what do you think would happen if either
scenario a: time ran into navi or the kokiri or hell, just a great fairy again in his hyrule?
or
scenario b: a fairy tried to nab one of the chain, like wind?
i like your kokiri lore :)
I’m super excited to go back into this au!
To answer you’re first question about Time being found by something. One if it was Navi, he would probably break down crying sense he consider Navi his mother. Two if it was a kokiri or even a great fairy, Time would keep his distance, mainly cause one ether he would have to deal with an angry fairy or possibly being kidnapped again by a fairy again.
To answer you second idea of a fairy trying to nab someone in the chain: it can really depend on where they are and who they are trying to nab, Time trying to make sure everyone safe from feral fairies

Can you imagine how sorrowful the kokiri were after Link disappeared? Can you imagine their heartbreak after loosing two loved ones in the same ‘day?’ Their protector, gone and dead, even with the seedling left behind it did not help with mending their broken hearts. Neither did loosing the child the spirits helped raise. He had swore to do right by the Deku Tree and do right by Hyrule, leaving all that he knew behind. The boy, their boy, was just 10 when Hyrule was forced on his shoulders. He was just 10 when he doing a job only elders could truly comprehend.
…
When Link comes back to kokiri forest after the 7 year slumber, a slumber that would forever change his tired mind, he finds somewhere in the forest a small pile of rocks and sticks. Its a grave, on that he had never seen before nor remembered being so close to his home. A grave that had all sorts of flowers, freshly craved ocarinas and little toys scattered about it. Childish objects, ones that once had his face splitting with a smile to see. But as he admired the small grave, on one of the biggest stones a simple engraving stood out amongst the rubble.
“Always a hero, never a child.”

Zelda Theory - The True form of the Kokiri / Koroks
There's something about the Kokiri that doesn't add up.
There's the matter of the rules of the Kokiri and the Lost Woods. Although that might be simpler than it seems.
One rule is that Kokiri must not leave the Kokiri Forest, because they might die, or grow up. But we see them at Lonlon Ranch at the end of Zelda 64.
There can be a simple explanation:
It was the old Deku Tree that made the original rule, and the New Deku Tree does not demand that the Kokiri be permanently confined to the Forest.
But, I gotta ask, why wait until now to revoke that rule?
"Ocarina of Time" never mentions it, but there are some lapses in logic when it comes to Link and the Kokiri.
The Deku Sprout reveals to us that Link was actually delivered to the Deku Tree as a baby and raised as one of the Kokiri. But… wouldn't they all remember Link was a baby?
Like, wouldn't Saria, his closest friend, remark to him that he was a baby, when they met? Wouldn't his bullies (like Mido) tease him about being a baby?
Unless, they all forgot about it.
The Deku Tree is very old and powerful Spirit, he might have the power to alter memories. Especially the memories of the Kokiri, who are probably just extensions of his own spirit.
I'd could even speculate that the Koroks are actually the ORIGINAL forms, and they became the child-like Kokiri, in order to accommodate baby Link, and allow him to grow up around people that look like him.
And of course, the special rules that Kokiri cannot leave the Forest were set in place to protect Link. (at first)
It's likely the Deku Tree could sense the spirit of the Hero inside of Link, and he needed to be guarded until Destiny called on him to rise up.
Finally, by the time of Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild, the Deku tree no longer had a child to guard, so he had no qualms about letting the Koroks go beyond the forest. Regular people can't SEE the Koroks!
(Also, after many tests, we know Koroks are indestructable, lol)
Imagine that... Saria was a Korok the entire time. Link never saw her true face. It makes it all the sadder, doesn't it?

What if OOT! link became the gaurdian of the lost woods?
What if his form shifted from flesh and bones into bark and roots? What if his presence was felt by every stranger that set foot on his soil, looming over them like the gnarled trees. What if he felt ever snapped twig, a hot shiver blazing down -what used to be- his spine as his peaceful home is disturbed. What if the guardian could move through the trees as if they were doorways with such speed that most assume the guardian teleport using said trees.
What if this guardian wore an old tattered cape, once belonging to his old self as protection from the cold, but it is now used for games by kindred spirits who giggle and play among the trees. What if the sword, once belonged to the old army man, is now used as a prop in lively plays as if it wasn’t stained with the blood of the deserving and those not. What if the overgrown, golden armour was used to bring melodies to the quiet forest? What if, everything designed for violence was changed into a symbol of new beginnings?
What if Link took care of the kokiri, watching over them like they once did for him.
