On February 16, 1977, the first season of Wonder Woman ended. This marked the last episode on ABC (seasons 2 and 3 were on CBS), the last episode to take place during the World War II era, and the last appearances in the series of Wonder Girl, General Blankenship, and Etta Candy. On September 16, 1977 season 2 of Wonder Woman began after switching from ABC to CBS and adding to the title "The New Adventures of..." That was not the only change. It is explained that Diana had returned to Paradise Island between seasons. The last season had ended in the World War II era. When Diana Prince/Wonder Woman returned to the world of men this time, it was now 1977. Instead of Nazis she found herself in the cold war world. Lyle Wagner was kept on, but this time playing the son of his season one character. This season also saw yet another actress take over the role of Hippolyta, this time Beatrice Straight. Instead of working for the Air Force, Diana Prince and Steve Trevor "jr" worked for the I.A.D.C. ("The Return of Wonder Woman" TV, Event)
