Performance Stats: 2022 (mainland edition)
Alright, it’s (no longer) that time of year again! Summary of all 2022 calendar year performances stats!! - This was a CRAZY year full of cross-production covers + emergency cover chaos so very fun to write up. It also made it a bit of a challenge with organization. If an actor was primarily with one production but served as an emergency cover for another, I listed them with their primary or initial production. - Yearly disclaimer that some errors and/or disparities could exist. - And as always, if you repost/use these stats anywhere, please credit me @sixcostumerefs (or six.costume.refs on Insta) And as always....a shoutout to Dionne Ward-Anderson, who featured in the largest number of performances this year, at a whopping 353 shows! Runner up is Andrea Macasaet at 327 shows, with Brittney Mack a very close third with 322! Most performing Aragon was Phoenix Jackson Mendoza (270), Seymour was Claudia Kariuki (293), Howard was Samantha Pauly (314.5), and Parr was Meesha Turner (267.5, but Alana Robinson was at 267). 2021-22 West End Amy di Bartolomeo: 242 performances Amanda Lindgren 255 performances Tsemaye Bob-Egbe: 233 performances Meesha Turner: 267.5 performances Paisley Billings: 114.5 performances (55 A, 44.5 C, 14 P) 2022-23 West End Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky: 81 performances Baylie Carson: 78 performances Koko Basigara: 65 performances Monique Ashe-Palmer: 14 performances (7 A, 1 B, 6 C) Leah Vassell: 40 performances (20 S, 1 C, 19 P) 2021-22 UK Tour Lauren Drew: 71 performances Maddison Bulleyment: 62 performances Caitlin Tipping: 68 performances Shekinah McFarlane: 60 performances Vicki Manser: 63 performances Elena Gyasi: 66 performances (61 regular prior to cast change + 5 emergency cover post-CC) Cassy Lee: 22 performances (8 A, 14 C) Cherelle Jay: 7 performances (1 B, 1 S, 2 C, 3 P) 2022-23 UK Tour Chloe Hart: 269 performances Casey Al-Shaqsy: 252 performances total (249 on UKT + 3 as E/C for WE) Aiesha Pease: 7 performances Jessica Niles: 237-245 performances total (19-27 performances with Breakaway 2.0, 218 performances with UKT) Jaina Brock-Patel: 110 performances Rebecca Wickes: 72 performances Alana M Robinson: 267 performances Harriet Caplan-Dean: 72 performances (10 A, 9 B, 13 S, 7 C, 18 H, 15 P) Grace Melville: 153 performances total w/ 151 performances on UKT (55 A, 4 B, 91 C with 60 of those performances as T/R, 1 P) + 2 as E/C for WE (2 C) Leesa Tulley: 186 performances (1 A, 35 B, 11 S, 137 H with 57 of those performances as T/R, 2 P) 2021-22 Broadway (+ Aug replacements) Adrianna Hicks: 202 performances Bre Jackson: 123 performances (two of these were half shows) Andrea Macasaet: 327 performances Abby Mueller: 117 performances Keri Rene Fuller: 183 performances (59 as T/R, 1 as early debut, the rest as principal) Brittney Mack: 322 performances Samantha Pauly: 314.5 performances Anna Uzele: 97 performances Joy Woods: 146 performances Brennyn Lark: 85 performances Mallory Maedke: 67.5 performances (16.5 A, 47 S, 4 H) Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert: 95 performances (39 A, 26 B, 30 C; two A were half-shows) Courtney Mack: 99.5 performances (25 B, 57.5 H, 17 P) Keirsten Hodgens: 107 performances total. 104 on Bway + 3 as emergency cover for Aragon Tour (Bway was 33 S, 25 C, 46 P; Tour was 3 C). unpopular or controversial theatre/performer opinions ?
Six WE 3.0 was a really talented cast and deserved better. Altogether, I can certainly see where the negative opinions come in which is fine, but individually they each bring something new to the stage. Amy’s riffs and presence onstage as Aragon, Amanda Boleyn was beautiful to watch and grow in confidence, and was ideal for many fan-fic depictions of Boleyn. Claudia portrays a beautiful Seymour, Dionne is so chill and cool as Cleves, Tsemaye’s acting is out of this world and I really like the vibe of Meesha, she’s a really good actress and her voice is quite relaxing actually. The alternates too!!
Esme and Rachel embody the word super swing, and are so beyond versatile. Paisley brings a fun yet chill vibe and my god is she a good Parr, Danielle’s energy is out of this world and Roxanne’s riffs are parr-fection.
Also, IDNYL in a lower key >>>

Some thoughts on Six tonight:
Claudia Kariuki is amazing as Jane Seymour. Her performance got me liking Jane in a way I didn't (expect to) before. She makes Jane sympathetic and relatable, even when she's belitting Kat's situation.
Speaking of Kat, my goodness, Danielle Rose was so good at conveying Kat's increasing distress in her situation (the way she snarled, "his temper's short / and his mates are sleazy"... w o w) and bringing home the anger during Kat's post-song "acceptance" speech.
(Aside: yes, the man sitting next to me did laugh during That Part of "All You Wanna Do". How ever did you guess? -_-)
Apparently this was Roxanne Couch's Aragon debut?? wowza! She did an excellent job; the soft "no?" during the bridge of "No Way" was muy bien indeed.
I am so gay for Amanda Lindgren Amanda Lindgren's Boleyn was incredible! Her body language was so expressive, and the way she played the, "I'm pretty sure he means it...," bit was great.
Rachel Rawlinson's Cleves and Meesha Turner's Parr were both great. I don't have much to say on them right now, but they were wonderful.
I'll probably have more thoughts about the narrative and production later (the non-verbal communication! the relationships between the queens! the... sad lack of a Cleves outfit reveal), but those are my preliminary thoughts!!

Nettles Casting Speculation
Since HBO won’t announce the casting for Nettles(understandably), and because we are all going mad due to a lack of official news for her, I thought I would compose a list of all the actresses who could potentially be her.
(Shout out to @nettlesdefensesquad cause she found a lot of these actresses).
Take this whole list with a massive grain of salt because my criteria for this was Black(ish) British/Black(ish) actresses in British productions between the ages of 26-33 (according to some guy on Reddit, Nettles actress is 32, so I thought I’d be lenient with the age) who’s side profile sorta matches this picture of Nettles presumed actress in costume:
Tumblr media
Keeping all that in mind, here’s our list:
1. Gabrielle Brooks
Tumblr media
While her side profile does not really match the woman in the blurry photo, Gabrielle just turned 33, I believe she’s following/being followed by some of the HOTD cast, and she doesn’t appear to be working on any projects at the moment so we can’t rule her out 🤷🏽‍♀️
2. Yohanna Ephrem
Tumblr media
Can’t find her exact age, but based on the side profiles it looks as if she could be a match and she appears not to be working on anything right now. She also doesn’t appear to have any social media so bonus points?
3. Marilyn Nnadebe
Tumblr media
Marilyn is 32 and it appears like she is not working on any projects right now.
4. Jordan Loughran
Tumblr media
People have been fan-casting her for years, but since she was used in a recent fancast, I decided to look her up, and lo and behold she’s 31! Jordan was already on a HBO show, Raised by Wolves, which also happens to be the same show Alyn’s actor(Abubakar Salim) was on so bonus points.
5. Lois Chimimba
Tumblr media
The side profile isn’t that great of a match, but she is 31, about to be 32, and she doesn’t appear to be working on anything at the moment.
6. Tamaira Hesson
Tumblr media
I can’t find a decent side profile pick and I can’t find Tamaira’s exact age, but under her playing age, it lists 20-30. She doesn’t appear to be working on any projects at the moment and besides LinkedIn, she doesn’t appear to have any social media.
7. Ronke Adekoluejo
Tumblr media
Ronke is 31 and her side profile is kinda a match.
8. Meesha Turner
Tumblr media
The side profiles aren’t that much of a match, but for the people who speculate that Nettles actress is tall, Meesha is 5’9.” She’s 32 and she’s not working on anything at the moment. (In fact back in October she left her role as Catherine Parr in the production Six the Musical).
9. Jasmine Rachelle
Tumblr media
Can’t find her exact age, but she’s I don’t think she’s older than 25/26. Jasmine is 5’9.”
10. Sherelle Johnson
Tumblr media
I can’t find her exact age(or a side profile pic), but her playing age range is between 18-28. I also don’t think she’s working on anything at the moment.
11. Crystal Clarke
Tumblr media
Crystal’s last show Sanditon just ended and for the time being it does not look as if she has any other projects in the works. She is around 30.
(I would literally jump for joy if she was playing Nettles).
12. Gleanne Purcell-Brown
Tumblr media
The profile isn’t dead on, but Glenne’s playing age is between 20-30. She doesn’t appear to be working on anything and she is 5’8.”
13. Lebogang Fisher
Tumblr media
Her playing age is between 18-28. She doesn’t appear to be working on any projects at the moment.
14. Casey Al-Shaqsy
Tumblr media
Casey’s playing age is between 19-25. She doesn’t appear to be working on any projects at the moment.
15. Lydia Fraser
Tumblr media
Not a side profile picture, but Lydia’s playing age is between 20-35. She is currently working on a stage play though.
16. Yazzmin Newell
Tumblr media
Her playing range is between 20-30. It doesn’t look as if she’s working on anything at the moment(her last series was canceled earlier this year). Steve Touissaint is also following her.
17. Madeleine Mantock
Tumblr media
She was gearing up for a play back in June, but she’s 33 and 5’9.”
18. Tia Bannon
Tumblr media
Not sure about her exact age, but she graduated with a BA back in 2015 so she fits the age range.
19. Danielle Vitalis
Tumblr media
Honestly, this is another case of the side profile not really matching, but she fits the age range(play range is 16-30) so I’m adding her just to cover all our bases🤷🏽‍♀️
20. Karla Simone-Spence
Tumblr media
Listen my behind knows she’s not going to play Nettles, but she follows Bethany on Instagram and she’s 27. Let me dream 😭
21. Natalie Simpson
Tumblr media
Her playing age is 23-33(I think she’s in her early 30s).
22. Leah Haile
Tumblr media
According to her Spotlight, she’s currently working on the Snow White movie that comes out next year, but I just thought I might include her. Her playing age is between 16-25.
23. Jessica Allain
Tumblr media
Do the side profiles match? Probably not, but she’s 26 and pretty tall so I’m including her.
24. Thalissa Teixeira
Tumblr media
Shes been fancasted as Nettles in the past and she’s in her early 30s and it doesn't look like she's really working on anything🤷🏽‍♀️
25. Shantol Jackson
Tumblr media
Are the side profiles matching? Nope, but she is 31.
26. Sophia Brown
Tumblr media
She's tall 5’ 8” and 31. I really couldn’t find a good side profile pic of Sophia, but I wouldn’t rule her out.
27. Zaraah Abrahams
Tumblr media
She’s 36 so she’s a little out of the age range, but she looks young, again, we are covering all of our bases.
28. Razan Nassar
Tumblr media
She’s on the young side(25), but she’s been in a show with Bethany Antonia(Get Even), hence the inclusion.
29. Simona Brown
Tumblr media
She’s 29 and she doesn’t appear to be working on anything.
There are some actresses who are a bit too young so I didn’t include them, but in case Reddit guy was all the way off, Corinna Brown(who follows Bethany) and Coco Rebecca Edogamhe are good contenders.
This list is not extensive, so anyone with any suggestions feel free to add them 😊(please add them because your girl is desperate 😭).

Dreamcast: Moulin Rouge but make it all six
Also called I'm doing @sixcostumerefs thing and dreamcasting another show with six actors. I will fully admit I have spent a lot of time thinking about which six actors I would like to see in Moulin Rouge and was actually loosing my mind when six SK got two MR actresses. So here goes female presenting roles six dreamcast.
Also a quick note. When it comes to (most) principals there are many queens who would be great at them, some have been in auditions and I wouldn't be surprised to see more six alumni going into Moulin Rouge. But the ensemble gets a lot more complicated. Six casts great singers and actors who are solid dancers. Moulin Rouge casts great dancers who sing and its not rare to see former profesional ballet dancers in the cast. There isn't much overlap when it comes to who could get cast in either show, so I went with the ones that have the best dance technique and seem to have some degree of ballet background even if it is not at the level Moulin rouge looks for. Also full disclosure; Elisabeth did most of the research for this I just took advantage of her info.

Note number 2. Heels is the the gender neutral way Moulin Rouge designates the can-can dancer tracks in the US and UK (flats for male presenting roles), some companies do use female/male and AUS uses skirts/tails. Heels is the one I am used to and the one that makes the most sense to me so thats what I'm going with.
