I love the Ring Babies! I was just flipping through Unfinished Tales and wondering how it would go if Celebrimbor sends the babies away to keep them safe from Sauron, just as he does the rings? He gives Nenya to Galadriel to foster, and Vilya to Gil-galad, and Gil-galad sends Narya to Cirdan... I believe you mentioned this in an ask recently, but I'm so curious how it would play out! With Galadriel & Celebrian raising Nenya, and Gil-galad & Elrond raising Vilya, and Narya growing up by the sea!
Ah! I've thought about this a little! I figure that if the babies were left as, well, babies, with their bearers, they'd likely try to pass them of as Normal elflings to keep them safe from Sauron's notice.
But yeah I don't have a lot of jeadcanons about this timeline at the moment, though I may do some art for it later! I'd love to do some cute pictures of the Bearers and the young ring babies :)
I did have one random idea that, if Gil-Galad is fostering one of them (or two at one point, I can't quite remember how soon he passed Narya to Cirdan) that it's possible that once he's killed the elves might try and get Vilya appointed as the new high king. Like, they assume that since he looks like Gil-Galad (due to Tyelpe making Vilya with him in mind) and he raised him it's highly likely he's his son. And as nobody seems to know how Gil-Galad got born they arnt likely to question how Gil-Galad came by a son either x)
Of course that could change the entire layout of the third age, with the elves still having a high king to hold them together a bit more.
Also hot dang it would make any confrontation with Vilya and Sauron even /more/ intense, since his unknown other dad has now killed both his bio and adopted dad :/ ( that and Sauron's trying to use his soul to help him take over the world and whatnot)
