gonna take one for the team and say it: Genshin is slowly singling out f2p and low spenders more and more with every single update and that comes from someone who has spent 180-200€ on this game from April 2021 til late November 2021.

When I started the game all the gacha (aside from in-game things like artifacts and drops) was where the characters. All you had to fear was losing a 50/50 and either grinding like hell if you were still low AR or spend money. Not every 5-star instantly game with their signature weapon and usually the difference between power levels of 4-stars, craftable and other 5-Stars didn’t differ much. You were good to go in most cases. Lastly, there were no outfits you had to pay.

It’s good that Mihoyo is constantly evolving and adding things to Genshin, for example the signature weapons usually fit the character’s aesthetic and just look so much cooler, they’re 100% tailored to their playstyle and kit - in fact I have such one as well. Ever since the archipelago I have been excited for new skins to show up as well and this time my favourite female character is even part of it - couldn’t get better, right?

Well there is the issue we’ve been adressing to mihoyo from time to time but seem to forget something flashly happens and that is the huge difference between available primogems and new gacha content. The gap gets bigger every update and they won’t stop for sure since there’s leaks of the way of obtaining characters being changed mid-2022, especially the standard 5-stars. Majority of people guess that you’ll simply buy them with genesis crystals or a huge amount of primogems.

I’m not new to gacha. I’ve plenty of games and even currently I play some other gachas next to Genshin Impact. Gacha’s cruel, but there’s alsways something that balances it out. Either you have high drop rates, low pities but it’s hard to grind the currency, or it’s the other way around. Another famous option are tickets randomly coming to the game throughout events which makes you able to buy characters - something that has never once been mentioned in Genshin anyway.

What I’m trying to say is that it’s great how Mihoyo’s developing Genshin and expanding the possibilites, but not changing the drops or the amount of primogems (especially high AR!!) according to the amount of things happening at the same time is just cruel. I broke my own rule and spend a freaking 125€ on a single character - something I had never done before - and told myself: Okay, the only character missing will probably not be coming soon. But behold. Mihoyo doesn’t just suddenly rerun two characters, no let’s have three and let them all be very popular! I was sure about this happening and the more characters we get the more likely it was to become something the game needs - but again: Not making the drops and gems fit the change of the game is terrible.

For example I want the Keqing skin - she was my favourite female character in the game. Due to having bought gems beforehand I would have to spend 20€ on it during the limited-time offer and 30€ afterwards. I’m thinking of just gifting it to myself, since my birthday is in the middle of 2.4 as well. But, in the back of my mind I’m just thinking Zhongli’s the only character I still need but I didn’t think he’d be coming back so soon so what do I do

I’m sure a lot of people would feel way more generous if the drops and primogems were according to the development of things to get within the game. I’m already completely ignoring signature weapons ever since getting one for my main and i’m still stressed. 2.4 looks amazing and if they don’t pull an inazuma on us it will be amazing, but I can’t help but feel nothing but being upset with this.

I’m gonna quit Genshin. Look, I don’t care if you like the four new costumes that were released. This is a slippery fucking slope that is already looking worse for Genshin.

I was able to accept Rosaria’s change the first time because it seemed like Mihoyo wanted to keep quality in the game. So I just kinda shrugged it off with at most mild annoyance. It was so she’d have smoother animations. But explain then why they shrunk her more with her new outfit.

And here is her new skin. “Oh but it doesn’t really affect us! We aren’t on CN so we can switch if we want!” You’re half right. But for cutscenes, the new outfits will overwrite the old GLOBALLY. So it does affect all of us. I do think Jean and Amber’s look better in general. Jean looks more official for her station.

They say Rosaria was nerfed before because of animations and shrunk her twice now. Meanwhile Shenhe can have the fattest ass and tits of the whole cast while using the same weapon type.

Now they’re removing shoulder blades. Freaking shoulder blades. It’s just like how girls in high school can’t wear tank tops. The shoulders are just too provocative. It’s only been revealed to affect Ningguang’s new skin but if they take one they will go after the rest. So fair warning.

Then they marketed Itto to look like this brick house of a dweeb but gave him Childe’s body type. Just spray painted pecs, abs and tattoos onto him. Mihoyo makes MORE THAN ENOUGH money to make another male model. They only have TWO! The boys and adults. MAKE A THIRD!

Then there is just their lack of giving a single shit about fixing characters. Xinyan’s Skill has been broken since she was released OVER A YEAR AGO. No plans to fix it. Amber; got that new skin. Perfect chance to touch up her kit. Did they? Pfft nope!

Kokomi had a bit of a bug where for a short time after she was released she would walk on water outside of her Burst Activation. Mihoyo made sure to fix that ASAP. Big deal if she walked on water outside of her Burst! That doesn’t break the damn game! And it’s cool! Fix other things that are actually bad before one that’s cool but doesn’t break your game. I’m not gonna waste her costly Burst to walk on water for a few seconds. And her banner was the worst revenue wise. So let the ones who got her have something cool. This is coming from someone who LOVES Kokomi.

Then so many things are locked behind Raiden’s dumb story quest. I find her intimidating and worthy of her title. But that quest turned her into a fucking moron. I get she wouldn’t know much of the outside world. But you made her so stupid and she saw zero consequences for what she did to her country and people. That’s piss poor writing. I don’t want to play her quest again just to get to Itto’s.

Then there’s the fandom. This isn’t Mihoyo’s fault but I am not lying when I say the Genshin fandom; mostly Twitter admittedly, is the worst and most toxic fucking fandom I’ve seen in my life. You can get cancelled for just breathing. And god help if you’re a man, let alone a white man like Tectone and GooseEgg. And if you’re straight? WHOA BOY YOU’RE THE DEVIL!

And this is beating a dead horse but the anniversary was a joke. Two other gachas I play that are around the same age as Genshin; Twisted Wonderland and Cookie Run: Kingdom have had or are going through the first anniversary and both have given back more to the players than Genshin which makes a stupid amount of money. Mihoyo does not care about us. They only really value the CN server at best.

I already stopped playing cause I’ve been sick and just exhausted, probably from being sick and because of chronic pain. But I tried playing more and just didn’t care.

I have to get ready for work. I’ll more than likely uninstall Genshin when I get home. I used to spend a good chunk of money on this game. It helped keep me occupied through quarantine. But all that money and the game isn’t improving.

Ikr??!! Ayato is so pretty. I really like him, and like, yes the fanart was pretty, but it wasnt Super likely that that is what he would have looked like anyway.

Also weirdo's on twitter have started to try and say ayato is gay bcus of his outfit??? From what I understood they tried to say that the long sleeves are generally worn by unwed-women and so are to attract men, but others have said thats not the only time those are worn and were also often worn by noble men, so like, idk

I feel like the fanart was basically just male Ayaka tbh. This feels like his own person and someone who is related to her and not just male Ayaka. But from what we had, I wont deny that the art was amazing and the theories other faceless wonder were great.

Also I doubt he's gay because of his outfit. But his outfit is designed the way it is because of his high rank and nobility in Inazuma. Long sleeves and layers were symbols of that from my understanding, not just ways women used to attract men. His style is mixed from two distinct periods of Japan where those sleeves are common, with the nobles. I can't remember which ones tho. I know it's the one where Japan became more "westernized" and that was in the 18th century (I think)

But those people are usually shippers/fujoshis tbh. Mihoyo has a large male fan base on the Asia servers, but a largely female one on the Western ones. I think that's why they also made Thoma just a servant and not Ayakas fiancee, because people get weirdly obsessive and jealous if their fictional fav is taken 💀

And they are fictional characters. You're MEANT to simp for them. That's why they don't have ages/sexualities that are canon. So you can self insert and love your fav without judgment or actual canon to get in the way. The whole age debate is pointless as much as a sexuality one, because they want you to spend money on your favs for the reasons above. Is that right? In my opinion, no. Because then you have the pedos simping for "lollis" when they are kids and shit like that. Like I look at Klee/Diona/Qiqi/Sayu and don't see "young women" I see kids. Babies.

But that gets into the whole "does fiction affect reality" debate and that's a rant/long post for another day.

But I doubt they'd make a canonical gay male character due to censorship and with how big the game is it will be under close inspection. Honokai got away with this (from my personal belief and reasoning) because it's WLW and it's a heavily fetishized relationship and misogyny knows no bounds. Also WLW is treated differently than MLM because of this and the fact that people refuse to believe that women can only like women... that lesbians can be "fixed" while male homosexuality is more "dirty" and stuff. Again it ties to misogyny, homophobia, masculinity, and stuff like that.

Then again I have limited knowledge on how China works culturally and with censorship, but I don't doubt it's for these types of reasons and more. :/ both gay and lesbian relationships deserved to have rep and be shown as normal and natural, but with homophobia being rampant and how ingrained it is in society (to the point it impacts relationships that are platonic/familial, like no, you're not gay for wanting affection from a friend of the same sex. You're human, you want comfort and vulnerability, it's normal.) I doubt it's something you can fix so easily.

I am disappointed in some of the fandom. They have harassed and sent threats to some shippers who shipped Yae and Ayato because... of the color pallette. Like it's obviously a crack ship that won't gain attraction. Because you know, Ayato is gay and Miko is a lesbian, so let's send death threats over a fictional relationship with no impact on reality 💀

Idk this fandom is full of terminally online behavior. Like it's not that deep. It's a game. Please just let people ship weird pairs on colors or hairstyles if they want. It has no bearing on the Canon storyline. It's not that deep. It's a gacha game that wants your money and is run by a multimillion-dollar company. Learn sanity.

deku vs kacchan part 2 is my favorite ep of the entire series actually. i’ve watch that ep so many times as well it’s just perfect. i got into them when i watched that episode actually! the voice acting god..... literally shivers. now that i think about it it might even be my favorite anime ep of all time help. i just love how bakugou lets it all out and we get to see that side of him.. the insecure scared child he tries to hide. god i could ramble about it forever idk just love it. OH YOU WATCHED THE MOVE RIGHT AFTER? a scene with bakugou and todoroki is guaranteed a good time.. and they work so well together. haha that’s such a nice coincidence tho their dynamic is great in that movie even if it’s mostly kiribaku sjsksjk. what do you think about kiribaku btw?

i’ve seen so many people mention that!! like one of the worst parts of the game is that in the higher level you get the less there are to do.. ssjksjdk at some point all you can do is grind domains and try to level up shdkdfhdj

shfkjdskdjhf nope right now i’m playing with noelle as my main damage dealer, traveller, lisa and barbara actually. so i think i have a pretty good balance atm.. 2 long range 2 short range-ish. i usually trade out barbara for another character if i have to tho, hehe. that’s only combat though ^ benny is with me when we explore. mood is me having a 5 star and not even using her... i still need to think of ways qiqi could fit into the group yk. is your group still looking the same as before? ooooh if you could rank the elements what would your ranking look like?
