Arcane HCs !modern au! Tiktok star jinx x TikTok star y/n
CW: slight obsession, emo y/n, TikTok (all that stuff), fluff, excessive catcalling,
Pronouns: gender neutral y/n
A/N: felt bad for taking so long with posting part two to my vampire jinx fic. The delay is due to a combination of me being a procrastinator and me not fully sure of how to write it. So don't worry it's coming it just may be a bit, but I'll post it as soon as possible. So here's some headcanons of jinx being a TikTok star and being in love with a random emo.
Jinx was shocked at how popular she became on tiktok
She literally just got bored one day and was scrolling through it
Decided to do a random trend she thought was cool. A dance to some song she liked.
She always loved dancing but never made it obvious
She thought it was fun so she did a few more
She went to bed that night to wake up the next morning (if you consider 4:30 the next morning) to see she'd blown up overnight.
Ever since shes loved doing TikToks purely for the odd rush that came with all the approval
She'd do all kinds of things, dancing to music, showing off outfits of different aesthetics, or just random funny clips she recorded. She even showed off some graffiti art.
In a few days she'd become a legend. Making chaotic videos of her causing mischief and being a menace to her sister
Who has made abundantly clear wanted nothing to do with her silly TikToks. She was supportive at least
Pride cometh before the fall unfortunately
Overtime jinx noticed that fame comes at a cost
That cost being randos hitting on her in the comments
Some even on the streets
"what a buncha creeps!!! can't they take a hint!?!"
This behavior got under her skin more than she thought it would as more and more people made their attraction to her apparent
With some being rather persistent
One day at a convention she walked around with a mask and hat on as a disguise
Stealth 100
She was looking at some cute accessories when she noticed the person next to her as a follower of hers
Y/n; a fellow TikToker who did vids about outfits and fashion. Mainly gothic and emo stuff.
They also happened to be one of jinx's favorite tiktokers and she froze when they looked over at her
"hey aren't you that girl with the blue hair? jinx was it?"
(•\\\^\\\•;)
"oh God they recognized me, what do I do?!?!
She has no idea what to think in this moment having now been recognized by her idle irl
On one hand "OMG senpai noticed me!!"
On the other hand who's to say they won't just flirt with her like all the others who she met irl
"your stuff is pretty cool, especially that mural you did in the old subway station downtown, that was so cool"
She snapped back into reality and returned the compliment, sharing her affection for their outfits.
Her favorite one being the croptop that showed their belly piercing, but she didn't dare say that
After y/n asking for an autograph and more compliments they left, just like that
After that jinx was basically head over heels for them
She couldn't say why
The way they showed interest in her hobbies
The way they didn't seem to be interested in catcalling her or making passes at her
Plus the outfit they wore was just 👌😤👌
This began her new obsession
You
She couldn't help but follow you around at the convention
Just a little bit.
She wasn't stalking it was just...okay yeah she was stalking
She immediately stopped after she realized that
Not before "bumping into you again" to ask for her own autograph
Which she proudly framed and hung in her room
She felt so confused about her emotions towards you
She'd never felt this way before, nor did she ever act like a head over heels teen
She'd stay up and watch all your TikToks and admire you
Simps for you hard
Eventually gains the courage to send you a message
"hey I was wondering if you'd like to…Collab sometime
You excitedly accept
Soon you're both collaborating on an outfit
It came out something like this
Tumblr media
You offer to wear it and she just stared at you
She couldn't stop blushing as she filmed you posing for the tiktok
You notice and ask if she's okay
"I'm good...you just- look nice"
You realize her feelings pretty quickly after that
As Time went on and you collabed more you grew to feel the same way
One day you two do the electric love trend as a joke planning to pull away or dab or something just before you kiss
Cue an on video make out session
Neither of you meant it to happen you just sorta went for it
You began dating shortly after
Best TikTok couple ever
Vi spit up her drink while watching your electric love TikTok
The end 😊

Psalms chapter 62
1 (To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.) Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Devotional for November 19th
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord... - Romans 10:9
Salvation here is evidently to be taken in its most extended meaning. It stands even more for the deliverance of the soul from the love and dominion of sin than for the removal of its justly incurred penalty. That we should be pure in heart, holy in thought, consecrated in life, with all the range of our nature controlled by his indwelling Spirit—such is the Divine intention with respect to us, as suggested by this deep, great word Salvation. But there are two conditions, on our compliance with which this saving power is realized.
We must confess Jesus as Lord.—Throughout Scripture there is a close connection between Christ’s Royalty and his Saviorship. "Behold, thy King cometh to thee,... having salvation;" "Him hath God set forth to be a Prince and a Savior." "Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High,... made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest continually." We shall never know Christ as a Savior from inbred sin until we have definitely and absolutely enthroned Him in our hearts. A physician is not content with healing outbreaks of disease and fever when they occur; but claims leave to examine all the arrangements of the house, so as to deal with the sources of the mischief.
We must also steadfastly believe in the Resurrection.—The risen Lord, sitting at the right hand of God, in all the vigour of an indissoluble life: still working in the world, and energising the hearts of his own entering to indwell, to fill, to unite with his own eternal life—such is the vision offered to our faith. Let us look away to Him with a persistent, unwavering gaze, until sin ceases to attract us, and Satan finds a Stronger in possession.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

HAVE NOTHING OF SATAN IN YOU
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me (John 14:30).
PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME
It’s very easy for Satan to use people in whom he’s deposited something of himself, for example, selfishness or greed. Anyone who is selfish isn’t walking in the love of God. Love rules over selfishness. God’s love is gracious. Selfishness in the heart is an invitation to satanic influence, for Satan is the author of selfishness.
This is why you must eschew selfishness and greed, and other traits that are consistent with Satan's nature. Don’t allow Satan to have any of his traits in you. Jesus said, “…the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” (John 14:30). Satan had nothing in Jesus. There was nothing Satan could lay claims to or which he could influence in Jesus.
That's the way it should be with you; Satan should find nothing in you that attracts him to you or that he can use to promote his agenda. It’s the reason you must walk in love at all times. Love is the antidote for selfishness and greed. Then also, speak the truth always.
Proverbs 6:16-19 highlights traits that are consistent with Satan’s nature that you must eschew. It says, “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
The Bible says “Give no place to the devil” (Ephesians 4:27). Don’t permit or give vent to any of his traits in your life. Walk in God’s light—His Word—and everything of Satan and darkness will be repelled from you.
CONFESSION
The prince of this world has nothing in me! The Word of God that gave birth to me is perfect and incorruptible; therefore, nothing of darkness is in me. I have the light of life: there's nothing in my life that produces darkness. In all I do, my motives are right and void of selfishness; and the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Proverbs 6:16-19, KJV "Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." Matthew 13:24-25, KJV "Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves." Luke 10:3, KJV "And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican." Matthew 18:17, KJV "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." Acts 20:28-30, KJV "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." Romans 16:17, KJV "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him . . . For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, 13-15, KJV "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:6-9, KJV "And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:" Galatians 2:4, KJV "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision." Philippians 3:2, KJV "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;" 1 Timothy 4:1-2, KJV "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." 1 Timothy 6:3-5, KJV "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" 2 Timothy 4:3, KJV "But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself." Titus 3:9-11, KJV "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of." 2 Peter 2:1-2, KJV "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." 1 John 2:18-19, KJV "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. Proverbs 13:2-25 A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke. 2   A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. 3   He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. 4   The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. 5   A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. 6   Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner. 7   There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. 8   The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. 9   The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. 10   Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. 11   Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. 12   Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. 13   Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. 14   The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. 15   Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. 16   Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly. 17   A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health. 18   Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured. 19   The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. 20   He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. 21   Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. 22   A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. 23   Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment. 24   He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. 25   The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

Daily Devotionals for April 5, 2023 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 13:17-21 (KJV): 17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is a health. 18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honored. 19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil. 20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. 21 Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repaid.
Thought for the Day
Verses 17-18 - Faithfulness is an attribute that many people lack today. A faithful employee abides by company rules and heeds correction. This makes him a valuable asset in forming a healthy company and brings him honor and promotion. A faithless employee falls into mischief that hinders his job performance. A rebellious employee refuses instruction. This usually costs him his job, resulting in poverty and shame.
Verse 19 - Accomplishment brings satisfaction rarely experienced by the person who seldom finishes a project. Procrastination stops many people from accomplishing their goals (Ecclesiastes 11:4). It is also a very subtle sin. Satan encourages procrastination with perfectly good-sounding reasons which usually involve one's immediate comfort. Those who entertain procrastination usually have good intentions of accomplishing their goals - just at a later time, which never comes. Persevering when we do not feel like doing something is a godly trait we must develop to become overcomers in Christ. Perhaps you have heard the old saying; the highway to hell is paved with good intentions. God deals with people's hearts, asking them to surrender to His will, yet many resists, thinking they will yield at a later time when they feel like it. We are warned not to turn from God when He speaks (Hebrews 12:25).
Fools refuse to repent. To even consider giving up the evil things upon which they set their hearts is an abomination to them. Let us not be foolish. Let us not procrastinate, if we need to repent or perform any responsibility. God will strengthen us to accomplish any task if we ask Him to do so.
Verse 20 - We have heard the expression, "Birds of a feather flock together." To grow in wisdom, we should select wise friends and associates. Their input can rightly direct us so that we succeed in our endeavors and avoid many difficulties. If we choose the company of foolish and rebellious people, we will face destruction. Those who are wise want to be around those who are wise, while the foolish desire the company of fools.
Verse 21 - Evil things follow evil people, but if we seek God in faith, we are promised the rewards of the righteous. We must, however, seek God diligently and not half-heartedly. "But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6).
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, we praise You for all of Your goodness to us as Your children. We are blessed to know You and to follow You. Lord, help us to make wise decisions in all the things that we daily face. Give us Your love for all that we meet. Lord, in all of our affairs, help us not to procrastinate in dealing with the responsibilities that are before us. We do need Your guidance to know the things that should be priorities in our life, as sometimes we do not know what needs to be taken care of first. Help us, in all our daily activities at home and on our jobs, to demonstrate Your nature. We ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen. From: Elder Steven P. HAVE NOTHING OF SATAN IN YOU
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me (John 14:30).
PRAYER / CONFESSION
The prince of this world has nothing in me! The Word of God that gave birth to me is perfect and incorruptible; therefore, nothing of darkness is in me. I have the light of life: there's nothing in my life that produces darkness. In all I do, my motives are right and void of selfishness; and the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Ezekiel 7:1-27 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.
Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.
An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.
Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them.
The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.
They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.
They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.
And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.
My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.
Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Ecclesiasticus ch27 v25 - v30 from the Apocrypha of the King James Bible (1611).
Whoso casteth a stone on high casteth it on his own head and a deceitful stroke shall make wounds. Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein and he that setteth a trap shall be taken therein. He that worketh mischief, it shall fall upon him and he shall not know whence it cometh. Mockery and reproach are from the proud but vengeance as a lion, shall lie in wait for them. They that rejoice at the…

Psalms 62:1-12 (KJV) Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity. Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClgJLqjL074/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 📖Psalm 7:11-12 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. 📖John 3:3-8 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Buy the truth, and sell it not; Yea, wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; And he that begetteth a wise child will have joy of him. Let thy father and thy mother be glad, And let her that bare thee rejoice. My son, give me thy heart; And let thine eyes delight in my ways. For a harlot is a deep ditch; And a foreign woman is a narrow pit. Yea, she lieth in wait as a robber, And increaseth the treacherous among men. Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? Who hath complaining? who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; They that go to seek out mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, When it sparkleth in the cup, When it goeth down smoothly: At the last it biteth like a serpent, And stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange things, And thy heart shall utter perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, Or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not hurt; They have beaten me, and I felt it not: When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.
Proverbs 23:23‭-‬35
Be not thou envious against evil men; Neither desire to be with them: For their heart studieth oppression, And their lips talk of mischief. Through wisdom is a house builded; And by understanding it is established; And by knowledge are the chambers filled With all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; Yea, a man of knowledge increaseth might. For by wise guidance thou shalt make thy war; And in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Wisdom is too high for a fool: He openeth not his mouth in the gate. He that deviseth to do evil, Men shall call him a mischief-maker. The thought of foolishness is sin; And the scoffer is an abomination to men. If thou faint in the day of adversity, Thy strength is small. Deliver them that are carried away unto death, And those that are ready to be slain see that thou hold back. If thou sayest, Behold, we knew not this; Doth not he that weigheth the hearts consider it? And he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? And shall not he render to every man according to his work? My son, eat thou honey, for it is good; And the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to thy taste: So shalt thou know wisdom to be unto thy soul; If thou hast found it, then shall there be a reward, And thy hope shall not be cut off. Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous; Destroy not his resting-place: For a righteous man falleth seven times, and riseth up again; But the wicked are overthrown by calamity. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, And let not thy heart be glad when he is overthrown; Lest Jehovah see it, and it displease him, And he turn away his wrath from him. Fret not thyself because of evil-doers; Neither be thou envious at the wicked: For there shall be no reward to the evil man; The lamp of the wicked shall be put out. My son, fear thou Jehovah and the king; And company not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; And the destruction from them both, who knoweth it? These also are sayings of the wise. To have respect of persons in judgment is not good. He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous, Peoples shall curse him, nations shall abhor him; But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, And a good blessing shall come upon them. He kisseth the lips Who giveth a right answer. Prepare thy work without, And make it ready for thee in the field; And afterwards build thy house. Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause; And deceive not with thy lips. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me; I will render to the man according to his work. I went by the field of the sluggard, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, The face thereof was covered with nettles, And the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I beheld, and considered well; I saw, and received instruction: Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep; So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 24:1‭-‬34
These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, So the heart of kings is unsearchable. Take away the dross from the silver, And there cometh forth a vessel for the refiner: Take away the wicked from before the king, And his throne shall be established in righteousness. Put not thyself forward in the presence of the king, And stand not in the place of great men: For better is it that it be said unto thee, Come up hither, Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom thine eyes have seen. Go not forth hastily to strive, Lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, When thy neighbor hath put thee to shame. Debate thy cause with thy neighbor himself, And disclose not the secret of another; Lest he that heareth it revile thee, And thine infamy turn not away. A word fitly spoken Is like apples of gold in network of silver. As an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, So is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, So is a faithful messenger to them that send him; For he refresheth the soul of his masters. As clouds and wind without rain, So is he that boasteth himself of his gifts falsely. By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh the bone. Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, Lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. Let thy foot be seldom in thy neighbor’s house, Lest he be weary of thee, and hate thee. A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow. Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. As one that taketh off a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon soda, So is he that singeth songs to a heavy heart. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou wilt heap coals of fire upon his head, And Jehovah will reward thee. The north wind bringeth forth rain; So doth a backbiting tongue an angry countenance. It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, So is good news from a far country. As a troubled fountain, and a corrupted spring, So is a righteous man that giveth way before the wicked. It is not good to eat much honey; So for men to search out their own glory is grievous. He whose spirit is without restraint Is like a city that is broken down and without walls.
Proverbs 25:1‭-‬28
As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, So honor is not seemly for a fool. As the sparrow in her wandering, as the swallow in her flying, So the curse that is causeless alighteth not. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, And a rod for the back of fools. Answer not a fool according to his folly, Lest thou also be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own conceit. He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool Cutteth off his own feet, and drinketh in damage. The legs of the lame hang loose; So is a parable in the mouth of fools. As one that bindeth a stone in a sling, So is he that giveth honor to a fool. As a thorn that goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, So is a parable in the mouth of fools. As an archer that woundeth all, So is he that hireth a fool and he that hireth them that pass by. As a dog that returneth to his vomit, So is a fool that repeateth his folly. Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him. The sluggard saith, There is a lion in the way; A lion is in the streets. As the door turneth upon its hinges, So doth the sluggard upon his bed. The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish; It wearieth him to bring it again to his mouth. The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit Than seven men that can render a reason. He that passeth by, and vexeth himself with strife belonging not to him, Is like one that taketh a dog by the ears. As a madman who casteth firebrands, Arrows, and death, So is the man that deceiveth his neighbor, And saith, Am not I in sport? For lack of wood the fire goeth out; And where there is no whisperer, contention ceaseth. As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to inflame strife. The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts. Fervent lips and a wicked heart Are like an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips; But he layeth up deceit within him: When he speaketh fair, believe him not; For there are seven abominations in his heart: Though his hatred cover itself with guile, His wickedness shall be openly showed before the assembly. Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein; And he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him. A lying tongue hateth those whom it hath wounded; And a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
Proverbs 26:1‭-‬28
Boast not thyself of to-morrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips. A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool’s vexation is heavier than they both. Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; But who is able to stand before jealousy? Better is open rebuke Than love that is hidden. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; But the kisses of an enemy are profuse. The full soul loatheth a honeycomb; But to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet. As a bird that wandereth from her nest, So is a man that wandereth from his place. Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; So doth the sweetness of a man’s friend that cometh of hearty counsel. Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off. My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, That I may answer him that reproacheth me. A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it. Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; And hold him in pledge that is surety for a foreign woman. He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, It shall be counted a curse to him. A continual dropping in a very rainy day And a contentious woman are alike: He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil. Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof; And he that regardeth his master shall be honored. As in water face answereth to face, So the heart of man to man. Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And the eyes of man are never satisfied. The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; And a man is tried by his praise. Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with bruised grain, Yet will not his foolishness depart from him. Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, And look well to thy herds: For riches are not for ever; And doth the crown endure unto all generations? The hay is carried, and the tender grass showeth itself, And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in. The lambs are for thy clothing, And the goats are the price of the field; And there will be goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, And maintenance for thy maidens.
Proverbs 27:1‭-‬27
The wicked flee when no man pursueth; But the righteous are bold as a lion. For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; But by men of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged. A needy man that oppresseth the poor Is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food. They that forsake the law praise the wicked; But such as keep the law contend with them. Evil men understand not justice; But they that seek Jehovah understand all things. Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, Than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son; But he that is a companion of gluttons shameth his father. He that augmenteth his substance by interest and increase, Gathereth it for him that hath pity on the poor. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination. Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, He shall fall himself into his own pit; But the perfect shall inherit good. The rich man is wise in his own conceit; But the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; But when the wicked rise, men hide themselves. He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy. Happy is the man that feareth alway; But he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear, So is a wicked ruler over a poor people. The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor; But he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days. A man that is laden with the blood of any person Shall flee unto the pit; let no man stay him. Whoso walketh uprightly shall be delivered; But he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread; But he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. A faithful man shall abound with blessings; But he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished. To have respect of persons is not good; Neither that a man should transgress for a piece of bread. He that hath an evil eye hasteth after riches, And knoweth not that want shall come upon him. He that rebuketh a man shall afterward find more favor Than he that flattereth with the tongue. Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, The same is the companion of a destroyer. He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife; But he that putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be made fat. He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; But he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; But when they perish, the righteous increase.
Proverbs 28:1‭-‬28
He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man beareth rule, the people sigh. Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father; But he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth his substance. The king by justice establisheth the land; But he that exacteth gifts overthroweth it. A man that flattereth his neighbor Spreadeth a net for his steps. In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; But the righteous doth sing and rejoice. The righteous taketh knowledge of the cause of the poor; The wicked hath not understanding to know it. Scoffers set a city in a flame; But wise men turn away wrath. If a wise man hath a controversy with a foolish man, Whether he be angry or laugh, there will be no rest. The bloodthirsty hate him that is perfect; And as for the upright, they seek his life. A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it. If a ruler hearkeneth to falsehood, All his servants are wicked. The poor man and the oppressor meet together; Jehovah lighteneth the eyes of them both. The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, His throne shall be established for ever. The rod and reproof give wisdom; But a child left to himself causeth shame to his mother. When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth; But the righteous shall look upon their fall. Correct thy son, and he will give thee rest; Yea, he will give delight unto thy soul. Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he. A servant will not be corrected by words; For though he understand, he will not give heed. Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him. He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child Shall have him become a son at the last. An angry man stirreth up strife, And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression. A man’s pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor. Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul; He heareth the adjuration and uttereth nothing. The fear of man bringeth a snare; But whoso putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be safe. Many seek the ruler’s favor; But a man’s judgment cometh from Jehovah. An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous; And he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
