Some sketches because it's been months since I drew these idiots oops☝️🥰

HI THERE. It's been a minute, sorry about that lol. I took a tiny out-of-nowhere and sorta involuntary break from the fandom because I lost interest for a second, but I'm slowlyyyy making my way back. With art, and some news about Tone Deaf for the people who are still wondering about that.

Also I see there's some asks in my box, I'll get to that eventually, I see you ;-; dw

As stated, I momentarily lost a bit of interest with this movie- partially because I've recently been ensnared in a new fixation that will not be named right now, but yeah. I'm digging my heels in rn, because the last thing I wanna do is abandon this project. But, also, I've clearly bitten off more than I can chew with this being a comic lmao. In over my head and going through all 5 stages of grief and currently on acceptance.

The story got bigger. Like, a LOT bigger. Too big to capture every thought in a drawing and panel it and put it out as a perfectly polished comic without seriously burning myself out. It really doesn't help that my art style evolves by the second too apparently, so I've reached a middle-ground:

Tone Deaf is going to be a fic with some comic-like segments in it. An illustrated fanfic bc I still love showing and not telling a little too much.

This'll help me not only get stuff out faster, but also to help me fill in the gaps I didn't know how to draw with just text. So I can focus on just drawing the juicy shit. This also means it'll all be collected over on Ao3 in a neat little package, and I honestly prefer that over having a bunch of posts of pages that might be hard to find. So yeah, that's the plan.

Another bonus is that the frames can now be a lot more polished and nice looking [in glorious color] rather than hastily mashed together due to my bad habit of going overboard on singular frames without realizing it.

Tldr; Tone Deaf is technically still gonna be a comic, it's just now gonna be supplemented with word-based fic mixed in because I made the project way too fucking big [the first Act has like 20 chapters I'm going to literally die]. Also it's gonna be on Ao3 and I'll probably be posting all the art here alongside any updates I make so huzzah! Help me :>

Teaser for the next chapter of my version of Sing (Remake)

Johnny brightly smiled and exited through the red door. He looked around to make sure the cops weren’t around. Once the coast was clear, Johnny skated through the bad side of the city. He put his headphones over his head and listened to the music. He muttered some familiar lyrics to practice. Looking at his phone, he checked the website of the club the strange koala suggested to make sure his appointment was on the right time.

Ten o’clock. Perfect. He should be there in about fifteen minutes.

Johnny rehearsed the lyrics in his head while listening to the music.

“Finders keepers, losers weepers.

Finders keepers, losers weepers.”

The gorilla smiled a bit while singing to the lyrics until he arrived at the club he was supposed to be at called Betty’s Club. He hopped off of his skateboard and entered through the door. Johnny noticed the shy elephant in a light blue sweater and brown short hair in pigtails. She seemed nervous given to her rubbing her hands and her giant ears sticking close to her face to hide it.

“Uh, ‘ello?” Johnny called while looking around the club.

The polar bear in a red Hawaiian shirt noticed him. “You’re gonna have to wait for your turn!”

“Oh, sorry, I have an appointment at ten—”

“Just stand in line,” the polar boy grumbled.

Johnny did as instructed. He looked at the elephant. “Are you in line?”

She shook her head. “Oh no, I’m waiting for my friend and her boyfriend.”

“Oh, okay.”

“Next!” the polar bear called while the beavers who were on stage performing a song hopped off.

Johnny noticed a couple of porcupines who seemed to be a couple. The gorilla watched in interest as the porcupines strapped their guitars on.

Among the ruins of Moon Theater, Buster Moon and his talented cast decided to have one last talk among themselves before they got down to work, tidying up the premises.

Buster: I'll admit, I'm still kind of surprised you could all forgive me so easily, after what happened with the bears and the prize money...

Ash: Oh trust me, Moon, we were all really pissed at you about that for a while. Weren't we, guys?

Every animal present except for Buster nodded affirmatively, much to the koala's embarrassment.

Ash: But we couldn't just let it end like that.

Meena: You're our friend, Mr. Moon, and you inspired us.

Gunter: Ja!

Rosita: You pushed us out of our comfort zones, and encouraged us to never give up on our dreams.

Johnny: You helped me find the courage to go for what I really want out of life.

Ash: And if I never entered that crazy contest of yours, who knows how long it would have been before I realized just how much of a deadbeat loser Lance really is.

Rosita stooped down to Buster's eye level and cupped his paw within her own, smiling warmly at the koala.

Rosita: We started this thing with you, Mr. Moon, and we want to finish it with you too.

Johnny: (smiling) Besides, I almost robbed you blind a few nights ago anyway, so I figure I can't be too mad at ya.

Buster grinned widely at every animal present, feeling truly touched by their show of camaraderie.

Buster: Aww, you guys, that is so sweet. You know, I really appreciate this, and I promise you that this show will be one for- Wait... Wait, Johnny was what that last part?

The gorilla simply chuckled and patted the koala on the back.

Johnny: Let's get cracking, shall we?

Mike, shooting out of frame: WHOO-HOO! I'M RIGHT HERE! I'M RIGHT HERE! YOU WANT SOME O' ME!? YEAH YOU DO! COME ON! COME ON! AAAAAH! WHOO-HOO!

Ms. Crawley: 'Course, there're other schools of thought.

Gunter: *Slowly pushes a cannon into a 17th century bank* Okay everyone, be cool. This is a robbery!

Mike: I'm gonna need a human skull but you can't ask why.

Ms. Crawley: Only if you also don't ask why.

Ms. Crawley: *Pulls out four prestine human skulls from their bag*

Mike: ...

Mike, grabbing a skull: This one will do.

[I'm a little late due to a sudden bout of perfectionism, but we don't talk about that-]

Can't believe it's been a whole six years since this... thing dropped. Saw it on release, and I regret not immediately falling in love with it. I thought it was fun [not great critically or quality-wise, but still a good time], but I didn't truly grow attached until watching the second movie about 4 months ago. Sing 2 unlocked some part of my brain- idk how [I know exactly how] but now I'm here- celebrating with a huge drawing of all of the [slightly redisigned] characters! HAhA-

All of the characters I drew, and whether or not the designs have been finalized

[Holy shit there's so many of them-]

I took a few creative liberties and gave a couple of them some new features- either for lore-relevance, or just because I think it looked perty. Mike's kinda jacked up [realizing that his damaged ear is hidden behind Gunter smh], Meena's got tusks, Eddie has horns, and I put them in different outfits as well [I've got wardrobe ideas for all of them lol].

So TLDR, I basically yassified them :/

[also fun fact, the second movie released on the 22nd of December- so they practically have the same anniversary date. Which is insane to me. Wondering if it's purposeful or coincidental they were released on nearly the exact same day. Will probably release something tomorrow too because of this-]

So...I've been thinking...

If you guys didn't know or it's buried in my old account somewhere, I'm thinking of remaking the Sing series. I don't know why, but I have a random thought of remaking the sing series.
