Wait, I thought that "Monotone Princess" based its design of the Manga/Noah and not the other way around? Thought it would be weird if one would reuse non-canon video game designs for official media but maybe I'm ignorant, it sounds interesting if true

I thought it was that Grimoire from Monotone Princess came first, then Ohkubo reused Grimoire's design for Noah in the manga.

I don't have sources to back up all of my understanding, but I can make an educated guess based on dates of release.

Monotone Princess came out September 25, 2008.

The first time we see Noah's design in the manga is in Chapter 52; I don't know when that chapter came out, but it was collected in Volume 13, which came out in Japan on October 22, 2008.

The two dates are close enough to each other, and video game design work probably would take longer than a manga chapter.

This does not preclude the notion that Ohkubo had the design in mind for Noah first intending to use it whenever he got to Chapter 52, then the video game was planned, so he gave the designer the Noah design for Grimoire.

However, based on this evidence, I tend to think it's more likely Grimoire was designed first for the game, the game took however long it takes to design, develop, and program, then Ohkubo re-used the design when he got to introduce Noah in person in the manga.

Trying to play through all the Soul Eater games for the iceberg, and man I dunno how "gamers" can stand shit like "uuups, you lost to the boss, so go replay the whole repetetive level too!"

Like I suck at video games yet I know this monotone princess shit is easy, but having to redo this generic beat-em up gameplay just so I can fight somen "Man in the iron mask" dude is the opposite of fun.

Shit, games like Hotline Miami are way harder but they make replaying parts painless, this just makes me wanna quit.

Guess the real "Monotone princess" was me getting bored and bitching bout first world problems like video games not being fun enough🤔😂
