This is a really good question for Eurydice because as cocky as she is now she used to be so much worse. She was raised in a family of Harpers in a druidic circle in the middle of the forests of the Dalelands, and didn't venture far from there as a child. She primarily interacted with adults and heard constant praise about how smart and great she was. She moved to Cormyr and studied to become a bard as a young adult, where she was top of her class and regarded as incredibly promising: that did nothing to quell her ego.

She spent some time as an adventurer racking up hero points, until she received an urgent summons back home: the pool of radiance being guarded by her family was under attack (a pool of radiance is raw liquid weave). She ended up having to jump in the pool to stop it being used for an evil ritual, which resulted in her being sucked into the weave for nearly a century (though to her it only felt like a very painful minute). This was an aggressively humbling experience: she became imbued with wild magic, and became frozen in time at the moment she entered the pool. She simultaneously had to relearn how to use magic while also relying on it to keep herself alive, her body having lost all natural healing abilities. To make matters worse, she was being hunted for the rare magic she possessed, and it no longer became safe for her to stay in one place. She has to remain anonymous now, drifting from town to town and making up a different false identity for each person she meets, making herself untraceable. Needless to say no more fame and glory for her. She's still pretty cocky, but like most things with her it's a lot of smoke and mirrors: she's painfully aware that she isn't too good to have anything bad happen to her.

The facility was clean, all stainless steel and glass. Hard, sharp surfaces thatt could be easily cleaned and nobody would be aware of the horrors that took place within.

The agents weren’t expecting to find anything there either, it had been days since the last of the agents had been rounded up and sent to be processed, to see if there were any crimes they could be prosecuted for beyond money laundering and bribery. This was the last facility to be inspected and closed down, the others had yielded nothing, the notes and specimens destroyed before anyone arrived so there was nothing that could be used as evidence.

They were about to give up on this one too, a small lab compared to the others, though suspiciously more high-tech, until they heard a soft noise from one of the containment units. It was quiet, only audible since the walls around easily carried echoes. One of the men approached, gun raised as he called out, beckoning the others forward too until they had the unit surrounded before it was opened.

The stench of rotting flesh hit them first, only slightly mollfied by the unpleasant acidic zing of ectoplasm as the creature groaned again, turning bright green though glassy eyes on them before the light faded and it went still, one of the agents losing the contents of his stomach at the sight of the incredibly maimed, humanoid and apparently still somehow sentient creature. The medical team entered, removing the creature and taking them to a holding facility where they were identified as a ghost and placed in a form of stasis, holding them while the higher-ups decided what to do with them. Even in stasis the injuries seemed to be attempting to heal, the Y-shaped incision on his chest which had been previously stitched was seeming to knit itself together, the cuts and bruises fading, though most of their skin was already marred with similar healed or healing wounds, many clean and most likely inflicted on purpose, there was no telling what their mind would be like when they regained consciousness after what was clearly a length of prolonged torture. As a non-living entity they weren’t claimed by any government so they were simply sent to a further facility for monitoring, but of course they would need someone to keep an eye on their recovery.

It definitely wasn’t you who caused arguments. You were asking a good question. :)

That your mom considers herself part or half Jewish is a completely valid self-identification. Some people who were raised in an interfaith family identify themselves as being half (or quarter or what have you) Jewish. While that’s a valid self-identity, not all Jews who were raised in an interfaith family accept that as a label.

In other words, if someone identifies THEMSELVES as being half Jewish then respect their self-identity. Don’t argue with them. But don’t go around labelling people that way UNLESS you know for a fact that they themselves identify that way.

I'm genuinely amazed by the number of people I've seen who were shocked, SHOCKED, that Ascended Astarion is a bad ending. And disappointed that he's kinda mean to you.

... have you just not been paying attention? The entire game explores the idea of how sometimes what you want is bad. Multiple characters want things that are not going to end well for them, and you can steer them toward a better path.

Does it suck that Astarion has to give up walking in the sun? Sure. But it's better than him becoming everything he hated.

whoops I kept forgetting to respond to this since I saw it in the middle of the night and didn't want to post it when most people were asleep

Pronouns are still he/him. Only thing I don't like is masculine terms like man, sir, gentleman, son, etc. Gender neutral alternatives are best but if there are none I'd rather the female ones.
