From the DDT archives(?): not actually DDT, GanPro this time. Sakaguchi just has to give Okatani the signal and he jumps Ohka like an attack dog.

The Second Gear Crew (1 Called Manders, Effy, & Mance Warner) vs Chris Brookes, Mizuki Watase, and Shunma Katsumata
Chris and Effy lock up, which Brookes got the better of, quickly picking Effy’s arm and twisting it into a wrist lock, before using that to transition into a rear waist lock. Effy twisted himself around, though, and trapped Brookes in a headlock, which Brookes managed to break free of and take Effy down, planting his into the mat and quickly rolling from the waist lock to a front headlock, which Effy quickly countered by reaching his long legs up and wrapping them around Brookes’s head, pulling him into a headscissor before Brookes managed to pull himself up into a headstand, and then use that to flip over onto Effy, breaking the headscissor and lock the headlock back in. Brookes wrenched down on Effy’s head, but he managed to twist himself around and start to find a way back to his feet, lifting Brookes up with his and trying to gain wrist control, managing to do so and trying to hit Brookes early with a Big Boot, but Brookes drops down underneath, dodging it, before slipping behind Effy, and blasting his but a clubbing blow to the back!
Chris drags Effy over to his team’s corner and makes the tag to Mizuki Watase. Mizuki was quick to slip behind Effy and take him down, trapping him in a waist lock, before transitioning that to a body scissors, putting as much pressure as he could on Effy ribs. Effy grabbed at Mizuki’s knees to try and lessen the pressure, before starting to roll over and pick at Mizuki’s ankles, managing to release himself from the hold, before rolling over and trapping Mizuki in a headlock. Effy rolled the headlock over into a position where he had more leverage and he could apply more pressure on Mizuki, before then rolling over and trying to pick Mizuki’s arm for some sort of armbar. Mizuki rolled through to escape, however, and managed to pick Effy’s arm instead, wrenching on it for a moment, before holding onto the arm, standing back up, and catching Effy with a sharp kick right to the chest. The thud of Mizuki’s foot catching Effy’s right in the chest echoed throughout the building, and Effy was clearly in a lot of pain, just from that kick alone. Mizuki caught him with another kick, before pulling Effy up and slamming him into the mat with a brutal looking Saito Suplex!
Mizuki dragged Effy over to his teams corner and tagged Katsumata, keeping a grip on Effy as Katsumata got into the ring. Mizuki caught Effy with anothis kick to the chest, and when Effy hunched over to grab at his chest, Katsumata swung his leg down and connected with an axe kick to the back of the head and neck! Mizuki exited the ring, and Katsumata rolled Effy over for the cover!
1….2… Kickout!
Effy manages to kick out! Katsumata wraps up Effy’s leg, putting pressure on it, as he leans over and tags in Chris Brookes. Chris gets in the ring and measures, before he kicks at the leg of Effy that Katsumata has tied up, causing Effy a great deal of pain! Effy grits his teeth as Chris grabs his leg, and begins to twist at it. Suddenly, though, Effy reaches his leg up and swings it, catching Chris Brookes on the jaw, managing to cause him to stumble backward, and creating enough separation to crawl to his corner and make the tag to Manders. Manders get into the ring and goes right after Chris, lifting him up and driving him into the corner with a stiff shoulder, before lifting Chris up and biel throwing him across the ring in a great show of strength! Cover by Manders!
1….2… Kickout!
Kickout at two by Chris Brookes. Manders tries to pick Chris Brookes back up, but before he can, he’s suddenly accosted by both Mizuki Watase and Shunma Katsumata getting in the ring and going after Manders, and Mance Warner gets into the ring to even the odds! It looks like we’ve broken down here tonight!  Mancer on Watase, while Katsumata and Manders traded blows back and forth as well. Both teams deciding this match was best fought as a slug fest! Katsumata and Manders ditch the fists and decide to just start head butting one another, and over on the other side of the ring, Watase catches one of Mance’s punches and instead jumps up onto Mance, trapping his arm in a Kimura and trying to snap it! Watase was known as The Bone Collector for a reason, and if Mance didn’t find a way out of this one fast, he’d be down a limb! You’d have to imagine that if Mizuki broke Mance’s arm, referee Tom Dunn would call an end to this one, because we know Mance is too tough to tap
Katsumata and Manders continued to headbutt one another until they both collapsed, and Mance drove Watase’s back right into the steel guardrail of the ring, forcing Mizuki off of him, causing Mance to stumble away, clutching his arm, and dropping down to his knees, flexing his fingers to do his best to restore some feeling in his arm. Mance got up and grabbed a chair, before whipping it right at Mizuki’s head, connecting flush and knocking Watase to the floor! Mance stumbles over and picks up his tag team partner, before handing Manders a chair as well, which Manders uses as a temporary crutch to help get himself back up to his feet, before he sets the chair up in the middle of the ring. Mance grabs three more chairs, and sets them up, two across from two, him and Manders taking their seats as Mizuki and Katsumata crawled over to join them. It looks like here in the ring we were about to get a good old fashioned bar fight, between two teams of some of the heaviest strikers in pro wrestling!
Once Mizuki and Katsumata took their seats, they were invited to take the first swing, and they made the most of it, Mizuki crushing Manders with a stiff forearm, and Katsumata nearly knocking Mance out of his chair with a stiff right! Mance and Manders recovered, before firing back, both electing to go with a right hand to answer back with. Back and forth these two teams swung at each other, each time nearly knocking one another’s heads off, each team trying to gain an advantage! Until it came to Team DDT’s turn once again, and instead of their standard strikes, Mizuki leaped out of his chair and knocked Mance Warner out of his with a diving forearm! Manders was surprised, and did his best to brace himself for what was coming to him, but he was absolutely rocked as Mizuki went low, taking out the legs of the chair, and Katsumata went high, toppling Manders out of the chair with a modification of Total Elimination! Team DDT go for a simultaneous cover on Mance and Manders!
1….2…. kickout!
Mance Warner and Manders both kick out, keeping themselves in the fight for the time being, but Mizuki and Katsumata seemed hell bent on trying to put an end to that, as they both hop onto their opponents and lock in a pair of Rear Naked Chokes, trying to knock the Second Gear Crew unconscious! If Mance and Manders passed out, the ref would have to call this fight over!
Ol’ Mancer and Manders both tried to pry their opponents arms from around their throats, but they were both fading quickly! Eventually abandoning that plan, instead both Mance and Manders fight their way up to their feet, with Mizuki and Katsumata still on their backs, choking the lights out of them. Mance and Manders both then spot two doors propped up against the barricade on the outside, before both of them decide to charge at them, backs first, putting both themselves and their opponents through the doors, managing to break the holds! The doors practically exploded, and Mizuki and Katsumata clearly got the worst of the impact!
Mance and Manders both get back to their feet, as Manders grabs Katsumata as well, lifting him up and slamming him down onto Mizuki with a brutal looking Gutwrench Powerbomb! Manders looks to follow it up by hitting the ropes, and crashing down on both members of Team DDT! Katsumata rolls off, and Manders covers Mizuki!
1…2…3!
“Here are your winners, The Second Gear Crew!”
The Second Gear Crew is victorious!

I’ve never seen an intergender match, where women and men wrestle together, live: WWE keeps its matches segregated and New Japan doesn’t have women’s wrestling. In general principle I’m in favor of it--in a world where Rey Mysterio has beaten Brock Lesnar in a title match, I find the arguments that it’s “unrealistic” that a woman could beat a man absurd. I’m slightly more sympathetic to the argument that watching an audience cheer for a woman to be beaten by a man is unpleasant, but--I don’t know, a lot of my favorite male wrestlers (El Generico, Kevin Steen, Johnny Gargano, Kenny Omega, Cesaro) have fought intergender matches, and I think if called correctly, with good storytelling and psychology, the audience is unlikely to cheer for woman-beating just for the fun of it. It can be tricky, of course. There are a lot of angles to consider.
I’m still wondering what I think about intergender wrestling when the bell rings and I discover what I feel about intergender wrestling.

So, here we have some incredible promo shots from the upcoming DNA play. The more I see from this, the more I think this theatrical production starring DDT’s baby wrestlers is just going to be a true work of art on many levels. (x)
