Hi! Yes some of the distortion in Issue 3.5 was added in digitally: Brian's eye, and parts of Alex (the last panel where hes SKREE-ing is traditional). But a lot of it is a combination of the two; often I will draw the illustrations partially distorted in some way, scan then, and then mess with them further digitally.

Been rewatching Marble Hornets and reading the comics so-

I think its fun to interpret hoodie and brian as a system and its an idea that I like to poke around with (the ideas are complex the rituals are intricate) but the canon interpretation I take is that brian is a guy who got messed up by the ark/operator. 3.5 shows he's more familiar with the ark than the others are and has been there possibly way more than anyone else. supported by how he's conscious and active even in death versus jay and alex. the ark is designed to break down your will and brian thinks of it as a gauntlet. the line "I will be stuck in this loop forever. I don't care." makes me think about pre-everything brian. do you think he had a stubborn streak in college. or maybe something from his upbringing, the need to get into college, to move further into other parts of life, to do something. lots to think on. in the beginning of 3.5 it seems brian has an idea he might be dead but hes not sure yet, possibly because the ark is designed to be a disorienting place. he understands hes dead by the end of the comic, "So [Tim's] still alive?". its been said before but it still shows so much of brian's motivation that knowing alex is no longer a threat and that tim is still alive is what brian needs to let go. 3.5 has so much to chew on.

So I’ve been thinking about something, but slight spoilers for the mh comics, mainly 3.5 but also touched briefly on one bit from issue 4 so I’ve added a read more just incase.

so you guys know how in issue 3.5 we see what happened when Brian ended up in the ark, and all the weird shit that happened there? And the getting thrown around between different places for a bit?

y’all ever think about what it was like for the others when they ended up there?

What places did they end up in? What did they see? What was going through their heads through it all? Was there any kind of post-death clarity like Brian had? Were they in any pain? Did they try to find a way out? If so for how long? What made them stop? Did they just give up? How did Jay end up stuck to the ground like that? also in issue 4, when they end up in the ark and Jessica sees like- a messed up memory (was it a memory? Idk it’s hard to explain) of Amy?

do you think any of them saw something like that?

I think about it a lot. I wonder what they all went through when The Operator took them away. I wonder how much more they suffered even after they were supposed to have died.
