Raising my hand asking for more JMH lore drops! I went through your sad7 and masked7 tags a while ago and I was so curious to learn their stories. Also, there are more Seven variants? 👀👀
I'd love to hear whatever you'd want to share about them, little introductions or backstories, anything!
yep! so I have sad7, demon sad7, masked sad7, and terminal (all under their respective tags). that’s all I have so far, more variants will come depending on my ability to conjure up events.
that being said, sad7 and ALL variants exist separately from Mystic Messenger’s Saeyoung. sad7+variants and Saeyoung can coexist in the same world, they may not always interact.
I don’t want to give too much away! I try to drop hints here and there, I just need to stop being so cryptic about it 😭 for the regular Sad7, I’ve dropped some of the larger hints to try and point you guys in the right direction.
I’m very curious about people’s interpretation of it all.

hmm.... so how different are the various Sad7's as entities? like they're all separate from canon Saeyoung, and for the most part seem to be distinct from each other--like Sad7 and Demon Sad7 and Terminal all appear to be separate and distinct, like they could coexist in the same place at the same time. but what about Masked? from what I can gather he seems to be less an AU version of Sad7, like Terminal and Demon Sad7, but more a... transformation? bc in the one comic Masked does turn into regular Sad7. (i hope this makes sense lol i just had A Thought)
It makes sense! And you’re right about the “transformation” comic. When I did monthly events, I wanted to have comics that signaled the end of the event. So yes, Masked does turn into Sad7 in that comic.
However, Masked’s story (Missing Traits) has evolved more over the years with plot and other trait-less characters (Heartless, Suture, and the Collector). Masked is not Sad7.
And yes, all the Sad7 variants are separate entities that could exist in the same room together as they are from different stories.

no specific vibe really just going through tags and saw some sad7/masked 7/etc and was like "ok there seems to be a blog-specific au here but i can't find context for it". saw one for uhhh masked 7? where the caption was like "well yeah hes scared last time they met he tore his face off" and im like OKAY bro i need context for this i want more and i know nothing
Yep! so Sad7 exists outside of the normal Mystic Messenger world—that’s why Masked and REGULAR Seven have had contact.
in the Masked comic (assuming that’s what you’re referring to), Masked is a faceless entity that roams the world looking for his own face. he rips people’s faces off, trying to take their identity, but their “face” doesn’t fit. Seven looks almost exactly like Masked, so stealing his face was the best option, at least it seemed like it.
here’s the comic in case the tags don’t show it.
in the “to be continued” part, Masked turns back into normal Sad7 as the monthly event had ended.

hi welcome!! mmm first, Sad7 is sort of the blog “persona.” He runs this blog!
There’s a lot of context that even long-time followers don’t know. I’ve hosted events before to try and reveal some of that information. In short, there are other versions of Sad7; Demon Sad7, Terminal, and Masked Sad7.
Im curious: what are the vibes you’re getting?

I am so very envious of how you’re still waist deep in mystic messenger. My love for it withered away like a plant that’s gone unwatered. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to it, but I very much love seeing your art again! You’ve improved so much since the last time you were active on this hellsite ❤️
aw i’m sorry you’re not interested in it anymore. i’ve yet to play Another Story, i don’t have time with my current work schedule… honestly i haven’t played it in about a year or 😞
however! Sad7, Masked, and Termie are very much my characters and i would love to keep working on their stories. while they are Mysme related, i still want to put my own twists on things.
AND. thank you for sticking around this long on my blog. i wish i were more active… i’m really trying to get back into art for the sake of people who have commissioned me akshdbs. it means a lot to see people still interested in my work. sometimes i get discouraged, but asks like this help me a lot <333

Ah okay, thank you! That comic made me wonder if it had anything to do with why Sad7 doesn't like taking his glasses off, since in the Masked comic it was when he put them back on that he turned back into regular Sad7 and got his (a?) face back. but if they're wholly separate entities then I'm off the mark 😅
