Week 12 - My First Design My first concept of my original theme was really tricky to create, as my mind was thinking and looking for all these awesome design, but couldn't decide which one I liked. When creating this product, I wasn't really confident with the outcome, as I felt it was too busy and too much going on. However, after the feedback I got from my class mates I understood what I needed to create and what theme would suit me when creating a product in such a short diedline. I felt the first design didn't really say anything about chocolate. MKCC is aimed at the young adult chocolate connisseur. I am a great believer in designing products that break the mould. The picture provides a temptation between the chocolate and the buyer. The colour scheme of red and yellow was chosen as a well to advertise the fiery hot chilli and the vintage noir design. The tattoo women holding the chocolate bar symbolises the desirable nature of the forbidden. Complexity bias is a logical fallacy that leads us to give undue credence to complex concepts. Faced with two competing hypotheses, we are likely to hoose the most complex one. That’s usually the option with the most assumptions and regressions. As a result, when we need to solve a problem we may ignore simple solutions — thinking “that will never work” — and instead favor complex ones. As a designer it’s easy to get stuck in a rut and keep reusing the same design solutions over and over. But the right solution for one project made be wrong for another. I discovered to step back from my design and questioned myself to creating something less complicated but good looking at the same time
