Wanted to introduce some JTHM ocs, specifically Noise, a Doughboy oc I adopted from @psycho-doughart I modified his design slightly (mostly added cracks on his body and the musical note symbol. Took me forever to get his story plotted out on paper.
Noise is the tiniest Doughboy but he is the loudest. Originally he was just a novelty salt shaker, made of porcelain. He is chipped in several places and no longer full of salt. He's filled with baby teeth, shiny pebbles and a Canadian dime, so when he moves he rattles.
Noise is a "fragment of a figment", slowly brought into animation with residual moose wall grime when Nny first broke into old man Juan's Casarez's trailer. He scribbled on the novelty Doughboy salt shaker with a sharpie marker out of spite. It took weeks for Juan to notice; he's not an observant man.
(Who is Juan Casarez and why is Nny stalking him/ breaking into his home will be explained later. Sorry, shift is starting soon.)
Unlike PSD and Mr. Eff, Noise is really not concerned with his fate or the fate of his target, which ends up Mr. Casarez. If he is collected, so be it. Until then, he's trying to wrap his skull around this whole concept of being conscious. Noise is curious and mischievous. He just wants to be heard.
Tumblr media
He quickly realizes the more he's heard, the "realer" and more independent he becomes.
And he will amplify as many noises as possible as loudly as it takes until he is heard. Eventually, he can amplify thoughts too. The negative, intrusive ones are the loudest.
Luckily for him, Juan not only has a deep fear of loud noises, especially loud, sudden noises like crashes, thunder, screams, explosions, ect but Juan is also prone to overstimulation meltdowns and continuously plagued with dread and anxiety.
Just amplifying ordinary background noises causes Juan torment, which breathes more and more life/ consciousness into Noise.
Thank you for the adopt!

Business By Faith Karimi and Jay Croft, CNNUpdated 1022 GMT (1822 HKT) September 26, 2018Chat with us in Facebook Messenger. Find out what’s happening in the world as it unfolds. (CNN)Minutes before a handcuffed Bill Cosby walked out of the courtroom as an 81-year-old convicted sex offender, he removed his dark pinstripe blazer and purple tie, and rolled up the sleeves on his crisp white shirt. Judge Steven O’Neill had just sentenced Cosby to three to 10 years in a state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand 14 years ago. It took more than a decade, two trials and dozens of accusers to seal his fate. After the sentencing, the judge took a break to consider the defense attorney’s request to free Cosby on bail during the appeal. As people waited for the judge’s bail decision in the hallway, where court officials had ushered them, the man once known as “America’s favorite father figure” sat with his attorneys and took off some of his clothes.About 20 minutes later, the judge returned and said bail was not appropriate. Sheriff’s deputies escorted Cosby out of the courtroom as he clutched a wooden cane with both hands. Looking straight ahead, Cosby walked down a hallway and disappeared behind doors — the final stages of a monthslong journey to state prison. “Mr Cosby, any comments sir?” a reporter asked. He did not say a word.’The day has come’During the sentencing, Cosby sat motionless in a courtroom packed with about 200 people. A man who once rubbed elbows with some of Hollywood’s biggest names only had attorneys and publicists with him in the courtroom. His wife, Camille, who’d stood by him throughout both trials, was nowhere to be seen. Neither were his children. Cosby declined to address the courtroom during the sentencing hearing, and sat rigidly as O’Neill explained why state prison is mandated.”This was a serious crime,” said O’Neill, a judge in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. “Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The day has come, the time has come.”Accuser’s statement was crucialGlancing toward Constand and her family, the judge said her impact statement was crucial in determining the sentence. Constand’s attorney put her arm around her shoulder as the judge handed down the sentence. Cosby remained expressionless when the judge read the sentence, and did not address the court during the sentencing hearing. “I do not need any more discussion on that,” he responded to a question on whether he’d say something. When O’Neill asked him if he understood that decision, Cosby answered, “yes.” O’Neill said he would not hold it against Cosby that he didn’t speak or testify.Judge revoked Cosby’s bailAfter the sentence, the defense blurted out a request for bail during the appeal process, citing a problem with the audio recording of phone calls recorded by Constand. O’Neill denied bail and in addition to years in prison, said Cosby will be classified as a “sexually violent predator,” which requires lifetime registration, lifetime mandatory counseling and community notification that a “sexually violent predator” lives in any area he moves to.As part of the sentence, the judge also ordered him to pay a fine of $25,000 plus the costs of prosecution. Cosby was booked into Montgomery County Correctional Facility and transferred to Pennsylvania’s State Correctional Institute at Phoenix on Tuesday evening.Though his three charges each carry a maximum possible sentence of 10 years, O’Neill said they were merged into one because they’re from the same incident. Cosby had remained out of prison for the past five months on $1 million bail, and his lawyers said they plan to appeal his convictions. From father figure to convicted sex offender Cosby gave Constand pills to incapacitate her and then sexually assaulted her in 2004. She told police about the incident in 2005, but prosecutors declined to press charges. They settled the case in civil court a year later.A decade later, dozens of women came forward to say Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them over his decades as a powerful actor and comedian.Constand’s case was the only one that was within the statute of limitations. A new team of prosecutors took up the case based on Constand’s and Cosby’s statements in a civil deposition, and arrested him in December 2015.A first criminal trial against Cosby ended in a hung jury. But in April, Cosby was convicted of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and assaulting Constand in the first high-profile celebrity criminal trial of the #MeToo era.Victims react to sentenceGloria Allred, who represents several women accusing Cosby of sexual assault, praised the sentence. Allred said Cosby showed no remorse, and justice had been elusive for other accusers barred from court by time limits imposed by the statute of limitationsBefore the sentencing, Constand wrote a five-page letter to the court explaining how Cosby’s assault — and the ensuing legal battle — had changed her life. As a Temple University employee, she looked up to Cosby, a Temple trustee, as a mentor and friend. He used that position of power and trust, as well as his public persona as television father figure Dr. Huxtable, to take advantage of her, she testified at trial.”Bill Cosby took my beautiful, healthy young spirit and crushed it. He robbed me of my health and vitality, my open nature and my trust in myself and others,” she wrote in the impact statement.O’Neill cited Constand’s statement as a big part of his decision to sentence Cosby to prison time. Bill Cosby’s attorney says he is worried about entertainer’s health
(CNN)Bill Cosby's defense lawyer says he is concerned about the entertainer's health following what he described as an "unfair" aggravated indecent assault trial that ended in a mistrial Saturday.
Prosecutors said Cosby, 79, drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand, the former director of operations for Temple University's women's basketball team, at his home near Philadelphia in January 2004. Cosby pleaded not guilty to the charges.
After more than six days of deliberation in Norristown, Pennsylvania, jurors were unable to come to a unanimous decision beyond a reasonable doubt.
In an exclusive interview with CNN's Jean Casarez, attorney Brian McMonagle said the jury's inability to reach a verdict made it clear the trial should end.
"It became a great concern of mine that these people had deliberated longer than the case had taken to try. Once people say they are deadlocked, then what really becomes the reason for further deliberations?" McMonagle said.
Constand first told police about the alleged assault in January 2005, a year after she says it took place. The district attorney at the time declined to press charges, citing insufficient evidence. She sued Cosby in a civil suit and settled for an undisclosed amount in 2006.
McMonagle said asking Cosby to surrender had been difficult.
"(It was) hard on him. When he got there, he had been awakened at home by us, told that he had to get here. He's blind, he's about 80 years old and my heart really broke for him that day. When we got there we didn't have security and people were diving on our cars. I've handled a lot of cases but I wasn't quite prepared for what I would see."
Cosby -- who is legally blind and carries a cane -- then had to endure a taxing trial, the attorney said.
"I have been greatly concerned for his health, I don't know if I can survive what he survived this week," he said. "It was difficult for me, and I have no idea how he managed to sit in a room and endure while strangers were deciding his destiny and his fate."
But the entertainer had kept positive, McMonagle said.
"During some of the most painfully, aggravating parts of our trial, particularly jury deliberations it was he who was keeping us going," he said. "Telling us stories, telling us jokes, making us smile."
Family shielded
McMonagle said he respected Cosby's efforts to keep his family out of the courtroom spotlight.
"I see people using their family as shields in criminal cases. He refused to do that. He refused to put them in the position of coming to court every day and being exposed to the circus-like atmosphere. He was not going to use his family as shield -- that's not who he is-- and I respect him for that."
Cosby had previously admitted to having an affair, McMonagle said, but that was not what he had been on trial for.
Hollywood reacts to Bill Cosby mistrial
"As I said before, on and on, in the deposition about the carrying-ons that he was involved in the 70s. I said to this jury 'listen, we don't run from the fact that this is a man who by his own admission danced outside his marriage'."
After the judge declared a mistrial Saturday, prosecutors immediately announced they would retry the case. The judge said he would try to schedule a new trial within 120 days.
McMonagle said it was up to Cosby whether he would represent him in court again.
"If Mr. Cosby asks me and he wants me to go to back and do battle for him again, then I'll be there."

Mr. Casarez "I'm sure you’re right about him. He isn't "bad", just really unwell. I'm sure most of the time he's a really great friend to you.
But other times, like right now, he puts you in harm's way. That's NOT an ok thing to do, especially to a child. He needs help. Professional help. He needs to seek it out himself. It's not your responsibility. You can't fix him. You can only try so hard for song long before you start to break down. And you will. It's not fun.
Tumblr media
He's family. He's important to you. I understand. I'm not trying to tell you to stop loving him or stop thinking of him as a brother. But keep in mind, the part of him that can-- that would and will hurt you is VERY much in there alongside the good in him. You NEED to start thinking about your safety first--
Tumblr media
Because if he cared about your well-being anywhere near as much as you cared about his, you wouldn't be standing here right now having this conversation with me."

Mr. Casarez "Did your woman just dump you or are you always a sad lonely sack? Only a man who is sad and lonely would treat a little girl like that. Pathetic."
Nny "Oh. You're hard at hearing. MIND YOUR OWN--!"

Bad drawings are bad, but it's been a long morning after a long shift, so I'm using these.

Mr. Casarez (in a breathless gasp) "Ghhhk!

Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. Is everything ok? It's really late for a child to play outside alone...or really early...? What time is it? Um-- Do- um-- do you live in the trailer park? I don’t recognize you, but I haven’t lived here very long and I have face blindness."

Mr. Casarez "Oh... Esto no está bien. Well, I got paid last night. I could call you a cab. Do you know your address?"

Squee "Oh. Ok..."

Nny *terrified screams*

Tried to throw in some humor this time around with the big reveal of Mr. Casarez's "Wife". Hopefully someone gets a little laugh out of this. (ripped off a line from the Great North too)
Had no idea how to draw a blue macaw in JV's style, so I just drew her.
Poor Mr. Casarez. Such a sad, weird little guy, but he means well.

Bad art is bad, forgive me. But, it's either do it badly or not at all with this one. Excited for the next few pages, even though they get a little sad/ violent/ dark. Have to move on to other wips. Thank you for the likes and reblogs!
Just found out a friend of mine/ her wife was jumped/ beaten during an attempt on a home invasion. (Both are ok, but badly bruised up) I was at home drawing this roughly the time they were being assaulted.
This isn't the first time something like this happened; life mirroring something I drew in a comic. I don't believe in curses, but that's really weird. Very upsetting.

Tried to trace over this week's breakroom sketches in pen as a warm up/ skill refresher. Thought it would look better. Thought wrong lol.
There is no consistency in the layout of Mr. C'S trailer. Drew a crude map of the layout. Misplaced the notes. Winged it. Found the notes.
Yes, I did rip off a Bojack Horseman line, but that line, among dozens of others really spoke to me. The wisdom the line carries just bled in. Another mostly dialogue page. The next one is weighted with dialogue too, but I want to throw in some flash back scenes. Shake things up a little. Trying to go somewhere with this.
And hugs, good vibes and/ or 🤘to everyone reading this. ]

Mr. Casarez "No no no no no, he isn’t going anywhere with you."
Nny "The Hell he isn’t!"
Mr. Casarez "The boy trusts you, but I don't.
Tumblr media
"GO ALREADY! I-I need to do the right thing. I'm calling my social worker."
Squee "No! Please, don't-"
Tumblr media
Squee "DUDE! Come on!"
Nny "RUN!"
Tumblr media
Squee "I'M SORRY, JUAN!"
Mr. Casarez *groaning in pain*
*bird squawking*
Mr. Casarez "Estoy llegando, hermosa."
Squee "That was so shitty!"
Nny "He's a tough old buzzard. He'll get up!"

The end. Rather anticlimactic, but it feels good to finish a story from beginning to end for once.
Poor Mr. C. He has no padding to cushion his fall.
Can't thank everyone enough for the likes, reblogs and comments. It's not a masterpiece art-wise... or writing-wise, and not the cup of tea for most jthm fans but it's the kind of story I rarely find in the fandom. Going through a lot of shit (who isn't?) The encouragement and feedback means the world.
Is this worth an epilog or should it just play out in my head?

Trigger warning ahead for child abuse, spousal abuse and violence.

Mr. Casarez "When you love someone, you try to focus on the good inside.
You overlook the bad.
Tumblr media
You put them ahead of yourself.
You make excuses.
Tumblr media
You convince yourself you deserve the mistreatment.
Tumblr media
You tell yourself OVER and OVER, "If I keep doing and saying the right things, if I tiptoe around them just right when they're behaving their worst,
The bad in them will slowly fade away and what's left will be the good them. They'll finally be the friend and loved one I need them to be."
But that's not how it works."

Should have written the flashback speech bubbles in Spanish. Just wanted to scribble this out in one shot.
I deeply apologize if this hits close to home for anyone.
Should have established, this story takes place 2001-2002 -ish.
Young Mr C! He was one of them long haired, freaky people the sign tries to keep out. Guys with long hair rule, just to throw out my all -too- correct opinion :D
Yes, Juan was a young teen father/ husband. And yes, he walked with a cane at 15 (started to a few years before. Didn't have time for that flashback) The composition is screwy, but that is a cane, just not the cool buzzard head cane he carries now.
I also apologize for the cliche weapon of choice. Senior Casarez was normally more inventive with his killing methods, but that was a spur of the moment murder fueled by heartbreak and jealousy, not for the usual morbid thrill. He just picked up the first instrument in his toolshed capableof doing the job.]

Mr. Casarez "I know you need to work on yourself."
Nny "Well, I don't need THIS. There's another Crazy Taco 20 minutes from here. Nothing about this is worth it to me. Have a good night, sir. Die slowly."
Mr. Casarez "Get HELP while you're still young!"
Nny "ENOUGH."
... What just happened? WHO WAS THAT?
Nny "WHY ARE YOU AUTOMATICALLY TAKING HIS SIDE??"
Squee "I've been in line with you at Crazy Taco, man. The last time we went you banshee screamed at the family in front of us for ordering mild sauce."*
Nny "Mild sauce is a product of colonization! No one who orders mild sauce should continue to walk and breathe!"*
[*I ripped off that line from Tuca and Berdie
*not to be taken seriously. It's Nny logic
So ends the flashback, back to the present.
Page 7???
I'm just going to call this the pervious page because I think I screwed up on numbering the pages somewhere along the line of posting. I'm really only posting a few panels at a clip. I should call these strips, not pages.
This is what happens when you chip away at a comic outline on lunches and 15. ><
Thank you anyone who has liked/ reblogged or commented so far. This is purely a stress release, so I wasn't really expecting much positive feed back. Always happy to hear anyone's thoughts.]
