#mentions of Shuri with moonie
Note
❝  i chose you.  and i need you to trust that my decision is final.  trust me.  ❞ 🥺🥺
The grip around her petite frame caused Shuri to glance up at the Viera. Baldr's expression was an open book to her; he didn't need to speak what was on his mind when his face would give it away. Still, Shuri turned enough in his arms, her mismatched eyes fixated on his. "What's wrong, love?"
Baldr averted his gaze, a habit of his shyness that enamored Shuri to him at the start. Something that even endeared him to her partners when the Viera was fine with the arrangements, of being loved by everyone in their little family. "You wouldn't...throw me away, right?" he asked softly. "You...you and everyone else could have anyone you wanted. I wonder why you..."
"Why I chose you?" Shuri tended to get to the point.
Eyes widening slightly, Baldr nodded shyly.
Shaking her head, Shuri lifted her hand to caress Baldr's cheek. "I want you to listen to me. We chose you. I chose you. And I need you to trust that my decision is final. Trust me," she told him gently, her voice a soft assurance. "I want you with me. We want you with us. You aren't alone anymore, Baldr. You won't be ever again."

So You can rest.
Kiya and Kivera.
Mentions my pairing with Kiya and Aymeric. and Polyship with Shuri.
Shuri belongs to @snow-covered-moon
Kiya had ventured on her own, she had to revisit the garden. She had heard some of it was saved. She had to revisit the grounds she and Aymeric made vows for eternity on.
She holds alot of fears as she pays respects to those Eorzea lost to Bahamut’s flames that day when Fandaniel surfaced. Would an attack hit her without anyone, she walked through the archway and sighs in relief seeing how fast other botanists worked to replenish the grounds.
She can still smell the scorched ground in memory, it was one of the last few times she stood in a battlefield. Aymeric had shielded her, he had more to lose than just her.
She kneels down at the center of the garden and presses a hand to her stomach the memory of Alyse. Habit from being pregnant, hers and Aymeric’s daughter is safe back in Ishgard under Aymeric’s care. He understood when she had to go see the garden when it was back open to public. He would have gone with her, but agreed that they would go together when their anniversary comes up.
Kiya doesn’t know how long she was in prayer, long enough that someone else chances on her.
Kivera touches her feet faint on the ground, she followed at behest of Aymeric. She could watch over her in secret or make her presence known. The beings they were facing were beyond normal magic. Kivera a perfect stand-in for himself.
“Kiya, you should keep your awareness up even in prayer.” Kivera breaks through the silence, and Kiya looks over her shoulder to the reaper. She would never let anything happen to her.
“Did Aymeric send you?” Kivera nods brief, and Kiya looks down at the mosaic pattern on the tiles. From blood shed on the field to marriages then scorched ground. She can faintly see burn markings where restorations were missed.
“He means well, it is dangerous lately.” Kiya stands to face her, seeing Kivera something eased her mind. They shared similar features, her doing to make sure she doesn’t remember Hecate. She even gave her, her name and took on the new one. Kivera.
“What does Kivera mean?” Kiya regards her in reverence.
“In my home tongue, it was suppose to mean sunshine. Today, it is just a fancy form to Chimera.” The angel opens her wings, letting her left one shimmer white before resuming black under a guise.
“It’s a good name, you bring light to those in darkness.” Kivera’s eyes widen a little at this thought. She shakes her head, and folds her arms behind her back at the wrists. She can see the wear on Kiya though, the battles, the stress, the fears of whether the next fight she was in would be her last one.
“I want to step down from the mantle permanently.” Kiya looks away from Kivera saying this. Kiya is a skilled black mage, one that had earned her name and titles across Eorzea. Kivera thinks it over.
“I thought so.” Kivera hovers a hand underneath Kiya’s face to tilt it up to look at her darker green to her own bright eyes.
“I’m afraid of disappointing the Scion’s though...” Kiya narrows her eyes at this one, she had seen the same frustrations run through Shuri when she stepped down for a while after Ardbert and for that brief time of losing Lilith.
“This is your path, not theirs. Don’t feel bad for doing and following what you want. They have others willing to keep fighting.” Kivera doesn’t try changing her mind, it is a choice she would grant her.
“So you’re not going to tell me different?” Kiya is a little surprised to this.
“Why should I, someone who detests forcing people to choose against their wills, make someone who wants to escape fighting.. continue to do something like that? I’ll take your roll, how about that. If you ever feel the need to return, you can.” Kivera offers her a way out, and Kiya takes it resting her head on the hand.
“I’m so tired of fighting.. I just wanted to adventure and have fun. Not save worlds from catastrophe all the time. I hate being selfish... but I also don’t want Aymeric or Alyse to lose me.. I know Aymeric will still fight.. but I don’t want to anymore.” Kivera remarks her with reverence.
“Be sure to tell him that when you get home. He’ll be happier that someone will remain for Alyse. She is a future to Ishgard. Go raise a wonderful daughter.” Kivera presses her forehead to Kiya’s head brief to take on her essence. Those that are not Scion’s or warriors of light, those that know her. Will see Kiya’s form in her place, instead of Kivera’s. Those that know her, they will see the angel in all her glory.
Kivera waves her off, paying her way back with a airship. Kivera on the other hand makes her way to Mor Dhona for the next meeting Kiya was called to. To take over officially.
Kivera walks through the entrance to the Rising Stones, and is greeted to a few shocked faces in G’raha Tia, Alphinaud, and Estinien seeing her, in Kiya’s place. G’raha Tia steps back a little seeing Kivera, still on edge around her warnings. he had not done any blood magic since she had trounced him that one day. Alphinaud is confused to Kivera’s presence.
“What ever do we owe the pleasure?” Alphinaud breaks the awkward silence.
“I came in Kiya’s place. She won’t be coming here.” Kivera looks over herself making sure her appearance looked as close to what the miqo would wear with her own spin on the outfits.
“We could postpone if she’s not feeling well.” Tataru raises her voice enough.
“That won’t be necessary. I will be as vague as possible in this, while also direct. She won’t be coming in at all. She’s stepped down. She has personal reasons for it I hope you won’t object to.” The way she phrases herself, Kivera makes it clear this is not a negotiation for Kiya’s leaving the frontlines.
“When you see her again, give her our regards then.” G’raha speaks up, and Kivera nods brief, she looks ahead to see Estinien who eyes her about this choice. He welcomes it, knowing how well she holds her own on the battlefield.
“So, let’s have this meeting already. Busy angel you know.” Kivera says wondering why they’re stalling.
Kivera takes over so Kiya can rest.
