2610. ween - Chocolate and Cheese - More ween, it’s sick.
2611. logfella - Closet Doubts - logfella’s part of the split with Al was impressive enough that I went back and found this, I think it’s 3-4 years old now. It’s the same blend of 80′s synthetic sounds and punk that’s still compelling later on. Drives like early Crying but with I Kill Giants’ off-key singing.
2612. Dowsing/The Cardboard Swords/Long Knives/Sinai Vessel - CYLS Split Series 4 - Dowsing/Cardboard Swords sound like I remember them, not much going on. Long Knives’ song is cool but I’m mostly there for harmonies. Sinai Vessel’s track is the standout, a bouncy cadence to a deeply personal expression that abruptly shifts halfway through to a dark banger.
2613. High on Fire - De Vermis Mysteriis - Killer bass tone and thrashing.
2614. The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium - Breakout LP is tight. Sounds closer to ATDI and Circa Survive than what would eventually come but with the usual longer forms.
2615. High on Fire - Death Is This Communion - Closer to mainstream metal as I know it, still sick, got some Mastodon-type sounds.
