summary: you didn’t know that a certain midfielder had their eyes on you, little did you know it was the start of your happy ending. pwnt!reader, arsenal!reader
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ⋆✦⋆ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
if anything, you were harsh on yourself. when you found out that mal was already with dansby, you felt crestfallen and a bit angry at the world. she was your first love after all, you first met her at a game against ucla.
you played for the tar heels, with now world class footballers like lotte wubben-moy and alessia russo. she had caught your attention, and you had befriended her. little did you know, it was going to be your downfall.
the moment you found out by a friend, you had distance yourself from the world. staying away from social media, hardly interacting with new people, and you focused during training.
you had pushed yourself to the limit that you had gotten injured. it was a minor one, an overstretched calf making you skip a few games. your parents were in disbelief in the way, mal had treated you because you had introduced her as the one you’re courting.
courtship was quite traditional in the philippines, it is usually know as manligaw. in which a manliligaw or suitor would express their feelings for a person through harana (singing of romantic love songs), they would also recite poems, write letters and as usual gift giving.
you would often prove your worth to the person’s family, if you’re good enough for their daughter. courting can take a few years, and the one being courted can have many suitors. it’s not often that the one being courted says yes, to the suitor. but this is the proper rules and standards in traditional filipino courtship are set by the philippine society.
but you had gotten over her throughout your college years, you focused on yourself. you didn’t want to sit there and sob about it. now here you were playing for one of the greatest clubs in the women’s super league.
you had been signed by arsenal after you had graduated with a double major in physiotherapy and education. lotte had put in a good word for you, it also helped that arsenal had kept an eye on you during your college years.
yet here you are, a game against barcelona femini. one of the top female football clubs in the world, they dominated the liga f as they have the most championships.
“nervous, l/n?” kim, the team’s skipper asked as you walked alongside her. the match was about to start, and you were part of the starting line up.
“it’s against barca, who wouldn’t be nervous.” you said, as you took your place in the line. kim chuckled at your behavior before going in front of the team’s goalkeeper.
you didn’t know that a certain spanish midfielder watched your interaction, nor did you notice that she caught a glimpse at you. you were too busy talking to your mascot, swinging her hand back and forth softly. the kick off had started, and the game went exactly how you thought it would go.
in the first half, both teams have gotten a yellow card. more specifically beth mead, katie mccabe and irene paredes. there were also three goals scored by barcelona, caldentey, alexia putellas who scored an absolute banger of a goal in the 42nd minute and lastly, oshoala who scored just a few minutes after alexia.
you were walking to the tunnel, a water bottle filled with electrolytes was in your hand, as you occasionally took a few sips.
“as expected from barcelona.” you whispered, causing lia to laugh at your comment. the lovely bun that you did was a bit untidy after the first half.
“they are a top team n/n, but you’ve been playing well.” lia said, ruffling your hair as she entered the locker room first.
during the half time break, you were told the tactics to change the game. and that’s exactly what you did, in the 63rd minute, you sent a great cross to caitlin who managed to get a tap on the ball, sending it into the top right corner where paños wasn’t able to save.
you watched as caitlin did her celebration, the rest of the team had joined her in the huddle while you stayed in the back. in the 74th minute, frida had scored an absolute goal but it wasn’t enough to win the game.
the whistle had blew signaling the game had ended. you sighed in frustration, as you lifted the end of your shirt to wipe the sweat on your face. not knowing how a certain midfielder beelined her way towards you.
she caught a glanced at your exposed stomach, as she felt a bit flustered. you had dropped down your shirt, only to see the midfielder had averted her gaze to your eyes.
“i’m aitana, you played really well.” she said, as she held her hand out for you to grab.
“i’m y/n, thanks—you also played really well.” you said, as you grabbed her hand at a leisurely pace.
“want to swap shirts?” you gave her a soft nod, before tugging off your shirt. you had handed her yours, the number #17 with the last name, l/n on the back.

what happened in a world where reader played on the USWNT in the 2019 World Cup?
part one (part two here)
Tumblr media
Knowing that the call at eight am could change the pathway of my career, I couldn’t sleep. My mind spins rapidly as I tried to close my eyes and manipulate myself into believing that tomorrow would be an ordinary day, but that didn’t work.
Hi! My name is Y/n L/n and I am a soccer player who plays for club Olympique Lyon. I am a forward who many people call the “next big thing,” since I am only 19 years old.
After winning the Champions League final with Lyon, scoring a brace which involved a penalty, my career seemed to go in a great path that was unordinary for a teenager.
I sat on my bed, criss-crossed, as I stared at the digital alarm clock on my bedside table. 4:38am. Three hours and twenty two minutes until I get the call.
After traveling to my hometown in the United States, Virginia Beach, I traveled to the last International camp, before the World Cup, in order to “try out” for a World Cup roster spot. My mentality is great, my skills during the camp were phenomenal and I believe I proved that to the coaches, but I am young.
The coaches will prioritize other forwards like Alex Morgan, Tobin Heath, Megan Raphinoe, and Christen Press first. I am aware of that. They’ve won the 2015 World Cup four years ago and have the experience to go up again. However, everyone knows that the USWNT will need to bring on youngsters to set themselves up for future competitions, so I have confidence that I'll be the one they’ll call.
Three hours and twenty minutes later, I sat at my dining room table in Lyon, preparing for the unexpected.
My phone’s flashlight goes off a few times and my screen brightens at the sight of my International Coach’s number.
“Hey.” I spoke first as my finger pressed on the green button. The nervousness in my voice was present, I wanted this decision to go my way.
“Hi Y/n! How are you feeling right now!?” My United States coach, Jill Ellis, asked.
“I’m- Um— I’m nervous.” I told the truth. I heard a small chuckle come from the coach which I raised my eyebrows at. The tension on my end could be cut with a sharp knife. The lack of sleep made my nerves worse too.
“Well I have some news for you.” Jill said. I swallowed on nothing as the next few seconds can predict how my day– sorry— year will go. I know she has to call other players about the decisions for them so our call won’t last long, thankfully.
“Let me start off by saying that all of the coaching staff, including myself, needed to consider someone who is young and has a lot of quality. We were impressed by the amount of work you've put into our international camps and we’ve kept up on your club experience at Lyon for more reference. So, we’ve chosen you to be on the roster to represent the United States in the 2019 World Cup.” The excitement in Jill’s voice grew when she announced that I would be in the World Cup.
However, most of what she said sounded muffled through the happy tears that poured down my eyes. I couldn’t believe it! My hard work paid off.
“Thank you!” I said.
“No Thank you Y/n! We’ll see you soon, Bye!” Jill ended the call before I jumped in joy.
A couple of months later, I sat on the bench in France as the USWNT was up against Thailand in the group stage. It was the 64th minute and we were up 7-0. As I sat on the bench, my heart raced faster out of nervousness. Eventually, my head turned when I heard her call my name. I am excited, but my stomach felt like there was a rock in it. The weight of expectations settled squarely on my shoulders as I looked at the ongoing game.
We are winning the game by seven, but I still wanted to prove my best to the coach, teammates, and the fans. When I stood up, my legs felt like jelly making my way to the touchline. The crowd's roar was deafening, every step closer to the pitch amplifying my nerves.
“You’re going to go on for Raphinoe. We are up 7-0 but use this as an opportunity to get a feel of the field and experience.” Jill spoke with empathy as she patted on my back, allowing me to do the required warmup on the sideline before standing at the midline.
I tried to shake off the doubts, reminding myself of the countless hours of practice that had brought me to this moment. The nerves in my legs wouldn’t calm down. Maybe I can use that as a source of adrenaline.
Running onto the field in replacement for Raphinoe, the enormity of the occasion hit me like a ton of bricks. The stadium seemed to stretch endlessly all around me, filled with thousands of spectators watching my every move. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. The ball was at the other end of the field, giving me a moment to collect myself.
Then, Julie Ertz shot the ball over the left side of the field to gain space. The ball landed on my ivory-colored cleat and I dribbled around a Thailand opponent before passing to Alex Morgan who lightly tapped the ball behind the net. Goal!
My jaw dropped in realization as Alex jogged over to hug me. Some of the girls on the pitch came to congratulate me on the assist as others clapped their hands. I didn’t take it offensively, we are up 8-0 now and there's not much to celebrate now besides the inevitable win. My first touch in the World Cup gave an assist which I later found impressed spectators.
I glanced at my teammates when the game started again, finding reassurance in their encouraging, yet concentrated, nods and smiles. They had confidence in my abilities, even if I struggled to find it within myself sometimes. With each passing second, my nerves began to settle, now replaced by a fierce determination to prove myself worthy of wearing the US jersey.
Eventually, I found myself caught up in the rhythm of the play. My eyes were on the ball, blocking out the noise of the crowd and the pressure of the moment. With each touch and pass to a teammate, my confidence grew and my movements became more fluid and precise.
Then, in the 73rd minute, it happened. A perfectly timed pass by Samantha Mewis found my feet. At this point I wanted to be the goalscorer, not the assist. With a burst of speed, I raced towards the goal and dribbled around the defenders who were in the way of the goal, the screaming chants of the crowd fading into the background as they saw what I was doing. At that moment, there was only me, the ball, and the goal.
My right foot unleashed a powerful shot, the ball rocketing into the back of the net with a stunning curve. Goal! The stadium erupted into cheers, the sound washing over me like a tidal wave of euphoria as my teammates ran to congratulate me on my first ever goal in the World Cup. For a brief moment, I allowed myself to bask in the glory of my achievement, the weight of my nerves finally lifted off of my shoulders. The game ended in a 13-0 win for us!
Later in the World Cup tournament, I found myself on the bench as my heart pounded at the match in front of me. Thanks to Alex Morgan and Christen Press who scored in the Semifinal against the Lionesses, we were in the World Cup final against the Dutch.
As the game enters the 79th minute, with the score being 2-0, the coach calls my name. This took me by surprise since I didn’t believe that any substitutes would join the final. When I stood up, my legs felt like lead as I made my way onto the pitch for Tobin Heath, who had an injury earlier in the tournament and couldn't play all 90 minutes. The roar of the crowd washes over me, drowning out the doubts that threatened to consume me since I am on the right wing.
With only minutes remaining, I can’t make a mistake. I have to make every second count. We are up 2-0 but the Netherlands could easily catch up if we make a few errors, they’re EURO champions and have a statement to make for the world.
As I focus on the ball, blocking out the noise of the crowd and the pressure of the moment, the 89th minute comes along. Krieger gets the ball from a Dutch forward and launches the ball in the air towards Rose Lavelle. The girl who scored the second goal in the final headed the ball over the field again before it landed onto my feet— This is my chance.
My feet take the ball towards the goal. Veenendaal, the Dutch Goalkeeper, sets herself up in a ready position. As I race closer to the goal, my heart pounds in my chest. The defenders close in but I dribble around them effortlessly. An Oranje defender missed her chance to side tackle me as my left foot unleashed a powerful shot. The ball grazed the tip of Veenendaal’s fingers and the ball hit the back of the net with stunning precision. Goal!
The stadium erupts into cheers as I run to the corner of the pitch to celebrate. A typical knee slide that allowed my knees to slide through the soft grass before I stood up and turned to my teammates who rushed to congratulate me. Everyone on the bench got up and ran to me as well to celebrate. At that moment, the voice in my head told me that I’ve done it. My goal gave everyone the reassurance that we secured a World Cup win for the USWNT four times.
After winning the Bronze Ball, Gold Medal, and being able to take pictures with the World Cup trophy itself, I cried. The tears wouldn’t stop after my bestfriend Mallory Pugh hugged me as she cried as well. We were so happy, I have never felt so proud of myself and my team.
Hopefully 2023 will secure us a three-peat….

Quoting Song Lyrics
Reader x uswnt (platonic)
Summary: Reader starts quoting song lyrics...
A/n: So instead of making a whole incorrect quotes series of reader quoting song lyrics, I decided to make just a fic of it. The incorrect quotes can you find here and here. It comes from a prompt list that you can find here.
Enjoy!
Practice was hard today. Somehow you laid more on the grass then that you were standing, and that for a practice. Two things kept you from storming off the field right now.
Thing one was that you almost knew for certain that you would start in the next game, if you would leave the training now, you don't even think you would be playing the next game.
Thing two was that the one song you listened to before you came on the field was keeping you up. The thing was when you listened to your music, you knew that when your headphones were off, you would be stuck with the songs you heard, and that was now the problem.
Again, you hit the ground, you decided to lay for a second more. 'I'm a survivor', you mumbled behind your breath. Apparently, Tobin decided to bring you to the ground, but she was nice enough to help you up, meanwhile hearing you mutter something.
'Did you say something?', she asked. You Shaked your head in reply, but you said nonetheless thank you.
You were lucky it wasn't a day where one of you got mic'd up, because if your teammates found out that you were quoting song lyrics in practice, you knew they would always remember.
'I'm not gonna give up', you continued, hoping that you won't hit the turf much more before training would end. And it seems like somebody heard your prayers, because practice has ended, and you didn't eat any more grass.
It was time for you to go back to the locker rooms, you walked next to Ashley Sanchez, but it was not your intention to let you hear your next sentence: 'Nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be so hard', what you didn't expect was that Ashley heard you and needed to smother her laughter when she realized you were quoting "The Scientist" from Coldplay.
Ashley was smart enough to keep her mouth shut and not to say anything if she wanted to hear you quote a song once again.
Now arrived at the locker room you sat in your cube, next to Emily Sonnett. If she caught you quoting any song lyrics, you knew your teasing free life would end. You had some more songs in your head, and your mouth just couldn't keep shut.
'I found it hard, was hard to find, oh well, whatever, never mind', this time it was time for Nirvana.
'Oh my god, y/n, are you quoting a song?', you were doomed when you heard this sentence come out of the mouth of Sonnett. You wanted to go through the floor now, because Sonnett got the attention of most of the girls who were in ear range.
And still your mouth couldn't keep shut, while you were shaking your head you said accidently: 'I feel stupid and contagious'.
'If you are quoting lyrics now, were you doing that also on the field when I helped you up?', Tobin asked. 'Sadly', you mumbled in response.
'I know you love to listen to music, but does this mean you can sing also?', somebody asked.
'I'm worse at what I do best', was your reply while shrugging your shoulders.
'Are you saying now that you say that your bad in soccer or in singing?', Christen scolded you for saying something like this.
'Singing', you said.
'I think you can sing really good', Mallory Pugh chimed in, 'why don't you let us hear more?'
'Because I just can't sing', your reply was fast. Grabbing your stuff to head to the bus.
------
Who thought it was smart to play a board game with 24 people? But for you it was much better then to play truth or dare or watch a horror movie. So somebody thought it was fun to play yatzee and it was finally your turn.
The dices were given to you and here it came. You were thanks to a lucky roll on the winning side.
'I used to roll the dice, feel the fear in my enemy's eyes', you sang, ''viva la vida'' was one of your favourite songs from Coldplay and you knew the song all too well. Next thing you knew was that you felt something itch.
You looked around and saw Rose, with only one shoe on, the item that hurt you was her other shoe.
'Stop it please, or I will throw a book at you', Rose said trying to send you a glare.
'I'm sorry I can't help myself', you threw your hands up, but only to take the cookie roll the winner would get, and you had won obviously.

Coming Home for Christmas - (Mal Pugh x reader)
Mal loved Christmas
It was without a doubt her favourite time of the year. Every year it felt like she was 6 years old again as her excitement grew with each passing day getting closer and closer to Christmas. She just loved everything about it. The playing in the snow. Spending time with the family. Belting out the lyrics to Christmas songs. Drinking hot chocolate while snuggling up in front of the fire.
But what really made Christmas special was the people she spent it with.
One of the few downsides of being a professional soccer player is the lack of time. She spent so much of the year away from family and always training whether it be for club or the national team meant she didn't get to see her family as much as she would have liked. Not to say she regretted any of it. It was the one of the few sacrifices of being on one of the best teams in the world. No, what she regretted was the lack of time. She regretted how time seemed to slip by so easily. It just seemed to slip through her hands. She could do nothing but watch as it helpless slipped away.
But that's what made the holidays even better. She cherished the time she got to spend surrounded by her family and friends. It just made the holidays just so special no matter how stressful it was at times.
It was also a constant reminder of her relationship.
Y/n L/n has been in Mal's life since she was 6 years old. She has been there through the highs and lows of her life and her career. They had done practically everything together. Growing up she attended every single one of Mal's games and whenever she needed someone to help her practice Y/n was always there to fill whatever position was required. Y/n was Mal's first call after getting called up the National Team and you better believe your ass that Y/n was there in the front row cheering her on when she made her debut. It was only after Y/n surprised her at the game did she realised that she had fallen for her best friend.
Mallory had fallen and had fallen hard
So you can only imagine her delight when on Christmas Day 2017 after both being caught under the mistletoe together Y/n kissed her confessing how she's been harbouring feelings for the forward for a while now. Mal was so dazed by what was happening that she could only stare shocked at the poor girl leading her to believe she didn't feel the same. It was only when the girl started to stumble over her words apologizing profusely for her actions did Mal regain her senses and pull her back into a gentle kiss.
And that was the beginning of their relationship.
It also didn't hurt that it was the same day a year later that they told each other that they loved each other. Christmas for Mal was her favourite time of year for all those reasons. I mean how could you possibly hate Christmas after all that? She had everything she needed. But this year it was slightly different. She had the snow, she had the carols, she had the presents. She even had family.
But she didn't have Y/n.
See while Mal decided to join the Bruins and eventually The Spirit, Y/n enlisted in the Army. Ever since she was younger all she wanted to do was help people. She wanted to make people's lives better. She wanted to do some good in the world. So she became a medic for the Army. Running into battle to help the people who help serve and protect their country. And although it was tough they preserved. Y/n's selflessness was one of the reason she fell in love with her and as much as she hated being away from her, Mal knew that she couldn't stop Y/n from doing what she wanted to do and that was to help people.
She missed her girlfriend. But Mal knew that it wouldn't be for much longer. Y/n promised she would be here for Christmas. It was their holiday. She would never miss such and important day for the two of them. And she never breaks her promises. Which is why Mal as happy as could be answered the facetime request immediately after seeing her girlfriend's name flash on the screen.
She immediately stopped everything she was doing and smiled as she answered the facetime request. She practically squealed when she saw the image of her girlfriend who's been away from her for over a year now, "Hey Babe!" But her smile faltered when she saw Y/n give her a weak smile in return, "Hey Love". Mal scrunched up her eyebrows, "What's wrong?" Y/n sighed and bites the corner of her lip as she stares back at her long term girlfriend.
Immediately Mal knows something is wrong. Mal has known her girlfriend long enough to know that her has a habit of biting the corner of her lip when she's nervous about something.
Or something has gone terribly wrong
"What's wrong?" Mal asks as she frowns lightly at the screen. Y/n's shoulders slumped as she released a big sigh dragging her hand down her face. This did nothing to ease Mal's nerves, "Y/n?" Y/n looked sadly at the Mal as she wanted nothing more than to hug her in this moment after the disaster of a day she had today, "There was an attack on the base...".
Mal's eyes widen, "Oh my god! Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She quickly shakes her head, "No! No I'm fine. Everyone's fine. A few bumps and bruises but nothing we can't handle". Mal could see Y/n look down no doubt playing with her fingers before she looked back up at her sadly, "The plane on base that was planning on bringing us home was damaged in the attack". Mal's breath hitched as Y/n continued, "It was the only plane on base at the moment and there's a storm incoming and they don't think they can get a plane here in time before it hits".
"What does that mean?" Mal asked her voice dropping to a whisper. She tried to look anywhere else but her y/e/c met Mal's brown orbs lacking their usual sparkle, "I don't think I'm going to be home for Christmas".
It was that moment that Y/n wished nothing more than to tell her it was a terrible joke. She could feel her heart break as she watched as Mal's face dropped. The smile that never failed to light up a room disappeared in a second.
And the worst of it all was the fact that there was hundreds of miles in between them stopping her from comforting the love of her life.
"I'm really sorry Love. But because of the storm they can't get another plane to get us home. And it means that they're short on medics so they need me to stay until they can get someone to replace me. I swear Mal if there was a way-" she tried to soften the blow as if it would relieve the forward in some way.
Mal could see how distraught the medic was at telling her the devastating news. She knew that she would rather give her left arm than miss Christmas at home. She knew that she was trying her best to seem okay for her because as much as Mal hated the idea of not being together for Christmas.
She knew that Y/n hated it more
"Babe?" Mal says stopping Y/n from her ramble before she went into a downward spiral. She tries to put on her most convincing smile as she looks at her through the camera, "Y/n it's okay. I-its okay really. There's nothing you can do about it. It's just really unfortunate timing". Her face softens as she looks at me sadly, "You know I'm going to do everything in my power to get back home to you as soon as possible right?" Mal smiles lightly, "I know".
It looked like she wanted to say more before her name was called sounding very urgent, "Shit Love I'm really sorry I have to go. His condition just dropped-". But I shake my head, "It's okay go save a life". She snorted at the saying her girlfriend had taken to telling her everytime she had to go away. She quickly kissed her hand putting it to the camera before quietly whispering, "I love you superstar". I smile at her softly, "I love you too Hero". She gave me one last smile before the call disconnected.
Mal sighed as she dropped her phone burying her head in her hands. The most important holiday of the year and she's missing the most important person in her life. Mal loved Christmas.
But this Christmas already seemed off to a bad start.
............
"Is everything okay Mal Pew Pew?" Sonnet asks as she dropped into the seat across from the sombre forward. Everyone noticed that the forward's mood had dropped significantly since the day before. Everyone knew how excited she got at Christmas. The already happy going forward just seemed to shine even brighter at Christmas.
So what happened between yesterday and now that made the forward do a complete 180?
"Yeah what's up? There's been something off with you since yesterday" Lindsey adds as the rest of the team listened in on the conversation. Mal just checks her phone once more only to see that there is still no new message from Y/n. The forward sighs as she runs her hand through her hair, "Y/n's base was attacked".
Everyone's eyes widen as they look at the younger player. "What? Is she okay?" Rose asks sitting up. Mal nods, "Yeah she's okay but she won't be home for Christmas". Everyone was silence. They all knew how important Christmas was for Mal and Y/n. They saw how much the two loved each other. They were the light of each others lives. And they knew how devastated they must be being away from each other at such an important time of the year.
"Awe we're sorry Mal" Christen says as she drops into the space beside the forward with Tobin right beside her as always. Mal shrugs trying to play it off, "It's okay. There's nothing we can do about it. Just really unfortunate timing". Nobody says anything knowing that nothing could make up for the loss of a love one on the holidays. All Christen did was pull the younger forward into a hug.
After all the hell that was the Corona Virus the team decided to hold a massive team celebration for the holidays. All the player's families were all going to join at the end of camp and all spend Christmas together. And while Mal was grateful she would be surrounded by so much friends and family, nothing could replace Y/n being there.
If only she knew how much Y/n was busting her ass trying to get home to her....
...........
Y/n stood back straight hands behind her back as the general looked her over. He eyed one of his top medic up and down, "Are you sure this is what you want?" But all she did was nod respectfully, "Yessir". Even though he look a bit reluctant he nodded nonetheless, "Although I don't like it". Y/n  tensed up before he continued, "I respect your decision and understand why you want to". Y/n relaxed the tiniest bit as she nodded at her superior, "Thank you sir". He starts to nod before he starts filling out some paperwork, "Go pack your bags".
Y/n scrunched her face lightly, "Sorry sir? I don't understand". He just glances up at me with a small grin, "You have a plane to catch". He looks back down going back to writing, "You better hurry. The planes going to be here soon and you need to leave soon to beat the storm". You couldn't stop the smile spreading across the young medic's face, "Thank you sir. For everything". He looks up from his paperwork, "Go home to your girl L/n". Y/n gave him one last salute before rushing out to go pack her bags. The General shook his head with a small smile. Although he hated losing his best medic he knew that where she needed to be was home.
It was the best news she had ever heard. They were somehow able to scramble a nearby charter plane to bring some troops home. Y/n being one of them. Within 15 minutes Y/n had all her belongings packed and was running towards the plane which was scheduled to lift off in 2 minutes. She had just make it into the plane as they were about to lift off. As she had got on the plane she took out the small Polaroid picture of her and Mal. She smiles as she ran her thumb over the creased photo showing just how many times she had taken this photo out. She quickly placed a gentle kiss to the precious photo before tucking it away again and instead swapping it out for her phone.
It was a long flight home but it was okay because Y/n had some major stuff to plan and it would all be worth it in the end to be able to see Mal on Christmas Day.
............
"Christ" Y/n mutters as she pulls her jacket closer to her. Being away from home for so long she almost forgot how cold it was in her home state. However the cold Colorado weather did nothing to deter the medic though as she felt a wave of warmth flood through her as she knew she was so close to seeing her family again. She was close to seeing her Mal again.
Although it seemed like the world was against her today.
It was hard enough for Y/n to find a taxi to drive her to where she needs to be. She blamed it on the heavy snow falling and the fact that most people were probably at home, all bundled up in blankets surrounded by their loved ones enjoying one of the best holidays of the year.
Exactly where Y/n should be right now
Thankfully her prayers were answered as one car pulled over and allowed her in. She quickly told the driver where she was heading before slumping against the seat. They were driving comfortably for a while and Y/n struggled to sit still in the seat.
That was until she faced her next problem
"Shit.." the driver mutters quietly but Y/n was able to hear him over the popular Christmas songs playing quietly from the radio. Y/n leans forward, "What's wrong? Why are we stopped?" The driver gave her a sympathetic, "Sorry but the snow's too heavy and is blocking the roads causing traffic. It pretty much bumper to bumper right now". Y/n sighs as he turns to her fully obviously seeing how important it was for her to get where she needs to be.
Y/n flops back against the seats, "Fuck..."
.............
"Okay time to hand out presents!" Vlatko calls out to all the families scattered around the room. Mal grudgingly gets up from playing with Marley who had been doing well from distracting the girl from missing Y/n right now to now sit beside her sister as everyone moved to the Christmas tree they had set up.
Brianna who could see how much Mal was struggling to get into the Christmas spirit without Y/n present, "You okay?" Mal plasters on a fake smile even though she knows that her sister knows just how fake it is, "I will be". Brianna doesn't say anything and instead turns to her daughter who looks at her aunt confused tilting her head, "I think Aunt Mally needs a hug right now. Don't you think Marls?"
The small girl smile and jumps into her aunt's arms never one to deny a hug. Mal chuckles lightly as she hugs the small girl back, "Thanks Marls". Marley smiles brightly as she turns so she's sitting in Mal's lap as she starts to fiddle with the forward's fingers to keep her occupied.
Mal sat and watched as people one by one exchanged gifts which lifted her spirits the tiniest bit. The team had made it their mission to help their crestfallen teammate. They had done everything and anything which came with the perfect Christmas. They had baked cookies, made gingerbread houses, sang Christmas carols, built snowmen, everything. Which Mal appreciated very much as it relieved the ache in her heart slightly.
And before she knew it, it was her turn to pick presents. "Want to help me open my presents?" Mal asked the little girl in her lap who nodded enthusiastically. But just as they started tearing into the first present the door burst open.
Mal's face scrunched up as she heard her teammates gasp looking at something behind her. She shifts around turning to see how has her teammates attention. But her eyes widened as she saw who stood behind her staring straight at her.
Because there stood Y/n L/n
Brianna was the first to recover as she moved her daughter out of her sisters lap and into hers. At this Mal scrambled to her feet and ran into Y/n who had her arms open waiting for her. "Your here" Mal cried out into her shoulder as she clutched onto her for dear life, "your really here".
Y/n had never felt more complete in her life as she wrapped her arms around the girl she so desperately loved, "I'm here Love. I'm home". Hearing this Mal pulled back and kissed Y/n harder than she ever had before. In any other moment they would have been mindful that they were in a room filled with the family and friends but all that mattered in that moment was each other. After being away from each other for just over a year, all they cared about was that they were back in each others arms.
Once they separated Mal looked into Y/n's eyes as both their eyes started to water, "But how? I thought-you said you couldn't-". Mal just couldn't get the words out but Y/n chuckled, "Did you really think I wouldn't move heaven and earth to make it back to you for Christmas?" Mal laughs but as she wrapped her hand around her neck and Y/n held her face in her hands she flinched lightly, "Why are you so cold?"
Y/n looked a bit sheepish as she gave her a small smile and her cheeks flushed but Mal could tell whether it was from the cold or her question, "Well I was in a rush and I didn't get time to change. And then we got stuck in traffic and then the taxi broke down. So I kinda ended up running here".
Mal pulled back a bit shocked, "You ran here? Babe it's snowing outside!" "Oh trust me I know" Y/n laughed making her girlfriend shake her head at her in disbelief. "Beside" Y/n grinned, "it's not the first time I ran through a snow storm to tell you I loved you". Mal smiles at the memory of how when they first said that special 4 letter word with Y/n almost killing herself in the process as she ran through a snowstorm to Mal's house to tell her before Mal could even get a blanket around her to warm her up.
"Your so stupid" Mal mumbles as she brushes from snow out of Y/n's hair. But that doesn't stop the massive face splitting smile from spreading across Y/n's face, "I love you too". Mal smiles as she presses another kiss to her girlfriend's lips, "I love you more than anything in the world".
Mal took her girlfriend's hand and dragged her towards their friends and family, "Cmon let's get you warmed up". But they didn't make it far before something collided with Y/n's legs, "Y/n!" Y/n smiles as she picked up the small girl in her arms, "Hey Marls". The small girl tucked herself into the crook of Y/n's neck and she wrapped her arms around her neck in a tight hug, "I missed you". Y/n just kissed her head and hugged her back gently, "I missed you too Marley". "Not as much as me" Mal said quietly leaning into the medic's side causing her to wrap her arm around the soccer player.
After greeting her family and friends from her long time abroad she found her place right beside Mal as they resumed opening Mal's presents. The two were making sure that they were always touching in some sort of way as Marley help the two open Mal's presents. Once Mal opened her last present Y/n gave her a small smile, "I'm sorry I don't have a present for you..." But Mal simple shakes her head intertwining their fingers, "The greatest gift I could ever receive is having you home for Christmas".
Y/n smile brightly, "Well that's good because..." Mal frowns as Y/n detaches theirs and stands up in front of her for a second. But that all changes when Y/n bends onto her knee.
There was a pin drop silence as everyone watched in awe as Y/n pulled out a small box smiling at the forward who's eyes started to water once more with her hand clasped tightly in front of her mouth.
"Mallory Pugh" she starts, "you have been an essential part of my life since I was 6 years old. I couldn't possibly imagine my life without you there. Through the highs and lows, through the best and worst of times we have been there for each other. And the thought of not being home for Christmas with you made me realize something". She takes a deep breath as she sees tears stream down Mal's face, "I don't ever want to worry about missing another Christmas with you. I want to be home for every Christmas for the rest of our lives. I want to be there cheering you on at every match. I want to be the one you come home to and argue about with one of us do the dishes". Everyone laughs while Mal snorts remembering all the playfully arguements they have over who's turn it is to do the dishes only to end up doing them together in the end.
"I want to start a family with you. I want to give you all the things I promised you if you'll let me. So..". She opened the small box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring, "Will you, Mallory Diane Pugh, make me the happiest person alive and marry me?"
Mal doesn't even say anything and instead flings herself into Y/n's arms. The force of which sends the two of them toppling to the ground. But Y/n barely had anytime to recover as Mal smashed her lips against hers. They were vaguely aware that everyone else was cheering like mad for the young couple. When Mal finally broke the kiss, the two of them gasping for air, Mal nods frantically, "Yes. Yes! I will marry you". Y/n smiled before bringing her into another kiss.
As Y/n lifted them up off the ground they were immediately swarmed by their family. "It's about time!" Horace laughs as he hugs Y/n. Mal's eyes widen, "You knew?!" He shrugged sending a wink at the medic, "She's had our blessing since you were 18". Mal looked at Y/n who blushed, "I asked ages ago but I wanted to wait a little longer until we were both stable". Mal nods and interlocks their fingers kissing her cheek.
"So how long do we have you for?" Rose asked after looking at the ring perched on her friend's finger. Mal's smile falters slightly as she looks to her now fiancée. But Y/n smiles brightly down at her soon to be wife, "How about forever?"
Now this catches everyone's attention
"What?" Mal breathes out. Y/n smiles, "As of today I have been honourably discharged from service". Mal jumps up again wrapping her arms and legs around her, "Your staying?" Y/n nods kissing Mal's temple, "Forever Love. I'm staying forever".
Once again everyone smiles the young couple as Vlatko smiles, "I guess now is a good time to introduce our teams new addition to the medical staff". Everyone turns to Y/n who smiles. All the youngsters plus Kelley jump on top of Y/n and start cheering. "I'll also be taking over diets and fitness training alongside Dawn so I don't know if you'll be cheering for much longer" Y/n laughs.
Once everything gets back on track, Mal takes residences in Y/n's lap as they move onto Tobin's gifts. "I love you so much Superstar" Y/n whispers in Mal's ear as Tobin unwraps a new skateboard from Ash. "I love you too Hero" she whispers back. Y/n presses a kiss to Mal's shoulder as she wraps her arms around the smaller girls waist. This had to have been the happiest moment of their life so far. Nothing could top this not even winning a World Cup. But what did you expect.
They both loved each other more than they love Christmas
Hey guys!!! First off Merry Christmas or happy holidays!!! (Whichever). I wrote this a few days ago in the build up to Christmas and I hoped you enjoyed it. Wisdom teeth-Mal Pugh
Tumblr media
Mal, Christen, and Tobin had just managed to get you in the car and heading home after you got your wisdom teeth pulled. You hadn't said anything and were still out of from the laughing gas.
They made it half way back to your apartment in Portland when you finally spoke.
"Who are you?" You asked looking at everyone confused as everyone looked at you with smiles as Christen pulled out her phone to record you so she can show you later
"We are your friends" Christen said with smile while you just continued to stare at them confused before you expression changed
"YOU GUYS ARE KIDNAPPING ME" you yelled looking around panicked reaching for the door handle, which caused the other three to start to panick since the car was still moving.
Mal instantly went to grab your hands to try and stop you while Christen was yelling at Tobin to stop the car.
As soon as the car stopped you managed to get out of mal's  grip and out of the car, causing the other 3 to quickly follow.
You had walked away from the car while they looked at you to try and guess what you would do next while Tobin decided to discreetly record you.
"(Y/n), we aren't kidnapping you" Christen said gently to you
"I don't know where we are going, so you are kidnapping me" you said stubbornly crossing your arms like a child which only cause the other three to look at you amused while Tobin just laughed
"Kid, we are taking you back to our apartment" Tobin said as they watched you think
"I don't believe you" you said and took off running down the street. However with the drugs still in your system you didn't move as fast as you usually do which allowed Mal and Christen to catch you quickly.
Once you stop trying to run away they loosen their grip on you and lead you back to the car, which you surprisingly let them.
"This time, can you make sure your girlfriend stays in the car?" Tobin said once everyone was back in the car.
"Girlfriend?" You said with a look of shock as you stare at Mal
"Your too beautiful to be my girlfriend" you continue as Mal felt herself blushing.
"Babe, we've been together for nearly a year" Mal said watching for your reaction.
"Really?" You asked amazed while Mal continue to stare at you with love in her eyes
"Yes" Mal reply
"Wow, I'm lucky" you reply as you then snuggle in mals as she runs her fingers through your hair, helping you calm down.
"That was one of the cutest things I've ever seen" Tobin said as Christen grabbed her hand while agreeing, both watching with adoration at the younger girls.

Time for a Talk (Mallory Pugh x Reader/Krashlyn Imagine)
Tumblr media
“I don’t know how you did it, but I am impressed,” you said and Mal just tilted her head and smiled at you. This was your first camp that you didn’t have to share a room with your mothers. Originally, you were supposed to be sharing with them, but now you had a room with Mal. Lindsey was supposed to be rooming with Mal, but now she was with Sonnett. There was a mess of trading, but you didn’t care about that. “How did you do it?”
“A magician never reveals,” Mal said with a teasing smile. You pulled her towards you and pressed your lips against hers. Mal deepened the kiss and pushed you back against the bed. Your knees hit the mattress and then you fell backwards, with her body landing softly on top of yours. Your hands fell to her hips and hers wrapped around your neck as the two of you continued to kiss. The kisses were heated and were soon turning into something more. You were playing in Orlando during the NWSL season and Mal was in New Jersey now, and the distance had already gotten to you.
“Y/n!” Ashlyn, your mother screamed as she barged into your room. Mal scrambled off of you and you sat up with a frustrated groan. “What the hell is going on?”
“Um-,” for a moment, you considered lying to your mother, but you knew better, “- Mal and I were making out.”
“Why were you doing that?” Ashlyn asked and Ali sighed at her wife. “What, it’s a valid question.”
“We were making out because we’re dating,” you said honestly and Ashlyn nodded.
Ash, babe, wait here with Y/n. Mal, can I talk to you in my room please?” Ali asked and Mal stood up and followed your mother out of the room. You sat awkwardly on the bed with Ashlyn and your heart was racing. You were so scared that something would happen that would fuck up your relationship. It was pretty early in the grand scheme of things, but you really liked Mal.
“Slow down,” Ashlyn said and you looked at her with a confused expression on your face. “You look like your mind’s going a million miles an hour.”
“It is,” you said softly.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” Ashlyn asked and it surprised you. Ali had always been the one who had been up for talking between the two of them. Try as she may, you weren’t much of a talker and neither was Ashlyn really. “I know I’m not Ali, but I can try to help you.”
“I’m scared of losing Mallory,” you said and Ashlyn sighed. “I don’t want her to leave me because of this. I mean, she doesn’t need me. She could easily have someone else. I know I’m young and if we broke up, I’d have time to get over it, but I’m not ready to let her go.”
“You won’t have to let her go. Ali would never say or do anything to make Mal leave you. You’re happy with her and we both can see that. She’s just warning her, a little shovel talk,” Ashlyn said with a chuckle. “You guys are gonna be fine, I can tell.”
“Thanks mama,” you said and Ashlyn hugged you tightly. Ali was the talker and Ashlyn’s strength came in hugs.
“We were worried when you didn’t want to stay with us, but we get it now. You need to spend time with her, and we’ll give you that time. Just, please don’t shut us out. Everyday we’re reminded that you’re growing up and it’s hard on us. You’re not our little girl anymore and eventually you’ll have to leave us to go live your own life with someone else,” Ashlyn said and you leaned against her shoulder.
“Even when I’m off living my own life, you two will be there,” you promised and Ashlyn smiled. “Wasn’t it you who told me that no matter how old I get, I’m always your little girl?“

It’s Okay. Mallory Pugh/Reader
Tumblr media
Prompt: May you do a mal x younger reader? Who suffers from something your choice?
I hope I do this good my friend!
Warnings: Mental Health/Illness, Possible Cursing
————
Y/N POV
I sit in my hotel room, my head in my hands. I was leaning against the bed, alone in the room. My roommate was the one and only Mallory Pugh, my girlfriend.
I was glad she wasn’t here at the moment. I’m hiding things from her. Multiple things. It’s hurting me to do so, but I just can’t bring myself to tell her.
I suffered from extreme depression and anxiety, they’ve been with me from a young age, and they haven’t gotten any better. No matter how much medication I’m given, nothing will help, it’s useless to even try anymore.
Sighing softly, I tense when I heard the beep of the door unlocking, so I sit up quickly and wipe my eyes with my sleeve. Turning to look, I forced a smile to Mal, hoping she wouldn’t notice.
“Hey Baby.” My voice cracked as I spoke, but it went unnoticed by the other forward in the room.
“Hey Babe. Most of the girls are heading out to the bar and I’m going with. Do you wanna come too?” Mal asked me, seeming to be distracted by getting ready.
“I can’t drink love, you know that. I’ll just stay here.” I shrugged, going to the balcony door and looking out.
Feeling arms wrap around my waist, I leaned back into the slightly taller girl, listening to her speak, “I know... But, Ali is staying behind, you can hang with her if you’d like to?”
I nodded, feeling a pang of hurt in my chest but I keep it to myself, “I’ll head over to her room now then.”
Pulling out of Mal’s arms, I turned, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before I move past, going to the room across from ours which I knew Ali and Ashlyn shared. Knocking, I waited until it opened, revealing the older defender who looked confused, but let me in anyway.
“I though you were Ashlyn who forgot her key again.” Ali spoke with a soft chuckle, but her smile slowly dropped when she took in my state, especially my eyes which were beginning to gloss over, “What’s wrong?”
I shook my head, wrapping my arms around her torso as I hid my face in her shoulder, letting my tears fall. I decided I trusted Ali enough to tell her, letting her be the first to know that wasn’t a staff member. What I didn’t know, was that we weren’t alone.
“I just... I don’t feel good enough to be on the pitch... I feel like I don’t deserve it and that I should just be benched the entire time, especially right after I make a mistake... I know it’s just my stupid depression making me feel that way, but I can’t help it. Every time before a game my anxiety always skyrockets and it takes so much to calm myself down. I’m scared to tell Mal about this all as well... I have my meds hidden in my bag so she doesn’t know. I just don’t want her to not like me anymore due to my imperfections...” I cried more, my body shaking with the sobs that left my lips.
“Baby... I love you, imperfections and all. Nothing can change that.” I heard from behind me, and I tensed, knowing exactly who it was.
Turning, my eyes were puffy and red, and my cheeks were tear streaked. Seeing the brunette forward opening her arms, I quickly made my way over to her, leaving the defenders arms. I buried my face in Mallory’s neck, gripping onto the back of the shirt she had on as I continued to cry.
“It’s okay Baby. It’s okay.” My girlfriend softly cooed into my ear, rubbing my back before I felt her suddenly pick me up. However, I didn’t make much of a fuss, wrapping my legs around her waist as I clung onto her more.
“I love you...” I whispered softly into her ear, sniffling as my crying had calmed down.
“I love you too. To the moon and back. Forever and always. Everything.” She responded, which made me smile widely.
“I’m sorry... I probably ruined your night. You can go out with the other girls.” I apologized, looking up into her deep brown eyes with my own E/C orbs.
“Nope. I’m staying her tonight. We’re gonna cuddle, watch Disney movies, and I’m gonna make sure you know I’m by your side whenever you need me.” Mal said in a determined voice, “Also, on game days, if you ever need me don’t be afraid to ask, I’ll be there.”
I nodded, allowing her to put me down as she changed out of the jeans and into some shorts, then took off the more dress-up shirt to reveal her tank top. When she crawled back onto the bed, I snuggled against her, smiling when she put on The Pirate Fairy, one of my favorites.
After the movie, I was having trouble keeping my eyes open, so I slipped out of bed and to my bag, taking out my medicine I have to take before I fall asleep just in case. Taking them with the bottle of water I had, I crawled back into bed, turning on Lilo and Stitch to watch until I fell asleep.
“I’m here for you, babygirl, you won’t be getting rid of me anytime soon.”
I jumped when I heard my girlfriend speak, having thought she fell asleep, but I smiled widely when I took in what she said. Leaning up, I press a quick kiss to her lips, whispering an ‘I love you’ before I closed my eyes, slowly falling asleep with the movie playing in the background.
“You don’t need to be afraid, you’ll never be alone.” Was the last thing I heard before sleep took over.

AN: Hello! I’m not entirely sure if this would be considered ‘long’ or not, but I did this within less than an hour. However, this was requested by @splashhill, and I hope I did it justice for you!

You’re The One I Love - Mallory Pugh/Reader
prompt: Since you’re in writing mood: how about something with a jealous Mal or Lindsey (I feel like we don’t see many imagines with either one of them)?
warnings: None
words: 1094
Tumblr media
Y/N POV
I grinned as I talked with Jessie. Even though Canada had lost, I appreciated that Jessie came to talk to me. Jessie and I had been friends since we were kids after we met on the playground at school. We had been best friends until I moved from Canada to America. Jessie and I had stayed in touch and I had even gone up through Canada’s youth teams before deciding to play with the US.
“Swap?” Jessie asked while she held onto her jersey.
I nodded my head because I always loved swapping jerseys with our competition. I had a whole collection of jerseys because of how much I liked to swap. I pulled the jersey over my head before handing it to Jessie and taking her jersey. I pulled Jessie’s jersey over my own head and I knew that there were pictures being taken of us.
“How are you and Mal?” Jessie asked. She was one of the only people who knew of my relationship with Mal. We had decided to keep it quiet from most of our teammates since she had just gotten out of her relationship with Dansby. I didn’t mind because I didn’t really want our teammates to be nosy about our relationship when we were still figuring each other out.
“We’re good,” I smiled at her. Jessie gave me a small smile. Mal had made plans to spend some time with me at UCLA as we got ready for the SheBelieves Cup. “She’s gonna come and stay with me for a little bit so we can train together for our next tournament.”
“That’s right,” Jessie nodded. I knew that she sometimes forgot what my national schedule was like. “You guys have that SheBelieves Cup. Will Mal make the roster for it?”
“Yeah, she should,” I nodded. I had missed getting to play with Mal during the CONCACAF Tournament. It also didn’t help when Mal had shown up with tears in her eyes because Vlatko had left her off the roster for this tournament. “She was so upset about not making the roster. It broke my heart to see her hurting so much.”
“You guys are so in love with each other.” Jessie smiled. She gave me a quick hug. “I gotta go, but I’ll text you later.”
“Yeah, definitely,” I waved to Jessie as she ran off. “Hey! I’ll be in Canada soon, so I’ll let you know when.”
Jessie gave me a thumbs-up as she ran off. I grinned and turned around to head to my locker room. I was surprised to see Mal standing at the tunnel. I knew that she had come to the game, but I didn’t realize that she was still here.
I jogged over to Mal before giving her a hug. It was nice to see her since I hadn’t gotten to during the tournament. Mal gave me a hug back before we headed to the locker room.
“So, you and Jessie?” Mal asked. I shook my head because I knew that most people thought I was dating Jessie.
“Don’t worry, Mal,” I assured her. Mal looked up at me. “Jessie and I are just friends. You don’t have anything to worry about. You’re the one I love.”
“You love me?”
I stopped and moved in front of Mal. I hadn’t told her that yet, but I never would deny it if someone asked me about it. I smiled at her as I cupped her face.
“I love you, Mallory Pugh. There’s no one else that I love. You’re the one that I love, never forget that.”
Mal smiled at me before nodding. Instead of kissing me since there were still people around us, she pulled me into a hug. I grinned before pulling away and walking with her to the locker room. I knew that no one on the team would have a problem with Mal being there.
“So, (Y/N), when are you and Fleming getting together?” Sonnett called out to me. I shook my head because this was something I had been getting used to recently. Sonnett and Kelley had found out that I was close to Jessie and they both assumed that I was dating her or had a crush on her.
“It’s obvious that you guys love each other,” Kelley added. Christen rolled her eyes as she slapped Kelley’s shoulder. Christen looked to where Mal was standing slightly behind me.
“Hey, Mal,” Christen said as she held her arms open. Mal smiled before jumping into Christen’s hug.
I shook my head as Mal started to talk to Christen and eventually, Tobin joined their chat. I moved to my locker and sat down by it. I pulled the jersey off of me before putting it into my bag so that it would actually get back to UCLA with me. I wasn’t surprised when Sonnett and Kelley both sat down by me.
“Seriously, (Y/N), when are you and Fleming going to start dating?” Kelley asked. I shook my head at the defender and had no plans on answering her question which caused her to start poking my arm. “Don’t ignore me, (Y/N). Everyone knows that you and Fleming would look cute together.”
“I’m not going to date Jessie,” I shook my head. I was getting tired of their assumptions. “We’re just friends. We grew up together as kids. I’m not into Jessie like that.”
“Come on, we all know that you guys are gonna get together and get married,” Sonnett poked at me. She had said it loud enough that it drew enough attention to us. Mal glared at Sonnett and I was surprised when she stormed over to us.
“Mal, come on,” I stood up drawing the attention to the two of us. “You know that I-”
She cut me off by pulling me closer to her and kissing me. I was surprised by it but I quickly placed my hands on her waist. I felt Mal’s hands move to rest on my abs. I ignored the whistles that came from some of our teammates. When Mal pulled back, she rested her forehead against mine.
“Sorry,” Mal whispered. I stared into her eyes because I wasn’t sure why she was sorry. “I just couldn’t stand them.”
“Don’t worry about it,” I assured. I gave her temple a kiss. “They would have found out eventually.”
Maybe it would be better for our teammates to know about our relationship. They could finally stop pestering me about dating Jessie. But I had to admit, that a jealous Mal was hot.

I’m not allergic to fruit: USWNT x reader
Request: But maybe one where baby R has an allergic attack and faints in front of the team and they get really worries especially most of the older players like Kelley, Alex, Becky, Julie, Tobin, and Christen
Word count: 788
Warning: none
A/N: originally i was gonna write two and post them when i got to 500 followers but i have a calc exam tomorrow that i have been studying all weekend for so here is one and i will try to write another one tomorrow after the exam before i start studying for my physics exam.
Y/N POV
“To dinner!” I yell from my spot on Sam’s back. “Come on go faster I am hungry!”
“Y/N I am moving as fast as I can, if you want to get there faster you could always walk.”
“Ew no, why would I do that when you can carry me. It’s great because I don’t have to walk and I get to cuddle with you.”
“Alright, you leech,” Sam says as we enter the meal room. “Time for you to get down and eat dinner.”
“Thanks for the ride Sammy!” I say before I get distracted by all of our options for dinner. I grab all my favorite foods before I go to the table that Becky and Alyssa are sitting at to prove that I am eating a healthy meal.
“Please get some more fruit, Y/N,” Becky says. “Then you can go sit with the kids and eat.
I immediately pout because fruit is so gross.
“Can’t I eat more vegetables instead?” I whine, trying my best to get out of eating fruit. “I’ll even take vitamins.
“You already take vitamins kid,” Alyssa says. “Go sit with the kids, I will get you some fruit. Which you will be eating if you want dessert tonight.”
“Fine,” I say with a huff. I walk over to the kids’ table and sit next to Mal and Tierna.
“What’s wrong little Y/N,” Mal asks.
“I’m not little,” I grumble.
“You are the shortest and the youngest on the team,” Tierna says. “You are always going to be our little Y/N.”
I start to eat my food, which starts to make me happy, but the mood immediately disappears because Alyssa puts a bowl of fruit in front of me.
“Eat,” She says with a pointed look.
“Okay,” I whine, hoping she will leave and stop babying me so the rest of the kids don’t make fun of me.
“Awww is baby Y/N mad that they have to eat fruit,” Rose says. “Maybe you will grow up to be big and strong if you eat your fruit.”
“Leave me alone Rosie,” I say quietly. “I’m a teenager, not a little kid.”
I focus on eating my food and ignore everything that is happening at the table. Eventually, I am left staring at the bowl of fruit.
Tierna pokes me and nods to the bowl of fruit.
“The sooner you eat the fruit, the sooner we get to go upstairs and chill,” she says.
I eat a strawberry and grimace as I try to not freak out at the fact that I am eating fruit.
“Hey Y/N/N,” says getting my attention. “Why don’t you like fruit?”
I swallow down a few blueberries before I turn to her and answer.
“It always makes my throat itchy,” I say. “And my face gets really red.”
I eat some pineapple before I realize that everyone at the table is staring at me.
“What?” I ask to no one in particular.
“Y/N,” Sam says with concern evident in her voice. “What do you mean that your throat gets itchy?”
“It’s like when I have a cold,” I explain while finishing the bowl of fruit. “It goes away after a while but it is really annoying.”
“Y/N! Are you allergic to fruit?!” Tierna asks with panic. “Why did you just eat a whole bowl of fruit if you know that you are going to have an allergic reaction?”
“I’m not allergic to fruit,” I say. “Doesn’t everyone’s throat get itchy when you eat fruit?”
“No!,” pretty much everyone at the table yells at the same time, which gains the attention of everyone in the room.
Becky, Alyssa, Tobin, and Christen come over to our table to see what all of the chaos is about.
“What’s going on over here kids,” Christen asks.
“Did you guys know that Y/N is allergic to fruit?” Sam asks while pointing at me.
“I’m not allergic to fruit,” I say. “Everyone’s throats get itchy when they eat fruit.”
“No!” Tobin says. “No one’s throats get itchy when they eat fruit.”
“Y/N, you have hives on your face,” Alyssa says. “Do you have an EpiPen?”
“No,” I say. “Why would I have an EpiPen?”
“Y/N, how do you feel?” Becky asks. “Do you need to go to the hospital?”
“It usually isn’t this hard to breathe,” I say. “And my face is more itchy than normal.”
“We are taking you to the hospital,” Becky says.
“Does this mean you won’t make me eat fruit anymore?” I ask with some hope in my voice.
“No Y/n, you don’t have to eat fruit anymore.”
“Can I eat dessert before we go?”
“No!”
“That’s stupid.”

Listen to Me
Uswnt x reader
⚠️mentions of fighting/violence, cursing, Chad being an asshole, mentions of racism, homophobia, and sexism. Lemme know if there’s more I missed.⚠️
Tumblr media
Main Masterlist
It was time for another camp. You were the last to arrive due to still being in school and having to be there as many hours as you possibly could.
So here you were in the airport walking towards a pissed off Alex Morgan and Christen Press.
The day before your flight to camp, you had gotten into trouble. Trouble meaning you got into a fight. And word got to your teammates.
“Hello my favorite, most amazing people in the whole wide world.”
Alex simply rolled her eyes and grabbed your suitcase before walking towards the exit with you and Christen trailing behind.
You lowered your gaze to the terminal floor. Christen tried to catch your eyes but ultimately failed and decided just to look straight forward as she talked.
“You know, you shouldn’t resort to violence, (y/n). I don’t know what happened but everyone’s pretty upset and disappointed right now.”
Ouch. The disappointment card. Just had to pull that one like you haven’t heard it just about everyday of your life. You were honestly confused if people were actually disappointed when they said it or just used it as a guilt trip.
The ride to the hotel was full of silence. And not one of those silences where you feel comfortable with the people you adore and love. It was one of those silences where it made you nervous and anxious. It made you fidget and uncomfortable.
Getting your room assignment, being with Tierna, you tried to book it up the stairs. That worked for all of five seconds until you were called into the meeting room.
You reluctantly stepped down and made your way to the space and left your suitcase by the door. In the room were almost all the responsible/‘scary when they want to be’ ones. Sitting down in a chair with a sigh, you looked down at your fidgeting hands and waited for someone to start talking.
The silence that filled the room was very tense. All that could be heard was the movement of your hands and breathing.
When you thought things couldn’t get any worse, the most mama-bear of them all, Carli, spoke up.
“You know you can lose your spot for stuff like this right? You got into a fight, this is not something you need to be taking lightly at all. I don’t care what caused it, but you need to fix whatever’s going on with your behavior and attitude because you’ve been off for the past few weeks anyway. If something like this happens again, we won’t hesitate to take some disciplinary actions ourselves. Am I clear, (y/n)?”
You mumbled ‘crystal’ and attempted to leave the room only to get pulled down by Ash. “Now do you wanna tell us what started the fight?”
You were honestly getting really uncomfortable. Any movement you were making at the moment was probably the only thing keeping you from breaking right now; the furrowing of your eyebrows, the rolling of your shoulders, scratching your arms, bouncing your leg. You probably looked crazy.
You shrugged your shoulders and started spinning in your chair.
Ash put her hand on it and prohibited it from being able to move. “That was not a suggestion.”
Sighing and dragging your hands over your face you told them, “A boy knocked books out of my hands and pushed me so I pushed him back. He didn’t like that so he threw the first punch and I wasn’t about to let him push me around so I beat his ass.”
It wasn’t a total lie but it wasn’t the full truth. Yes he did push you. And yes he did hit you first. But there was so much more to the situation than that.
“Look I’m tired and I have work I need to do. If you want to scold me anymore, just please save it for tomorrow.”
Honestly you had never run up stairs so fast. The situation was so awkward and the way everyone was staring at you didn’t make anything better. There was so much disappointment in their eyes.
It’s like what you do will never be enough for anyone.
-
The next day everyone came down from breakfast. You went to sleep after 12 due to having work piled up from your asshole teachers. It’s not like they grade half of it anyway.
You still didn’t understand one of the lessons so decided to watch some YouTube videos on it and take notes while eating breakfast. That also gave you an excuse to sit away from anyone who would possibly want to lecture you about your ‘reckless actions’.
You were the last one down. Deciding to already have headphones in—to ignore anyone calling your name—you grabbed your breakfast and sat down at a table by yourself. Pulling your notebook and pencil out, you started the video and took notes while eating.
You could feel their eyes burning holes in your head. You’d honestly prefer they just come ask what they wanted than staring at you like some museum exhibit.
You just ignored it and did your work. That was easier said than done as Casey came over, sat next to you, and snatched your earphones out.
“Hey!” You scrambled to pause the video so you didn’t miss anything. “I was watching that.”
Turning to Casey, you pushed your glasses up and gave her a look that said ‘can I help you?’
“Don’t give me that face. I’m not the one you need to be having an attitude with.”
“I-I don’t have an attitude though.”
“Stop talking.”
You purse your lips, nod your head, and start bouncing your leg waiting to hear whatever she wanted to say to you.
“Look, I don’t know what’s been going on at school or at home but everyone can tell you’re on edge. Isolating yourself isn’t going to help anyone-”
“But I’m not isolating myself.”
“Interrupt me one more time, child.”
Casey was your first team mom. When you joined the red stars, she immediately took you under her wing and she became your mentor. The two of you worked well together and she constantly kept you on track. She was very nice but could be very strict when she wanted to be.
“All I’m saying is you’re making yourself look more guilty to them because you’re sitting over here looking like you’re all up in your feelings. You aren’t in your feelings. Right? Cause that’d be another conversation I’d have to have with somebody’s child and-”
You cut her off with your chuckle and shook your head. “Casey, I’m fine.”
She nods her head and contemplates for a few seconds, “Alright, come sit at the table with me then.”
“But I’m working.”
“Okay. You can work over there too.”
You simply watched as she grabbed your phone, notebook and breakfast to the table with a gaped mouth.
You blinked at her while she mouthed ‘come here’. Reluctantly, you pushed yourself out the seat and slowly made your way over. You sat down and reached out for your phone only for Casey to snatch it away.
“I need to do my work. What did you do that for?”
“Your work can wait. Socialize,” she said while putting your phone out of work.
With raised eyebrows you said, “Seriously?”
“Does it look like I’m kidding?”
Huffing you turned in your seat and played with your food. You’d honestly lost your appetite this morning; it was only 9 in the morning and people were already testing your patience.
You looked up and your eyes locked with Carli’s.
“Stop playing with your food, (y/n).”
You put your fork down and just got up to throw your food away. You couldn’t deal with this right now.
-
The two weeks of camp was boring and went by agonizingly slow. It consisted of pretty much the same routine; you’d do work after training, work during breakfast and spend any free days or breaks by yourself (occasionally with Tierna) in your room, on your phone looking at ways to improve and tricks to do.
It became annoying when all the vets constantly reprimanded you for the smallest of things. With Carli, it’d be ‘stop playing around so much’. With Alex it’d be ‘pick up after yourself’. Even Kelley was doing it for fuck’s sake.
You honestly couldn’t wait to leave and at least be somewhere where all the attention isn’t on you.
-
When you got to the airport, your girlfriend was there waiting for you. She pulled you in her arms and any leftover tension from the past two weeks immediately went away. She always knew how to make you feel better.
The two of you drove to her house and went over some school work before going to bed for the night. It wasn’t an unusual routine between you two.
When the alarm went off in the morning both of you groaned. The school you went to was a total pain in the ass and regardless of what day it was, you could count on it to be an awful day. It was a predominately white school with only 2 percent being a person of color; you and your girlfriend being part of that 2%. Half of them were racist, sexist, homophobic, and just all around assholes.
Walking into the school building, you could immediately feel all eyes on you. Trying to get past it, the two of you just went to your lockers with your heads down.
“Aye! Look at me you freak!”
It was the same dude you got into a fight with last time(his name is Chad by the way). Apparently a black eye didn’t teach him shit.
“When I tell you to do something I expect you to do it.”
He grabs your shoulders, turns you around and pins you to the lockers.
“You see my eye?”
“Yeah, you got your ass beat by a girl. What you gonna do about it?”
He punched you in the stomach hard.
“(Y/n)!” Your girlfriend. You looked up at her and shook your head signaling her not to get involved.
“Ima make you look worse than you made me-”
“Are you sure about that? Last time you failed, what makes you think it won’t happen again?”
Chad chuckles and shakes his head.
“You think you’re all that with that equal pay shit, and your racial equality and women loving women crap. Guess what you little bitch I’m going to end you and all those lesbians and gays and anybody else who thinks they deserve equality because you don’t. You don’t belong here. Just go kill-”
You kicked him in his balls, twisted his arm behind his back, and pulled it. When you heard that crack you smirked and leaned down to his ear.
“I don’t wanna embarrass you in front of your racist, sexist, homophobic, buddies, but lemme tell you. You don’t own anybody nor are you superior to anybody. Do I make myself clear?”
He only grunted but you pulled tighter which made him yell out.
“I said, ‘do I make myself clear’?”
“Yes!”
You pushed him on the ground and walked over him to your girlfriend.
“Why in the world would do that? You know what they’re going to do to you. You might not even get invited back to camp!”
“Babe, calm down. I honestly don’t care at this point. And neither should you.”
“(Y/n) (L/n)! My office! Now!”
You gave her a kiss and walked away slowly.
“Wish me luck.”
-
“You seriously got into another fight! What is going on with you!”
It was the first thing you heard when walking into the hotel lobby. Literally everyone was there. From the youngings to the vets. Surprisingly, you were called back to camp, but you honestly think it was just so everyone could scold you. Carli was absolutely livid, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care about anything at the moment since you were so pissed.
Walking past the team, you attempted to make it to the stairs, only for Casey to grab the back of your shirt and pull you back towards the tables. She pushed you down into a seat and took your belongings away from you.
You tried to get back up but you were only pushed down again.
Carli bent down and stared you dead in the eye.
“What is going on with you?”
“There’s nothing wrong with me. What I did was what I intended to do. It was no mistake.”
Alex interrupted, “(Y/n), you don’t understand-”
“No you don’t understand!” You stood abruptly from the chair and slammed your hands on the table. The chair fell and it was absolute silence.
You’d never been so loud. You were always on the quiet side and this was the biggest reaction anyone had ever seen from you.
You were heavily breathing, staring at Carli, the adrenaline pumping through you.
“Did they tell you what he did to me?! Did they tell you what he calls me, my girlfriend and every other female, lgbtq member, or person of color in that school?! No! Because they don’t give a shit. And they won’t give a shit until it’s one of their kids getting hurt!”
There was no dry eye in the room. Your hands were shaking and you took a deep breath to calm down. In a lower voice you spoke.
“They don’t give a damn about my well-being so why should I give a fuck about theirs?”
Taking a few more trembling breaths, you wiped the tears off your face.
“So excuse me for being off for the past few weeks. This shit will take a toll on anybody. And you can cut the bullshit with the ‘don’t fight fire with fire’ cause that’s the only way something gets through those thick ass skulls. They don’t allow you to do it peacefully. They don’t allow you to educate them.”
You looked at Casey with tears in your eyes.
“I just wanna go to school and get an education and be treated like a normal human being. What’s wrong with that?”
Crystal came over to you and caught you before you fell. She lowered you both to the floor as you sobbed your heart out. You kept mumbling ‘I’m sorry’ into her neck between breaths as she rocked you back and forth trying to console you.
Casey and Christen were the next ones over, the latter rubbing your back while the other was trying to wipe away the onslaught of tears on your face.
“Shh, shh baby. You did nothing wrong.”
Soon, every member of the team was crowded around. Tears were streaming down everyone’s face. Their baby, only 16, was going through all this stress and pain. Because of something no one deserves.
You eventually calmed down after 15 more minutes of crying. You’d been transferred to Casey’s lap, and your team mom was trying to comfort you to the best of her ability.
Casey took your face in her hands and wiped all the tears off. “You don’t need to be sorry, alright? There was nothing you did wrong. Stop saying sorry.”
You nodded your head and she kissed your forehead.
Everyone was still crying or wiping waterfalls of tears away.
They watched as you got up and searched frantically for something. You got your phone out of your backpack and turned it on. While you were pacing, the Home Screen popped up and you quickly logged in to text your girlfriend. One, because you always text her when you get to the hotel and two, if Chad and his stickman buddies hurt her, you were absolutely going to lose your shit.
When you logged in to your phone, you saw she already messaged you saying that you should talk to the others.
“Kinda late for that,” you muttered.
“What did you say, hun?” Christen asked.
You just shook your head and texted her back.
Gf: I mean we could always try to talk to the board.
You: Or
You: We could go on strike.
Gf: I-
Gf: I’m done talking to you.
You: wait no! Don’t leave me.
You: I love you
You had a frown on your face when you put your phone away.
Casey pulled you back down into her lap. “What’s with the frown?”
You groaned and threw your head back. “She’s such an asshole. She left me on read!”
The team chuckled, glad to see you was somewhat back to yourself.
Your phone dinged and you pulled it out. She said ‘I love you too, weirdo’
There were a few moments of silence as everyone was thinking of what to do.
“Can we go on strike?”
“No!”
Casey flicked your ear for that.
Tobin spoke up, “Let’s create awareness first. Maybe identify the school board, post all the school’s faults on social media. I don’t know, just some ideas.”
Carli nodded her head. “Look, we’re here for you. For everyone in that school that’s been wronged. We’re gonna help you alright?”
You nodded your head and leaned back onto your team mom.
“And if all else fails, we go on strike.”
“Oh my god.”
—————-
Lowkey think this was trash but eh. I don’t really care at this point but uh this topic is very serious and what I put in here doesn’t even compare to what happens irl.

I Love Her (Mallory Pugh x Reader)
Tumblr media
Anonymous Request: A Mal Pugh imagine where she is dating r who is either CP or KO little sister and the team finds out? Mal deserves more love too :^)
You smile, feeling a pair of eyes on you from across the field and sure enough, when you turn you find your favorite pair of brown orbs on you, brown orbs belonging to Mallory Pugh.
You grin, glancing around to make sure no one is looking before you send her a wink, the younger girl’s cheeks flushing as she smiles bashfully.
Meeting Mallory Pugh had happened by accident when you were traded to the Washington Spirit, the two of you instantly clicking, not only on the field, but off.
Soon, the two of you were rooming together, your feelings for one another growing until eventually, it surpassed friendship and turned into something more.
Something that resulted in a surprise kiss between the two of you, that kiss throwing you headlong into the relationship you were in now.
There was just one problem.
“What's on your mind little Press?”
You jump, turning to Tobin Heath with a small smile.
That problem came in the form the one and only Christen Press, who just so happened to be your older sister.
An older sister who had NO idea that you were dating Mallory Pugh.
“Nothing.” You shrug, Tobin’s eyes narrowing.
“Christen gets that same look when she’s thinking.” She says, eyes narrowing further.
You scoff.
“My mind is blank actually.”
Emily snorts from her place nearby.
“That’s nothing new.”
You growl, Emily’s hazel orbs widening as you fire a soccer ball her way, the woman evading the shot.
Across the field, Mallory giggles, shaking her head at your antics.
Christen sighs, throwing an arm around the younger forward’s shoulders.
“Hard to believe you’re the same age.” Christen snickers as Mallory smirks, watching you and Emily playfully tussle.
Mallory shakes her head when you get Emily in a headlock, giving her what can only be described as an atomic noogie, that is until Lindsey comes to Emily’s aid.
Mallory races across field, joining the fray, Christen shaking her head as you and the forward eventually gain the upper hand on Emily and Lindsey.
Tobin throws an arm around Christen.
“Children.” She snickers and Christen nods, watching as your and Mallory’s fingers intertwine, the gears in her head turning.
“Yeah, children.”
                                                             ***
Mallory giggles as your fingers dig into her sides, the forward wiggling on top of you as you tickle her mercilessly.
“Stoppppp!” She squeaks as you bury your face in her neck, laughing as the woman wiggles in your hold.
You eventually still, the woman in your arms panting as she rests her back against your front.
“I’ll get you back for that.” She says in between gasps and you grin, burying your face in her neck, kissing it over and over again, the smaller girl beaming, her cheeks flushing.
You nuzzle into the space behind her ear, sighing softly.
Mallory beams, sighing as she rests back against you.
Your heart races in your chest, those three words, you know the ones, on the tip of your tongue, but just as they’re about to escape your mouth there’s a knock on the door.
Mallory practically flies off the bed, shuffling nervously from foot to foot as you leave the bed, ducking down to kiss the top of her head before you open the door to reveal your smiling sister, with Tobin at her side.
Christen ruffles your hair, Tobin doing the same as the pair move towards Mallory, treating her with the same hair ruffles.
“What were you two up to?” Tobin asks and you shake your head innocently, though Mallory can’t help it when her cheeks flush.
“Nothing!” She squeaks and your eyes widen, as do Tobin and Christen’s.
You shrug.
“Yeah, we’re both bored.”
Tobin hums.
“We wanted to see if you both wanted to come to dinner.” She grins and you glance at Mallory, the girl smiling.
“I mean, if you don’t have any other plans.” Christen snorts and you scoff, giving her a playful shove.
“Want to go?” You ask Mallory, the woman smiling shyly when she realizes you’d just asked HER to decide if the two of you went out.
She nods.
“Sure.”
                                                             ***
You’re unable to keep from blushing when Mallory’s hand finds yours beneath the table, her fingers slotting between your before she gives your hand a squeeze.
You bite your bottom lip to stave a grin, a grin that Mallory mirrors.
Meanwhile, across the table Christen’s brows furrow, the woman wondering WHY the two of you were grinning.
You lean towards Mallory, pointing to one of the meals on the menu.
“I have no idea how to say that.” You whisper and Mallory giggles, the woman mindlessly leaning against you.
“I’ll order it for you.” She whispers, your cheeks flushing as she gives you a nudge.
It’s when you see the look on Christen’s face that you realize what you’re doing, as does Mallory, the two of you leaning away from one another hastily, eyes wide and cheeks bright red.
Christen hums, watching with a small smile as Mallory orders for you, as if it’s the most natural thing in the world.
As Mallory orders, Christen’s eyes drift to you, the woman’s brow quirked in question at the loving smile on your face as you stare at Mallory’s profile.
Christen gives her head a shake.
She couldn’t be seeing what she THOUGHT she was seeing...
Could she?
                                                             ***
“Do you think something is going on between Mal and Y/N?” She asks, Tobin following her eyes across field to where the two of you are standing, the shorter forward smiling softly at you.
Tobin shrugs.
“I mean, kind of looks like it.”
A smile stretches across Christen’s face as you tuck a strand of hair behind Mallory’s ear, the forward’s cheeks flushing red.
Christen’s lips split in a grin.
“Is it bad that I’m kind of hoping they are?” She laughs and Tobin snorts.
“No, they’d make a cute couple.”
Christen watches as you’re joined by the team’s usual suspects, Emily Sonnett, Lindsey Horan, Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis, along with of course, Kelley O’Hara.
Christen can’t help to notice, that even with the aforementioned additions, your eyes never leave Mallory.
                                                             ***
Christen wasn’t ashamed to admit that she was, ATTEMPTING to catch you and Mallory together, hoping to see the two of you being coupley so you’d HAVE to tell her you were together.
Though she in no way expected to find the two of fast asleep, Mallory curled up on your chest, your arms wrapped tightly around her.
“What’s so-
Christen puts an index finger to her lips, nodding to where you and Mallory are in bed, the two of you snuggling closer to one another in your sleep, Mallory’s hand cupping one of your cheeks.
Tobin smiles as Christen tip toes into the room, pulling the blankets up and over the two of you.
Though the second she turns around to leave, she hears a raspy, familiar voice.
“Christen?” Mallory whispers, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, those eyes widening when she realizes JUST where she is, and who she’s laying on top of.
“Chris I...”
Christen shakes her head, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.
“I knew the two of you were together.” She smirks, the smirk widening when Mallory’s cheeks flush.
“You did?” She asks, Christen’s lips splitting into a grin.
“You guys look at each other like love sick puppies.” Tobin comments from where she’s leaning against a nearby wall.
Mallory blushes with a giggle.
“I just…” Mallory glances over her shoulder at you, smiling softly.
“I love her.” She whispers, the confession so soft you have to strain your ears to hear it.
Your eyes almost immediately flash open, Mallory’s eyes widening in response, brown orbs locking with bleary Y/E/C orbs.
“Did you just say you love me?” You ask, voice rough from sleep, the fact that your sister and Tobin are in the room a shock to you, but in no way deterring you from what Mallory Pugh had just confessed.
“I...” Mallory’s mouth opens and closes a few times before she glances away bashfully.
You cup Mallory’s cheek, turning her head until her brown orbs lock with yours.
“I love you too.” You whisper, the forward grinning as she practically tackles you, her lips meeting yours in a loving kiss.
Abruptly, she pulls back when she remembers the two of you aren’t alone.
You glance up at Christen with a grin, rubbing the back of your neck as you shrug.
“Surprise?” You grin, Mallory rolling her eyes as she smacks you in the chest.
“Not really a surprise.” Tobin reaches for you, giving your head a playful, harmless shove.
“What?” You ask, eyes narrowed as you take a swipe back at her, the forward snickering as she catches your hand, pulling you towards her and ruffling your hair.
“Apparently we aren’t very good at hiding it.” Mallory blushes.
You clear your throat, turning to Christen with a frown.
“I’m sorry I hid it from-
Christen shakes her head, cupping your cheeks.
“I know you were scared to tell me.” She says and you glance away.
“Come to think of it, I don’t know why I was so scared...” You shrug, your eyes widening when you see the blush on Mallory’s face.
“You weren’t the one who was scared.” She mumbles and Christen grins, wrapping her arms around the two of you.
“Why would you be scared?” She asks and Mallory grimaces.
“I mean, I am dating your little sister.”
Christen hums.
“And if you hurt her, I’ll sick Kelley and Alex on you.” Christen smirks, Mallory’s eyes wide as she pulls away from the older forward.
You pull Mallory back against your chest, your chin resting on the top of her head.
“I’ll protect you.” You grin charmingly and Mallory giggles, tilting her head back to kiss the underside of your jaw.
“I love you.” She whispers and you beam, cheeks flushed.
“I love you too.”
Christen makes her way to Tobin, the two women watching you with a grin, your lips by Mallory’s ear as you whisper softly in her ear, the shorter woman giggling.
“They’re cute together, don’t you think?” Tobin whispers, her best friend nodding with a massive grin.
“Yeah, they are.”
Tobin snorts.
“Now they just have to tell the others.”
You and Mallory fall silent, your eyes wide.
“Uh oh.”
“Fuck.” You growl.
“LANGUAGE.” Christen yells and you wince.
“Sorry Chrissy.”
