5-day workshop on variable rate spraying technology development concludes Rawalpindi-Five-day hands-on training on Variable Rate Spraying Technology Development (Phase-I) under the PSDP funded project titled “Pilot Project for Data Driven Smart Decision Platform for Increased Agriculture Productivity (DDSDP)” ended at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on Monday.   The training workshop was organised with an aim to develop capacity building of young scientists, researchers, post-graduate students, industry and farmers on variable rate spraying technology development. This training will also provide an opportunity to develop consortium of researchers across the country for developing precision and digital agricultural technologies at farm level,  Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR, while addressing the participants said that a large population in the country is associated with the agriculture sector and there is dire need to develop modern precision and digital technology that will help in reduction in poverty and ensure the food for the ever-increasing population. Vice Chancellor emphasized linkages between academia, industry, and end users by equipping them with modern precision and digital technologies. He said PMAS-AAUR will provide every support for the capacity building of the human resources in the province and particularly in Potohar region.  The project Director of PSDP funded project of “DDSDP” Dr. Muhammad Naveed Tahir introduced the audience about the training workshop on variable rate technology (VRT). He said that VRT offers an opportunity to improve production efficiency by allowing input applications in amounts and locations where they are needed. The basic idea of VRT is to allocate agricultural inputs more efficiently by exploiting spatial variations in soil type, topographic features, fertility levels, and other field characteristics. Variable rate application includes GPS and GIS map-based, “on-the-go” sensor-based, or a combination of map and sensors. In recent years, real-time technology has been introduced into the practice of spraying variable weedicides, pesticides, and fungicides.  The training covered different technical and hands-on sessions for the trainees including VRT design development, sensor detail and features, assembling of the sensors, configuration and using Artificial Intelligence, and deep learning techniques for developing automated variable rate spraying technology. A field demonstration was also arranged for the participants. Resource Person Engr. Mr. Hassan Afzaal from University of Prince Edward Island, (UPEI) Canada, was invited as resource person in this training workshop. He trained the participants with great dedication and participants also showed great interest in learning advanced technology. CM CHAIRS 5th MEETING OF PPP POLICY AND MONITORING BOARD

LAHORE, November 13:

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired the 5th meeting of public-private partnership policy and monitoring board at his office and accorded approval to the dualization of 86-kilometres long Vehari-Multan road and 15-kilometre long Gujrat-Jalalpur Jattan road through public-private partnership mode. Rs.12 billion will be spent on the Vehari-Multan road project while Gujrat–Jalalpur Jattan road will be dualised with two billion rupees.

The secretary board and member PPP cell Dr Farrukh Naveed briefed about the public-private partnership based projects. The meeting was also briefed about the construction of ten 500-bedded general hospitals through the asian development bank.

The meeting allowed the Sialkot ring road project through PPP mode along-with up-gradation of Faisalabad-Jaranwala, Lundianwala road to expressway road with the facility of the service road as well as the commencement of six development projects through a public-private partnership. A flyover will also be constructed on the railway line in Jaranwala tehsil. The meeting endorsed the decision of the fourth meeting.

CM MESSAGE ON WORLD DIABETES DAY

LAHORE, November 13:

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said unhealthy lifestyles often result in the spread of diabetes and different complications are developed due to late diagnosis of the disease.

In a statement, the CM advised that a simplistic lifestyle ensures safety from diabetes. The people can also remain safe from diseases by following necessary precautionary measures, a daily walk and use of the balanced diet. He maintained that people should be educated about the observance of precautionary measures to remain safe from different diseases and to live a healthy life. The government is focusing on taking the necessary steps to provide the best healthcare facilities for the treatment of this disease. The diabetes centres have been established in major hospitals where necessary facilities are provided to the patients, he added.

Richard Nixon is starting back on the political trail this week after a period of mourning for the death of his mother, and he talks about his past and future now quite objectively—almost as if he were discussing the prospects of some other Presidential candidate.

Middle age seems to have been good to hipi. He has put on a little girth at 54 but taken on a good deal more philosophy. He is surrounded in his 24th floor office at 20 Broad Street by all the mementos of his travels and campaigns: behind his desk, photographs of the Queen of England, Haile Selassie, the Shah of Iran, Jawahar-lal Nehru, and many other world figures; behind his couch, pictures of Presidents Eisenhower and Hoover; on the walls, screens and spears from the Orient.

Why start on this long and agonizing journey again? Why do men do it? He begins talking about Clay and Bryan and Robert Taft, as if identifying himself with the disappointed losers of the past, then he says if he does run it won’t be because the outlook is pleasant.

A Gloomy Prophecy The campaign of ’68 will not be like ’64, when Goldwater could relax knowing he had little chance, or even like ’60, when the President was not on the ballot. The next four years will be the most difficult since the first Lincoln Administration: a time of convulsive transition, of unconventional danger at homeland even of possible explosion abroad.

Big Problems to Come He didn’t minimize the terrible problems of Roosevelt in the last war or Truman after the war. 'But between now and 1976 there would be great dangers with the Russians in the Middle East; China would by then have a substantial nucleac capacity, and there would le intractable problems with a *disunited Europe and all the struggling poor nations of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

He seemed happier now than when he was in Washington, so what was the compulsion to take all this on? He said he wasn’t sure. It wasn’t because he was at ease as a “back slapper.” He came to New York after his defeat in the Governor’s race in 1962 convinced he had run his last race. He certainly didn’t feel he was the only man available who could do the job. In fact, he doubted that any man was up to it. But events after ’62 had taken an astonishing turn: the death of Kennedy, the war in Vietnam, the vicious divisions within the Republican party after the defeat of ’64, and now the uncertainty within the party of who should lead next year.

He had no false humility, he said, and few illusions either. It sounded corny, he said, but he didn’t want to “be" somebody, but to “do something." Maybe he had a better perspective on himself now. He thought he was a better judge of people and he was certainly more tolerant of dissent. If the country was looking for somebody who thought he knew any easy answers to our problems, he wasn’t the man. He was fatalistic about the whole thing, and he wasn’t going- to trim or change his positions in order to get the nomination.

He was being advised, he said, by many friends and supporters to “take a more dovish position" on Vietnam to meet the mood of the moment, but he wasn’t going to do it Ike was telling him he looked too “fierce" on television and should go on more “light shows and smile more." Well, he would watch his make-up next time, maybe, he said, but he was not going to take television lessons or count on any personal or policy gimmicks.

Mr. Nixon said he was probably regarded as being on “the right" on civil rights and to the right of center in dealing with the Communists. He wasn’t saying "never” to trade with the Soviet Union “but whether and how." He thought of himself, he said, as being in “the center” of the domestic and foreign struggles, where most Americans were, and he believed he could mobilize the talents of the country and “make the center exciting.”

He would not say that the prospect of a long campaign through the primaries and the convention and thereafter wasn’t the sort of thing a family dreamed about, but "the girls are reconciled.” he said, being old enough now not to commit his wife. 

A Note of Caution Nor would he commit himself on whom he would support for the nomination if he didn't get it. Not even “off the record”—thereby proving that his new philosophy has not overwhelmed his political experience .We’ll see, he said. “It’ll be tough. In the primaries a batter’s average won’t be enough. I will nave to have a fielder’s average, and if I don’t get it, I’ll get out right away. I’m not going to be a spoiler.” 

He smiled. “Of course, I haven’t decided whether I’ll run.” This produced the biggest laugh of the morning. Seven years ago all this would have produced another of those stories about “the new Nixon." Now it doesn't, probably because for the first time it just  could be true.

The transparent process is being outlined below to remove confusions and misunderstandings

Phase 1: Screening of digital images to shortlist participants (done)

Phase 2: Selection of at least best 50 paintings (may be more) for the exhibition from those received by the gallery.

Phase 3: Choosing a maximum of 16 paintings from those selected for the exhibition

Phase 4: Selection of 4 paintings for the prizes through an objective scoring method from 16 paintings chosen in phase 3.

Corrupt investor Farooq Ghaffar Danawala imposes as Director Rangers, threatening publication house

Cliftonia Plaza breakthrough and the corruption associated with it became the most controversial topic for the allottees, which were unlawfully being sold the flats in crores. Moreover, the flats which were initially booked for 10 -15 lac in 1996 have now been escalated to hundreds of millions.

As soon as the news of corruption went viral, the reporters of Daily Jiddat and Brands Magazine associated with the news were threatened of dire consequences by alleged Director Rangers. However, the man who pretended to be the Director Rangers has now been found as Farooq Ghaffar Danawala. The accused constantly called the newspaper throughout the day and kept threating them through various sources, even offering money to keep quiet on the issue.

Mr. Danawala himself is the central investor in Cliftonia Plaza’s illegal reconstruction, which was found after Daily Jiddat contacted the law enforcing agencies regarding this issue. Danawala along with the cooperation of international terrorist Saif Ullah had been looting people since many years.

The flats which were initially meant to be sold for 10 – 15 lac were now being put up for crores due to the greed of builders, which were adamant on not selling them to the previous owners in original price. Moreover, with the help of Agha Masood Abbas and higher officers at Sindh Building Control Authority, the flats were being sold on extremely high prices.

Since the news regarding Cliftonia Plaza corruption was unearthed, 170 allottees contacted the publication house with more details regarding the incident and applauded them for raising this issue.

However, as soon as the issue became vocal, Agha Masood Abbas maintained his silence without clearing his stance on the money being illegally used for aiding terrorism and other projects. It is being stated that the builders of Cliftonia Plaza are in connection with Al-Qaida terrorist group, with the money being used for the same purposes. Thus, the news has caused quite uproar among the masses striving to fight against corruption in Karachi.

Affected allottees have requested PM Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa, DG ISI Naveed Mukhtar, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair Umer, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Core Commander Karachi, DG Rangers, and DG NAB to take action against these elements which are polluting the name of Rangers working day and night to rid Karachi of terrorism.

Daily Jiddat has also sought a legal action against those who are threatening the publication house by using the name of Rangers.

Zanib Naveed tốt nghiệp Đại học Pace năm 2011. Một năm sau, cô tham gia và giành chiến thắng tại cuộc thi Hoa hậu Pakistan Thế giới 2012 ở Toronto, Canada. Với danh hiệu này, Naveed tiếp tục đại diện Pakistan thi Hoa hậu Trái đất cùng năm.

Naveed cũng được biết đến vai trò giám đốc cuộc thi Miss and Mrs. Pakistan USA, nhà hoạt động xã hội và doanh nhân.

Bà Sonia Ahmed, giám đốc Hoa hậu Pakistan Thế giới, cho biết: "Chúng tôi đã trao cho Naveed cơ hội tuyệt vời để đại diện Pakistan trước quốc tế để rồi nghe về cái chết của cô ấy, đó là điều đau lòng của tất cả chúng tôi.

Naveed đã rất khó khăn để trở thành hoa hậu của một đất nước chưa từng có cuộc thi sắc đẹp nào trước đó như Pakistan. Không chỉ cô ấy mà tất cả người chiến thắng Hoa hậu Pakistan Thế giới đều mang trọng trách rất lớn khi khoác lên vai danh hiệu hoa hậu của một quốc gia Hồi giáo.

Đây là quãng thời gian khủng khiếp và tồi tệ. Chúng ta chỉ có thể hy vọng và cầu nguyện cho gia đình Naveed sớm vượt qua nỗi đau này".

Zanib Naveed thời điểm đăng quang Hoa hậu Pakistan Thế giới 2012.

Chồng Zanib, anh Ali-Haider Shah, viết lên trang cá nhân: "Dù anh đã gào thét tên em nhưng vẫn không thể tìm thấy em. Hãy trả lời anh, hãy trở về bên anh. Em không thể bỏ lại anh và thế giới này như thế".

Đám tang của Zanib được chồng và bố mẹ cô tổ chức ngày 4/12. Người hâm mộ nhan sắc ở Pakistan kêu gọi giúp đỡ gia đình Zanib trên trang GoFundMe và quyên góp được 20.000 USD.
