Ursa Wren is giving me Satine vibes aesthetically
Like oh it's funny to see that former deathwatch member Ursa Wren head of Clan Wren also has a title (Countess), an aristocratic accent, a big ass mural of of herself in her throne room, and a somewhat similar architectural style to Satine's Sundari and Kalevala
Almost like Satine was pretty culturally traditional (which is stated in tcw lol but widely ignored) generally and her thing was political and specifically about the rule of violence
(Ursa Wren is a cool character. i'm surprised i haven't seen the kind of discourse around her the kryze sisters always get considering her similarites and connection to both.)

I am genderposting a lot 2day but. it’s weird to experience genuine gender euphoria bc for a long time I mistook my desire to look like men as a desire to be with them and now looking in the mirror and having that same impulse about myself is very jarring in a positive way. like oh man I wish I looked like that. oh wait I do now. cool

Commander Fox Is Completely Fine Chapter Update!
Chapter 61: Family; Found And Otherwise
Summary:
Fox breathed out slowly, sipping his brandy and staring out of the window as the brightly coloured speeders zipped past. It was late, or early. Either way, he should really be asleep.
Notes:
So writing is actually going much better than I anticipated. It turns out the break from writing this is exactly what I needed to actually have ideas and things to write about again! No regular update schedule, but hopefully it won't be too long in-between updates.
This chapter is dedicated to my good buddy @chiafett, whose post about Quinlan I think about at least once a day.
Many thanks to @cyarbika and @mandoposting along with the whole cdb server to really help me develop Fox's little breakdown and his feelings regarding the treatment of the clones. You guys really help make my writing worse/better.

Star Wars Secret Santa Gift Exchange

Why we do this
Din Djarin rarely visited his Convent. He spends his time chasing bounty and so he rarely had the chance to be among his kind. Today however he was there.
After a very urgent sounding message from Paz Viszla he had dropped everything and had returned.
With quick strides walked through the Navarro underground. It was the familiar warmth and darkness until he arrived in the unusually well-lit main hall.
Din stopped.
Nearly the whole convent was there, most of the adult warriors and all the children in the convents care.
“What is going on?” Din turned to one of the warriors at the entrance. „It sounded urgent. Are we in danger? Did someone die?”
The warrior chuckled. “Oh yes, my vod. It was indeed a very urgent matter.”
Din tilted his head in confused anticipation.
“We ran out of uj’alayi and tihaar. You got any?”
“You called me back for cake and booze?”
“Uj-cake Is pretty important. Especially for winter celebrations. And tihaar is always handy to have whatever the occasion.”
Din felt his eyes twitch. He had left an especially high bounty for this which could have paid for a much-needed repair of the old Razor Crest. OR he could have taken a nap. Kriff he needed too rest. Instead, he just replied “Alright. Winter celebration. What are we celebrating?”
The warrior chuckled again. “Winter.”
Din exhaled.
This was leading nowhere.
He started to look for Paz. Maybe he could clear things up.
Paz Viszla was across the hall. The giant man looked even larger among the foundlings, a mother nuna surrounded by her baby nuna. He had a large apron over his armour and distributed uj-cake to the children.
Din waved towards his brother in arms.
“Din! Where were you? And you don’t happen to have some spare cake for the oldest children?”
“Working. And no. What is this?”
“The traditional winter celebration.”
“Since when do we have this tradition? And Navarro has a hot steady climate. There is no winter here.”
Paz shook his head. “I see. You never had the chance to see for yourself. But back on Mandalore we used to gather once a year for this.”
“For what?”
“Well, just to be together.”
Din was not convinced but Paz turned around to one particularly demanding kid tugging at the apron and started giving out cake to the waiting children again.
He looked around. The adults chatted in sombre tones. The children munched on their sweets.
Someone was missing.
Din turned around and left the main hall.
XXX
The Forge was as hot as usual but, in more disarray, than usual. The Armourer was in the middle, working away tirelessly.
“Greeting Lady Armourer. What are you doing?”
She looked up. “Working.”
“I can see that, Lady Armourer.”
She kept working. Din did not move, his visor turned to her.
“Lady Armourer.” He finally gave in to his impatience. “Do you know what the is happening with the convent?”
Thump. Thump. Thump.
“They are celebrating winter.”
Thump. Thump.
He grimaced, his helmet hiding every emotion.
Thump. Thump.
“On Mandalore we enjoyed winters. We met at the fires, shared stories, enjoyed food, gave out presents and cherished being among kin.”
“That is it?”
THUMP.
She turned towards him with her heavy hammers in her arms. “Do you think it’s not enough to do as our ancestors did?”
“Never dreamed of it.”
Thump.
“Good.”
She turned towards her anvil again and continued working.
Din peaked over her shoulder.
She was working on knifes. Many little knifes.
“Little daggers for the foundlings?”
“Daggers are a very appropriate present for future Mandalorian warriors.”
XXX
Din was sitting on the floor cross-legged, pinned down by the mightiest of warrior. A little child had crawled into his lap, cake smeared on its face and a little new dagger safely secured at its belt.
He looked down at the little snoring kid.
“You got conquered?”
Din looked up. It was Paz, still with the apron and a handful of sleeping children in his armoured arms.
“Looks like you have been too.” Din replied.
“The kiddos? They have not yet made me take of the helmet.”
“You do this for them?”
Paz settled next to him with a groan. “mhm. Yeah, one could say that. What about you?”
Din looked down at the child snoring in his arms and drooling at his armour.
“Maybe. One day.”
Paz chuckled. “I am sure one day you will find someone worth leaving even the best bounty behind, vod.”

I'm a couple of episodes into the Rebels Mando/darksaber arc and yes, it is true, The Mandalorian does seem to have just recovered Rebels ground but with less nuance and maturity oh well
#not news to anyone who's not still catching up with Rebels#I'm not really shading The Mandalorian it was there to have a good time not a serious time#just coasting on the automatic prestige of being the live action version i guess#star wars rebels#i've not even got to Bo Katan yet#mandoposting again
