realized i didn’t post art for like a year and a half so i’m finding old stuff to post now. my motw campaign has been over for ages now. but for a whole we were stuck in a time loop of the moments before the end of the world so that was awesome

motw tomorrow. i want to bring back the posting era.
#pulling directly from my dms w hannah bc i’ve been on this for a while#but one of the hardest things and things that make me most anxious about playing cedar is trying to make sure she doesn’t come across as#a joke or as totally off-the-walls with her reactions to people/situations. or like inconsistency w what she says or does in a way#that doesn’t come across as a deliberate character choice. and i definitely don’t want her to feel stagnant#like. she’s been pretty bratty and unwelcoming to jessamine and even a little bit sam! who was one of her best friends#and has certainly also lashed out even within her new group of friends/allies (parch and the creature in very dif ways esp 😭)#so when hannah was like ‘should jessamine be worse?’ worried that making someone cedar’s so pissed with seem like. kind of fine. is shitty#but the thing is i think cedar is uh#she has a lot of rage and unpacked trauma from the shit w the red riders that she doesn’t know what to do with#which has totally fucked w her ability to analyze the situation and relationships she had and has formed so she#doesn’t know how to feel and therefore act towards them?#which. maybe ooc is an annoying character choice for me to make but.#she sure can’t form a clear internal stance on Any of the people she used to love and trust more than anyone!#and like. everyone else doesn’t really care if isaiah dies and she doesn’t KNOW how she feels about him but#she’s stuck wavering between being viciously angry at isaiah & still being so upset that she can't even talk about what's happening to him#so. this next session or two is certainly going to push to SOME sort of breaking point!#and then of course there’s all our agonies. but that’s for a separate post.#motwinchester#cedar

so you've heard of the crop stage play, but consider. the motwinchester tv show
#had the idea during this session that if it was a tv show there would be a flashback episode about yaz's grandparents in the summer of '57#and THEN i started thinking about how the tv show would actually work#and how it would probably start earlier in universe than we did in game with parch's arrival in winchester#and how the mid-season finale would be the episode where cedar arrives#because you need that audience insert character to introduce you to the the world!#and how both the house and winchester bay itself would be characters#and how it would be painfully obvious will is a werewolf but it wouldn't be 'revealed' in show until parch finds out#and in the first ep playing on the news in parch's new house there would be discussion of those wolf attacks again! so common around here!#and how everything would be centered around yaz because she is leading all of these characters through everything#and there would be the end of episode scene of the stranger killing that person in the laundromat#but there would also be flashes of people's shadows being kinda weird!#and an end of ep scene where mike ross (random character at this point) acting really weird#will would get a flashback ep and so would cedar#i think yaz would too or at least one focusing on her family as legacy monster hunters in juxtaposition to cedar's upbringing#oh maybe they're the SAME ep#i think we could do supernatural better triumph emoji#and i'm having a lot of fun#g: motw

games i currently play in:
MEGadungeon (#c:megadungeon): A voice fifth edition dungeon crawl/political intrigue game about seeking out treasure and knowledge in the massive ruins of a fallen empire. I play Salvador Romero (#cha:salvador), a human spirits bard (6), Alessi di Nicolo (#cha:alessi), a human order cleric (6), and Marigold Glenfellow Dell’Emarginato (#cha:marigold), a human inquisitive rogue (3). Until she was frozen in amber, I played Arcis Petrova (#cha:arcis), a human abjuration wizard (6).
Colossus (#c:colossus): A voice fifth edition game set in a world where societies live on the backs of massive creatures. I play Charisma Dorata (#cha:charisma), a protector aasimar creation bard (6).
Deck of Many Things (#c:domt): A play-by-post fifth edition game about the struggle to escape a massive demiplanar museum, often by drawing cards from the deck of many things. I play Jessamine (#cha:jess), a scourge aasimar hexblade warlock (14)/shadow sorcerer (1)/fighter (1).
Faeme (#c:faeme): A voice fifth edition game about people who were exiled from the Feywild for various crimes finding (and keeping) their way home after 300 years. I play Rowan Caerdonel (#cha:rowan), a half-elf celestial warlock (7).
Library (#c:library): A play-by-post fifth edition dungeon crawl game about protecting the multi-planar Library of Magic from an ancient threat. I play Kara Daradir (#cha:kara), an eladrin cobalt soul monk (13).

Rime of the Frostmaiden (#c:rotf): A fifth edition game using the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden module. Party is a rune knight fighter, a lore bard, a stars druid, a champion fighter, and a tempest cleric (7).
past games:
CROP (#c:crop): A play-by-post fifth edition political intrigue game set in a world of plants. I played Cerise (#cha:cerise), a cherry tree divine soul sorcerer (6). Until she sacrificed herself to slow the approaching army, I played Archmage Sparrow Citrion (#cha:sparrow), an asparagus conjuration wizard (4).
Ship of Fools (#c:sof): A fifth edition actual play podcast about power and freedom and seagulls set in a vast, magical ocean. Party is an ancients paladin, a draconic bloodline sorcerer/barbarian, and a fathomless warlock (14). We’ve finished playing, but you can still find us wherever you get your podcasts or over on @shipoffoolscast !
MOTWinchester (#c:motw): A Monster of the Week game set in the little seaside town of Winchester Bay, Oregon, which is unusually prone to supernatural activity. Party is a Chosen, a Monstrous (werewolf), a Wronged, and a Mundane. I GMed this one.
Elantris (#c:elantris): A fifth edition play-by-post game about a group of heroes waking from a Sequester to discover that they were no longer able to rest and only had the resources they had to deafeat the Lich and save the world. I played Alissaya Lightbearer (#cha:liss), a human life cleric (13).
Dwendalia (#c:empire): A voice fifth edition game set in Wildemount about a group of misfits who find themselves caught between the wills of gods, demigods, powerful crime organizations, kingdoms, devils, and secret societies. I played Elodie Mayflower (#cha:elodie), a halfling unity cleric (7).
Magic Sword (#c:magic sword): A fifth edition voice game about a girl chosen by a magical sword and destined to wield it to kill the tyrannical King, aided by three powerful Guides and an Anchor who tied the life force of the Guides to the material plane so they could return when they died. I played Alita Nikolaev (#cha:alita), a human valor bard (9) and Chosen who was killed in the final battle against the king but whose sacrifice allowed her companions to kill the king and give the people a chance to build a new world.
Seekers of the Ashen Crown (#c:4e): A voice fourth edition dungeon crawl game. We TPKed and the Big City Big Soup Cooking Competition is soooooo cancelled. I played Nova (#cha:nova), a deva wrath invoker (2).
Xhorhas (#c:xhorhas): A fifth edition voice game set in Wildemount about an elite squad of mercenaries hired by the Xhorhasian Dynasty’s military to run some very dangerous errands as war was breaking out, which is currently officially on hiatus. I play Bird (#cha:bird), an air genasi gloomstalker ranger (5)/scout rogue (3).
and several others, but these three are the ones you’re most likely to see me talk about here still.

my motw game just hit our one year anniversary, so i drew a map of our town the celebrate!

literally Cannot stop thinking about yaz killing fenrir 🤕
#as he charged the house!#just. still barely inside the house. stepping out just enough to do 10 harm! to kill him!#leading a group that was meant to test the house and he got Killed for it. god.#it was such a Delightful character moment of. where is the line#and just the. element of needing to Prove to them that she’ll do it.#this is her House these are her People she Will kill for them.#and like. don’t get me wrong cedar did SO much of the harm#but. on the sword still moving forward with moment for a minute. 😬😬😬#man. man. man. it’s INSANE.#beck was There riley was There they. god. #i really really love our guys…#i never manage to play yaz Quite as she should be with family. but it’s was SUCH a delight for yolanda to show up 🥺#i just love playin yaz she loves people So Much…..#and despite everything she feels so Helpless against things….#got overwhelmed and distracted looking at kitchens in the middle of this. yaz LOVES people and they r in the HOSUE❣️ and she loves the HOUSE#and also she was able to take that bite and be okay :)#anyways. don’t think i have more to say i just really love these guys 🥺#motwinchester

yaz post 🚨 man i really really think. fuck dude she sure is the product of Generations

just got Ridiculously upset thinking about how much yaz would Love to have a home that is busy and full and bursting with noise and music and life but it’s. she’ll never Really be able to have that headinhands
