Grace is very small, and almost silly looking as a frizzle. I doubt she weighs a pound. She easily disappears against the exposed ground. She has a very sweet temperament, and will happily take treats from my hand, or scratches. Woe be to any bird or squirrel that she sets an eye against, though! The house beeps are getting so big, we decided to set them up in an outdoor pen and get them acclimated to the flock. We upgraded the house beep pen yesterday and they got to spend some time playing in the planter box until it was ready. Outside baby update! The little cochins are very active and are learning all the chicken skills from their mommies, but are very shy and flighty. The silkies are getting big and starting to show some very silkie characteristics like little head poofs and their little walnut combs are starting to develop. They're a bit more comfortable around people as their mommies are teaching them to run up to me for treats, which is the most important chicken skill of all ❤ Also, the terf wars are still going on among the two groups and those cochins are downright nasty to my poor innocent silkies. Poor little Pillow Pants has caught the brunt of their wrath, which is why her neck looks like that. When I got home from the gym last night, the cochin mommies were teaching their beeps how to roost. It was a process, but they managed to get all seven babies onto the same roost with them.
