so New Amsterdam has been a show I'll watch with my mom occasionally and I always told myself i'd go back and watch from the beginning.

that is until today. I really really was thrown for a loop when she starts watching the final season of amsterdam and there's no sharpe and like good win has moved on?

Like I had to go look for answers. I know its freema wanting to leave the show but I also can't help feeling hurt I loved sharpwin so much!!!

I’m more confused than mad over the fact that Helen left Max at the altar. It just came out of nowhere. But I’m still pretty sure they will end up together. There’s been too much invested in their relationship and they’ve been written so beautifully up until this point. (Although none of my ships sail so I don’t know why I’m so confident).

Meanwhile, I’m choosing to focus on the fact that Max has Helen saved as “My Boo” in his phone. If someone could gif that I think it would make us all feel better.

also the explanation we were given for why they time-skipped past the majority of Helen's recuperation from the stroke basically amounted to "it would have been a bummer and the vibe this season is joy" ... only for them to end the season Like That. they were just telling us anything, apparently. there were so many other ways they could have had a dramatic cliffhanger without doing that to Sharpwin.

exactly anon!! they brushed through this storyline so fast, allegedly saying that it was because they didn't want to make helen suffer any more than she already had, and then they managed to keep making her suffer in the next eps and to top it all that freaking 4x22 cliffhanger... it looks like they said that only bc they couldn't say that they didn't have enough time or "want" to make it evolve in a more organic way.

it's really impossible to believe anything they say now, like they mentioned sharpwin having a baby in the future and we even got a scene where they talked about it, but with that fucked up season finale I don't even know what to expect anymore and if sharpwin will even be endgame (which if they're not it would be SO STUPID like what has all this buildup to their relationship and then all their storylines since they got together been for??)
