and circumstances. I am psychologically harassed by subliminal references to these 2 individuals the most out of anyone from my past life.

I endured so much disrespect and dehumanization for the 4 years I was employed at NYC DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, ironically now known as NYC DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AND WORKER PROTECTION. I had enough of coming to work everyday, doing my job and doing it well while being harassed all day by multiple people because of some sicko(s) from my past who I did nothing to and who should be locked up somewhere for the criminally insane, just so they won't do this to another human being. The damage has been done to me 100x over, people are going to continue to harm me because they believed lies / half truths told about me for so long that they have convinced themselves they are justified in harming me everyday. Also they have been told truths that are none of their business, not just the HIPAA violations, but other personal information about me simply to use for repetitive psychological attacks. They are simply ignorant / unintelligent and have convinced themselves they are justified in harming me everyday while attempting to preserve self because if they did not know initially, after me speaking on this they may now realize they have been baited / entrapped into engaging in CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, and are trying to protect their freedom by avoiding accountability from the various CIVIL and CRIMINAL OFFENSES THEY HAVE COMMITTED AGAINST ME most likely under the instruction of some corrupt law enforcement / government members of NYC and NYS staff and continue to reap the benefits they are receiving in exchange for their "HARASSMENT WORK."

I want to bring my focus back on DEVIN ELTON THOMPSON here. I wished DEVIN nothing but the best as I broke up with him and afterwards, during the time in which we remained acquaintances throughout the years, up to 2016, shortly after all of this stuff began happening to me.

Mind you, after we met in NYC in MAY 2010 he moved to El SALVADOR, CENTRAL AMERICA in JULY 2010; he never came back to the US to live, so the majority of the time we interacted with each other romantically as well as acquaintanceship-wise has been long distance. We spent about 3 weeks to a month total in each others physical presence, if you add up the actual hours /days.

Hmmm, so it’s been a little over five months since the ignominy that was Inhumans vs. X-Men # 6 was heaped upon us, Emma Frost fans.  If you need a refresher...here is my extended reflection on what I’ve since called the ‘Charles Soule’-ing of Emma Frost:

Fast forward a few months later during C2E2, a bevy of editors and Marvel big-wigs showcased this now released cover of Emma on X-Men Blue # 8...

...featuring a new costume that thankfully retcons that horrendous Judge Dredd number from IvX #6 out of existence while bringing Emma back to the color we all know and love for her.   The bigwigs also give us  assurances that Emma would be inhabiting more of a gray zone in this arc, one where she isn’t fully a hero or a villain.  

I was quite skeptical.  And OH BOY, would I have won big at the ‘y’all are gonna continue to ass-rape Emma’s characterization’ sweepstakes had such a thing existed. (Perhaps, it’s a weekly event in the Soule/Ketchum household?)    

So just how bad did it get?  Well...I guess it’s fine that we didn’t get any lower than we’ve been.  But it’s still super nasty when you have to tread water in a toxic, stinky sewer of character assassination hell.  

Emma’s appearances in X-Men Blue were bound and determined to continue down the rancid, unacceptable and utterly out of character, character- assassinating path began by Soule and Ketchum in IvX.  Emma here is presented as a heady misogynistic brew of Glenn Close from Fatal Attractions, the crazy ex-girlfriend, and a screeching harpy who just can’t seem to get over that one true love of her life.  As evidence and proof, I give you the following gems: 

How she finds the time to rule New Tian AND come up with ways to brainwash young Scott is beyond me. Absolutely nothing new is developed here, nor are we given anything but the most superficial glimpses into Emma’s psyche and why she is acting in this way.  The X-office is seemingly committed to wholly undermining Emma’s character development, all for the worst, worst reasons and for very little gain or story purpose.  This could have been any villain at all.  It didn’t have to be Emma.  

Well, at least she looks damned good while she’s being dragged through the mud:  

Though, surprisingly enough, everything didn’t suck for us Emma Frost fans in the last few months.  Mama Frost shines exquisitely in the non X-Men Secret Empire books in which she’s featured...even prompting a mention in one of those nifty comic book ‘journalism’ articles:

The attention and praise is well-deserved.  Here, we see Emma in her true element; a power player who looks out for mutants’ (writ large) interest in a strategic way.  

In Secret Empire: United (above), we see her appeasing Stevevil and Hydra all the while secretly undermining them by keeping a shard of the cosmic cube in her possession secret. As we’ve seen before, particularly during Osborn’s Dark Reign and the Utopia storyarc, Emma is at her best when she’s working within and with the short list of bad options she’s been given.  She made the only good deal she could to secure mutants’ safety and freedom, all the while working behind the scenes to ensure, as she so confidently and deliciously says, that...

A good story could have been told here, about the possibilities and limits of ‘resistance’ as exemplified by younger (and in my opinion far more irritating and annoying) teams like the O5 X-Men and the Champions versus the far more sobered, experienced and politically realistic approaches to tyranny that Emma Frost and say Black Widow exemplify.  More direct and IN YOUR FACE forms of resistance might be more satisfying and ‘hip’...but in the end these may just be useless and ultimately counterproductive when faced with such an all-encompassing and powerful foe like Hydra and Captain America.  In these instances, a far more subtler approach might be needed in order to gain victory.  But of course why would this kind of story be told?  NO THE POINT IS TO TORPEDO EMMA FROST AT ALL COSTS.   

It’s so extremely odd and sloppy that these two Emmas, the one appearing in the X-Books and the one who’s been positioned as a key player in Secret Empire, feel and read like two entirely different characters.  

In the X-Books, she’s depicted as an insane ex-girlfriend, seemingly not caring about anything but resurrecting her lost love in as creepy a manner as possible.  In the X-Books, all her actions (even creating New Tian?) are presented as being in the service of one ridiculous, pointless mission: bring back Scott.  In her appearances in Secret Empire and it’s related tie-ins (Brave New World, Captain America), she’s depicted as the Emma we’ve always known and love: strategic, cunning, always in control, and using all of her devious ways in the service of mutant kind.  One wonders where she even finds the time to worry about Scott when she has all this Machiavellian politicking to do.  

I’ve created a head-canon to explain this: perhaps, using her shard of the cube, Emma created another version of herself to keep the stupid O5 brats and Hydra distracted while she pursues her true goal of outmaneuvering Hydra.  She may have even transported Charles Soule and Daniel Ketchum in the MU to masquerade as her, since it seems to be just the two of them who really wants this depiction of Emma as an unhinged, jilted ex-lover to exist and continue. 

I’d like to be hopeful and believe that the brief glimpses of greatness we saw for Emma in Secret Empire will continue.  But, alas, with the event ending, I very much doubt that will be the case.  What does it say when other editorial departments write your own character 100x better than you...and with so little page count to work with to boot? It says you’re committed to a very particular and wrong-headed treatment of a character, so much so that the story-telling and franchise you’ve been entrusted with is suffering.  The X-Office is committed to this misogynistic, utterly misguided treatment of Emma, good story telling be damned; one that will continue with what I’m sure will be a ‘boost Jean Grey at all costs!’ appearance in Jean Grey # 8.  My only hope now is that these ResurrXion books tank like hell, forcing, hopefully, a course correction for what is now Marvel’s wayward X-Office.  I’m so glad that the Claremont die-hards have this last few months of being given a nostalgia blow-job...but please for the love of god, let this ass-rape of those of us with tastes that develop with time stop.
