Faes and Celestials - General lore

The Faes of my imaginary world are bug-inspired fantasy people. They have features taken from/inspired by real-life bugs, while still mostly looking human. The rules for how these features work/are distributed are still pretty loose because I can't make up my mind and I like to keep my options open. Some will have magically retractable features, while others may just have them all the time. Some will have certain features that others don't. I'm just doing me, who cares about rules.

There are many types of Faes, from the tribal societies of Spiders to the hellish and mythical underwater cities of Crustaceans, not to mention a whole range of different insects with different societal organizations. I'll cover each of those in more detail in separate posts.

Celestials take inspiration from both real-life birds and angels/dragons. The bird inspirations aren't as strong as the Faes' bug inspirations because I kinda gave up halfway through (sorry, I'm simply not as knoweldgeable about bids nor as into them as I am with bugs), but they're technically here.

There are 2 types of Celestials, Angels and Dragons (I'm not sure I like those names but I haven't found anything better yet).

Angels are pretty much what you'd imagine with this name, normal human-looking people who can sprout wings. The wings do take very different shapes from person to person, some can be basic feathered wings but some will be like. Electricity arc vaguely shaped like wings. It can be anything, really, but it does allow all of them to fly. There's definitely some big christian influences in their culture, but we'll cover that in some other post.

Dragons are also human-shaped but they can have scales and slit pupils. They're like spicy humans. And some of them can turn into actual dragons, but those actual dragons are like. Inspired by the idea that birds are dinosaurs and dragons are inspired by dinosaurs and anyways, what if dragons looked more like feathered dinosaurs than just fully scaled lizards with wings y'know? (at least following the typical european dragon designs, I know there are other types of dragons on other cultures, but this is the one I'm most familiar with).

They're dressed in fancy old-fashioned army clothes with frills and lace, and a transparent cape with the motifs of a butterfly's wings on it.

Nous sommes très fières de vous présenter aujourd'hui un projet sur lequel nous travaillons depuis quelques mois déjà et qui, nous l'espérons, vous plaira tout autant qu'il nous enthousiasme !

Ci-dessous, vous trouverez différentes informations qui vous aideront à visualiser un peu mieux l'univers. Il ne s'agit-là que de précisions globales, des annexes viendront par la suite pour plus d'amples informations…

LE REGISTRE. Vous l'aurez certainement compris avec le contexte, l'histoire se déroule dans un univers totalement inventé, mêlant toutes les caractéristiques du registre de la fantasy à la Tolkien ou encore Blizzard (codes et culture médiévale mise en avant) à celui du steampunk avec des moyens de communication / transports bien plus modernes. Il s'agit d'une société imaginaire, où cohabitent différents peuples régis par un même système de pouvoir, une monarchie en l’occurrence.

L'HISTOIRE. En résumé, nous nous situons des milliers d'années après la réunification des royaumes, à l'aube du troisième âge. La précédente reine vient de mourir, laissant sa fille tout juste âgée de neuf ans lui succéder au trône (il s'agit d'une monarchie où se succèdent uniquement des femmes à la tête du royaume). Un événement qui déplaît à une partie du peuple, jugeant l'enfant beaucoup trop jeune pour gouverner et estimant que ce système de monarchie instaurée par les Hommes dure depuis trop longtemps. Des tensions se créent entre les différentes races, des camps se forment et la révolution est proche…

L'UNIVERS & LIEUX JOUABLES. Le RP se déroulera principalement dans la capitale du royaume, Eredhel, unique ville où cohabitent toutes les races alliées et soumises à la Couronne d'Opale. Les personnages auront bien entendu la possibilité de se balader dans divers coins de nature et villes aux alentours, mais l'action sera principalement axée sur la population Eredhienne. La ville sera divisée en plusieurs quartiers très différents les uns des autres, qui seront détaillés très prochainement. L'architecture médiévale se confronte à des systèmes beaucoup plus modernes, alimentés par une ligne énergétique magique qui remplace électricité et autres moyens à la sauce steampunk. Ainsi, à la place des écrans et des téléphones, il y aura un système d'orbes. Quand aux déplacements, nous avons pensé à un tramway sous-terrain/sous-marin comme vous pouvez le retrouver dans WoW à Hurlevent pour les connaisseurs.

LES PEUPLES. Il y a trois peuples principaux jouables. Nous retrouvons bien sûr les Hommes, dont les caractéristiques ne diffèrent pas de ce que nous connaissons aujourd'hui. Il y aura également les Elfes, se rapprochant de l'image véhiculée par les romans de fantasy à quelques détails près et les Changeformes, des Hommes ayant la capacité de se transformer en un animal dont il revêtent la fourrure. Il vous sera également possible de jouer des peuples mineurs, mais nous vous laissons la surprise lors de la découverte des annexes.. L'AVANCÉE. Il faut savoir que ce forum a déjà vu le jour il y a quelques années, mais nous le retravaillons depuis quelques mois déjà. De ce fait, il est plutôt bien avancé et nous mettons un point d'honneur à vous proposer un forum complet et agréable. Nous vous tiendrons informés ici des nouveautés ! • Le peuple des humains a été retravaillé. Désormais les Aïltariens peupleront les terres de Mythrandia.

• Quatre nouvelles races ont été écrites.

• La liste entière des différentes races a été créée.

• Le codage de la fiche annexe a été commandé et est en cours par thaleisse sur le même discord.

• Les noms des royaumes sont en cours de réflexion, mais pour le moment rien ne me plait. Plus écriture d'un royaume sur sept.

on neopets rp circa 2004, i DESPERATELY wanted to rp redwall, but redwall rps, while no uncommon, were not AS common as the other genres. but that led to me ALWAYS be asking to join Wolf RPs as a squirrel, and somehow 9/10 times they were all okay with it?? wolf rpers the chillest people imaginable

my horror story tho was joining a babysitter rp, and within 20 minutes getting death threats and being told i should never be allowed to have kids, because my character was like, mildly imperfect? pretty sure that person also tried reporting me. to this day i don’t know what i did wrong

I finished the proposal route of MCLAL Armin, episode 5. It cost me, 706 AP.   I got the illustration. Here is the summary: (This summary is the sequel of the summary positive episode 4: https://www.tumblr.com/magic-belodie/701260727312416768/i-finished-the-positive-route-of-mclal-armin)

You start this episode at Armin's apartment, Armin just comes home from work. Nothing really special happened at work. You came home early, Nina is closing the café today. You are looking into finding a new apartment for the both of you. But you couldn't find anything that fitted. So this weekend you will be looking further into it. A friend of Armin is making a new game and wants some people to test it. It is a co-op game. Armin really likes to test it with you. You smile, spending the weekend playing a game would do you a lot of good. The game is a classic RPG, medfan. It is for two players and the characters are complimentary. Armin's friend just wants to know the general experiences. Armin takes the game out of his backpack. He directly wants to start it. At least to check out the beginning. You put the game into the computer. It starts directly with choosing your character. You like that it is straight to the point. Armin thinks his friend will work out the details later. You get to choose between The knight of fire, or the mage of water. The knight uses a sword and the mage has magic. You choose the knight. You get to choose the outfit. It is the one from the character. You are ready for an adventure. The game starts. The game plays in the countreeside. You two met the mayor Deraim. He summoned you two because the world needs you. The Duke Ephraim Dred has raided the ruins of Ether Castle. He has taken the mirror of the worlds. The mirror hasn't been fully activated yet. The duke is going to awake evil dark armies with it. Those armies will sweep across the land and dominate the world. You two must prevent that from happening. You two have the magic of fire and water and are the only ones who can stop him. This is a big responsibility. But you two will do it. But you need for it the ring of a thousand paths. You two can find it at the tomb of the lost paths. It is a real labyrinth. Do you accept this task? And of course, Armin and you say yes. But before you do this task, you two have to help the mayor. His vegetable garden is invested with rats. If you save the garden, you will get the key to the tomb. It is a perfect way to get warmed up. The level starts: you see all the rats going up and down the screen. You get the ones at the tomatoes. And Armin is going after the ones at the pumpkins. You are ready to get them all. You use your sword to defeat the rats. It is going well, but then suddenly the music changes and the rats get demonic. Those rats are more difficult to defeat. But in the end, you two win. And all the vegetables are still okay. You two are going to see the Mayor again. You are off to a great start. He gives you the key. Armin and you go off into a forest and find the tomb. You two are both ready for the level. You are really into the game. Armin opens up the tomb with the key. You both walk slowly into the tomb, you two are afraid of traps. But maybe the trap is time, and you should go through it fast before it is too late. But you think that it is better to be careful. You go behind Armin. So you don't get hit both. Further down the path you two find a split. A fire door and a water door. Armin asks you what you two should do. You think that should take the water door and he the fire one. So you walk the other element than you have. You go into the water door, and soon you see water monsters. Armin goes into the fire door and gets to see fire monsters. You take the monsters down on your side and Armin on his. You two are outstanding adventures. Further up, the tunnel gets darker. You think it will get more difficult. Then suddenly the bell goes. It scared you, you were totally in the game. Armin thinks that it is just the delivery guy. Armin opens up the door and Nathaniel is standing in front of it. You get up to greet him. Nath really has brought burgers with him. He lost a bet. You want to bet, too, then you will get twice as many burgers. Nath first wants to pay his debt off to Armin, but is curious what you want to bet on. And you are willing to bet on anything as long as you win. You all sit down to eat. You are curious which bet Armin won. He says it just some work stuff, who catches the bad guy first. Technically, Nath always catches them. Armin is not allowed to go close one of them. That said, Nath wanted to talk to Armin about something. Nath looks at you. Armin tells you almost anything. He can talk in front of you. Nath is surprised. Some things are discreet. But Armin already broke that a long time ago. Nath thinks that Armin is lucky, Eric likes him. And that is because Armin can talk with Eric about dinosaurs. Nath and Armin have to help Castiel. They have to dig things up about plagiarism. The file about it was hidden with one of the burgers. Armin is into the case. Nath will cal him about it, from the station. Nath still likes his job a lot. His coworkers and everything are nice to him. The café just keeps going on because Eric drinks a lot of coffee. Nath is sure that Eric will keep on coming. Then Nath looks at the screens and is curious about what you two are doing. Armin directly says that it is nothing. Just a game that a friend of him made in a testing round. Nath wants to try two. But Armin and you are in the middle of a game. Nath turns towards Armin with a sad face. Because before, Armin was always testing games with Nath. Armin asks if he really fakes jealous. But Nath isn't faking he is deeply hurt. Armin starts to laugh. Nath turns towards you. But it won't work. He just has to wait his turn. It is fine, and Nath also would like to play games with you. It didn't take him long to switch sides. Nathaniel still has some work to do. He leaves and you two go back into the game. The Labyrinth is really hard and difficult to find your way. But you like it a lot, Armin has to tell his friend that this labyrinth is a great success. After a while, you finally end in a room with a chest. Armin thinks that it is too big for a ring. You think that it is a subtle comment on over packing. Maybe it is a trap too. There is only one way to find out. You two go closer to the chest, then you hear a laugh. It is the mayor. He was the duke the whole time. He needed you two to clear the way to the labyrinth. And now you are the only thing that stands between him and the ring to the thousand paths. The duke turns into a monster. You start to shoot fireballs at him and Armin uses his magic. The monster is very hard to hit. But after trying a few times, you two start to see the pattern. You two defeat him. You like the game a lot. The only thing left to do is to get the reward. You get to open the chest. Armin guards the door just in case. You run over to the chest. It goes open very easily. But there is not a lot inside, just a ring. You pick it up. You are a bit disappointed. It is just a ring. It doesn't say anything special. Armin asks if you are sure. You look in the chest once again. And you see a scroll. You read the scroll out loud and it says. Will you marry me? Armin says yes. You are a bit surprised and don't know what is going on. Armin says again, yes, he will marry you. You take off your headset and look at Armin. He is next to you. With in his hands a box with a ring in it. You have tears in your eyes. Armin asks if you want to marry him. Yes, Of course you want too. You get the illustration. He puts the ring on your finger, and you cover him with kisses. Armin and you are going to get married and you both can't believe it. You need to sit down. You look at your ring. It is beautiful. This is what you had in mind, the ring of a thousand paths. But the friend who made the game. Armin made the game to surprise you. He thought it would suit the two of you, and it did. It was perfect. But Armin is not good enough to make a game that long. He got help from an old friend from school. Armin owes him big time. The game is really cool. With a few modifications, Armin's friend will be sure to do anything with the game. Armin and his friends have been busy with this for a few months. You are surprised. Armin must have been stressed when Nath wanted to play the game. Yeah, he didn't want to ask Nath the same question. You are laughing and happy that you told Nath to wait his turn. But anyway, you two are getting married. You jump into Armin's arms. End of the episode? Then you see again the monster dying. Nath is playing the game. He finds the monster too talkative. That is what is funny. Anyway, let's see what the chest holds. Armin wants to open it. But Nath feels like he has done everything to defeat the monster and runs over to the chest. Nath only sees the ring. He doesn't also like how it looks. But then he sees the note. Do I want to marry you? Nath wasn't really jealous. Armin knew this wasn't a good idea. Nath asks if Armin has talked with you about it. You burst out laughing. Then Armin says that Nath has to stop talking nonsense and just has to agree to be his best man instead. Nath loves to be that and congratulates both of you. Then the episode really ends.

Je profite de cette note pour faire un petit point annuel sur mon travail ! BILAN 2023

Cette année à été très riche en terme de rencontre, marchés, dédicaces, interventions, commandes ! Un atelier BD et une conférence dans une université à Amiens, le début de mes streams sur Twitch, des interventions auprès de lycéen'nes à Nantes, des dédicaces en Belgique, des marchés de créateurices à Nantes et au Havre, un salon du livre queer à Metz, Quai des Bulles à St Malo...etc

Cela fait 11 ans que je suis à mon compte et 2023 à été la première année ou j'ai pu enfin me dégager un vrai salaire ! Et c'est aussi en grande partie grâce à mes mécènes sur Patreon qui me soutienne depuis un an déjà. Ce soutien me permet de mieux choisir mes commandes ou interventions, de refuser du travail gratuit sous prétexte de visibilité et de pouvoir -parfois- prendre mes week end pour me reposer.

Dans les points moins joyeux, le stress et la fatigue m'ont amené à une crise violente de ma maladie de Crohn pendant les mois de Mars-Avril-Mai 2023 et j'ai dû changer de traitement, l'ancien ne faisant plus effet. Le nouveau est plus efficace mais à aussi plus d'effets secondaires du fait que c'est un immuno-modulateur. Il défonce mes défenses immunitaires, ce qui fait que le moindre rhume risque de me clouer au lit pour 15 jours.

Je vous parle de tout ça, non pour faire pleurer dans les chaumières mais juste pour vous tenir au courant.

RECONNAITRANS

Mon but en ouvrant une page Patreon, en plus de pouvoir payer mes factures pendant les mois ou je n'avais pas de commandes/BD/marchés..etc, était de pouvoir finir les derniers témoignages de ReconnaiTrans qui patientent dans ma boite mail depuis des mois et mettre un point final à ce projet (en tout cas pour l'instant). Mais comme cette année à été, de façon très positive, assez intense en terme de travail (mais aussi des soucis de santé) je n'ai pas réussi à atteindre cet objectif.

Je ne vais pas abandonner pour autant, ce projet est très important pour moi et surtout je ne veux pas laisser tomber les témoignant'es qui patientent pour que je fasse leur récits. Je vais donc essayer cette année de mieux maitriser mon emplois du temps pour pouvoir mener cela à bien et poster au moins tous les 2 mois un nouveau témoignage.

NOUVEAUX PROJETS ET RÉSOLUTION

Cette année j'aimerais beaucoup réussir à faire quelques unes des notes de blog / webcomics qui remplissent mes tiroirs. Niveau sujet il y à pèle-mêle : tranche de vie, sujets féministes, sujets LGBTIA+, sujets peronnels/autobio, fiction medfan (médieval fantastique).

Mon agente est toujours en train de démarcher plusieurs de mes projets BD et jeunesse mais pour l'instant cela n'a pas l'air d'intéresser les éditeurs. Je me dis que si ça continue je vais peut être devoir publier uniquement en ligne gratuitement, quitte à faire un Ulule si cela plait.

On viens enfin de nous installer la fibre, donc je vais pouvoir refaire des lives twitch de temps en temps. Mon objectif est surtout de streamer des dessins ou illus que j'aurais en cours, mais pour cela il faut que je me dégotte un meilleur micro que celui de mon casque et que je teste mon set up actuel. Donc si tout va bien (et selon mes finances pour le micro) peut être que je pourrais streamer correctement vers Mars/Avril.

CONCLUSION

Je sais qu'il ne faut pas que je me fixe des objectifs trop haut, qui du point de vue de ma santé et de ma vie quotidienne (gestion de la maison, ménage, animaux, administratifs, rendez vous médicaux, gestion de mon shop, dédicaces, commandes, relations amicales et amoureuses...) serait juste impossible à réaliser. Mais je vais faire du mieux que je peux ^^

Je vous souhaite une belle année 2024, pleine de promesses, douceur, bienveillance mais aussi de manifs, militantisme et d'humanité.
